* ManipulativeBastard: Kupitman often just can't resits urge to manipulate other people, mainly [[ItAmusedMe for his amusement]]. Even though everyone at some point becomes his victim, they still continue to ask him for advises.

But he is generally good man and friend, and if somebody hurts them, he ''would'' protect them (even Levin). He also often becomes that one guy who [[WhatTheHellHero would tell you]], [[BrutalHonesty in no uncertain terms]], when you really goes too far.
* PerpetualPoverty: [[RunningGag he is infamous]] for his constant lack of money (and he constantly tries to land more).

* ThoseTwoGuys: With Romanenko. They even become roommates in later episodes.
* TooDumbToLive: Can become this at his worst moments. Specifically, he [[BookDumb has bad theoretical knowledge]], and often disregards safety rules. Its a miracle he is not fired yet.

* SingleEpisodeHandicap: In eleventh episode of third season, Lobanov decided it would be good idea to [[ObfuscatingDisability pretend to have broken leg]]; by the end of this episode, he [[LaserGuidedKarma broke his leg for real]], and spend second half of season being disabled (including several episodes where he was unable to move at all).

* NaiveNewcomer: Because he is not native, he has troubles to adapt at first, which often gets exploited.

* InnocentlyInsensitive: She often [[OpenMouthInsertFoot doesn't thinks before saying something]], which leads to her harming other people's feelings.

* NobleBigot: She has troubles accepting homosexuality. Phil tries to cure her from it... [[GoneHorriblyRight he succeeds]].
* PutOnABus: She, apparently, stayed in USA.

* EnragedByIdiocy: He can't tolerate idiocy or incompetence to the point it can be considered his BerserkButton. Thought he often exaggerates just [[EpicFail how]] strongly you fail.

* OfficialCouple: With Anastasia. ThePrankster: He constantly tries to make fun of either interns or his friend, Kupitman.

* InSeriesNickname: "Poodle"[[note]] was named like this by Lyuba in one early episode, and Kupitman was worried if it would stuck; it is[[/note]].

Ironically, it was other way around. Once Sophia finds out, she doesn't takes it well.
** His brother reacts just like Kupitman expected once he finds out. But eventually it was ''Sophia'' who was toxic in this relationship, and dumps Romanenko at the last moment.

Bykov ''does'' warns Anastasia what she was his ex, but he suggests her because of her skills, not because of their past relationship; plus, they simply lacks any alternative. Anastasia agrees, but Gleb only learns what she is Bykov's ex, and decides to use it agains Bykov. HilarityEnsues.

** He sometimes can be even worse than him.
* TokenMinority: Kazakh. Of course, [[{{Troll}} Bykov]] wouldn't make any exception for you just because you are minority, if he can make joke out of it. Timur, generally, doesn't mind.

* BookDumb: He is most experienced of four interns (notably, he is only one who has any prior practice), but his theoretic knowledge is one of the worst.
** In one of the episodes, when he considers to give up on medicine, it's him who coordinates other interns during crisis and saves some guy's life (while [[SmallNameBigEgo Levin]] was paralysed by shock before Semyon shoots on him).
* TheBully: To Levin, and, later, Phil.
* TheDitz: He is not very bright by any standards, let alone for a Doctor.

* RedOniBlueOni: Red to Gleb or Olga Blue.
