* EnemyMine: When [[BombThrowingAnarchists anarchists]] have plunge the whole city in terror, the police are patrolling the streets around the clock. [[spoiler:With little option left, Ric and Richard make a deal with the organized crime to team up against the anarchists, as the increase in police activities have affected their business.]]

* FatalFlaw: Ric's flaw if pride. Too many times, he goes alone to confront the suspect and is either kidnapped or injured.

* DistressBadAss: Ric is prone to kidnapping because of his recklessness.

* EvilCounterpart: [[spoiler:Bex Turner]]. An American detective who's as good as Ric in solving crimes than brawling. He turn out to be [[CorruptCop malevolent]].

Sometimes, he knew the suspects were perfectly innocents, but provoke them to gauge their reactions. However, he does have a heart and is compassionate, just like Tintin.
