PlatonicLifePartners: Zoey is this to Cameron. Their friendship is a focal point in ''Revenge Of The Island'', especially near the end where their friendship becomes the most focused relationship of that season. That said, the two never display any romantic interests towards each other with Mike serving as Zoey’s LoveInterest while Cameron is a ShipperOnDeck for both of them.

* EvenTheLovingHeroHasHatedOnes: She always tries to see the best in people, even people who give her very little to go off and she came to accept Mike's alternate personalities once she became aware of them. But when she found out about Mal she wanted nothing but his removal from her boyfriend's mind.

However, Gwen chose to be a loner who was cautious of who to let into her life and only auditioned to compete out of a dare she made with her brother, while Zoey is an only child who auditioned to compete specifically to meet new people with her desire to make new friends and naivety being exploited by several manipulative contestants.

* PetTheDog: In Cameron's ending, when he says that he doesn't feel the need to go back to his bubble, Jo sincerely praises him.

* TheBully: A JerkJock and attempted BigBad with a toxic tongue who enjoys tormenting others, especially Cameron and Brick.

** To Heather, both were the love interest of a BigBad, who they made it to the finale with. But Alejandro's love for Heather ended up being his FatalFlaw, and she used it to manipulate him and then [[HumiliationConga subject him to a very brutal defeat]]. [[ThePowerOfLove Mike's love of Zoey]] in contrast, gave him the HeroicWillpower to overcome [[JekyllAndHyde Mal]] and take back control of his body. While Heather came second due to a technicality and ended the season on bad terms with Alejandro, Zoey [[GracefulLoser happily excepted coming second]] because she had the man she loved back and the two shared the prize money.

* SatelliteCharacter: Zigzagged; on one hand she does have a defined personality outside of her relationships with Mike and Cameron (the characters from her generation she interacts with the most). On the other hand, Zoey never really got an arc on her own, [[note]] Compare this with Mike and Cameron who get major character arcs that allow them to shine on their own and play an important role in their seasons. [[/note]] thus she remained comparatively underdeveloped as a character.

* {{Sociopath}}: For someone who calls herself "the meanest" in her audition tape, she is, by default, rather hateful towards others, ranging from her authoritarian leadership to her skills in manipulating them, which also makes her '''''much more monstrous''''' than [[spoiler:the Dakotazoid]] ever was.

** A looser example: in the case of all of the female contestants who were originally from the second generation, she's the only one who's ''genuinely'' malevolent among them (both Anne Maria and Dakota were more portrayed as [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold being vain on the surface, but nice underneath]], while Staci is just simply more morally neutral, despite being well-intentioned).

* AllLovingHeroine: It's very difficult to make her angry, and she even feels compassion to her enemies. Though on the off chance you do make her angry, [[BewareTheNiceOnes be very afraid]].
* ApologisesALot: Unless she really intends to do harm, she tends to say "I'm sorry" frequently.
** Notably and ironically averted when she gets angry and aggressive at Anne Maria for forcing her off the pump in "Backstabbers Ahoy," even though Anne Maria just saved Jo's life. Zoey never thought to apologize or even express regret for what she did, even though this was a time when an apology actually ''was'' necessary.

* BadassAdorable: In "Truth or Laser Shark", a pair of mutant beavers were about to eat her and she kicked them both in the groin. She [[ApologeticAttacker apologizes]] to them while saying she did warn them to stop.

* CoolLoser: She's pretty, athletic and kind to everyone, but has no friends in her hometown.

** Played straight in ''Revenge of the Island'', and she [[LampshadeHanging lampshades]] the number of times Mike has saved her life in "Grand Chef Auto".

* NotHerself: During "Eat, Puke and Be Wary" and "The Enchanted Franken-Forest".

* DirtyCoward: Despite being a tough-as-nails competitor, she has actually fallen into this territory a couple of times, most notably when she manipulates others, such as Cameron, into doing her biddings.
