* TheWorfEffect: He deliberately invokes this trope with himself as the Worf, with guidance from Gladys and Welsey, in order to demonstrate Usato's skill and strength to the people of Luqvis by challenging him to a duel in front of the students at the training ground. Since Halfa is considered an unbeatable opponent to the student body, having a "useless healing mage" like Usato not only fights Halfa but ''beat'' him in a duel shows everyone that healers (and Usato specifically) can be terrifying opponents.

* AnIcePerson: Her magic element is that of ice. She's also quite creative with its applications, using it to form bullets and daggers or just generally using it to freeze people.

* SuperStrength: Her raw physical strength is far, ''far'' greater than Usato's, by his own admission. Notably, after finding out the Demon Army is building a bridge to cross the river into Lyngel, she walks to the opposite side, casually lifts up a log the size of a ''fully grown California Redwood'', and hurtles it at them like a javelin, smashing their bridge with an evil grin on her face.

Amira has no idea that had she not done that, the current demon king's war would've never managed to take off.

However, she does it to make sure they are fast enough and strong enough to survive their battles against the demon army.
