''ComicBook/CaptainAmerica'' was rebooted in 1996, as part of the ''ComicBook/HeroesReborn'' project. The comic was made by Creator/RobLiefeld, who created the book and drew it, with Creator/JephLoeb scripting it. !Tropes
----
!!''Captain America'' contains examples of the following tropes:

* BrotherSisterIncest: When an alternate version of the Heroes Reborn universe's Rikki Barnes is stranded in the mainline Marvel Universe, she meets John Barnes, an alternate version of her brother. Unlike her real brother, who was a criminal, a wannabe Neo-Nazi, and a rather unpleasant person in general, MU!John was kind and helpful. Seeing this as a chance to have the kind of caring brother-sister relationship she never had with her real brother, Rikki befriended John. Unfortunately, this John never had a sister, and he misinterpreted Rikki's intentions. He eventually tried to kiss her. When the shocked Rikki tries to tell him that she couldn't love him that way, John doesn't take it well. At all.
* CanonImmigrant: Rikki proved to be popular enough that years later, she made the jump to the 616 canon. The ''Nomad'' series about her would also introduce the 616 version of John, her brother.

* SparedByTheAdaptation: At the time, anyway, given that Captain America met Rikki's grandparents towards the end of ''HR'', her grandfather is implied to ComicBook/BuckyBarnes, before ''ComicBook/CaptainAmericaWinterSoldier'' retconned that Bucky was indeed still alive as the (albeit brainwashed) eponymous villain.

* AdaptationNameChange: Rikki's father is implied to be the ''HR'' version of ComicBook/BuckyBarnes--only his first name is Richard instead of James.
* AmnesiaDanger: ComicBook/CaptainAmerica. ''Heroes Reborn'' started with him as an ordinary family man with a loving wife and son -- who dreamed of UsefulNotes/WorldWarII battlefields each night. He eventually learned that SHIELD had mindwiped him to keep him under control, and that his wife and son were Life Model Decoy robots.

* CanonImmigrant: Rikki proved to be popular enough that years later, she made the jump to the 616 canon.
* CaptainErsatz: Rikki Barnes took inspiration from Carrie Kelly, the original female Robin from ''ComicBook/BatmanTheDarkKnightReturns''. Rikki would receive her own Captain Ersatz, a teen heroine named S.P.I.C.E., in Creator/RobLiefeld's later ''Fighting American'' series. This is due to Liefeld recycling art from his unfinished ''Captain America'' run.

* NoOneCouldSurviveThat: The Nazis found the building where Captain America's shield was kept, and leveled it to the ground. It does not matter, the shield is MadeOfIndestructium. Unfortunately for them, so is Steve Rogers.
