* BreakupBreakout: Okay, so they haven't exactly broken up the Lucha Dragons, but with Sin Cara out that led to Kalisto becoming involved in a feud with Alberto Del Rio and actually winning the US Championship twice!
* CatchPhrase: Whenever he gets any speaking parts, expect him to say something along the lines of, "That's what lucha is! It means to fight!"
* ContinuityNod: Salida del Sol, the name of his standing shiranui finisher, is a nod to his pre-WWE identity of Samuray del Sol.

* TheDreaded: In his late 2016 solo run. A large majority of the RAW locker room is ''terrified'' of him. Even Mick Foley, who has basically SeenItAll, thinks he's a whole other level of scary.
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: Shaved the sides of his head after separating from the Wyatts and starting his run as a singles star.
* GenreSavvy: ''Holy shit'', he was this on the January 29, 2017 episode of ''Raw''. The Mountain of a Man was promised a WWE Universal Championship match against [[Wrestling/KevinSteen Kevin Owens]] [[spoiler:if he interfered to cost Wrestling/RomanReigns his shot at Owens' title the night before at the ''Wrestling/RoyalRumble'']]. But when he came out to cash in on that promise, Owens denied the conversation even happened—so Strowman recovered the tape and played it over in the arena, causing General Manager Wrestling/MickFoley to come out and make the title match. Then Owens had his best friend Wrestling/ChrisJericho sitting commentary at the announce table to the side near the stage before the match—and Strowman, knowing Jericho would get involved, made a bee-line for Jericho and chokeslammed him through the table. Owens was scared shitless, and, aside from a small period of control Owens had caused by a ring post bump, Strowman would absolutely dominate the match. Even when [[spoiler:Roman Reigns' music hit and Reigns came after Strowman for revenge, Braun was expecting it and told him to get in the ring and bring it on. The only thing he didn't count on how much Reigns had left in the tank after taking Strowman's beating and working two matches[[note]]the Universal Title match with Owens and the Royal Rumble Match[[/note]] the previous night, resulting in Reigns taking down both him and Owens. And even then, he technically still won the match since Reigns attacked him first, meaning he still holds rightful claim to a future world title shot]].
* TheGiant: This guy dwarfs Luke Harper. ''Luke Harper is not a small guy. At all.''
* JackOfAllStats bordering on MasterOfAll: A 6'8, damn near 400-pound strongman whose strength is greater than that of Wrestling/TheBigShow, who turns out to have been hiding some shocking speed and agility for being as big as he is, whose force can overwhelm the best wrestlers in the world to the point that [[Wrestling/SamiZayn the man]] who had the Fight Forever match with Wrestling/ShinsukeNakamura should consider surviving ten minutes against him as an accomplishment, ''and who happens to possess moments of tactical genius unseen in most wrestlers, let alone monsters of the ring''. If not for lapses of overconfidence, this guy should be untouchable.
* MeaningfulName: Named Braun — homophone of ''brawn'', which perfectly describes him.
** "Strowman" may very well be indicative of the fact that he's a "strong man" at 6'8", and close to the 400 lb. mark.
* MightyGlacier: Early indications haven't uncovered a wealth of speed. But, hey, when you're a 6'8", 385 strongman that's built like a tank, there's really no need to rush. Anywhere.
** LightningBruiser: ...except during his solo run on RAW in 2016, where we've seen his smaller, seemingly quicker opponents try to flee from the ring, only for Braun to not only keep pace, but ''overrun'' them. Cole and company were amazed a man his size and girth could even move that quickly, let alone outpace his smaller opposition...
*** ...and then against bigger opposition like TheBigShow, he can grapple and do a freaking ''nip-up'', and not a rope-assisted one like Show himself use to do, but [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHycqkzM-z0 a middle-of-the-ring one]] ala ShawnMichaels or Shelton Benjamin. Cole and Graves said it best: Strowman isn't superhuman, he's ''supernatural.''
* SquashMatch: Has begun to have a series of these on Raw. He's begun to take pride in them, to the point where he went on a rampage because Wrestling/SamiZayn had the [[{{Determinator}} gall]] to last ten minutes in the ring against him. Strowman wasn't pinned or submitted. Apparently, just ''surviving'' too long against him is [[BerserkButton enough to piss him off.]]

* DavidVsGoliath: Corbin's bigger than most people. His favorites to beat up, though, seem to be indy types on the smaller side of the size spectrum. Definitely true of his feud with Kalisto, who's the smallest guy on the roster that doesn't exclusively work the Cruiserweight Division.
* DarkhorseVictory: His main roster debut - winning the 3rd Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania with no setup whatsoever. He was only given a passing mention as being in the Battle Royal (although he would've been hard not to notice at 6'8") and was widely thought to be an extra body - until he won the whole thing, cementing his victory by eliminating Wrestling/{{Kane}} of all people, who happens to have a ''very'' good record in battle royal situations [[note]]He held the record for the most eliminations in a single Royal Rumble for 13 years until Wrestling/RomanReigns broke it[[/note]] and was pushed as a possible winner.
* {{Expy}}: Not so much in character, but he has a lot of similarities to 80's WWF wrestler [[Wrestling/AllenCoage Bad News Brown]], especially his loner, misanthropic tendencies and unable to get along with either faces or heels.
* FaceHeelTurn: Although his actual turn is hard to pin down, he gradually became one as the crowd [[XPacHeat started to turn on him]] and the NXT writers just rolled with it.
* FinishingMove: A Lifting Reverse STO he calls the End of Days. As of this writing, ''no one'' has kicked out of it.
* GenreRoulette: Corbin's gimmick is a very eclectic mix of different 'genres' of wrestling. He has a mix of the old-school by being a big, greedy, arrogant, bullying heel who played pro football. He has a bit of 90s era [=WWF=] by being a vaguely supernatural guy associated with an 'alternative' subculture (metal and motorcycles). And he has a bit of the current, meta-character by being a commentary on the "sissification" and "indiefication" of WWE by being a 'real' athlete who's big and slow, didn't work the indies or grow up as a fan of wrestling, and doesn't care about making friends with his peers or putting on good matches.
* GenreSavvy: This wasn't a huge part of his initial character, but after he was firmly cemented as a heel, he became very aware that the NXT crowd at Full Sail (which has always leaned toward the smarky side) was suspicious of him because of his lack of indy credentials and didn't respect him as a "wrestler's wrestler," so to speak. This has given him an irrational hatred of former indy stars, so he now enjoys beating them up - particularly in front of an audience.
* TheGiant: He's 6'8.
* HateSink: He's not just a loner out of choice, part of his main-roster gimmick is that he's hated and despised by the other wrestlers in the locker room.
* {{Jerkass}} Definitely. Even in RealLife, Pestock comes across as a JerkJock at times.
* LondonEnglandSyndrome: He's billed from Kansas City, but we haven't been told ''which'' Kansas City. For all we know he could be from the Kansas City ''border''.
* MaybeMagicMaybeMundane: It's been hinted that he's not actually human (having called himself a 'different breed' and alluded to 'my kind' in a promo), but there's no concrete evidence either way. Given the wolf motif, some fans think that he may be a werewolf.
* MeaningfulName: 'Corbin' means 'raven-haired'.
* MightyGlacier: When he's not having a squash match, he moves slowly, but he hits his opponents ''hard''.
* MysteriousPast: According to the commentators, nobody knows anything about him, and even Regal couldn't— or wouldn't— say. Subverted once Pestock's real life football past was incorporated into his character upon his heel turn.
* OnlyInItForTheMoney: He always goes where the money is.
* PhraseCatcher: He's one of the latest recipients of the 'X is gonna kill you' chant.
* PsychoticSmirk: After he wins.
* TheQuietOne: He doesn't talk a lot—he walks in, does his match, and usually leaves straight afterwards without so much as saying a single word. This changed when Bull Dempsey started to annoy him.
** Since joining the commentary team, Corey Graves has claimed that they hang around the same circles, and while Corbin doesn't say much, when he does speak, people pay attention.
* TheRival: Bull Dempsey, though Corbin seems to view Dempsey as less of a rival and more of a persistent annoyance.
** With Bull demoted to Jobber status, Wrestling/{{Rhyno}} seems to have taken his place as Corbin's rival.
** Corbin and Rhyno formed an uneasy alliance for the Dusty Rhodes tag team tournament and actually did well, making it all the way to the final round. However, their rivalry might be brewing again when Corbin eliminated Rhyno during a battle royal for the No. 1 contender spot.
** He then interrupted a title match between Apollo Crews and Finn Balor, which has led to a feud between him and Apollo.
** Then he interrupted Wrestling/AustinAries' ''debut entrance'' to beat him down and start a feud with Aries.
** After Wrestling/DeanAmbrose robbed him of the chance to earn the WWE Championship at ''Elimination Chamber'', Corbin went on to feud with him.
* ShadowArchetype: To about half the roster. Every wrestler who wanted to do it since they were a kid and cares about the craft over making a buck, especially if they're small and had an unconventional or circuitous route to WWE. As Corbin said, all it took was one phone call and he was in.
* SquashMatch: In between his return at ''Takeover 2'' and the arrival of Samoa Joe, he was pretty much winning every match in usually under a minute. By October 30, 2014, the audience were counting how long the matches went for.
* TwoFirstNames: Corbin can be both a first name and a last name. Baron can be both a first name and a title.
* WrestlingMonster: No one has kicked out of his finisher. ''No one''.
