* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: His attempt to do this is what ultimately gets him killed. All the troubles caused from Jack's undercover actions gradually begin to shake his confidence in going through with Amador's virus deal, and is capped off after Claudia is shot, with him ultimately feeling that by this point he and Ramon have sacrificed too much for the deal to be worth it, and tries leaving in the middle of everything. Unfortunately for him by this point Ramon feels that they've invested too much in the deal that backing out now would caused irreparable damage to their empire, which leads him to shoot his brother.

Unfortunately for him by this point Ramon feels that they've invested too much in the deal that backing out now would caused irreparable damage to their empire, which leads him to shoot his brother. For some added irony, this was the opposite of their original stances on the virus deal: Ramon initially wanted nothing to do with it while Hector was all for it.
