Both are driven out of their homes and forced to run from an unknown enemy who seeks to wipe them all out in quite a bit of DisproportionateRetribution (the Reapers needed a place to stay and didn't want the Wardens returning looking for vengeance; Lance and Carlson are looking for a shipment of guns and want to exterminate Riverbend to cover their tracks). Much like the Wardens, [[spoiler:all their best fighters are killed in a CurbStompBattle.]] The main difference is that half of Riverbend's residents survive while all of the Wardens save [[spoiler:Maggie, Hershel, Elijah, and a handful of unnamed others]] are killed.
