So when [[spoiler:Tarantulas]] calls him up and shows him the Timemaze, Overlord wants to use it solely to fight versions of Megatron throughout history, starting with the period when Megatron was still a miner and hadn't yet formed the Decepticons. As [[spoiler:Tarantulas]] points out though, Megatron pre-war is effectively a "temporal cornerstone", so Overlord killing him would create a RealityBreakingParadox and kill them all. Overlord doesn't care though, thinking he could just hop into a variant timeline and find ''another'' Megatron after that ad infinitum. [[spoiler:Fortunately, he's stopped from even attempting thanks to Springer and Impactor's arrival, and the former tossing his two halves to different periods in time makes sure he can never try to do so.]]
