It gives him the ability to undo Phenomena Intervention, as well as the limited ability to perform it himself. The price of using Kusanagi is 'shared existence; any wound he receives in one timeline will be inflicted on all of them.

It turns out his body contains the Original Grimoire, an ancient and powerful artifact that can access the power of the Black Beast, which lets him absorb life energy with Soul Eater or power himself up with [[TitleDrop XBlaze]] but can turn him into the Black Beast if he loses control. At the end of ''Code: Embryo'', he starts wielding Es’s Vow Crystal Seal Blade: Murakumo.

Since she has no experience outside of combat, she is initially very quiet and emotionless, but the wider range of experiences she gains while guarding Touya allow her to begin acting more human. She wields the Vow Crystal Seal Blade: Murakumo, a Legacy Weapon that can easily destroy a Union’s Crystal.

* RobotGirl: Chronologically, the first of many in the whole [[VideoGame/BlazBlue]] series. She is a Manifest Boundary Contact Prime Field Device, created to [[spoiler:house the Embryo]]. She was also seemingly made to explore the Boundary once the Wadatsumi Gate was opened since [[spoiler:she was able to survive being thrown into the Boundary and even traverse it to find the Master Unit]].

A member of the Ten Sages who has the number 3. He is also a philospher in discussing what is correct for the Ten Sages to do. He has a serious nature, and likes to figure out what to do during a makeshift power struggle regardless of loyalty. Once Sechs was accepted into the Ten Sages, Drei began to feel a little fanatic for some apparent reason.

* UnderestimatingBadassery: [[spoiler:He dies in every route because he under-estimates Ripper and Avenge.]]

** She is also one of Rachel, mainly in design. They are both considered very beautiful and, because they are short, are said to have a doll-like appearance and often [[PimpedOutDress wear fancy dresses]] that make them [[ElegantGothicLolita Elegant Gothic Lolitas]]. They both serve as the {{Herald}} to the protagonist thus beginning his journey and are both in love with him (although it's just very heavily implied in case for Rachel). This becomes more prominent in ''Lost: Memories'' since both of them [[spoiler: being forced to repeatedly watch the person they love die tragically no matter how many times the events repeated, unable to take action to save them]]. They also both have a connection to [[spoiler: Tsukuyomi]].

* CoDragons: TheDragon to Sechs alongside Drei. [[spoiler:She briefly becomes the sole Dragon after Drei’s death]].

* CompositeCharacter: of Seven (proficient in ice magic) and Eight (her general FemmeFatale vibe) from ''BlazbluePhaseShift''.

* MadeOfIron: The seithr from the Original Grimoire has made him much tougher able to survive being hit by powerful spells like Mei’s [[ShockAndAwe Raijyu Shourai]] and Kuon’s [[PlayingWithFire Flamme Lichtstrahl]] with the only effect being that he says they actually hurt a little bit. Even Kuon and Elise’s most powerful attack, [[CombinationAttack Soul]] [[DeathFromAbove Direction]] is only able to do a little bit of damage to him. Unfortunately for him this only applies to his body. His Crystal is just as vulnerable to the Murakumo and its [[BloodyMurder blood replica]] as any other.

* PowerParasite: Absorbing the seithr from Touya’s Original Grimoire also gives him some of the power of the Grimoire itself in the form of the XBlaze.

* EnemyWithout: For Kiri. He is controlled by Ripper’s soul, which got separated from his boy when he was revived. Thus he is the evil trying to merge back with Kiri to take control. Played with in that it was Ripper’s body in the first place and it’s the creation of the good Kiri personality that forces him to manifest separately.

* SealedEvilInACan: The doll houses Ripper's soul. Much like Terumi and Kazuma in BlazBluePhaseShift, he directs Kiri to hunt "bad guys" so one day he can merge with his own reanimated corpse.

* ActuallyNotAVampire: [[spoiler:He bites his victims’ necks with sharp fangs, leading to the rumors of him being a vampire. There are actual vampires in this universe ([[VideoGame/BlazBlue the Alucards) and Kiri has nothing to do with them. He is actually a Union who drains seithr from his victims as opposed to drinking blood]]]].

* CreepyCoolCrosses: His scars are cross-shaped.

* DyingAsYourself: [[spoiler:After his Crystal is destroyed, destroying Freaks’s soul in the process, Kiri resurfaces to talk to Es once more. Subverted in that he is shown to have survived even without the Crystal]].

[[spoiler:He is an overall kind and decent person, if a bit anti-social, who is meant to serve as a vessel for the AxCrazy villain who is stuck without a body. Said villain manipulates him so that they can fuse together, with the villain’s personality taking control]].

* HeroWithAnFInGood: He wants to be a hero but doesn’t really understand how to do that. The only way he knows how to be a hero is to “kill the bad guys.” Unfortunately, what makes someone a “bad guy” to him is [[spoiler:Brain Cat says is one, which means innocent people are the supposed “bad guys” and Touya is the BigBad]].
* HeroicWannabe: All he wants is to be a hero and save the world and regain his memories. The problem with this is he doesn’t have a good understanding of how to actually go about this.

* NervousWreck: He is easily startled. Everyone time [[spoiler:Es]] approaches him he freaks out and falls down, saying [[spoiler:she]] scared him because he didn’t see [[spoiler:her]] coming.

* DualWielding: Freaks uses his Scissors Hands to create blades on both of his hands at the same time, something Ripper never could do (or at least never chose to do).

* {{Expy}}: Of Yuki Terumi, specifically as he appears in ''Chrono Phantasma'' and ''Central Fiction''. He has abandoned most of the pretense of being FauxAffablyEvil and is nothing but pure violence and brutality, adding [[CastingAShadow darkness-based powers]] to his arsenal. [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking He even starts wearing a hood]].

* LightningBruiser: Just like Ripper only worse since the power of the Original Grimoire makes him even strong, faster and significantly more durable.

* TermsOfEndangerment: Likes to affix “chan” to people’s names (Es-chan, Touya-chan, Mei-chan etc.) while taunting them. He drops this for Touya, calling him “Touya Kagara,” [[FullNameUltimatum when he is serious]].

* NoOneGetsLeftBehind: A firm believer in this. He is absolutely '''furious''' when Es tells him they should run away from Acht, who had kidnapped Hinata, and then tries to ShootTheHostage, going so far as to say he can’t even look at her face after what she did.Evetually they made up though.

He is absolutely furious that she would even consider [[NoOneGetsLeftBehind sacrificing Hinata so they could escape]], yelling at her for only caring about saving him and telling her to stay away from him since he can’t even stand looking at her face after what she did.Thankfully they reconiled.
* WistfulAmnesia: At the end of ''Code: Embryo'' [[spoiler:after Es [[RetGone removes herself from the timeline]] Touya starts crying, feeling that someone is missing but he doesn’t know why]]. In ''Lost: Memories'' he visits the Restricted Ward where he first encountered a Union [[spoiler: he reminisces about the event but realizes he can’t remember who it was that saved him. Afterwards, when he finds the now human Es, he calls out her name despite not actually remembering her. It is unclear whether or not he regained his memories of her by the end of the game]]. It's all implied to be the work of ThePowerOfLove.[[spoiler: Though Es does tell her orgins to both Mei and him so it seems likely that accepted it easily so it's a slow start.]]

She tells Kuon that even though Sechs doesn’t care about her and her sacrifices at all, she has to follow him for her own sake and the love she feels, [[NotSoDifferent much like Kuon has to keep chasing after Sechs trying to convince him to surrender and return to Ishana despite him [[spoiler:killing their father]] without remorse and trying to kill her]].

* MsFanservice: Par excellence. Her outfit offers BareYourMidriff, OfCorsetsSexy, ThongOfShielding, FurAndLoathing and CombatStilettos. Combine that with her FemmeFatale personality and she can easily rival the likes of Litchi, Makoto and Bullet.

* NotSoDifferent: She says this about herself and Kuon. [[spoiler:They are both driven by their love for Sechs and are willing to [[PowerAtAPrice life-risking powers]] because of it. They are also painfully aware that Sechs doesn’t care about them anymore but are determined to chase him regardless]].
* OfCorsetsSexy: In her Ten Sages outfit the only thing she wears that remotely resembles covers any part of her torso is a tiny blue corset that reveals most of her midriff and only covers the lower half of her breasts.

* WistfulAmnesia: At the end of ''Code: Embryo'' [[spoiler:after Es [[RetGone removes herself from the timeline]] Touya starts crying, feeling that someone is missing but he doesn’t know why]]. In ''Lost: Memories'' he visits the Restricted Ward where he first encountered a Union [[spoiler: he reminisces about the event but realizes he can’t remember who it was that saved him. Afterwards, when he finds the now human Es, he calls out her name despite not actually remembering her. It is unclear whether or not he regained his memories of her by the end of the game]]. It's all implied to be the work of ThePowerOfLove.

* TheRival: Mei starts to see her as this. Notable at the end of ''Lost: Memories'' where Mei says she has to [[spoiler:create her new organization to destroy the other Gates]] so she won’t fall behind Kuon who [[spoiler:has been selected to join the Ten Sages]].
