* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: Sammy Stryker or "The Chained" is a powerful super psychic who does battle with Superman in this story for the first time. Considering how Manchester Black died in the previous arc, Stryker being introduced as a psychic supervillain for Superman is certainly one way to fill a niche in a supervillain slot that's now open. Additionally, both psychics also had troubled relationships with their parents, with Manchester being abused by his parents and Sammy being confirmed to have murdered his father.
