* HeroesPreferFire: Bloom's fire magic comes from a sacred energy called the Dragon's Flame, the last remnant of power from a creator deity known as the Great Dragon. She uses the Dragon's Flame to counteract the forces of evil and her most frequently recurring enemy is the ice-wielding evil witch Icy.

** Flora has [[GreenThumb vegetation]] and [[DishingOutDirt earth]]. She also has a dash of [[BlowingYouAway wind]].

* Logical Weakness: Although she can conjure light in an extremely dark areas, she needs exposure to a source of light. Underground areas such as Downland and the caves of Lord Darkar's fortress leave her both magically weak and physically ill. She even sleeps with a lamp on in her dark room in "Faraway Reflections"

* LightEmUp: Provides the page image. Her powers come from the sun (mostly) and her attacks consist of casting beams of light. She can also concentrate her energy to make herself glow brightly in dark places. Stella can create streaks of solar energy and is able to create explosions of sunlight that can leave the opponent "[[BlindedByTheLight temporarily blind]]". She can shape sunlight into barriers and shields, which is extremely useful. She can conjure light in any area, no matter how dark.

* LightEmUp: Provides the page image. Her powers come from the sun (mostly) and her attacks consist of casting beams of light. She can also concentrate her energy to make herself glow brightly in dark places. Stella can create streaks of solar energy and is able to create explosions of sunlight that can leave the opponent temporarily blind. She can shape sunlight into barriers and shields, which is extremely useful. She can conjure light in any area, no matter how dark.

** StarPower: Like her name sake, she also draws her energy from stars even creating miniature starlights in the Season 4 premire

** Telepathy: She can communicate with other inhabitatnts of Melody by mentally releasing soundwaves and develops a mental connection with her fairy animal.
*** The Empath: After becoming a guardian fairy, Musa states she can hear/sing the secret song in a person's heart and in a comic issue she was able to understand and explain the memories and feelings of two monsters.

* OddFriendship:
** Tecna and her best friend, Musa. Tecna is logical, rational and doesn't make a move without careful calculation, while Musa is more free-spirited and spontaneous.

* TraumaCongaLine: Getting hurt, being often targeted by villains; Her Pixie friends are kidnapped by Lord Darkar before season 2 begins and she nearly gets personally killed by him in an attempt to save them in her debut. Then Valtor attacking her planet and also using a curse that leaves her temporarily blind. Then she is being forced into an ArrangedMarriage by her parents. Then her boyfriend dying in front of her.... One of her cousins is the BigBad of season 5 and in the final he kidnaps her to try to absorb her Sirenix power.... She easily has the worst life of all the main characters.

Aisha (called Layla in all third-party dubs) is the Fairy of Waves, and the princess of Andros. She has the ability to rearrange a substance called Morphix (sometimes referred to as plasma) into all sorts of objects and weapons.

** This also extends to her magic domain, in the original dub she is the Fairy of Fluids, but in the Nickelodeon dub she is the Fairy of Waves.

** Played straight in season 7 and ''WesternAnimation/WorldOfWinx'', which sees her manipulate water on at least two occasions.

** Subverted. While Aisha comes from an ocean-based realm, and seems connected to water, her powers come from plasma, which appears in the show to be shiny, sticky, pink clay which she herself defines as Morphix. This is very evident in season 4 when, twice, the girls had to stop a housefire and Aisha could not use her powers to douse it. Her Sophix seems to give her this power, though.
** Played straight in season 7, which sees her manipulate water on at least two occasions.
** Equally played straight in ''WesternAnimation/WorldOfWinx''.

* PerfectlyArrangedMarriage: Her parents arrange to marry Nabu, even though she's never even met him and is vehemently opposed to the marriage. When she meets Nabu under the disguise of Ophir, the two fall in love, though the parents decide to cancel the marriage anyway. [[spoiler: And then he ''dies''.]]

* HeroicSacrifice: Although as mentioned above, all Winx except Bloom do this as proof that they need to do in order to obtain the Enchantix power, Tecna stands out in particular for being the one who makes the largest and most disinterested sacrifice among all of them as she sacrifices herself to save Aisha's entire homeworld (and presumably the entire magical dimension) to permanently close the omega portal, seemingly losing her own life when the portal sucks her into its dimension. Conversely, Aisha, Stella, Musa and Flora earn their Enchantix by saving a single person they are related to.

* JerkassBall: Although at a lesser extent than Stella, Bloom can be a bit of a brat or act rather self-centered at times. This is fairly evident in S4-S6 where Bloom is essentially a BlackHoleSue with the most egregious examples being her very one sided rivalries with later season antagonists AND having a fairy form named/powered by her.

** Flora is actually said to be the princess of Linphea in ''Magical Adventure'' but it's unclear how canon this is. Similar to Techna, Flora is implied to be a princess in the comics (Bloom often refers to her friends as princesses and she doesn't have the money problems Bloom and Musa have), but this is somewhat unclear.

* JerkassBall: Although at a lesser extent than Stella, Bloom can be a bit of a brat or act rather self-centered at times.

Stella is the Fairy of the Shining Sun, and the princess of Solaria, a place she speaks highly of. She is considered a delinquent at Alfea for her antics, which is why she's a year older than her class. Because she's so self-conscious about her physical appearance, Stella may come off as being vain, but still cares deeply about her friends. Her powers come from the sun and the moon.

* {{Lunacy}}: Although overshadowed by her more glaring spells based on the sun and stars, Stella is also known as the moon fairy and her magic on this satellite appears to manifest itself metaphorically in the form of MagicMirror spells (after all it is said that the moon can not help but reflect the light of the sun as it has no light of its own).

* ThePowerOfTheSun: Due to Stella being from Solaria, she is majorly affected by the Sun. She gains her energy from the sun and is heavily weakened when in very dark places or underground.

* StarPower: Since many stars are very distant suns, Stella draws many of her magical powers from them in the same way as she does from the sun.
* StellarName: Also a MeaningfulName: Stella means Star, and Stella's power comes from the sun, which is a star.

* NatureEqualsPlants: Flora carries the title "Fairy of Nature" and uses plant-based magic. This is distinguished from Bloom's fire magic, Stella's solar and lunar magic, Aisha's water magic, and Stormy's weather magic.

* MakeSomeNoise: Musa's powers are connected not just with music but the actual power of sound waves and sonic pressure. She can manipulate other elements by creating sonic booms which cause rumbling and things to crash. She can also create sonic vibes and pulses which charge through the air like energy blasts.

* ADayInTheLimeight: The ninth episode of the second season focuses on her trying to find about Professor Avalon's secret.
