* CoolBigBro: Peter cares deeply about Joey, even if he leads him down some bad paths at times, though this is only done more out of entertainment rather than malice.
* DeadpanSnarker: He has his moments.

* AscendedExtra: In the original incarnation of the series, Joey didn't appear until Part 7 and never said a word. In the revised version he appears from Part 1 and has his own lines.

[[folder:Shirley Crispin]]

Ryan's next door neighbour who works as a prostitute in order to help bring in money for her son, Shaun.

to:

[[folder:Shirley Crispin]]

Ryan's next door neighbour
[[folder:Danny Dyer]]

One of Mark's classmates
who works as a prostitute in order to help bring in money for her son, Shaun.often espouses lurid stories of his dad's sexual escapades.

Added DiffLines:

* AscendedExtra: In the original incarnation of the series, Danny was never shown and only mentioned by name on a few occasions. In the revised version he appears from Part 1 and has his own lines.
* DirtyKid: Danny wears his knowledge of smut and filth almost as a badge of honour, enthusiastically regaling to his friends his dad's sexual exploits with his various girlfriends in a sickening amount of detail.
* DysfunctionalFamily: Big time. All Danny ever talks about is how his dad has lots of weird sex with his various girlfriends, which, as described by Jinny, is all to compensate for the fact that his wife walked out on him for another man.
* FanDisservice: His disgustingly detailed descriptions of what his dad and his girlfriends get up to at night can be off-putting.
* FatalFlaw: His fixation on sex and need to share his experience with those around him, no matter how young.
* FreudianExcuse: Danny's almost fascination with sex can be attributed to the fact that his own biological mother left the family for a used car salesman, while his father fills the void left in his life with meaningless sex. To that end, Danny probably has a very low opinion of women, and thus sees them not as people and more just objects to be studied, especially in the sack.
* {{Jerkass}}: Shows elements of this in how he speaks to Mark, showing that their friendship may be based less on an actual accord, and more on Danny's own experiences fuelling Mark's own sexual obsession.
* ParentalNeglect: Danny is apparently the victim of this, as his dad appears to be more fixated on satisfying his sexual needs rather than raising his son properly.

* BigBrotherBully: Is shown to be this partly to Joey, when after losing the basketball game to Ryan after Joey's distraction, he chases down his younger brother threatening to give him a wedgie.
* BigBrotherInstinct: Looks after his younger brothers, but has a propensity to lead them as quickly into trouble as he does out of it.

Added DiffLines:

* ChildishOlderSibling: Though Peter is the older sibling of Joey, he shows a somewhat perverse sense of humour and is happy to lead his younger brother into shenanigans.
* ClassClown: Is shown to not take a single thing seriously, and also prides himself on being something of a practical joker.
* DirtyKid: Has a very crooked sense of humour, as demonstrated when he and Joey find Shirley servicing a client in a Cadillac, and decides that the best way to interrupt this moment is to drop his pants and take a pee on the windscreen.

Added DiffLines:

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Joey Lees]]

Peter's younger brother and close friend of Mark's.
----
* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: Is shown to be this marginally to Peter, as when he and Ryan are playing basketball, Joey roots for Ryan, which ultimately distracts his brother and leads Ryan to steal the ball and win.
* DirtyKid: Is easily led by his older brother, as is the case when he and Peter find Shirley servicing a client in a Cadillac, Joey following his sibling's lead by dropping his pants and take a pee on the windscreen as a practical joke.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Shirley Crispin]]

Ryan's next door neighbour who works as a prostitute in order to help bring in money for her son, Shaun.
----
* AllLovingHeroine: While she is a prostitute, this doesn't mean that Shirley has no heart to her at all, and is kind enough to look after Ryan and Mark when the occasion calls for it.
* AscendedExtra: In the original incarnation of the series, she had basically no character aside from a few appearances here and there. In the revised series, we get to see a lot more of her life and profession, as well as the pivotal role she plays in helping Jinny raise Ryan and Mark.
* ButtMonkey: As a prostitute, she often faces the wrath of her clients, either because it's something they sexually enjoy, or because they're mad at her, as is the case when Peter and Joey pull a prank on her and her trick when she's servicing him in the car.
* DeadpanSnarker: She has her moments.
* DumbBlonde: Totally inverted. While she is a hooker, she clearly has a brain in her head as she sees the whole situation with a real sense of objectivity, knowing that it's all for the money and that there's more to life than just servicing clients. She also has the good sense to take on looking after Ryan and Mark when the situation calls for it.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Demonstrated in that, while she performs some of the most depraved acts imaginable and getting paid for it, she insists that she only services clients in their cars, and doesn't bring them into her house where Shaun is.
* ExtremeDoormat: Only when she's at the mercy of her clients.
* FriendToAllChildren: Shirley is shown early on that, even though she's much older than the younger characters of the series, she takes the time to look after and interact with them, walking Ryan, Mark, Peter and Joey back from the park, looking after Mark when Jinny had to take Ryan to the hospital, and escorting Ryan and Simon to the park again.
* GirlyGirlWithATomboyStreak: While she has to look the part of a girly girl for her clients, underneath she's quite a tomboy, but tomboys don't have the same attractiveness when it comes to being a hooker.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: She has long, blonde hair, and is one of the sweetest characters in the series despite her choice of career.
* HookerWithAHeartOfGold: Played straight. Her profession is a prostitute, her attitude is kindly and generous to those closest to her.
* NiceGirl: While being a prostitute could make her embittered, and it does to a point, she never lets this get in the way of her being a genuine soul who cares for those closest to her.
* SingleMomStripper: She keeps her son Shaun ignorant about what she actually does for a living, preferring to service her clients in their cars rather than bringing them inside her house.
* SmarterThanYouLook: At face value, one would imagine that, because Shirley's a prostitute, there's absolutely nothing going on between her ears. In fact, she's a very intelligent and wise young woman with her own philosophy and outlook on life that has been directed by her past mistakes so as to do what's best for her young son.

Lees]]

Ryan's childhood friend from Baltimore, who prides himself on being something of a petty criminal.his mischief.

* AmbiguousCriminalHistory: Peter is shown to have committed certain crimes in the past, but the details as to how he accomplished these is left largely unexplained.
* AntiVillain: Fundamentally, Peter is kind, amiable and a good friend to Ryan despite their many differences, but at the end of the day is still a crook.
* TheArtfulDodger: Is known to have pickpocketed his dad at least once, and may have done the same to others.
* {{Blackmail}}: Peter dabbles in this at the end of Part 7, when, after encountering an apparently rich, married man having an affair with his secretary, he makes a deal to protect his expensive Lincoln Continental in exchange for payment, otherwise Peter would slash its tires.
* BrainyBrunette: Peter is not only a brunette, but also displays an incredible amount of cunning for his age in order to help rip people off.
* BrilliantButLazy: Peter is shown to be clearly intelligent, and has quick, improvised workarounds for any problem he may encounter, but instead of putting his brains to use in a more legitimate way, he chooses to make his money through get-rich-quick thievery and scams.
* {{Delinquents}}: While Peter does have a home, he appears to spend more of his time out in the street committing petty crimes.
* EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas: As a petty thief, Peter isn't exactly a paradigm of human morality. However, as shown through the interactions with his brothers, he appears to show a certain degree of care for them.
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: When first introduced, Peter has hair that is neatly kept and arguably shorter than Ryan's, while in later installments he is seen to have let his hair go long and curly, a metaphor both for growing up and for the more disheveled lifestyle of a petty thief he now pursues.
* FellOffTheBackOfATruck: Peter claims that the $20 in his possession just 'happened' to fall out of his dad's jacket pocket.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Despite being a thief and petty criminal, Peter is a good friend to Ryan and a caring brother to his younger siblings.
* KarmicThief: Debatable. While Peter has stolen from his dad, the blackmail he performs on the adulterous rich man in order to protect his shiny new Lincoln could be considered justified.
* LonghairedPrettyBoy: When he reappears in Part 7, Peter has allowed his hair to grow long and curly.
* ProtectionRacket: Peter runs a one-boy protection swindle against an adulterous man, threatening that, in exchange for keeping his expensive, luxury Lincoln Continental intact, he will receive $50 for each time the man and his secretary have their trysts at a seedy inner city hotel.
* SatisfiedStreetRat: Peter has absolutely no qualms with the life he leads on the streets of Baltimore, and apparently sees no moral implications as to his criminal ways.
* SmokingIsCool: Peter, upon reaching his teenage years, has taken up smoking, probably to help with his bad boy image.
* StreetSmart: Peter quite clearly knows his way around Baltimore's seedy heart, and is able to exploit the severe lack of law enforcement to make money.
* StickyFingers: Keep your hands in your pockets when Peter's around, because their more valuable contents won't be there for long.
* SuspiciousSpending: Played with. Peter steals $20 from his dad's jacket, and then spends it with his friends, Ryan and Frank, as soon as possible in order to cover up his crime.

[[folder: Rebecca 'Becky' Paul]] [[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/becky_begs_to_differ.png]]

A childhood friend of Janie back in Sherman, Connecticut who likes to tease her about the relationship she has with Ryan.
----
* BestFriend: While Ryan is Janie's best male friend, Rebecca is likely Janie's best friend overall due to their childhood connection.
* ChildhoodFriends: Though it's not known how long Janie and Rebecca have known each other, their connection indicates it has been at least since elementary school.
* FriendlyWar: The constant teasing by Rebecca regarding a possible romance between Janie and Ryan could constitute as one.
* HiddenDepths: Rebecca is illustrated to be a talented violinist, to which she and Ryan put on a show at her house when the group are visiting.
* HonoraryTrueCompanion: Within the square of Ryan, Janie, Mark and Natasha, Rebecca is something of an outlier, but is accepted regardless due to her childhood friendship with Janie.
* ImportantHairAccessory: Rebecca is nearly always seen wearing a hairband.
* ShipperOnDeck: Rebecca constantly teases Janie as to a possible love blossoming between her and Ryan, something that Janie emphatically denies.

[[folder:Father Moynihan]][[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/father_narrate.png]]

The fiery preacher of Ryan's local church in Baltimore.
----
* AsTheGoodBookSays: Regarding his perception, more like what the good book doesn't say. His sermons are fiery and full of hate, stating that God looks dimly on the weak and useless, and instead empowers the worthy.
* CorruptChurch: Against the word of the bible, Father Moynihan uses his church in Baltimore as a means of spreading divine fear among his congregation while also using it as a platform to speak out against what he considers the vices that are ruining society.
* DarkShepherd: Father Moynihan instils the fear of god into his followers through threats of eternal damnation for those who are misled, weak or useless.
* PrayerOfMalice: The teaching's Father Moynihan, who instils fear into his congregation while condemning the weak and useless to everlasting damnation.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Anthony 'Nico' Nicoletti]] [[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nicolettie_leads.png]]

The gruff, no-nonsense landlord of Ryan's new apartment building after his family is forced to move.
----
* AntiHero: Nico, while he can be a nice man to those he respects, is generally a largely rough, curt and unpleasant person, quick to turn to violence when necessary, and not open to the concept of politeness. Then again, considering his past and surroundings, it's no wonder the finer aspects of his character have been lost.
* BloodKnight: Despite his experiences, Nico seems to show almost a longing for his time in Vietnam.
* CharacterDevelopment: When first introduced, Nico is largely ambivalent to Jinny and the two boys, simply considering them just another tenant in his wrecked apartment building. However, after helping to defend them from Simon's wrath, a friendship quickly develops as he realises their situation and that they're not like the usual junkies he has deposited in his building.
* CoolShades: Nico is not often seen without his sunglasses, although he does take them off while indoors.
* HeteronormativeCrusader: To a point with Nico. While he violently threatens to mutilate Phil for attempting to make off with his 5-year-old nephew and a pre-teen Ryan, there's nothing to say he has anything against gays in general.
* RetiredBadass: Nico was formerly a Master Sergeant in the 101st Airborne, and saw combat in Vietnam. Now he's a landlord running an apartment building in the slums of Baltimore.
* StoryboardBody: Without a word, Nico's tattoos illustrate both his Vietnam service, including two insignia for the 101st Airborne, and his hatred for communism, depicted through an underwear clad girl riding an atomic bomb while waving the American flag, emblazoned with the message 'Nuke Hanoi!'.
* TheVietnamVet: Nico once fought in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne alongside his best friend, Tucker, and even has a picture of his fighting days on his wall.

[[folder:Floyd the Butcher]] [[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/floyd_is_mad.png]]

A local Polish butcher in Baltimore that meets a grizzly fate.
----
* AlasPoorScrappy: After Floyd has been shot, Ryan, Peter and their brothers, as well as a passing woman, are shocked by the sudden death of Floyd, even though his last words were angry reprimands against them for cracking open a fire hydrant for some much needed fun in the summer heat.
* AssholeVictim: While not much is known of Floyd, his last actions before his death are him yelling angrily at Ryan, Peter and their brothers for the simple act of cracking open a fire hydrant in order to go swimming in the summer heat. They weren't harming anyone, but it was apparently enough to elicit an angry response from the butcher.
* ChildHater: Clearly not a fan of children, especially when they're just having some fun and generally inconveniencing him.
* DeathIsASadThing: As the first time Mark has witnessed death, the death of Floyd comes as an immediate shock to him, but in later years seems to have come to terms with it, likely due to having seen more killings since then.
* DeathIsSuchAnOddThing: Ryan and Mark appear to be somewhat ambivalent to witnessing Floyd's death, mainly because, while they did know him personally, they didn't know him that well.
* KilledMidSentence: Floyd is barely through his tirade when the mafia interrupt him, permanently.
* LastWords:
--> Floyd: "I am not 'your man', Peter Lees, and if you don't fix that fire hydrant right now, you and your stupid friends and brothers are gonna get it in the nec..."
* LoanShark: Floyd is revealed to have been in deep with a protection racket, the non-payment of which results in his demise.
* TheScrappy: Floyd is a notably unlikable character due to his anger at the kids for just having fun in a way that doesn't affect him directly, but to say his presence in the series is short-lived is an understatement.
* SurprisinglySuddenDeath: Right in the middle of Floyd's tirade against the kids, he is very suddenly gunned down by a pair of mobsters in a passing car for unpaid protection debts.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: Having failed to pay his mobster protection agents, they consider that they can do without his unpaid debts.

A local Polish butcher in Baltimore that meets a grizzly fate. The gruff, no-nonsense landlord of Ryan's new apartment building after his family is forced to move.

Added DiffLines:

* BrilliantButLazy: Peter is shown to be clearly intelligent, and has quick, improvised workarounds for any problem he may encounter, but instead of putting his brains to use in a more legitimate way, he chooses to make his money through get-rich-quick thievery and scams.

Added DiffLines:

* EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas: As a petty thief, Peter isn't exactly a paradigm of human morality. However, as shown through the interactions with his brothers, he appears to show a certain degree of care for them.
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: When first introduced, Peter has hair that is neatly kept and arguably shorter than Ryan's, while in later installments he is seen to have let his hair go long and curly, a metaphor both for growing up and for the more disheveled lifestyle of a petty thief he now pursues.

Ryan's local church in Baltimore.childhood friend from Baltimore, who prides himself on being something of a petty criminal.

* Delinquents: While Peter does have a home, he appears to spend more of his time out in the street committing petty crimes.
* FellOffTheBackOfATruck: Peter claims that the $20 in his possession just 'happened' to fall out of his dad's jacket pocket.
* KarmicThief: Debatable. While Peter has stolen from his dad, the blackmail he performs on the adulterous rich man in order to protect his shiny new Lincoln could be considered justified.

A student at the Port Royal High School who takes an immediate dislike to Ryan due to his nervous disposition and lack of sporting prowess.
Ryan's local church in Baltimore.

* TheAce: Scott is athletic and strong, but these don't compare to the size of his ego.
* BigManOnCampus: Scott is considered to be 'leader' of the boys due to his outspoken personality and sporting prowess.
* BrutalHonesty: Scott tells it as it is, no sugarcoating.
* TheBrute: Scott seems to take great pleasure in abusing and insulting others.
* TheBully: Due to Ryan's less than acceptable physical stamina, Scott makes fun of the fact that he seems weak.
** He is also shown to pick on any of the other boys who he deems stupid or beneath him, such as Lars.
* BullyingADragon: When Ryan steps up to the plate on his first baseball game, Scott dismisses him as a 'faggot' and enjoys watching him fail to hit the first ball, not realizing that Ryan was hiding a superb swing that[[spoiler: scores the winning home run for the girl's team]].
* CantTakeCriticism: Scott refuses to allow Ryan's victory in baseball, despite the fact that he was the one who forced him onto the girl's team by refusing him a place on the boy's team.
** Touched on in Part 6 when, after he complains about being taught German in class, for which he claims that his grandfather "Didn't drag himself up Omaha Beach just so he could be taught Nazi", Janie retorts by describing her family's far more personal victimization at the hands of the Germans during World War II, and that she doesn't hold it against them anymore. Clearly with no logical comeback of his own, he chooses instead to just call her "a damn Jew" and tries to slap Ryan.
* {{Catchphrase}}: "Faggots!"
* DeadpanSnarker: He has no shortage of snide remarks for those who displease him.
--> Scott: (To Lars) You don't think, period!
* DehumanizingInsult: Constantly calls Ryan a 'faggot' even though the two boys barely know each other.
* DisruptingTheTheater: While the kids are watching a movie, Scott disrupts the merriment of the evening by making snide remarks to Ryan and Lars.
* DudeNotFunny!: Scott does this in Part 4 when he continues to make snide remarks and jibes at Ryan and Lars, despite the protests of those around him.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: His literal first words in the series are calling Ryan a 'faggot'.
* TheGadfly: Scott appears to take great pleasure in antagonizing those around him.
* HatedByAll: While Scott appears to have some friends, the general consensus among those around him is that he's an arrogant, self-centered and bigoted young man who people only admire for his sporting prowess.
* HateSink: Scott, with the exception of his sporting abilities, isn't held in much esteem by those around him due to his arrogance.
** After mocking Ryan for consoling Lars after Scott made fun of him, Janie tells him to drop dead.
* HomophobicHateCrime: Scott, based on his insults, is clearly no advocate of the gay community.
** Brought up again in Part 4, when Scott calls Ryan and Lars homophobic names, and asking which one of them "takes it from behind".
* {{Jerkass}}: Scott.
* JerkassToOne: While he is cynical and snide to those around him, he seems to have a particular disdain for Ryan.
* JerkJock: Scott is both very sporty, but has a disdain for anyone who doesn't meet his high standards.
* KidsAreCruel: Scott seems to enjoy making Ryan sad, frequently calling him a 'faggot'.
* KickTheDog: Even after his team has lost the baseball game to Ryan and the other girls, Scott continues to call Ryan a 'faggot' just to upset him.
** Again after Ryan consoles Lars for Scott's insults, Scott continues to call the pair names and makes vulgar accusations.
* LackOfEmpathy: A major part of Scott's character, he doesn't like anyone who displeases him and he cares little for anyone's feelings.
* TheLeader: He appears to have a certain degree of leadership over the other 6th Grade boys, being in charge of their baseball team.
* LonersAreFreaks: His apparent impression of Ryan, seeing as Scott is someone who revels in attention while Ryan prefers solitude.
* MilitaryBrat: It's stated by Janie that his dad is a Major in the US Army Rangers, which she and Ryan believe might be the reason behind his arrogant nature.
** His military history is touched upon when he mentions his grandfather took part in the storming of Omaha Beach on D-Day.
* TheNapoleon: Scott's immediate dislike of Ryan may be due to the fact that Ryan is much taller than him.
* NeverMyFault: When trying to get Ryan out after hitting his superb high ball, Scott throws the ball to a kid that isn't tall enough to catch it, to which he, of course, puts the blame on the other kid for missing.
* TheNicknamer: So far, he hasn't addressed Ryan as anything other than 'faggot'.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: Scott likes to call Ryan a 'faggot' repeatedly, even though they don't really know each other.
* {{Pride}}: His defining flaw.
* TheRival: To Ryan; established almost immediately.
* SirSwearsALot: Not so much swearing as much as calling everyone who displeases him a 'faggot'.
* SmallNameBigEgo: His name has one syllable, but his ego is beyond description.
* SmugSuper: He's proud to be cool and often acts arrogant and boastful.
* StopHavingFunGuys: Attempts this after Ryan[[spoiler: scores the winning home run by dismissing his victory]], and then calling him a 'faggot'.
* TrashTalk: Likes to do it about Ryan.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Lars Holbrook]][[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lars_posing.png]]

Another student at Port Royal High School who, like Ryan, is something of an outcast due to his clumsiness, but gradually finds a friend in Ryan.
----

* AscendedExtra: Lars is initially introduced in Part 2, where he is firstly threatened by an upperclassman, and then accidentally knocks over Ryan during an experiment. From Part 4, though, his role is expanded as he and Ryan form a budding friendship.
** [[spoiler: Part 6 takes this further as he becomes Ryan's roommate after Janie moves out.]]
* CantTakeCriticism: Lars reacts poorly to a snide remark made by Scott during their movie night, but Ryan convinces him to stay before he can walk out in disgust.
* ChildrenAreInnocent: Lars is implied to be a little bit more naïve than his fellow classmates, hence why he showed up to their movie night in just his underwear, thinking that there'd be no problems with that.
* TheDitz: Lars is demonstrated to be a mite clumsy at times, including when he accidentally knocked another student into Ryan, causing him to knock over an experiment that nearly burnt down the science lab.
** In Part 6, Lars acknowledges that he is very clumsy, but Ryan doesn't seem to mind.
* ExtremeDoormat: From his appearances in Part 2 and 4, Lars is prone to being on the receiving end of other people's criticism, but does little to defend himself.
** Based on his words in Part 6, Lars' clumsiness often leads to abuse from his fellow classmates.
* NaiveNewcomer: All the kids in Ryan's grade are new to the school, but Lars appears to have more trouble settling in with the others due to his perceived clumsiness.
* TheNapoleon: Lars is a very small boy, much smaller than his classmates, therefore it's conceivable that his ability to be quickly hurt by other people's statements and threats is due to his diminutive size.
* TinySchoolboy: Compared to his fellow classmates, Lars is a very small kid, with Ryan being at least a foot taller than him.

[[folder:Fiona ‘Fee-Fee’ [=McEntire=]]][[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fee_fee_smug_face.png]]

Janie’s new roommate after she moves out of Ryan’s dorm at Port Royal, Fiona adds Southern flare to the classroom with her thick accent and love of her Texan heritage. At the same time, she rapidly establishes a friendly competitive spirit between herself and her roomie, and the two girls try to outdo one another wherever and whenever possible.
----

* AffectionateNickname: Almost everyone refers to her as Fee Fee.
* BeautifulSingingVoice: Demonstrated somewhat early on when she taunts Janie for her possible crush on Ryan, singing an excert from Robert Goulet's "My Love, Forgive Me (Amore, scusami)".
* BrutalHonesty: Fiona is the kind of girl who doesn't sugarcoat things, and will give her honest opinion regardless of who she's with or what the situation is.
* CountryMouse: Being from El Paso, Texas, her move from the deserts of the south to the bustling northeast is something of a change from her usual way of life.
* GoodOlBoy: A sympathetic gender swap. Though she often tries to eschew any stereotypes regarding her Texan origins, she still holds many of her cowgirl traits and heritage close to her heart.
* HiddenDepths: Fiona describes to Lars that she enjoys a good game of tennis with her mom after church.
* NamesTheSame: As a deliberate choice, described in detail on the comic's official website, Fiona's surname is actually based on country singer and actress Music/RebaMcEntire.
* NiceGirl: Like Janie, Fiona is accommodating, kind and friendly, doing what she can to help her roommate during her depression.
* NiceHat: For travelling, she wears her Texan cowgirl hat, but doesn't appear to wear it while at school itself - she does, however, park it on Ryan's head as a joke.
* NotSoDifferent: As she points out many a time during Part 4, there are very few things she does as a Texan which are different to those of her northeastern friends.
* TheRival: A friendly one, Janie and Fiona quickly establish something of a competitiveness between themselves, and therefore have to outdo one another wherever and whenever possible.
* StraightMan: Compared to those around her, Fiona is generally one of the more sensible, level-headed members of her circle of friends alongside Ryan.
* {{Tomboy}}: Illustrates many of these traits, although it could be argued she's a touch more girly than Janie.
* TomboyishPonytail: Fiona frequently has her hair pulled up on one side in a ponytail, usually hanging over her left shoulder.
* VitriolicBestBuds: With Janie as an athletic rival.
* YouthfulFreckles: She has a prominent face-covering of freckles.
