* MadeOfIron: He's explicitly stated to be "invincible" and most conventional firearms can't harm him. A missile from an aircraft did show it can leave some searing injuries on him but it doesn't really slow him down by much beyond that.

* DraggedOffToHell: [[spoiler: Her spirit assumed once she and Fred got closure with Fred finally standing up to her to become a real man that she could finally [[AscendToAHigherPlaneOfExistence move on to the other side]]. She assumed wrong since the only thing that happens is a pit to hell opens up underneath her and drags her down to her eternal torment]].

* {{Irony}}: Wants to remove Fred's brain and replace it with someone else's because she is disappointed that Fred grew up to be a manchild after all of her constant coddling, but after her death he matures and begins to become a mature adult more worthy of inheriting the family fortune. It turns out that Fred wasn't the problem, it was always her.

* SevenDeadlySins: For all her talk about being such an amazing person and fitting into her refusal to believe she's anything less than perfect, she's guilty of committing all SevenDeadlySins.
** '''Pride:''' And HOW. Velma believes herself to be the greatest person ever with a narcissistic streak ranging the entire United States. She cannot comprehend anything beyond her ego and believes she's superior to everyone, [[SmallNameBigEgo despite that the fact that she's ultimately a selfish, uncaring, weak bully who preys on others and only finds clues related to the case through sheer coincidence. Fred, Daphne and Norville are more productive in solving the mystery than Velma, but that doesn't stop her from undeservingly taking all the credit.]] [[NeverMyFault She also adamantly refuses to take responsibility for her actions, no matter how many times people call her out on it; her ego simply won't allow her to admit she's wrong.]]
** '''Wrath:''' Velma is always going off on angry rants about her racist and sexist views. She's also highly prone to being spiteful and violently lashing out at others for petty reasons.
** '''Gluttony:''' Every time Velma has food in front of her, she has the table manners of a pig. Hell, she even ate a fry out of the garbage!
** '''Sloth:''' Despite claiming to be a hard-working detective and student, Velma basically cheats off of Norville in school and barely does anything to contribute to the mystery; all the clues she finds are either given by someone else or found by sheer coincidence. Everyone else did more work than her, yet she took all the credit. In a more biblical sense, Velma shows sloth by not caring about anything or anyone beyond her own selfishness.
** '''Envy:''' When Daphne left Velma to be with the popular girls (or rather Daphne left Velma due to her possessive and toxic behavior), Velma became jealous of her. In Season 2, she's also prone to behaving jealously when Daphne spends time with Amber and shows a sense of entitlement towards Daphne. This also extends to Norville after he started dating Gigi and immediately grew jealous because Norville was putting her aside to be with his girlfriend. Velma cannot handle when she's not the center of attention, fueling her jealousy when her friends stop making everything about her.
** '''Greed:''' Velma wants everything for herself, whether it be attention, popularity, money, and people fawning over her. She is never satisfied with what she has and always wants more.
** '''Lust:''' When Velma receives an inappropriate phone image of Fred on her phone, she keeps it for herself. She even outright admits that she enjoys seeing handsome guys in the nude.

* JerkassHasAPoint: In the first episode of the second season, Velma rightly points out to Norville that the latter killing Fred's mom was in self-defense and an accident.

* StrawFeminist: The reason she defected from project SCOOBI and hid away her work was not because removing brains alone was unethical, also swapping them with soldiers to infiltrate peaceful protesters, but because General Manning took credit for her work.
