"Continuum Conundrum Part 2" suggests that Doc's current predicament resulted from the note Marty left for Doc back in 1986. [[spoiler:In reality, it was a RedHerring.]]]]
*** Funnily enough, though, Part 5 reveals that the ''entire arc'' can be blamed on [[spoiler:Doc's shoddy 1893 time car; he had intended to go back to 2015 to get hover components for the time train, but the time circuits had overshot by 20 years. That gap wound up biting Doc in the ass, as his attempt at withdrawing from his bank account wound up getting him accused of identity fraud, and in the mad scramble to escape 2035, he wound up getting zapped by a weapon meant to disable neural implants (which he did not have), [[EasyAmnesia scrambling his brain]]. But not only ''that'', but because Doc didn't immediately return to 1893, Clara shot off a letter to Marty in 1986, causing him to write his own letter to Doc, which he found in 2035, and caused him to start assuming the worst... and, due to his memory problems, Doc wound up going off of the date on that letter as he left the future]]. Or, to make a long story short, this whole arc could have been avoided [[spoiler:if Doc had a more reliable time circuit system]].

* MistakenForAnImpostor: When Doc is stranded in 2035, he tries to withdraw money from an account he opened in 2015 but technology in 2035 is advanced enough to for the bank staff to tell he's 20 years younger than he'd be had he taken TheSlowPath from 2015 to 2035 and for an impostor to copy the genetic make-up of the impersonated person.

Added DiffLines:

* CrimeOfSelfDefense: Afraid the cops won't understand he only killed Uncle Lou as an act of self-defense, Biff buys forged documents to hide the fact he killed Lou.

Added DiffLines:

* InSpiteOfANail: In the main comic, it's revealed that Joey Baines was in prison for his role in Biff's attempt to steal $85,000 from Doc's mother in 1972. In 1972-A, Biff was too rich to bother with that money but Joey was still in prison. Lorraine says it was for doing drugs.

** The "Who is Marty [=McFly=]?" arc [[AscendedFridgeHorror finally tackles the problem]] of Marty settling down in a newly-established timeline while retaining his memories of the old timeline, which leads to the fear that he may have displaced the version of himself that everyone around him remembers. [[ExistentialHorror It gets]] [[LossOfIdentity pretty heavy.]]
** After searching Professor Irving and Marty for the cash that was supposedly in Doc's Mom's house towards the end of Issue #24, Biff issues an ultimatum: come up with the loot by noon tomorrow, [[TheDeterminator or he'll find them.]] A couple of hours later, they are back in 1986, since Biff has ''yet again'' failed to fully realize he's in a time travel story. And when Biff ''does'' catch up to the two of them [[TheSlowPath in 1986]], he barely even remembers encountering the two in 1972, viewing the fact they found the missing piece of the painting to be a coincidence.[[note]]Joey on the other hand was a little closer to realizing the connection... and even then, all he noted was that Marty looked a little like Kevin Klein.[[/note]]
