There is a fourth series in the works, tentatively titled Mouse Guard: The Winter War, which will tell the story of a war with a weasel warlord that takes place two years before Fall 1152. Mouse Guard: Spring 1153 will be the fifth book, and pick up where Winter left off. There is also an RPG, which uses a modified version of the BurningWheel system and won the 2009 Origins award for Best Roleplaying Game.

*** Note how the RPG book states that it would normally take twenty armed mice to kill an owl, a hundred to kill a fox, and twenty-thousand to kill a bear.

* CruelMercy: Gwendolyn spares life at the end of Fall, just to be on the safe side. She is not, however, averse to throwing him outside of mouse territory and letting the wolves deal with him instead.

** Somewhat debatable. There are no humans in the Territories-- at all-- so the world doesn't fit the "hidden from humans" aspect of the trope.

** Somewhat debatable. There are no humans in the Territories-- at all-- so the world doesn't fit the "hidden from humans" aspect of the trope. However, the mice are hidden from predators, who often have their own cultures and live out in the open like humans would, so the trope is rather subversive in its execution.

* DontCreateAMartyr: About the only reason isn't executed upon capture. Instead, he's banished beyond the scent border and left to fend for himself in territory infested with predators.

* DueToTheDead: Given in a decent funeral. Sadie wants to return to a dangerous outpost to give one for , but Gwendolyn can't allow it until winter clears up.

Added DiffLines:

* VikingFuneral: The funeral pyre version seems to be the default for just about anyone who dies; the ferrets aren't shy about using their very cooking fires for this purpose. gets the "floating away on a current" version.

* BigBadassWolf: Which are driven out of the mouse territories by small, even more badass rodentine warriors. The wolves are not a force to be trifled with, however, as soon finds out.

* FiveManBand: One gets put together for the winter supply run.Note that this configuration only applies to the team interactions in-universe, and not to characterization as a whole. Lieam may be the protagonist, but he's not leader material just yet, and therefore he is not TheHero of this band.
** TheHero: Kenzie is an experienced leader of Guard Patrols, and it shows in his level-headed decision-making skills.
