* KarmaHoudini: Rhea knowingly and willfuly crafted a false history for Fódlan in a well-meaning but misguided attempt to keep the peace following the War of Heroes. The widespread hatred for those not of pure Fódlan blood and the millennium of suffering under Fódlan's obsession with Crests therefor falls on her shoulders, but the only punishment she receives for her deeds is a scolding from Sothis. Byleth takes measures to conseal Rhea's part in distorting Fódlan's history, and Rhea is noticeably kept away from or protecting from those with legitimate idealogical grievances with her, such as Edelgard or Macuil.

* DishingOutDirt: Because Sothis managed to heal some of the damage Seteth gained at the War Of Heroes, during The Battle Of Shambhala he was able to tap into his draconic abilities and use his skills at Earth Magic (fitting, considering his title as “The Earthshaker”) in combat. And while Seteth ''does'' point out that he’s not at full strength quite just yet, he does hope that in time he will be able to fully tap into his complete draconic form and regain all his power back. Chapter 98 shows that his [[DishingOutDirt control over earth]] is so powerful that he has limited control over [[ExtraOreDinary metal as well]], even if secondary ability is considerably weaker due to how long he has spent without being able to use his abilities.

!Agartha

[[folder:Marian]]
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: She genuinely does not understand why the [[PlayingWithSyringes physical enhancements]] given to all Agarthans are seen as [[HarmfulToMinors horrifying]] by [[NiceGuy Ashe]] and [[MamaBear Byleth]]- she points that the process in the end is done so their people can [[PatrioticFervor serve Agartha all the better]], she did it to [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes spare her sick grandmother from the painful and often times deadly process]] and argues that Ashe’s role as TheSquire means he’s no different from her considering he’s barely older than her. But as Ashe points out, it ''is'' different because their circumstances are different: if not for [[WarIsHell the war]] he would not be in the position he’s now in the first place and reveals that [[SaintlyChurch the Church of Seiros]] provides room and board for orphans and the infirm, free of charge or class restrictions. This information actually leaves her in a clearly [[StunnedSilence shocked and uncomprehending muteness.]]
* ChildSoldier: She's ''thirteen''.
* CuteAndPsycho: During her conversation with Dimitri, Marian switches between spouting the traditional poisonous Agarthan [[FantasticRacism rhetoric]] and, like [[TokenHeroicOrc Asta]] before her, showing a wide-eyed kind of [[ConstantlyCurious wonder]] about the outside world and asking questions about it and she switches between both elements of her personality with chilling speed. [[KnightInShiningArmor Dimitri]] is both deeply disturbed by it and finds it absolutely tragic that such a young girl like Marian has been affected by [[BigBad Thales]] in such a way.
* GadgeteerGenius: Turns out Marian is not only interested in mechanics of all types, but when she entered the Agarthan army she was initially in repairs and construction before she got shifted into surveillance. This makes her aid in finding the hidden doors in Shambhala all the more essential.
* GoalInLife: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]] with her, but several times she has shown a great fascination towards the ocean and makes it clear the wonder of the outside world that she’s most excited about seeing with her own eyes is the ocean.
* HeelFaceTurn: Fully cemented in Chapter 97, when she ardently declares that she wants to protect the world and all of its beauty from [[BigBad Thales]] and his machinations.
* ItIsDehumanizing: Exclusively refers to [[UnwittingPawn Edelgard]] as "The Puppet" and [[UndyingLoyalty Hubert]] as “The Mutt” not only due to her own FantasticRacism but as a sign that the Agarthans as a whole consider them nothing more than tools to be used at best and utterly [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness expendable]] at worst.
* OneSteveLimit: Downplayed. Her name sounds similar to ''Marianne''.
* OriginalCharacter: Marian has no canonical counterpart and is created to expand more on Agartha culture.
* PayEvilUntoEvil: The reason for her TroublingUnchildlikeBehavior about the man she killed? The man took out his frustrations about losing the war on her by kicking her repeatedly.
* PetTheDog: Genuinely shows notable sympathy towards [[spoiler:Justine’s condition due to the “failed” augmentation.]]
* RaisedByGrandparents: Hinted by Marian herself, who believes Agartha winning the war is the only way for her grandmother to live in the outside world and not die bellow ground, and she’s adamant about the idea of her grandmother dying ''not'' being an option. It’s also made quite clear that her grandmother is the person Marian [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes loves]] the most.
* StealthExpert: She actually manages to fallow our main heroes and sneak to Shambhala almost undetected, with only [[HyperAwareness Yuri]] managing to catch her.
* SuperSoldier: She’s one, as it turns out. Chapter 79 reveals that all Agarthans soldiers are [[PlayingWithSyringes given]] general physical enhancements. It's a procedure, according to Marian, that was learned from studying dragon's blood and genetic editing. Everyone who enters the army is subjected to it after they pass initiation; it gives them peak human physical or magical performance depending on their proficiency. Said process is done when they are [[HarmfulToMinors twelve years of age.]]
* TroublingUnchildlikeBehavior: Speaks casually about murdering a man for kicking her and cracking her ribs. She also expresses amusement at the thought of what will happen to Edelgard once [[spoiler:Thales decides she's served her purpose]], laughing while telling Dimitri how powerless she is to escape their control - which is especially disturbing when you remember [[spoiler:the experiments the Agarthans preformed on her killed her siblings and drastically shortened her life.]]
* VillainousBSOD: Perhaps 'villain' isn't ''quite'' the right word, but Marian starts showing bouts of distress when she ponders what will happen to [[AllLovingHero Mercedes]] and [[CoolBigBro Emile]] should Agartha be victorious in the war, alternating between frantically repeating the justifications she'd been taught and slipping into sulky silence.
* YouAreACreditToYourRace: Her genuinely complimenting Mercedes, Lysithea and Dimitri comes off as this since she repeats the racist dialogue she's been taught almost in the same breath.

* HeroWorshipper: She's a mixture of utterly star-strucked and shocked at the fact that “Atra Of The Surface” is both alive and in army that is fighting Agartha.
* MamaBear: Towards Justine von Hresvelg. As noted by both Claude and Dimitri, it takes a incredible amount of care and love for someone who was as indoctrinated as most Agarthans are to snap of said indoctrination in order to save someone you care for and despite her nervous disposition, she does not regret saving Justine in any way.
* TheMedic: What her role was when Shambhala. Dimitri immediately recruits her to be The Caretaker of the Agarthan children they have with them because of this.
* SilkHidingSteel: She's understandably a NervousWreck when interacting with both Claude and Dimitri as she explains how she helped Justine von Hresvelg escape Shambhala but the fact that ''did'' do it in the first place speak volumes of how strong she really is. !Almyra

[[folder:Tiana von Riegan]]
* CheshireCatGrin: Her grins are described as “foxlike”.
* TheDreaded: Even in Foldan she’s known as The "Demon Queen" and she’s one of the very few characters that make both [[SugarAndIcePersonality Byleth]] and [[BloodKnight Dimitri]] nervous about meeting.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Her reunion with Claude in Chapter 79 pretty much cements her perfectly: [[AngerBornOfWorry furiously berating Claude for being reckless and worrying her so much]] before making it clear that she's [[SoProudOfYou utterly and astronomically proud of everything Claude has managed to achieve in Fódlan]] and [[GoodParents without hesitation hugging him and telling how much she loves him as his breaks down in her arms]].
* FamilyOfChoice: How she describes her relationship with [[BoisterousBruiser Nader]]. It’s a neat mirror to Claude’s [[BigBrotherInstinct own]] [[CoolBigBro relationship]] with Bernadetta, which is pointed by Claude himself.
* GoodParents: [[MommasBoy Claude]] proudly and without hesitation calls his mother the bravest person that he knows, all his memories show just how much they love each other and his reunion with her in chapter 79 is one of the very few moments where he cries TearsOfJoy while in her embrace as she firmly and heartwarmingly affirms just how much she loves him and how proud of him she is despite how utterly terrified for his safety she was.
* HappilyMarried: Kirah is the only love of her life and anyone else does not in any way whatsoever register for her. She without hesitation became TheRunaway in order to stay with him and her love for Kirah is going even stronger and more passionate decades later.
* INeedAFreakingDrink: When Dimitri reports the truth about Crests to his allies, Tiana is described as having glass of wine in her hand and having a strong desire for several more with rapid succession.
* TheLadette: Not only quite a skilled LadyOfWar in combat, but she’s capable of drinking both Lord Gautier and Lord Charon under the table and mock Count Rowe at the same time.
* LadyOfWar: Described as cutting an intimidating figure who radiates power and she’s an incredibly skilled HorseArcher thanks to decade to living and ruling over [[ProudWarriorRaceGuy Almyra]] alongside her husband. Her first scene in the series is of her being a FrontlineGeneral leading the Almyran TheCavalry that saved Holtz, his forces and the forces on Fraldarius's land from being overwhelmed by [[FourStarBadass Count Bergliez]] and she herself is the one kills Count Bergliez in said battle.
* LonelyRichKid: Very strongly implied, considering Judith was her OnlyFriend before she became close friends with [[PowerTrio Lambert and Rodrigue]].
* MachiavelliWasWrong: As she herself points out, “Fear isn't loyalty; poor kings and Emperors always get the two conflated at their peril. If they know that, yet haven't changed how they treat their own people, then nothing anyone can say will help them.”
* MamaBear: As Claude begins remembering his ForgottenFirstMeeting with Byleth years before, he darkly notes that an Agarthan mage tried to kill him and Byleth when they were exploring the temple of Shiva and Selene. Tiana’s reaction to hearing this? Blatant homicidal TranquilFury so fearsome and protective than it actually startles Dimitri, all coupled with a wild snarl in her face.
* MasterArcher: Considering she was the one who taught Claude, it’s only to be expected.
* OneDegreeOfSeparation: She was a [[PlatonicLifePartners very close friend]] with both Lambert and Rodrigue during her years in the officer's academy and Rodrigue even helped Tiana to escape from Fódlan (while Lambert is strongly implied to have intentionally turned a blind eye to said escape). When Tiana finally sets foot on Fódlan as part of the Almyra army for the first time in years, Rodrigue laments this trope as he should have noticed Claude's resemblance to his mother and how it has been years since he and Lambert last saw Tiana and Tiana teases both Felix and Glenn just like a CoolAunt would when she finally meets them in the flesh and is nothing but gentle and almost motherly to Dimitri.
* PowerTrio: Formed one with Rodrigue and Lambert when they were attending the Officer's Academy. Once she and Rodrigue meet again their friendship is [[PlatonicLifePartners instantly rekindled like nothing ever changed.]]
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Firmly establishes herself as this the moment she first interacts with our main characters.
* RulingCouple: With her husband, Kirah. Everything implies that she’s the [[FrontlineGeneral more]] [[LadyOfWar martial]] of the two while Kirah is more [[TheGoodKing the good]] [[ThePhilosopherKing Philosopher King]]. Despite this, it’s made quite clear that she has not only [[TheHighQueen earned the respect of her fellow Almyran but she’s also an incredibly capable and wise ruler]] but at the same time her husband is [[RankScalesWithAsskicking quite the fearsome and powerful warrior whenever he finds the need to show it]].
* TheRunaway: As in Canon, she left Fódlan to marry the love of her life, Kirah the King of Almyra.
* RunawayBride: Before she became TheRunaway to join [[OneTrueLove Kirah]] in Almyra, she was [[ArrangedMarriage supposed]] to marry [[HateSink Count]] [[EntitledToHaveYou Gloucester]]. Of course, she absolutely and categorially refused to be married to Gloucester and with the help of Judith, Rodrigue and her own brother she managed to escape to Almyra.
* StacysMom: Holtz mentions in a letter to Claude that she’s just as beautiful as he remembers her being and dryly snarks that Balthus cannot laugh at him in any way because he’s sure the other man would think the same.
* StunnedSilence: Her only reaction when Claude [[TheGadfly gleefully]] reveals the situation [[SharingABody Byleth and Sothis]]. He’s utterly amused at having caught his mother utterly flabbergasted.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: King Kirah]]
* AmazonChaser: Fell head over heels in love with Tiana when she tried to attack him during thier first meeting in order to protect her friends. As he tells his son, how could anything else happen when he's Almyrian? Claude then wryly bemoans the fact that he shares his father's taste in partners.
* BigDamnHeroes: In Chapter 104, he personally recues Mercedes from being [[ZergRush overwhelmed]] by Agarthan troops.
* BoisterousBruiser: In the middle of what could be the most dangerous fight for the future of Fódlan, and he's all smiles and confident good cheer.
* TheCavalry: What his role amounts in the FinalBattle, arriving JustInTime to aid the heroes against Nemesis.
* DragonRider: Like all the most powerful Almyrian Generals, he rides his own personal wyvern. Claude's memories about learning how to ride his own wyvern all but states that it was Kirah who taught Claude everything to know about said creatures.
* TheGoodKing: Of Almyra. All of Claude's memories of him paint him as an incredible wise and intelligent king who does his best for the people of Almyra. It's worthy of notice that Claude's intellectual and almost philosophical way of leading is strongly hinted to be him following his own father's example, meaning that Kirah is essentially Claude's role model in how to be TheGoodKing in the first place.
* GoodParents: All the memories Claude has of Kirah are incredibly fond and show that he holds him in very high esteem, making it clear that he considers Kirah both an incredibly loving and [[PapaWolf protective father]] and also someone whose [[ThePhilosopherKing wisdom, intellect and sage advice]] are greatly respected by Claude.
* HappilyMarried: With Tiana. Kirah is the only love of her life and anyone else does not in any way whatsoever register for her. She without hesitation became TheRunaway in order to stay with him and her love for Kirah is going even stronger and more passionate decades later. Kirah in turn absolutely adores his spitfire wife and reveals that it was LoveAtFirstSight for him.
* LargeAndInCharge: Mercedes describes him as being massively tall, and considering she's dating [[GentleGiant Dedue]], Kirah must be even more impressively big in size.
* LikeFatherLikeSon: Outside thier physical build, Claude is basically a younger Kirah in term of charm, affability and sheer intelligence. Mercedes notes that they even have the same smile.
* OddFriendship: While his wife being [[PlatonicLifePartners very close friends]] with both Lambert and Rodrigue is not a surprise in hindsight, Kirah's easy friendship with Rodrigue and his absolute respect and fondness for Lambert's memory can come off as utterly bizzare in the eyes of Fódlan natives.
* ThePhilosopherKing: Claude's inner mussing paint Kirah as a deeply pensive and analytical man as a king, as well as someone whose sage council and wisdom is deeply respected by almost everyone in his kingdom.
* RankScalesWithAsskicking: One of the very few people capable of fighting [[WorldsStrongestMan Nemesis]] one-on-one on relatively even ground for any amount of time.
* RulingCouple: With his wife, Tiana. Everything implies that he’s the [[TheGoodKing the good]] [[ThePhilosopherKing Philosopher King]] and she's more the [[FrontlineGeneral more]] [[LadyOfWar martial]] of the two. Despite this, it’s made quite clear that he is [[RankScalesWithAsskicking quite the fearsome and powerful warrior whenever he finds the need to show it]] and she has [[TheHighQueen earned the respect of her fellow Almyran by also being an incredibly capable and wise ruler]].

[[folder:Atra]]
* ActuallyPrettyFunny: Like Claude, she found [[spoiler: Ren Von Riegan's FlippingTheBird moment]] absolutely hilarious, bursting into sniggers just at the reminder of it.
* TheAtoner: Atra is ''defined'' by her [[spoiler: guilt over participating in the Tragedy of Duscur in service to Agartha]], having left everything she knew and dedicated herself to protecting Fódlan from [[spoiler: Agartha's]] ultimate plans.
* BerserkButton: The Flame Emperor/[[spoiler:Edelgard]] is this to her; Atra either addresses them with SugaryMalice or seething rage, repeatedly referring to them as an evil idiot. Given that [[spoiler: her initial trust and belief in Thales resulted in her participating in the Tragedy]], she can't fathom how someone can [[spoiler:seemingly willingly]] knowingly allow them to make [[WasOnceAMan Demonic Beasts]] out of their own people and employ [[MadDoctor Solon]].
* BewareTheNiceOnes: She's normally one of the nicest, most soft-spoken members among our heroes and due to her status as TheAtoner, she can come off as a little unsure of herself and more than willing to do anything in her power to truly make amends. During Chapter 97 however, she goes ''nuclear'' on some Agarthans who call her a traitor, snarling and shouting that she will not let Thales prattle on about sacrifice and humanity's glory when he's the lowest piece of scum there is, grinding and murdering his way through thousands of innocent lives. And as Chapter 97 goes on and on she becomes more and more livid, obviously finally having a chance to unleash all of the anger and anguish she felt ever sense the death of her mother and what The Agarthan High Council forced her to do.
* CainAndAbel: Is the Abel to [[spoiler: Kryona's]] Cain.
* CategoryTraitor: In the eyes of [[spoiler:Thales, his inner circle and those loyal to them among The Agarthans.]]
* ChildSoldier: Was deployed as one of the soldiers responsible [[spoiler:for the Tragedy of Duscur]] as a child.
* ConstantlyCurious: Downplayed, but Atra is quite enthusiastically fascinated in learning everything she can not just about Fódlan but the 'surface world' in general. She goes out of her way to steal historical books from church vaults [[spoiler: including memoirs written by the Elites]], is visibly enraptured by ocean travel despite being seasick, and spends [[spoiler: all the army's downtime]] in Brigid asking elders questions or just wandering the land.
* DefectorFromDecadence: She defected from [[spoiler:Agartha following the fall-out of the Tragedy of Duscur, horrified of what role she has in the massacre and wanted to atone]].
* FlamingSword: Atra's weapon is a flame sword.
* HeroWorshipper: Her conversation about Pan is tinged with almost gushing hero worship about the legendary figure. It's somewhat implied that Pan's own [[DefectorFromDecadence defection]] and his very similar reasons to her own centuries before is something of a inspiration of her own.
* GratuitousGerman: When trying to convince the lords of the existence of those who slither in the dark, [[spoiler:Atra says a couple of sentences in German. Seteth immediately recognizes the language and goes pale, and the [[WordOfGod author's notes]] indicate that German is being used to represent an Agarthan language.]]
* HeroOfAnotherStory: She and [[spoiler: Glenn]] spent the four years since [[spoiler: The Tragedy]] doing everything in their power to [[spoiler: arrest and undermine Agartha's missions on the surface.]]
* LikeBrotherAndSister: Has this sort of relationship with [[spoiler:Glenn]].
* TheMagnificent: In chapter 78, [[spoiler:Lucy]] reveals that Atra has earned her own epithet among the Agarthans: “Atra Of The Surface.”
* MutuallyExclusivePartyMembers: A purely theorical case. According to the author's notes for Chapter 37, Atra would never join the player on the canon Crimson Flower route.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: [[spoiler:Poisoning the wine barrels at the Duscur/Faerghus convention, weakening everyone present and triggering the resulting massacre that would become The Tragedy]] was this for Atra, who up until that point had been indoctrinated into [[spoiler: Agartha's history and FantasticRacism towards the people of Fódlan]]. Afterwards, she dedicated her life to trying to stop them.
* MyGreatestFailure: [[spoiler:The Tragedy of Duscur]]. Atra doesn't fully believe she'll ever atone for it, even as she does her best to thwart [[spoiler:her former home, Agartha]].
* ObliviousToLove: {{Downplayed|Trope}} in the fact that while at first glance it seems that the more subtle declarations of devotion completely fly over her head (as noted by both Dimitri and a frustrated Yuri), its later showed that part of it comes from the fact that she’s an InsecureLoveInterest who while having obvious romantic feelings for Yuri [[ICantBelieveAGuyLikeYouWouldNoticeMe firmly believes he could not return them due to her past and trauma.]] Chapter 97 makes it very, ''very'' clear that the feelings are [[RelationshipUpgrade completely and utterly mutual between both of them.]]
* OriginalCharacter: Atra is an [[spoiler:Agarthan]] OC who has no canon counterpart.
* RelationshipUpgrade: In Chapter 97 with Yuri, with Yuri giving her a NowOrNeverKiss and gently telling her to keep herself save, which utterly leaves her lovestruck and adorably flustered.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Gives a ''magnificent'' one about [[BigBad Thales]] and all of his disturbing and disgusting hypocrisies and lies and how they have negatively impacted their people as a whole
--> “There was no hatred for Shambhala on the surface, no plans to descend her to 'finish us off'; they didn't even remember us. Thales is a man who lies so much he doesn't remember what the truth sounds like!. They were not our enemies; not until we made them so! Would any of us accept the murders of our families and our children as a victory for humanity? Would we look at the mutilation of our children as something we should be grateful for? Would any of you?!. If they were as savage and bloodthirsty as Thales said, would I still be alive?”
* SoProudOfYou: She’s utterly and absolutely overjoyed when [[CuteAndPsycho Marian]] declares that she wants to protect the outside world and all the beauty it has from [[BigBad Thales]] and his machinations. She’s just radiating so much gleeful vindication and sheer parental pride at the fact that her people ''can'' change that she wears an absolute [[WhenSheSmiles beaming smile]] for the first time in the series after hearing Marian's declaration.
* SpannerInTheWorks: ''In spades!'' Atra meeting Byleth, Claude and Dimitri and telling them about [[spoiler: Agartha, their hand in the Tragedy and their plans for Fódlan]] results in them warning their nobles and preparing for future conflict with [[spoiler: Thales and Shambhala]]. Because of this, both the Kingdom and the Alliance are ready for war when [[spoiler: Edelgard]] marches on Garreg Mach after declaring the church and all who side with them her enemies. Without [[spoiler: Cornelia, whom Rodrigue was able to capture and remove from power thanks to information Atra and Glenn gave him]], Faerghus shed its internal instability and rallies behind Dimitri who becomes king without a hitch and allies with Leicester rather than the two fighting independently of each other. The result? Total humiliation for [[spoiler: Adrestia]] and [[spoiler: Thales struggling to switch strategies rather than flying under the radar for five years of war, knowing that he's now facing a united and powerful front rather than two desperate lands ravaged by war.]]
* ThisIsUnforgivable: [[spoiler:After the Empire blows up Fort Merceus just to kill the heroes with [[NukeEm The Javelins Of Light]], Atra mutters a disbelieving "...Unverzeihlich...", which is German/Agarthan for "unforgivable", followed by having a ''major'' yet utterly understandable FreakOut than Thales would still use such weapons.]]
* TokenHeroicOrc: She's this for [[spoiler:the Agarthans]] as whole.
* {{Unperson}}: Chapter 78 reveals that common rank and file among the Agarthans were told that she was killed shortly after breaking into and then out of Shambhala with other deserters. Assassinated, according to [[spoiler:Lucy]]. It seems quite clear that the ruling power among the Agarthans are ''not'' pleased with [[TheAtoner her]] [[SpannerInTheWorks opposition of their plans.]]
* WhenSheSmiles: At her most joyful, she’s described as having the kind of absolutely beaming and beautiful smile leaves others stunned after witnessing it. [[LoveInterest Yuri]] was ''certainly'' left completely in awe of it.

!The Holy Kingdom Of Faerghus
[[folder:Rodrigue Achille Fraldarius]]
* ActionDad: Father to Glenn and Felix, and father figure to Dimitri. Also an accomplished warrior and respected general.
* CombatMedic: As a Holy Knight, he is capable of both healing and fighting.
* INeedAFreakingDrink: When Dimitri reports the truth about Crests to his allies, Rodrigue is described as having a desire for a stiff shot of booze.
* NumberTwo: Rodrigue is the clear second-in-command of the Kingdom forces, and killing him is second only to killing Dimitri in any antagonists' plans to destroy Faerghus.
* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: The investigation, capture and execution of [[spoiler:[[TheMole Cor]][[ManipulativeBastard nelia]]]], which is something that its strongly implied to been done under his command for the most part, is definitely one for him.
* OneDegreeOfSeparation: He and Lambert are close friends with [[spoiler:Tiana von Riegan during his years in the officer's academy and even helped Tiana to escape from Fódlan. When Tiana finally sets foot on Fódlan as part of the Almyra army for the first time in years, Rodrigue laments this trope as he should have noticed Claude's resemblance to his mother and how it has been years since he and Lambert last saw Tiana]].
* PowerTrio: Formed one with Lambert and [[spoiler:Tiana]] when they were attending the Officer's Academy.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Pretty much his defining trait.
* RoaringRampageOfRescue: Discussed in Chapter 47 when Felix notes how Rodrigue will probably react to the knowledge that [[spoiler:Imperial forces are coming down on his prince and sons' heads. And lo and behold, Rodrigue ''is'' indeed the one who's leading TheCavalry that comes to the aid of our heroes during [[TheSiege the Battle of Garreg Mach.]]]]
* ShutUpHannibal: When [[spoiler:Count Varley]] rants about how it's his right to keep his commoners downtrodden, Rodrigue coldly tells him that any man who cannot respect his inferiors doesn't deserve power over them.
* SophisticatedAsHell: Byleth views Rodrigue as the epitome of a lordly, chivalrous knight, and is utterly [[ActuallyPrettyFunny stunned]] to hear him [[NotSoAboveItAll refer]] to Dimitri's uncle Rufus as having "the military sensibilities of a drunk, concussed wyvern."
* SparedByTheAdaptation: [[spoiler:Due to the various nails preventing Dimitri from going completely feral and stopping the Battle at Gronder, Rodrigue never has to sacrifice himself to save his prince and lives to reach Enbarr.]]
* TearsOfJoy: Breaks down when [[spoiler: Glenn finally manages to return home and meets him after four years of believing his older son was dead.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Glenn Fraldarius '''(Spoilers)''']]
* AngerBornOfWorry: He doesn't curse or get ''too'' angry, but Glenn is very exasperated by [[spoiler: Dimitri, Felix and Atra's]] antics on the battlefield.
* AmnesiacHero: While Atra managed to save his life, Glenn developed traumatic amnesia due to the pain from his severe injuries and spent for years not knowing who he was.
* AmnesiacLover: Is this to Ingrid, something he feels quite guilty about when they reunite.
* BigBrotherInstinct: Willingly walked to his presumed death during the Tragedy of Duscur in order to save Dimitri (whom he considered his brother) and ensure he escaped alive.
* CoolBigBro: His nature was so ingrained that he treated Atra this way despite his memories of his actual brother(s) being suppressed. Upon reuniting with Felix and Dimitri, Glenn slips right back into the role with ease despite still not having fully recovered.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: He and Atra spent the last four years doing everything in their power to undermine Agartha's missions in Fódlan.
* InTheBlood: Just as Felix utterly dismantled [[GeneralRipper Maximus Varley]] with all the utmost scorn possible, Glenn also ruthlessly personally deconstructs another AxCrazy disgusting racist with delusions of grandeur. In his case, being Odesse. Dedue also notes that despite Glenn’s normal KnightInShiningArmor behavior he’s also quite the BloodKnight beneath it all.
* IShallTauntYou: Takes a darkly gleeful amusement in utterly enraging Odesse with his vicious comments and almost gives a SlasherSmile while driving his enemy into a VillainousBreakdown.
* LightningBruiser: Every time he fights against an enemy he’s described as such and words such as “whirlwind of death” or “blur of speed” are often used to describe how fast he moves in comparison to his enemies. Combined with his already impressive MasterSwordsman credentials and it’s made clear than he’s on a whole other level as a warrior in comparison to most of our heroes and only [[TheAce Byleth]] can match him. Outside of facing [[VoodooZombie The Elites]], every fight he takes part ends with him [[CurbStompBattle absolutely dominating]] his enemies and the only thing that saved [[TheHeavy Edelgard]] from getting sliced to ribbons in their short bout was Hubert’s quick thinking.
* MasterSwordsman: The one of the youngest knights in Faerghus, a title he ''earned'' through sheer capability. Even with how much he's improved, Felix still considers himself to be in Glenn's shadow.
* MutuallyExclusivePartyMembers: A purely theorical case. According to the author's notes for Chapter 37, Glenn would never join the player on the canon Crimson Flower route
* NiceGuy: Glenn considers Atra [[LikeBrotherAndSister one of his closest friends]] and does not hold her in any way responsible for the actions of her people during the Tragedy of Duscur despite her presence there, which comes as no surprise considering she saved him from his canon fate in said tragedy. He also shows himself to be a friendly, charming and pleasant young man who is both a CoolBigBro with BigBrotherInstinct towards both Felix and Dimitri, a gentle and loving fiancé towards Ingrid and overall one of the best examples in the series of a genuine KnightInShiningArmor the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus has under their command.
* SoProudOfYou: Notes with great pride that Felix might have just surpassed him once he realizes that his little brother defeated [[LadyOfWar Renata Fraldarius.]]
* SparedByTheAdaptation: Thanks to the timely intervention of Atra, Glenn survives the Tragedy Of Duscur albeit scarred and amnesiac.
* TraumaButton: Chapter 102 reveals, in his inner dialogue, that Glenn still has considerable PTSD around fire and [[PhysicalScarsPsychologicalScars that his scars tend to hurt whenever he’s in the presence of powerful fire spells.]] Obviously and understandably, elements of the Tragedy of Duscur still haunt him even to this day.
* TraumaInducedAmnesia: Glenn lost his memories as a result of injuries and trauma sustained in the Tragedy of Duscur.
* WalkingSpoiler: [[SparedByTheAdaptation Him surviving of the Tragedy of Duscur]] makes it nigh impossible to talk about him without bringing up major plot points.
[[/folder]]

!The Leicester Alliance
[[folder: Judith von Daphnel]]
* ActuallyPrettyFunny: Like Claude and Leonie, she is highly amused by [[spoiler:Ren von Riegan's disrespect towards Thales.]]
* IfOnlyYouKnew: After the war starts, Judith puts forward the theory [[spoiler: that Agartha used the Insurrection of the Seven to influence a vulnerable Edelgard after the deaths of her siblings.]] Needless to say, she is ''far'' more right than she knows; [[spoiler: Agarthan doctors ''participated'' in the Insurrection to implant the Crest of Flames into Edelgard, and have her set up as their UnwittingPawn to [[FinalSolution attempt to wipe out the people of Fódlan]].]]
* OnlyFriend: Was this to [[spoiler: Claude's mother Tiana]] in the Alliance before she met [[spoiler: Rodrigue and Lambert during her time in the officer's academy.]]
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Like Rodrigue and Seteth.
[[/folder]]

!The Adrestian Empire

[[folder: Heather]]
* OnlyOneName: In her own words, "farmers' girls don't get last names."
* OriginalCharacter: She has no canon counterpart.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: Her surrender to Dimitri prompts many of her fellow soldiers to follow her example, which causes them to survive the destruction of Fort Merceus. They are then able to communicate with their families and tell them what happened, and the knowledge that [[spoiler:Edelgard tried to kill her own soldiers in an attempt to take out Claude and Byleth]] is a major trigger for the riots in [[spoiler:Enbarr]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Justine von Hresvelg '''(Spoilers!)''']]
* AbdicateTheThrone: Says plainly that she has no desire to attempt to ascend the throne of Adrestia. Given her injuries and somewhat helpless state, she clearly fears being a PuppetKing.
* CuteMute: The injures she received as a result of the failed implant of the Crest of Flames, among other things, scarred her vocal cords. She's also very sweet and gentle.
* MoralityPet: Was this for Lucy, who defected from Agartha to save her from being forcibly transformed into [[AndIMustScream a White Dragon]]. Subverted with Edelgard. Not even Justine's [[spoiler:pleas and lack of desire for war was enough to sway her older sister from the cause.]]
* ShrinkingViolet: She’s incredibly [[NiceGirl sweet natured]] and caring (to the point that she shows genuine worry when witnessing a harmless DopeSlap given to [[ConstantlyCurious Claude]] by [[{{Tsundere}} Lysithea]] and later shows open worry towards [[TheCaretaker Lucy]]) and her overall demeanor is described as both soft and shy. Considering her [[PlayingWithSyringes past]] this is perfectly understandable.
* SparedByTheAdaptation: In canon, all of Edelgard's siblings are deceased. Here Justine survived the Agarthan experiments, but was reduced to a helpless mute cripple.
* SuperWheelchair: [[MedievalStasis Fódlan]] is already a place where a ''normal'' wheelchair would come as utterly fantastical, so her ''hovering'' one absolutely astonishes Dimitri and pretty much absolutely delights [[ConstantlyCurious Claude.]]
* TraumaButton: [[PlayingWithSyringes Understandably]], just hearing [[BigBad Thales's]] name causes Justine to flinch in terror.
* WalkingSpoiler: Like Glenn, her mere ''existence'', makes it impossible to talk about her without bringing up major plot points.
[[/folder]]

!The Nabateans

[[folder:Sothis]]
* AffectionateNickname: Is very fond of calling Byleth's students 'delinquents'.
* AmnesiacHero: Sothis lost all her memories upon waking up in Byleth's body, even forgetting the basic knowledge of [[spoiler: her godhood]].
* BerserkButton:
** Sothis is ''furious'' to discover that there is scripture written in her name claiming that she considers foreigners and mixed-race children unclean/evil, only avoiding going on a rant when [[spoiler: Claude begs her not to wake anyone and by doing so give his heritage away.]]
** She also gets angry when innocents are harmed. [[spoiler: Agartha and Laputa found this out the hard way when they bring their war to her doorstep, endangering the humans who had being trying to escape it along with her family. Sothis wipes both their forces out single-handedly]].
* CooldownHug: Gives one to Claude [[spoiler: while he's in the midst of a Freak Out over learning that the 'scripture' that declared mixed-race children like him unclean was a lie.]]
* DeadpanSnarker: Almost rivals Claude for the number of snarky remarks she throws out.
* GodzillaThreshold: Reluctantly crossed this in Fódlan's past when [[spoiler: it became clear that Agartha and Laputa would continue to fight despite the fact that they had virtually destroyed the world. In order to save humanity, Sothis destroyed both kingdoms so thoroughly only one city (Agartha) or a handful of towns (Laputa) survived the purge, and so little remained that they slipped out of history altogether.]]
* HeroicBSOD: Has a mild one when she and Byleth witness one of her memories in a dream, upset that she lost her memories of her children. [[spoiler: It's heavily implied she has a much worse one when Indech reveals the AwfulTruth about the relics and the slaughter at the Red Canyon]], Byleth noting that she's been quiet and subdued ever since.
* LikeASonToMe: It eventually becomes clear that Sothis considers Byleth a daughter to her [[spoiler: calling her Rhea's 'sister' when demanding that she explain everything to her.]]
* MamaBear: Sothis quickly comes to adore Byleth and her students (though she hides somewhat by calling them 'delinquents' and frequently teases them) and is willing to give her Divine Pulse [[spoiler: and eventually fuses her heart into Byleth's body]] in order to ensure their safety. [[spoiler: Given her affection and protectiveness towards her own children,]] it's not surprising.
* RageBreakingPoint: Hits this in Chapters 76/77 due to a combination of [[MamaBear fierce protective fury]] towards Byleth’s “delinquents”, open frustration at having to deal with the [[VoodooZombie the Ten Elites]] and her absolutely visceral disgust at just how low the Agarthans are [[YouMonster willing to sink]] to come out on top and [[spoiler: chapter 76 ends with Sothis so absolutely ''enraged'' at the concept of [[WasOnceAMan the White Dragons]] that her anger actually bleeds to Byleth’s consciousness and starts [[ImHavingSoulPains hurting Byleth without meaning to.]]]] [[spoiler:In chapter 77 her rage becomes clearly apparent when, with utter [[GoodIsNotSoft chilling ease]], she manages to take down all of [[WasOnceAMan the White Dragons]] in Enbarr that were giving our heroes so much trouble with just [[OneHitKill one]] single use of the [[StarPower Sirius]] spell.]]
* SharingABody: With Byleth, due to the nature of the latter's birth.
* ShipperOnDeck: Sothis is aware of the developing feelings between Dimitri, Claude and Byleth and encourages them to be honest with their feelings for each other.
* SparedByTheAdaptation: Due to a number of variables, including the Ashen Wolf's participation and Byleth being less reckless in her pursuit of Kronya, [[spoiler: Sothis gets through the Battle of the Sealed Forest with her individuality intact.]]
* WhatTheHellHero: Is very upset with [[spoiler: her daughter, Rhea/Seiros, and the fake scriptures she wrote after winning the war with Nemesis, demanding to know what she did to her 'sister' Byleth and chastising her in particular for maintaining Fódlan's toxic isolationism.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Rhea]]
* AscendedExtra: In all canonical versions of the story other than Crimson Flower, Rhea is captured at the end of Part I and spends all of/nearly all of Part II in a cell. Here, she escapes and eventually regroups with the heroes, allowing her much more screentime.
* BeneathTheMask: Chapter 99 shows that beneath her pious BigGood personality, Seiros is a lot snarkier, HotBlooded and takes trollish delight in pissing off her enemies. She playfully blames Claude for bringing back her old attitude. She's also touchingly (due to how human her reaction is) and hilariously insulted when Byleth wryly muses that both Macuil and Indech told her that Seiros had a real LeeroyJenkins trait in her youth, pointing out (almost with a pout) that Macuil has ''no'' leg to stand and judge her in that regard. She's a lot more ''human'', playful and emotional than the mask she was forced to wear for centuries suggested.
* BigGood: One of the most prominent forces of good in the series. And while the series takes its time exploring her [[TraumaCongaLine trauma]], [[NotQuiteTheRightThing all the mistakes and missteps she took as the Bishop]] and how ''human'' as a character she is in great detail, there is absolutely no doubt that at the end of the day she has the protection, safeguarding and care of everyone under her watch as her first priority.
* DramaticIrony: Rhea [[spoiler: put Sothis's heart inside Byleth's chest when she was a baby]] both in hopes of saving a life and giving her mother a chance to be reborn. However, due to the scriptures she [[spoiler: both invented after the war with Nemesis]] and pushes as the Archbishop causes [[spoiler:the amnesiac Sothis to be wary of her and decide to keep her initial awakening a secret to avoid Byleth being accused of heresy.]]
* HeelRealization: Her stunned reaction to Claude's ArmorPiercingQuestion along with Sothis's unhappiness with her decisions [[spoiler:as Seiros and in the modern day]] suggest that she's had a silent one.
* InadequateInheritor: She says that she is this to [[spoiler:Sothis when she finally gets to speak to her mother again]], saying that she never managed to truly solve Fódlan's problems and couldn't keep everything from going wrong.
* LadyOfWar: Claude ''immediately'' has her pegged as one due to the graceful way she moves and how she holds herself, thinking to himself that she moves with a warrior's grace and that she was the air of someone who has been in the thick of it several times. Claude is of course 100% correct, considering that she's [[spoiler:Saint Seiros herself]] and later on during both the Battle of the Holy Tomb and [[spoiler:the Siege on Enbarr Rhea goes on to prove that she has not lost any of her [[MasterSwordsman skill with the blade]] in any way whatsoever.]]
* LeeroyJenkins: At the end of the [[TheSiege Battle for Garreg Mach]], Rhea [[spoiler:as the Immaculate One]] pursues the retreating [[spoiler:Empire army]], overstretches herself and ends up [[spoiler: getting shot down with a [[FantasticNuke Javelin of Light]], is badly injured and has to hide away in Lake Teutates until the Kingdom-Alliance-Church army come to rescue her.]]
* TheMagnificent: Like in {{Canon}}, her [[spoiler:draconic form is also known as "the Immaculate One.'']]
* MamaBear: Alongside both Seteth and Indech, her main role during [[TheSiege the Battle of Enbarr's Palace]] is [[spoiler:doing her best to protect the students from the constant assault of their enemies, always keeping an eye on them and backing them up whenever they need of her aid.]]
* MyGreatestFailure: Rhea’s horrified, repentant and absolutely ashamed reaction [[spoiler:upon hearing about Lysithea’s DarkAndTroubledPast and the fact that she was utterly unware of it]] utterly shows this type of sentiment on her part. Worthy of notice is the fact that she's [[PoseOfSupplication kneeling]] while asking [[spoiler:Lysithea]] for her forgiveness.
-->'''Rhea''': I'm sorry, I failed you and your family so completely, I don't deserve to be in your presence. […] No, but I could have ''intervened'' on your behalf...and far more importantly, I've known about Agartha ''my whole life''. I've done terrible things in the name of keeping them from having power over humanity again, and I've watched them for any sign of stirring. Yet I became foolish and caught up in my own desires, and I allowed this to happen to you and your family right underneath my nose. […] I claimed it as my duty to protect the people of Fódlan, but I allowed myself to lose my way. If I had been truly, properly vigilant, this would not have happened. I insist you raise this grievance against me after the war, so your parents might be awarded compensation to ensure their continued comfort.
* OneManArmy: Just like in the game, Rhea is a capable warrior in her own right, [[spoiler:and her Immaculate One form is capable of laying waste to entire armies.]]
* ParentalSubstitute: Byleth muses to herself in private that Rhea has become like a mother figure to her after she goes missing.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: For some reason, her name is spelled as "Serios" throughout the story.
* WillfullyWeak: Byleth notes with open respect and admiration than she’s considerably holding back against The Agarthans foot soldier, obviously taking care to not permanently harm them or kill them. Considering the kind of horrifying [[TraumaCongaLine experiences she’s had with The Agarthans as whole]], the fact that she’s actually holding back in order to spare the Agarthan rank and file speaks volumes about the compassion she’s still capable even with her past.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Seteth]]
* HeroicBSOD: When Flayn is kidnapped. He has another one later when [[spoiler:he sees the resurrected Fraldarius. It's strongly implied that he is lost in his memories of the slaughter of his people.]]
* LeeroyJenkins: He, of all people, charges in half-cocked when [[spoiler:faced with Agarthans attacking Rhea's probable location.]]
* LightningBruiser: Described as being this in Chapter 76 by Byleth, [[spoiler:moving so fast in the battlefield that he's described as a "blur of silver" and being a DanceBattler while tearing through his enemies as if they were not more than parchment.]]
* TheMagnificent: In a [[DownplayedTrope downplayed]] version of NamedByTheAdaptation, Seteth, like [[spoiler: Seiros, Indech and Macuil before him]] also gets a particular name for his [[spoiler:draconic form. In his case, it's the Earthshaker.]]
* OhCrap: He’s openly and understandably rather dismayed when he witnesses first hand just how ''many'' [[FantasticNuke Javelins Of Light]] The Agarthans still have on reserve.
* NumberTwo: Acts in this capacity for the united Kingdom-Alliance-Church army, leaving the protection of Garreg Mach and the safeguarding of the faithful to Catherine.
* PapaWolf:
** Toward Flayn.
** Towards the other students of Garreg Mach as well. Alongside both Indech and Rhea, his main role during [[TheSiege the Battle of Enbarr's Palace]] [[spoiler:is doing his best to protect the students from the constant assault of their enemies, always keeping an eye on them and backing them up whenever they need of his aid.]]
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Stern as he may be, Seteth is a caring and attentive Bishop. He chides Dimitri for not taking better care of himself and loosing sleep, and clearly disapproved of [[spoiler: his sister's decisions after the war with Nemesis to continue pushing her falsified scripture even after they defeated him.]] Notably, he accepts [[spoiler: Claude's reveal that he is Prince Khalid]] without batting an eye despite his status as a Bishop.
* SugarAndIcePersonality: Pointed out by Byleth herself to Bernadetta to put the other girl at ease about talking to Seteth. Despite coming off normally as aloof, stern and somewhat intimidating at first glance, Seteth is actually an incredibly kindhearted and considerate man who is always willing take time listen to others no matter the situation or subject and is one of the best examples of a genuine ReasonableAuthorityFigure in the whole setting.
* SuperSenses: Similarly to [[Franchise/AvatarTheLastAirbender Toph from Avatar]], its revealed that his [[DishingOutDirt Geokinetic magic]] grants him the ability to sense the vibration of the earth, which in turn allows him to not only sense the location of others and their number but also detect the difference between earth and metal. While he ''does'' outright admit that it has a long time since he’s pulled such a subtle application of his abilities and they have notably atrophied, both Marian and Raphael point out that he should still be able to pull it off.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Lian]]
* AffectionateNickname: Calls Byleth "Little Sister" with deep fondness after learning that [[spoiler:his mother's heart and spirit reside inside of her]].
* AscendedExtra: In the game, you only meet him if you play Linhardt and Leonie's paralogue. Here, Lian/[[spoiler: Indech]] joins the army to help his siblings and presumably [[spoiler: confront Agartha once and for all]], becoming a prominent side character in the process.
* BerserkButton: Judging first by his notable DeathGlare and later by his absolutely ''horrified'' reaction while [[spoiler:listening to Lysithea recount her incredibly painful DarkAndTroubledPast]], it’s made very clear that [[NiceGuy Indech]] considers sadism and cruelty against [[InnocentBystander innocent civilians]] to be absolutely unforgivable.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: [[spoiler: Chapter 74 shows us firsthand that while normally Indech is a borderline AllLovingHero due to how incredibly compassionate and friendly he is, he's just as capable as Seiros/Rhea; like her, he is an utterly ''terrifying'' force on the battlefield in his draconic form. In fact, he comes across as even ''more'' dangerous and deadly because of his unnerving TranquilFury while destroying his enemies. Both Glenn and Dimitri find themselves deeply unsettled at seeing him in this state when comparing it to Indech's normal compassionate, charming and gentle NiceGuy self and agree that they are quite relieved [[GladHesOnOurSide he's on thier side.]]]]
* BigBrotherInstinct: One of the very few moments where [[NiceGuy Indech]] looses his cool is during his fight against Michael Blayddid in Shambhala, where Indech is ''desperate'' to have Michael answer the most important question in his mind: [[WasItAllALie if his feelings for Vishnu were truly genuine]], because Vishnu very clearly ''did'' love Michael.
* BigBrotherMentor: Towards Byleth and the students of Garreg Mach as a whole.
* CoolBigBro: Towards Byleth, considering that he calls the much younger woman "little sister" after learning that she's [[spoiler:the host of his mother's heart and spirit]] and always treats her with both incredible brotherly fondness and gentle teasing amusement. His interactions with both Seteth and Rhea also very strongly hints that he's this towards them, as Rhea is utterly at ease around around him to the point that she both knew he would [[spoiler: protect her at Lake Teutates after she fled from the Empire]] and is utterly comfortable with him on an emotional level and Seteth acts less like TheStoic [[NumberTwo second in command]] of the Church of Seiros that he normally is and more like a sheepish little brother when Indech gently admonished him. He might not ''always'' agree with their choices, (in fact, [[spoiler:he proves himself to be utterly against the [[ManipulativeEditing changes in history]] Seiros and Seteth did after the War of Heroes, considering the act to be incredibly dangerous]]), but it's made clear that [[spoiler:Indech]] both holds family in incredibly high regard and loves his own with everything he has.
* FriendlySniper: When not using his [[MakingASplash water manipulating abilities]] he's seen fighting with his personal bow, The Inexhaustible, and he's shown to be an ''incredibly'' skilled marksman with it (said skills no doubt coming from [[spoiler:the centuries he's had to practice with it.]]). He's also easily one of the gentlest, most compassionate and friendliest souls in the whole story unless [[BewareTheNiceOnes pushed into anger]].
* GoodCannotComprehendEvil: “Indech couldn't understand it. They had held their culture and their 'progress' as so sacred they were willing to kill his mother over it and destroy the whole world, yet they destroyed it with their own hands to avoid having to breathe the same air as the civilizations that came to be in the land they abandoned?”
* InelegantBlubbering: Breaks down completely [[spoiler:when Byleth channels Sothis and he sees his mother for the first time since her murder ''over a thousand years ago'']], hugging her and crying while babbling and [[ItsAllMyFault blaming himself]] for what happened after they were separated.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: Has one with Bernadetta, encouraging her sewing, praising her and generally keeping an eye out for her.
* TheMagnificent: Like in {{Canon}}, his [[spoiler:draconic form is also known as "the Immovable.'']]
* MakingASplash: Can control water, and uses it to swamp enemies in waves or [[spoiler: destroy Titanus and Demonic Beasts alike during the storming of Enbarr.]] His control over water is so precise that he's able to directly choose how water affects others, as seen during [[spoiler:the battle for Hrym]], where the same currents of water that were utterly gentle and harmless towards Byleth and the other students were used as deadly weapons against the Empire's forces.
* NiceGuy: ''In spades''. Lian/[[spoiler: Indech]] is a gentle, friendly and incredibly compassionate soul, who is happy to give suggestions to Bernadetta about a plush toy she's making and offer Dimitri useful advice about grief and forgiveness. [[spoiler: He gently reassures the students after revealing the AwfulTruth about their Crests and Relics]], and when he learns that Marianne carries [[spoiler: the Crest of the Beast]], rather than revile her, he embraces her out of compassion and [[spoiler: tells her that there is a chance that Sothis can purify the lingering radiation that causes her crest's degenerative qualities]]. He also shows nothing but the utmost kindness and respect to [[TheAtoner Atra]], calling her very brave for [[spoiler: abandoning Agartha and showing no resentment whatsoever toward her despite what her people did to his family.]] He even expresses pity toward the state [[spoiler: [[AndIMustScream Maurice]] and [[VoodooZombie Michael Blaiddyd]] are currently in, even though they profited from the slaughter of his siblings,]] musing that they might have been ObliviouslyEvil and that even if they weren't, no one deserves to be trapped in their current state.
* PapaWolf: Alongside both Seteth and Rhea, his main role during [[TheSiege the Battle of Enbarr's Palace]] [[spoiler: is doing his best to protect the students from the constant assault of their enemies, always keeping an eye on them and backing them up whenever they need his aid.]]
** Indech also seems to have developed a rather parental attitude towards Marian as well, as seen in Chapter 98, where he spends his time fiercely protecting her and shielding her from view so the other Agarthans in Shambhala don’t notice her.
* TragicKeepsake: His alias [[spoiler: is the also the name of his preteen nephew, who was murdered to create the Crest of the Beast a thousand years ago.]]

* AloofBigBrother: For his own personal reasons he's lot pricklier towards Rhea and Seteth than [[CoolBigBro Indech]] is, but he ''does'' care about them quite a bit. Towards Indech and later Byleth he's considerably more gentle and affable.
* TheArchmage: Is mentioned to have written books on all masteries of magic, which his son Lian read avidly.
* BigBrotherInstinct: Because sometimes even [[HiddenHeartOfGold he]] cannot help himself, he makes it abundantly clear that he does ''not'' like the idea of either Indech or Cihol being anywhere close to the [[FantasticNuke Javelins Of Light]] due to the fact that the radiation might poison them thanks to potential close proximity. He also shows himself considerably warry about accidentally bringing down Shambhala down on all of our heroes if he fails to deactivate the Javelins Of Light, and this is despite that both Rhea and Indech showing nothing but the utmost confidence that he’s able to do it. He also does not bother to hide his concern towards the students and Rhea’s plan to confronting Thales and his Inner Circle and openly tells them to be careful.
* TheBlacksmith: Like in canon, he forged weapons like the Sword of Begalta and the Sword of Moralta. He intends to give those and other such weapons to the students, knowing they will need their power to battle Agartha.
* BlowYouAway: You don’t earn the title of [[TheMagnificent The Wind Caller]] by being anything less that the most powerful wind mage in the setting, after all. Able to use his wind magic not only for incredibly devastating offensive spells but also for defensive spells and supplementary affects (increasing his speed, agility and maneuverability), Macuil’s sheer versatility and control of his wind magic makes it clear that nobody has come anywhere as close to mastering the element as he has. Considering wind is his draconic element, it makes absolute sense that his control and mastery of said elemental magic is so complete.
* DefrostingIceKing: Byleth notes how big a step it is for him to willingly grant humans the use of his sacred weapons—Crest-bearing humans, at that.
* ElementalMotifs: Quite fittingly considering one of his [[BlowYouAway main]] magics, its wind. Claude actually compares him to a storm, Harsh and unpredictable.
* FamilyMan: Used to be this. His son, Lian, was the apple of his eye and his biggest joy and he was very clearly and absolutely HappilyMarried. The death of of both his wife and son was an absolutely ''brutal'' CynicismCatalyst for him. Considering the main way Byleth and the others appeal to him into joining with them against Agartha and the soft spot he has for some of his family members, its made clear that he's still this....just buried under centuries of cynicism and justified anger.
* IGotYouCovered: Showing how much [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold heart he truly has]], during the fight against Griffith Gautier and Elizabeth Daphnel he’s constantly backing up Claude, Sylvain and Ingrid and pulling BigDamnHeroes moment for the students…all while grumpily warning them to keep an eye and focus in the battle.
* IWarnedYou: Furiously says as much to [[spoiler: his sister, Seiros]] when he's told about the new war with Agartha and the conflicts with [[spoiler: Agartha]].
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: ''Very understandably'' has a major problem with every [[ThisIsUnforgivable atrocity]] committed by the Argarthans towards his family, has little patience for Seiros and how she [[ManipulativeEditing dealt with Agartha]] (or more to the point, how [[IWarnedYou she didnt]]) and overall is TheCynic among his siblings. Despite this, He absolutely loves his family (and has a particularly soft spot for Indech, Flayn and Byleth/Sothis), several times shows himself to be a lot more [[HiddenHeartOfGold compassionate and kindhearted]] towards the students of Garreg Mach that one would expect someone with his past to be (something that's actually pointed out several times), is several times described as being a genuinely good man underneath all of his taciturn attitude and despite his snarling and cold attitude it does not take long for him to agree to join our heroes against Agartha.
* TheMagnificent: Like in {{Canon}}, his [[spoiler:draconic form is also known as "The Wind Caller.'']]
* OneManArmy: All of the Nabateans are this when they cut loose, but during the Battle of Shambhala he goes above and beyond. Between his [[TheArchmage magical abilities]] and his own powerful draconic abilities it’s very strongly implied that he’s the main heavy hitter during the battle. Took down several dozen Titanus out with very little trouble, tossed countless enemies aside with chilling ease and one of the extremely few characters that actually sent more than one member of [[TragicMonster The]] [[VoodooZombie Ten]] [[ReluctantMonster Elites]] running, to say that he’s doing his lion share would be an understatement. Only [[spoiler:[[EldritchAbomination Hegemon Husk Edelgard]]]] gives him difficulty, but he’s able to bounce back from [[spoiler: her]] attack as well, with a little help from Byleth and Mercedes.
* TheSmartGuy: Indech fondly hypes him as a RenaissanceMan: he's [[TheArchmage an absolute master of all fields of magic]], the [[UltimateBlacksmith greatest blacksmith in the series]] and he was implied to be the Nabatean [[CoolTeacher most interested in teaching others and was a fantastic teacher on his own rigth]]. It's also all but stated that he was TheStrategist for Rhea during the War of Heroes.
* TheWorkaholic: The other saints, Rhea, and Byleth all note with fond exasperation and concern at his tendency to work through nights and neglecting eating.
