Two runaways, one a former Hoennian rich kid (Real Name: Shaun de Vaughn), and the other the 45th Schoolchild of the 1992 Class. The two are targeted by Adelinde, Tellurium, and Lutetium in an assassination mission.

* HappilyMarried: While it's unclear if they were ever officially married considering their status as runaways, it's clear that they're a happy couple prior to their deaths.

* SuperSpeed: Was capable of using her powers to enhance her speed back when she was younger, but by the present she's wheelchair-bound and it's not that much of an option.
* ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend: At first she's willing to just stay and let Adelinde kill her so that Haru and their mons have a chance to escape, but when Tellurium tells her that Haru has to die too, combined with him refusing to leave her in the face of certain death, she's motivated to resist.

* EnlightenmentSuperpowers: Gallium somehow managed to spec into using the Gates, which require enlightenment to use, and is made doubly impressive by both his short life (Around six months) and the fact that he was just as subject to the same pressures as his Batchmates. Chiyo tells Ynos that he had a sense of inner peace that most Schoolchildren lack due to the turbulent nature of their upbringing (Or lack thereof), and Abe admits to not quite understanding him when he was alive.

A distant ancestor of Daydre and Aislinn's who lived during the first Warring States period of [China], and the creator of the Oracle Mask.

* CastingAShadow: She was a Dark Obscuric.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: Downplayed, she does resemble both Daydre and Aislinn, but it's muted by roughly 2,000 years of genetic drift.
* PosthumousCharacter: She's been dead for around two millennia, but her actions loom large over her descendants Daydre and Aislinn.
* TheyLookJustLikeEveryoneElse: The narrative notes that for all the trouble her actions ended up bringing her descendants, the vision Daydre sees of her is of a very ordinary looking woman.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Her desire for her partner back led to quite a bit of suffering for her descendants.

Shutter's paternal cousin (eldest son of his father's brother) and the curator of miniatures at the Mesagoza Train Museum. He specializes in flying types.

* MirrorCharacter: To his cousin, in a few superficial ways.
** Both are originally from the Orange Islands whose work brought them overseas. But while Joven is mostly sedentary and seldom travels far from Paldea, Shutter travels a lot.
** Both have a younger, "hipper" Caucasian-looking assistant at their beck and call who is basically their sidekick. Said sidekicks are secretly superheroes.
** They have similar sounding names that kind of rhyme. While Shutter is mostly known by his nickname or surname (and only gets called by his first name by others when they're exasperated), Joven is mostly known by his first name.
** While both lived through the same series of traumatic events, Joven seems less overtly affected by it than Shutter is,
* MassiveNumberedSiblings: His grandfather Reynard mentions that he has so many granddaughters from his son Norbert that he calls refers to them as the "Amazon horde." Said horde are Joven's sisters.
* PursueTheDreamJob: Implied. He currently works in maintaining miniature train exhibits but mentions having worked with ornithologists before.
* RailEnthusiast: He and his assistant like trains.

Joven's assistant, a former famous Let's Player turned museum employee who works on miniature train sets. In his spare time, he is the infamous street hero Night Mankey.

* CompositeCharacter: He resembles MCU Pete's "Night Monkey" identity but acts a lot like Franchise/{{Zorro}}, with his branding inconsistencies giving him an extra whiff of WesternAnimation/DarkwingDuck

* ConvenientlyTimedAttackFromBehind: He and his team render Malacostra's mons and mooks out of commission mostly by this, to the point that Mal doesn't even notice something was amiss until her defeated Pokémon were battered, physically and [[VisualPun literally]].

* VisiblePun: ''Somehow'' manages to use this against Malacostra, beating the mucus out of her crustaceans and tossing them back, defeated and covered in pancake batter.
