* {{Badass}}: It should be mentioned that he fought just as hard as the other leaders in the battle against [=BloodClan=], despite only having one life at the time.

* BerserkButton: In ''The Last Hope'', it is shown that she hates when cats betray the warrior code, and when they try to hurt her kin.

* {{Badass}}: Her bonus chapter in ''Thunder and Shadow'' reveals that she fought off an ''owl'' when it grabbed her and tried to carry her away. As an apprentice of a few days old.

Brokenstar was the only surviving kit of Yellowfang, [=ShadowClan=]'s medicine cat, and Raggedstar, [=ShadowClan=]'s deputy. Due to the forbidden nature of their relationship, Yellowfang gave her son to Lizardstripe to raise. However, Lizardstripe was a cruel mother, denying never giving Brokenstar affection and denying milk when she felt he had misbehaved. Meanwhile, he was spoiled by his father, who had managed to become leader of [=ShadowClan=]. Brokenstar grew into a ruthlessly ambitious warrior. Knowing his father would name him deputy, Brokenstar instigated a fight with [=WindClan=] during with Cloudpelt, [=ShadowClan=]'s current deputy, was killed. Following this, Brokenstar was named deputy by his father, who he killed to become Clan leader. However, suspecting that Yellowfang knew too much, he framed her for the death of some kits (her own siblings) and exiled her. He also sent the Clan's elders into exile so that he didn't have to feed them.
