* FlatCharacter: He becomes this after his God Ginrai upgrade and remains that way till his mortal injury at Deathsaurus' hands. Just an unfortunate consequence of Ginrai's {{Flanderization}} into a generic military leader of the Autobots.

* BroughtDownToNormal: An interesting variant. Devil Z's destruction means the human Lightfoot permanently lost his ability to transform. However, the machine part had gained its sentience with Lightfoot's personality (Or the lack of it) imprinted onto it, which means the Autobot Lightfoot lives on.
* FlatCharacter: Lightfoot doesn't really have much personality to begin with, and he inexplicably eases himself into an Autobot military role rather quickly which is pretty all we see of his portrayal.

* BadBoss: One of the very first things he does is zap Blood for sulking, before we even know he's an actual character. He gets ''worse'' when he takes over Black Zarak's body, which causes pretty much every human underling he's got to turn on him.

* DemonicPossession: Spends the last part of the series in a cozy Black Zarak suit.

* VillainDecay: Hydra and Buster, while still threatening, quickly become a lot less of a danger in the second half of the show when there are more Autobot Godmasters, and when Overlord and Black Zarak take active roles in the field, in stark contrast to how they were portrayed in the first half of the season as the Autobots' most dangerous enemies. This decay was arrested when they requested to become fully machine in hopes of combating Ginrai more effectively.
* VileVillainSaccharineShow: Hydra and Buster in the first half of the show. In stark contrast to the comedic Headmaster Juniors and Pretenders (though they have had their fair moments of being serious threats), Hydra and Buster were portrayed as utterly serious threats. This ended in the second half of the show, where their threat level minimized in comparison to Overlord and Black Zarak.
