* TookALevelInKindness: After returning in season 8, he's a lot nicer, having gotten his act together. He and Musa start dating again because of this.

* TookALevelInJerkass: While he never goes full on evil like in season 1, Riven becomes a ''lot'' nastier in as the show goes on, at least until he is PutOnABus in season 6. This is ultimately one of the main reasons he and Musa break up. Riven realizes that if he doesn't get his shit together, he's going to end up back in the same position he was in during season 1.

Roy is a Specialist from Andros and an assistant to Aisha's father. He is introduced in season 5. At first, he serves as a yacht driver for the Winx (until they learn how to drive it themselves), but afterwards he sticks around and helps the group while courting Aisha, who he has a crush on. By the end of season 5, she seems to reciprocate his feelings. [[spoiler: But [[RomanticRunnerUp it doesn't work out for him in the end]], because next season she falls in love with [[TheRival Nex]].]]

* DistressedDude: The specialists aren't weak, but their strength has remained stagnant in comparison to their girlfriends, who regularly get power ups every season resulting in a power gap between them. This is most easily noticed when they get overpowered and subdued by an antagonist it seems every season and need to get rescued by their girlfriends.
