!!En Sabah Nur / ComicBook/{{Apocalypse}}
[[quoteright:300:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/apocalypse_6.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:300:''"[[AGodAmI No more false gods. I'm here now.]]"'']]
->'''Played By:''' Creator/OscarIsaac, Berdj Garabedian, and Brendan Pedder
->'''Film Appearances:''' ''Film/XMenDaysOfFuturePast | Film/XMenApocalypse''

-->''"Everything they've built will fall! And from the ashes of their world, we'll build a better one!"''

One of the first mutants, if not ''THE'' first, En Sabah Nur (meaning "The First One"), otherwise known as Apocalypse was the ruler of Ancient Egypt and an extremely powerful being with a myriad of abilities ranging from inanimate matter manipulation, teleportation and potentially {{immortality}}. He is believed to be the progenitor of all mutants. His initial onscreen appearance shows him constructing a pyramid--[[MindOverMatter personally]].
----
* AdaptationalAttractiveness: As an adolescent. When someone with an infamous pug face reaches DudeLooksLikeALady levels, you know ''something'' is up. In ''Film/XMenApocalypse'', one of his mutant hosts is a shirtless Creator/OscarIsaac, and even in his "ascended" Apocalypse form, he lacks his comic counterpart's distinct squashed pug face.
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: His skin is blue.
* TheAntichrist: [[http://ca.ign.com/articles/2016/05/02/x-menas-professor-x-is-christ-and-apocalypse-is-a-false-god Singer invokes this]] when he describes Apocalypse.
-->"[Apocalypse is] kind of the opposite of Christ, actually. Christ would have come years after him, by the way."
* BadBoss: Played With. He's a good boss at first (as long as he doesn't want you for his next host) drawing out the true potential of a number of mutants and encouraging them to live up to it. However, his reaction to [[spoiler: Archangel's death is a contemptuous "useless," as Archangel proved - in his eyes - to be unworthy. This triggers Storm's HeelRealisation.]]
* BigBad: He is the main threat in ''Film/XMenApocalypse'', given the AntagonistTitle this movie has.
* ComboPlatterPowers: In addition to immortality and super strength, Creator/BryanSinger had listed Apocalypse's skills in a May 2016 ''Empire'' article.
-->"Not only can he control technology, teleport, and enhance the abilities of his chosen Horsemen, but he can move inanimate matter. He can dissolve, change and transform inanimate molecules."
* CompositeCharacter: This version of Apocalypse incorporates elements of The Shadow King; he meets and mentors a young Storm in Egypt, is an incorporeal entity that periodically possesses human hosts, and battles Xavier inside his mind.
* CreepyMonotone: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvXxwUiZ3yQ This is how he sounds]] when he informs Professor X, "I'm here for you, Charles." The voice is quite chilling, and it forebodes that Xavier will soon be in ''really deep trouble''.
* CultOfPersonality: He emphasizes his god-like qualities to draw in potential followers. [[http://ca.ign.com/articles/2016/05/02/x-menas-professor-x-is-christ-and-apocalypse-is-a-false-god Singer highlights]] the character's role as a cult leader.
-->"He's also a false god, which makes him kind of like a cult leader. So Creator/OscarIsaac and Simon Kinberg not only studied religion, but also studied the nature of cults and how they function."
* DarkLordOnLifeSupport: Back in pre-history, he would periodically transfer his essence into a new host body whenever the old one started to wear out. His current body is thousands of years old due to him having been sealed away for so long, and he's actually reliant on his life-support suit to help him keep it going until he can find a suitable replacement. Without the suit he really does show his age.
* EnergyBeings: He's a non-corporeal entity who can collect the powers of any mutant he possesses.
* EvilIsHammy: To the point Bryan Singer's instructions requested either "quarter [[Franchise/MastersOfTheUniverse Skeletor]]," "half Skeletor" or [[DrunkOnTheDarkSide "full Skeletor."]]
* FishOutOfTemporalWater: He wakes up in 1980s Egypt after being sealed for thousands of years, and he's understandably confused at first. He speaks ancient Egyptian at first, none of the Arabic-speaking people he bumps into can understand what he says. He quickly overcomes the problem after meeting Storm, by simply touching a TV screen (see InstantExpert below).
* {{Foil}}: He sees himself as a god, whereas Professor X serves as a MessianicArchetype of the movie series.[[note]]See the entry for this trope on Film/XMen for a full description of Xavier's Christ-like parallels.[[/note]] They are both mentors to their respective teams, they reach out to mutants who feel lost, confused and alone, and encourage them to reach their potential, so their dominant [[TheLeader leadership style is Charismatic]]. They promote radically different ideologies: Apocalypse believes that the Earth should only belong to the strongest and the weak should be wiped out, while Charles thinks that it can be shared by everyone equally and peacefully. Their position on the [[http://s15.postimg.org/9vr8qydbv/Defend_Destroy.jpg "Defend" and "Destroy" posters]] mark them as foils and in the BattleInTheCentreOfTheMind, they're shown mirroring and opposing one another.
* FourIsDeath: His servants and entourage, the Four HorsemenOfTheApocalypse: Death, Famine, Pestilence and War.
* TheFundamentalist: "You are all my children, and you're lost because you follow blind leaders. No more false gods. I'm here now."
* AGodAmI: Inverted; he claims that the various deities worshipped throughout history were just different names for ''him''. Apocalypse is so powerful that Hank essentially acknowledges that the former might as well be a supernatural being ("It's all of us against a god"). [[http://ca.ign.com/articles/2016/05/02/x-menas-professor-x-is-christ-and-apocalypse-is-a-false-god Singer clarifies]] Apocalypse's "divine" status.
-->"He's kind of more the God of the Old Testament, the vengeful God who wants the world in a certain order and wants to be worshipped--but he's also forgiving."
* AsTheGoodBookSays: Directly related to the above, he at times alludes to the Bible ("You can fire your arrows from the Tower of Babel, but you can never strike God!").
* GrandTheftMe: He rejuvenates himself by transferring his essence into the body of a younger Egyptian man in his Lazarus chamber. Thousands of years later, he chooses [[spoiler:Xavier to be his next host]].
* IHaveManyNames: Apocalypse claims to have been known throughout history as [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ra Ra,]] [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krishna Krishna,]] and [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yahweh Yahweh]] among others.
* InstantExpert: By simply touching a TV screen, he connects himself to all TV networks on the planet and learns modern languages and history of the world in a matter of seconds.
* LargeHam: He is very theatral. The NewEraSpeech below is the best demonstration.
* MeaningfulName: In RealLife, En Sabah Nur means "The morning light" (he represents the dawn of mutantkind), but the comics translate it as "The first one."
* MindOverMatter: In TheStinger for ''Film/XMenDaysOfFuturePast'', he telekinetically builds the pyramids like it ain't no thing. In ''Apocalypse'', he's constantly manipulating things down to the molecular level.
* MonochromaticEyes: His eyes turn white when he actively uses his mutant abilities.
* MonsterProgenitor: Claims to be the world's first mutant. In the comics, this claim was inaccurate, as En Sabah Nur was actually predated by other mutants like Selene of the Hellfire Club. In the movie continuity, it's very likely to be true, if only because he's quite possibly millennia older than his canon counterpart.
* MrFanservice: One of his mutant hosts is Creator/OscarIsaac covered only in a loincloth.
* NewEraSpeech: '''EVERYTHING THEY'VE BUILT, WILL FALL!!!! AND FROM THE ASHES OF THEIR WORLD, WE'LL BUILD A BETTER ONE!!!!!'''
* ParentalSubstitute: He [[http://collider.com/x-men-apocalypse-news-things-to-know/ serves this role to Storm.]] He also invokes this trope when he asserts that "You are all my children, and you're lost because you follow blind leaders. But I am here now. I'm here for you."
* PowerEchoes: As a result of him having a VoiceOfTheLegion.
* PurpleIsPowerful: In his natural gaseous form, he's purple.
* RealityWarper: If MindOverMatter wasn't enough, he can disintegrate objects in a pinch and can encase people in the walls. He can potentially alter a ''whole city'', though a large part of it is also due to Magneto's considerably amplified powers.
* SealedEvilInACan: Ancient Egyptians sealed him in the depths of his pyramid. A cult (and probably Moira's intervention) awakens him by exposing the pyramid's top to sunlight again after thousands of years.
* TheSingularity: [[spoiler:As he mentions before attempting to incorporate into Xavier, he wants to use [[SeeingThroughAnothersEyes Professor X's powers]] to "Be everywhere. Be everyone."]]
* SuperEmpowering: He can amplify a mutant's power, and it's one of the gifts that he bestows on his Four Horsemen and Charles (to use him to deliver a message to the whole world, in ''every language'', no less).
* TimeAbyss: Since he was young in the early days of Ancient Egypt, En Sabah Nur has been around for most of six thousand years '''at the least'''. According to Moira, some believe him to be ''tens of thousands'' of years old.
-->'''Apocalypse''': I was there to spark and fan the flame of man's awakening... to spin the wheel of civilization...
* VillainTeleportation: It's one of his numerous mutant abilities.
* VillainousBreakdown: [[spoiler: After the X-Men prevent him from [[GrandTheftMe possessing Xavier]]]], he becomes noticeably more unhinged and desperate. It only gets worse after [[spoiler: Storm and Magneto betray him]].
* VisionaryVillain: As such from most versions. The quote in LargeHam shouldn't leave much to the imagination.
* VoiceOfTheLegion: He sometimes sounds like he speaks with multiple voices, and Creator/BryanSinger has explained that this is the result of the character absorbing many "souls" throughout his lifetime.
* WouldHitAGirl: He chokes Mystique while lifting her off the ground.

->'''Played By:''' Creator/OliviaMunn
->'''Film Appearances:''' ''Film/XMenApocalypse''

A mutant with telekinesis who can conjure various weapons from pisonic energy, she is Caliban's bodyguard at first, before joining Apocalypse, becoming the Horseman of Pestilence.
----
* AdaptationDyeJob: Her hair is purple in the comics, but her movie counterpart is raven-haired with purple highlights.
* AdaptationalVillainy: While at times ruthless, canon Psylocke is firmly one of the good guys. Here, not so much.
* AllAsiansKnowMartialArts: Played straight in ''Film/XMenApocalypse''.
* BloodKnight: She loves a fight.
* CleavageWindow: [[http://cde.3.elcomercio.pe/ima/0/1/3/4/1/1341463.jpg The only addition]] to a costume that was already maximum FanService.
* ComicBookMoviesDontUseCodenames: Subverted, as the only time she's called by name it's Psylocke.
* DarkActionGirl: She is trained in both sword fighting and martial arts.
* EvilCostumeSwitch: After she becomes a Horseman, she receives a form-fitting purple leotard.
* FashionableAsymmetry: [[https://n2ps.storied.co/uploads/c048fcd98aae2d23da146cca1f366a5b.jpg Her thigh-high boots.]]
* FlatCharacter: All we really find out about her is that she likes a fight and doesn't like Mystique very much.
* KatanasAreJustBetter: She prefers to harm her enemies with a katana and a psionic blade.
* LaserBlade: Her psionic katana.
* LeotardOfPower: She wears a purple leotard just like her comic counterpart.
* MsFanservice: Her [[http://www.maactioncinema.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/c048fcd98aae2d23da146cca1f366a5b.jpg Horseman attire]] displays a fair amount of her skin.
* NotTheFallThatKillsYou: Manages to survive falling hundreds of feet in the air from the abandoned X jet by thrusting her psionic blade into a building to decelerate.
* PurpleIsPowerful: She's chosen by Apocalypse as one of four mutants capable of wreaking catastrophic destruction... and purple is her color motif. Helps her powers manifest with a purple [[PowerGlows glow]].
* RuleOfSexy: Her [[http://www.maactioncinema.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/c048fcd98aae2d23da146cca1f366a5b.jpg revealing uniform]] isn't sensible for a battle, but it does provide {{Fanservice}}. It's actually sexier in the movie-verse than in the comics because of the addition of a boob window.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: [[spoiler: Quietly escapes the battle after she sees that the heroes are pummeling Apocalypse hard.]]
* WhipItGood: Other than blades, she's able to create a pair of whips also made of psion.

A mutant with large wings who has the ability to fly, he was forced to fight other mutants in electrified cages by humans in East Berlin. The fight against Nightcrawler caused one of his wings to be burned, and he escaped following Mystique's sabotaging of the cage. As Angel drowns his depression in alcohol in an abandoned warehouse following his escape, Apocalypse comes at him, empowers him with new metal wings that can throw sharp metal feathers and he becomes the Horseman of Death.
----
* EightiesHair: His curly mane is Music/BillyIdol-esque.
* AdaptationPersonalityChange: In ''Film/XMenTheLastStand'', he was presented as a wholesome NiceGuy; in ''Film/XMenApocalypse'', he's an angry and cocky rebel.
* BlingOfWar: His silver-and-dark-grey Horseman armour is marvelous to behold.
* [[spoiler: DroppedABridgeOnHim: or to be more exact, a plane. He gets stuck in the X-Men's plane as Jean sets it to crash and Nightcrawler teleports all the X-Men out. His dead body is seen in the ruins of the jet and is noticed by Nur, who sneers and says "Useless." This also triggers Storm's HeelRealisation and HeelFaceTurn.]]
* EvilCostumeSwitch: After he becomes a Horseman, his bird-like wings are grafted to metal, and he's provided with a suit of silver-and-dark-grey armour.
* FaceOfAnAngelMindOfADemon: His face may look cherubic, but his personality is anything ''but'' that. He's Apocalypse's "angel of death," and he assists his leader in bringing about the worldwide extinction of humans and mutants alike.
* GladiatorGames[=/=]FightClubbing: He's forced to participate in caged fights against other mutants in East Berlin.
* GoodWingsEvilWings: He's always been morally ambiguous, but at the start, he possesses white bird wings and is far from the murderous man bent on revenge against humans for mistreating mutants. Then he gets electrocuted (courtesy of Nightcrawler), burning off his right wing, which gets replaced by metallic ones as part of his transformation into a horseman/Archangel.
* HellBentForLeather: He's dressed in a studded black leather jacket at the cage fight.
* LightIsNotGood: His titles are Angel and Archangel, not to mention having an angelic face and white wings (at least before it burns off), but he's an angry rebel who resents humans for mistreating him and other mutants, ending with him joining Apocalypse willingly. This part is emphasized during his fights with Nightcrawler, the poster boy for DarkIsNotEvil, as it's essentially a good demon fighting against an evil angel.
* MeaningfulName: His code name Angel refers to his angelic looks, which include his large, white wings and blond curls. In ''Film/XMenApocalypse'', he becomes Apocalypse's "angel of death."
-->'''Ben Hardy''': [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAmT_RpRdlc Angel is pretty angry,]] and he casts a shadow of death across the land.
* MrFanservice: He's shirtless when he shows off his metallic wings.
* ParentalNeglect: Ben Hardy suggests that a [[http://attitude.co.uk/ben-hardy-teases-whats-in-store-for-his-character-angel-in-x-men-apocalypse/ lack of parental nurturing]] is a major factor in Warren turning to the dark side.
-->"People who don't get looked after enough can end up being very angry and I feel like this is where Angel's anger comes from and maybe that gives him the potential to transform and become one of the villains."
* PrettyBoy: He's beautiful, and it's meant to be ironic that an angelic-looking youth is actually quite ruthless and deadly.
* ShirtlessScene: Does not wear a shirt when Apocalypse arrives to recruit him and makeshifts him a metallic wing.
* StormOfBlades: He gains the power of throwing sharp metal feathers after Apocalypse has empowered him.
* ThisMeansWarPaint: After he becomes a Horseman, he has markings on his face.
* WingedHumanoid: He begins ''Film/XMenApocalypse'' with feathered wings, but they are later replaced by metallic ones by Apocalypse.

A mutant with two large angelic wings. His father created the cure for mutations.
----
* AdvertisedExtra: He is featured heavily in all the promotional material for ''Film/XMenTheLastStand'', as part of the whole "the original X-Men team in the comics finally together in film." He only has a few short scenes: he refuses the cure and flies away; he very briefly shows up at the X-Mansion for the sole purpose of allowing them to state categorically that the school is still open; and finally he [[spoiler:saves his father's life]] during the final battle. He does nothing in between.

* GrowingWings: He is shown to have something growing out of his back as a child. Fast forward ten years: he has wings.
* MrFanservice: Spends a good part of ''Film/XMenTheLastStand'' shirtless.
* PrettyBoy: He's angelic-looking.
* SelfHarm: When his wings first appear, he tries to ''scrape'' them off with files and graters.
* StrappedToAnOperatingTable: Which he wanted at first, but once he saw the needle, he got panicky and quickly got out of there.
* WellDoneSonGuy: Wanted to take the cure to please his father. [[spoiler:Later gets his respect by saving daddy from falling to death.]]
* WingedHumanoid: His "only" power. Bonus science points in that his wings are probably large enough to actually lift a human, although there are still the typical issues of musculature and bone structure.

* AdaptationalAttractiveness: Comics Leech resembles a pseudo-amphibious humanoid creature (''not like that's a bad thing''). See [[http://comicicons.files.wordpress.com/2013/05/leech_cameron_bright.jpg here]] for comparison.
* ComicBookMoviesDontUseCodenames: Subverted yet played straight as his profile indeed shows his alternative alias of "Leech", but he's never called that by anyone nor does he refer to himself as such.
* LittlestCancerPatient: His appearance certainly invokes this, and it seems Leech's powers required him to go through chemotherapy.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Like his comic book counterpart, he's been referred to as simply "Jimmy" with no surname given.
* PoweredByAForsakenChild: The mutant antibody is distilled from Leech's blood, though they hope to eventually artificially synthesize it. Unlike other examples, Leech is treated rather well and seems fine with the arrangement.
* PowerNullifier: His power nullifies all mutant powers and reverses physical mutations within ten feet of him. His DNA was used to create the mutant "cure".

* FingerlessGloves: Part of his IconicOutfit.

----

* AnimalThemedSuperbeing: She has an animal alias and its abilities (viper is a family of venomous snakes).
* BaldOfEvil[=/=]BaldWoman: After she sheds her skin, she looks more evil and more like a viper.
* TheBaroness: She is sadistic, cold and sexy. The casting even fits the old Communist stereotype as the actress is Russian.
* ColorCodedCharacters: She has a preference for green.
* DarkActionGirl: She is a vicious poisoner and martial artist to the point that even men don't mind fighting her.
* TheDragon: She is this to [[spoiler:Yashida]].
* FauxAffablyEvil: She talks in a polite and seductive tone when discussing her evil plans.
* FemmeFatale: She kills with a kiss... literally. She does know how to use her considerable sexuality as a weapon.
* FemmeFatalons: She can make her nails razor sharp.
* FormFittingWardrobe: Her clothes in the entire movie is this.
* GeniusBruiser: Implied since she's a scientist.
* HotScientist: According to Logan, who congratulates Yashida upon finding out she's his oncologist.
* InNameOnly: Viper, a.k.a. Madame Hydra, is a high-ranking leader of HYDRA who is a human with superb martial arts skills and knowledge with poisons. The film depicts her as a mutant scientist with snake-like attributes and mainly works for herself.
* KissOfDeath: Her venom powers allow this. She uses this to dispose of a Japanese man who mistook her for a prostitute.
* MeaningfulName: Her alias as Yashida's doctor is "Green," and she frequently wears green clothing. "Viper" also alludes to [[spoiler:the classic fable "TheFarmerAndTheViper", which perfectly describes Logan's relationship with [[UngratefulBastard her master]].]]
* MisanthropeSupreme: She claims that she is "immune to every poison known to Man" and "immune to the poison that is Man". Note how the term MAN can designate [[HatesEveryoneEqually male or female]] of any species, particularly in this case huMan.
* MistakenForProstitute: She gets hit with this trope in ''Film/TheWolverine''. Being who [[AxeCrazy she]] [[PoisonousPerson is]], this goes [[{{Understatement}} badly]] for the potential john.
* MsFanservice: She tends to wear some nice skin-tight outfits.
* OffWithHerHead: [[spoiler:Yukio manages to snag her with a wire then ties it to an elevator, dragging Viper into it. A rigging coming down the shaft tags her in the head as she's being pulled up and... yeah.]]
* OnlyInItForTheMoney: She describes herself as a capitalist.
* OverlyLongTongue: Required for a snake woman.
* PoisonousPerson: Her mutant power renders her immune to all viruses and toxins, and she's able to secrete them with her tongue.
* PsychoForHire: She mentions being hired, and has no personal loyalty to her boss.
* RoguesGalleryTransplant: In the comics, she started off as a Comicbook/CaptainAmerica foe and is usually an enemy of Comicbook/NickFury and ComicBook/{{SHIELD}} as well (to the point that she's now known as Madame Hydra). Despite this, she is one of the antagonists in ''Film/TheWolverine''. Understandable since despite her connections to Captain America and S.H.I.E.L.D., she has appeared in several notable Wolverine storylines.
* SicklyGreenGlow: Her suit probably invokes this.
* SmugSnake: Both figuratively (overconfident) and literally (that forked tongue!).

* AnimeHair: [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair Down to the color.]] Director James Marigold has expressly stated his desire was to give her a more anime appearance, hence the aforementioned AdaptationDyeJob.
* BadassAdorable: She has anime rebel schoolgirl features with the efficiency of Miho in terms of swordsmanship.
* BadassNormal: Her mutant power is a limited form of precognition that allows her to see how people will die. Her strength and skills come entirely from training, yet she kicks about as much ass as Wolverine, a roughly 180-year-old veteran warrior with an indestructible skeleton, metal claws, and an enhanced healing factor.
* BattleButler: To the Yashida Clan (more specifically, to Mariko). [[spoiler:By the end of the movie, she's also one for Wolverine]].
* BlessedWithSuck: Her mutant power allows her to foresee a person's death (including that of her own parents), but she can't do anything to prevent it from happening.
* BodyguardingABadass: Yukio to Logan: "Think of me as your bodyguard." [[OneManArmy Wolverine]] just eyerolls and goes with it. It's understandable in this case because Logan isn't used to fighting without his HealingFactor. The "everyone can use back up" reason is employed.
* BreakoutCharacter: She is the most popular among the new characters introduced in ''Film/TheWolverine''.
* CharacterEstablishingMoment: She introduces herself in a bar brawl and proves competent enough to protect Logan. She later helps him fight Viper.
* ColorCodedCharacters: She has an affinity for [[FieryRedhead fiery red]].
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Her first premonition was her parent's death, and after she was forced to watch it come true, she became a street urchin scavenging for food until Ichiro Yashida found her and adopted her under his wing.
* DeadpanSnarker: Being Wolverine's companion, you have to speak his language...
* DiagonalCut: Her introduction of the centuries-old katana ''Danzan'' qualifies, as she draws, fluidly cuts, and resheathes the blade [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxnhtCQC13E before either the bar stool or the beer bottle being held by a bar patron comes apart]].
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: She walks in a bar, [[DeadpanSnarker quips on the idiocy]] of Wolverine's foes (and that they'll be dead soon, as per her seer powers), then proceeds to [[CurbStompBattle effortlessly]] puts them on their place. Yukio then walks away unfazed as if she does that on a daily basis.
* FieryRedhead: Although it's clearly not her natural hair color.
* IaijutsuPractitioner: We barely see her unsheathe her sword and then the sword's already back on sheath. Cue sliced objects collapsing.
* TheLadette: Demonstrates traits of this, with her tough-as-nails attitude and apparent lack of organization (notice her car is a complete mess when Wolverine arrives, and she doesn't seem bothered in the least by it).
* TheLancer: Logan's in ''The Wolverine''.
* OnlyFriend: She was adopted from the streets with the specific task of serving as this to a young Mariko. Mariko however always saw more her as a sister.
* OnlyOneName: Given she lived in the streets, she might not even know her surname.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: Comparatively to the rest of the cast.
* TheReliableOne: Again, for Mariko. [[spoiler:For instance, when Mariko is on the run from the Yakuza, the only person she tells about her whereabouts is Yukio]].
* {{Seers}}: She knows when, where and how a person will die.
* ServileSnarker: Towards [[{{Jerkass}} Shingen]] [[CorruptCorporateExecutive Yashida]].
* SkunkStripe: Strands of her natural hair color is still visible.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: She is the Tomboy to Mariko's Girly Girl.
* TomboyishName: Yukio is more commonly a male name.
* UndyingLoyalty: To Mariko.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: She's last seen riding off into the sunset with Logan in ''The Wolverine'', but is nowhere to be seen in ''Days of Future Past''. Given the grim prognosis for all mutants in the dark future of that film, her fate is unlikely to be a pleasant one.
* WhenSheSmiles: Gives a very bright, lovely smile [[spoiler:at the very end of the film, when she and Logan are about to leave Japan and ride a plane somewhere else]].
* WomanInBlack: Mostly her combat outfits.
* ZettaiRyouiki: She has a grade B when she first confronts Logan in the beginning of ''Film/TheWolverine''.

[[folder:En Sabah Nur / Apocalypse]]
!!En Sabah Nur / ComicBook/{{Apocalypse}}
[[quoteright:300:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/apocalypse_6.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:300:''"[[AGodAmI No more false gods. I'm here now.]]"'']]
->'''Played By:''' Creator/OscarIsaac, Berdj Garabedian, and Brendan Pedder
->'''Film Appearances:''' ''Film/XMenDaysOfFuturePast | Film/XMenApocalypse''

* TimeAbyss: Since he was young in the early days of Ancient Egypt, En Sabah Nur
page has been around for most of six thousand years '''at the least'''. According to Moira, some believe him to be ''tens of thousands'' of years old.
-->'''Apocalypse''': I was there to spark and fan the flame of man's awakening... to spin the wheel of civilization...
split. Please see:

* VillainTeleportation: It's one of his numerous mutant abilities.
Characters/XMenFilmSeriesOtherMutantsOriginalTimeline

* NotTheFallThatKillsYou: Manages to survive falling hundreds of feet in the air from the abandoned X jet by thrusting her psionic blade into a building to decelerate.

This part is emphasized during his fights with Nightcrawler, the poster boy for DarkIsNotEvil, as it's essentially a good demon fighting against an evil angel.

->'''Played By:''' Svetlana Khodchenkova
->'''Film Appearances:''' ''Film/TheWolverine''

->'''Shingen:''' What are you?\\
'''Viper:''' A [[HotScientist chemist]], a [[StrawNihilist nihilist]], a [[OnlyInItForTheMoney capitalist]], a [[PoisonousPerson mutation]]...a ''viper.''

A mutant who is immune to toxins as well as having snake-like qualities.
----
* AdaptationDyeJob: She has blond hair rather than green like in the comics.
* AdaptedOut: Since [[Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse Marvel Studios]] has the rights to ComicBook/{{HYDRA}}, Viper has no connections to the organization in ''The Wolverine''.
* GeniusBruiser: Implied since she's a scientist.
* StrawNihilist: She mentions being a nihilist... of course, she also mentions being a capitalist.
* WorthyOpponent: She's rather impressed by Logan.

[[quoteright:300:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yukio_xmen_films_8958.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:300:''"Just think of me as your bodyguard."'']]
->'''Played By:''' Creator/RilaFukushima
->'''Film Appearances:''' ''Film/TheWolverine''

A Japanese employee of Ichirō Yashida who lived on the streets following her parents' death until she was taken in by the Yashidas. Her mutant ability is a precognitive sense that allows her to glimpse the moment of a person's death (albeit hazily and without context). Otherwise she is a talented and nimble martial artist and swordsman who is a constant ally of Mariko.
----
* AdaptationalHeroism: Was much more morally ambiguous in the comics (especially in earlier appearances, where she was a mercenary/assassin/thief) than in the movie.
* AdaptationDyeJob: She sports natural black hair in the comics, but has dyed red hair in ''Film/TheWolverine''.
* UndyingLoyalty: To Mariko.
