* BadAssBoast: Upon spotting the other punks, having just killed Suicide, he shouts at them “More Brains!” clearly indicating they’re about to be next. Sadly for him, they run like hell as soon as he says it.

* TheDeterminator: He will stop at nothing to get his brains. Running away or locking yourself in closets won’t deter him, he’ll just look for a way to get you.

* ObviouslyEvil: Despite being a zombie, which is bad in itself, his appearance is so weird and off-putting it just screams "evil".
* OneManArmy: He can be considered this due to his unnerving problem solving ability, like hiding in the shadows until fresh prey arrives and using a chain to pull doors down.

* TheDreaded: The surviving punks are understandably more terrified of him than any other zombie, having witnessed how brutal he is.

* YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe: The way he looks down at Tina, after she falls through the steps in a botched flee attempt, equates to this without uttering a word.

* FireForgedFriends: Calling them “friends” is a bit of a stretch but he does build a rapport of sorts with Burt in their last hours of life.

* NiceGuy: Spider is generally a cool, amicable person. He does have an aggressive side, but it only comes out once the shit hits the fan.

* StraightMan: He's the most serious-minded of the survivors.

* BigBrotherInstinct: He’s quite protective of Tina, often comforting her during all the chaos.

* NiceGuy: Spider is generally a cool, amicable person. He does have an aggressive side, but it only comes out when he and his friends are in distress. He's arguably the friendliest member of Freddy’s friend group, aside from Tina, and does his best to protect them. For instance, he’s the only one to think of boarding the basement door shut to prevent Tarman from hurting anyone else, and later, he lies to Chuck about the whereabouts of the others presumably to spare him the grief of loss (knowing full well Freddy, Scuz, and Trash are dead).

* BigGood: Can be seen as this, amongst the main characters, as he’s the one with the most resolve and heroic qualities.

* TheDreaded: The surviving punks are understandably more terrified of him than any other zombie, having witnessed how brutal he is. His horrific outer appearance doesn’t help either.

* VocalDissonance: His original speaking voice heard in the theatrical release (and later prints) has a much higher, goofier tone that makes him sound somewhat comical. This greatly contrasts with his freaky appearance. The well-known deep dub sounds far more menacing.

* UnwittingInstigatorofDoom: [[spoiler: His phone call to the army connects him to Colonel Glover who orders the missile strike on Louisville, effectively killing everyone including Burt himself]].

* VocalDissonance: His original speaking voice heard in the theatrical release (and later prints) has a much higher, goofier tone that makes him somewhat comical, than the well-known deep dub.

* TheLeader: Once he is reintroduced to the plot after a brief appearance in the opening prologue, Burt
takes center stage for the rest of the film, leading the fight against the zombies.

The main protagonist. The levelheaded owner of Uneeda Medical Supply where the Trioxin canisters were delivered to by mistake years before the events of the film. When his employee Frank tells Burt of the gas exposure, he quickly arrives and takes charge in the efforts to control the mess and ultimately, put a stop to the resulting zombie apocalypse.

* OhCrap: Burt has this sort of reaction when he and Ernie learn of the dead rising from their graves, and even more so, when Tina tells him that Tarman is in the warehouse.
