* TraumaCongaLine: Almost every time Hinata trusts someone here it goes pretty badly. Komaeda seemed like a nice guy [[spoiler: before he is found dead after trying to kill someon who was most likely Hinata himself]]. Pekoyama's a stoic but reliable friend [[spoiler: except she is also a Yakuza's hitman who tried to convince Kuzuryuu to kill Koizumi over a crime she didn't remember committing]]. Sonia's a sweet girl who wants to help keep everyone safe [[spoiler: and ''[[BewareTheNiceOnes kills]]'' Pekoyama by [[CruelAndUnusualDeath locking her in her cabin]] and [[KillItWithFire setting it on fire, burning her alive,]] and still thought the others would understand]]. Souda's a close enough friend [[spoiler: who is so unbalanced by Sonia's actions even Hinata has issues helping him until after he comes down with an illness that makes him act like a twisted version of Sonia]]. Nidai was a good supporter [[spoiler: who has been brutally murdered as a display of power]]. Nanami's always there to lend a hand or ear accordingly [[spoiler: but she's the traitor]]. But hey at least he has Togami right? [[spoiler: Not only were they never able to come clean about who they are as themselves they have become the greatest threat by far on the island]]. Hinata's life here ''sucks'' and frankly [[spoiler: considering he is Izuru he shouldn't be trusted either]].

* DumbMuscle: What she lacks in brains she makes up for reflexes, natural instinct, and brawn. [[spoiler: Seeing how she is the last "muscle" type teen left standing now this is ''not'' a good combination.]]

* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: While we may not have seen it yet canon shows [[spoiler: the Impostor killing Nidai]] ''certainly'' caused it.

* WalkingSpoiler: Like Byakuya if you haven't finished VisualNovel/SuperDanganRonpa2 she may spoil some reveals for you.

* BerserkButton: While we may not have seen it yet canon shows [[spoiler: the Impostor killing Nidai]] ''certainly'' pressed it.
* BigEater: Enough to challenge Byakuya to an eating contest. [[spoiler: That she ''won'' since it was speed based.]]

* LackOfEmpathy: Possibly even worse than her canon counterpart in this regard partially because [[spoiler: she didn't lose Koizumi here so it took her longer to start trying to break that habit]].
* WhatTheHellHero: While not a "hero" she certainly didn't think she was in the wrong when [[spoiler: Koizumi]] finally gave her hell for the verbal (and sometimes physical) abuse she has done to her fellow students. Seeing how she was [[spoiler: Mocking Souda ''[[MoralEventHorizon for not being dead]]'' after he just got physically stable ''and'' speaking ill of the actually dead Mikan]] also quite the WhatAnIdiot moment on Saionji's part.

* TraumaCongaLine: Yup another one. Starting with trial two were she learns [[spoiler: during their missing two years she had a friend at Hope's Peak Academy who killed Fuyuhiko's little sister because the Yakuza's little princess was bullying the photographer, she hid evidence of this crime to defend said friend (who wound up dying anyway by Fuyuhiko's hands), her supposed friend Pekoyama wanted her dead because of this to save Fuyuhiko, her other friend Sonia killed Peko to prevent this even though safer alternatives were available, Fuyuhiko blamed Pekoyama's death on her anyway]], ''and'' Saionji won't stop abusing those are her in yet another case of a misguided friend trying to "protect" her without listening to Koizumi's own thoughts on the matter. Her method of lashing out at Byakuya over her own feelings during this doesn't help either [[spoiler: nor does the Impostor's betrayal]].

* EvilCannotComprehendGood: Makes it clear he sees [[spoiler: the impostor's]] sense of morality as "boring".

The person who has no identity of their own or gender who has been impersonating Byakuya Togami. Unlike the Byakuya section this primarily covers their post-despair disease persona, though the spoiler tropes they show whenever their Byakuya mask drops can also be put here.

* AdaptationalVillainy: Since in the original game the Impostor died trying to protect their fellow students their current position as the BigBad shows a major case of this. Possibly played with since as a member of SHSL Despair their villainy is assumedly identical to the sort of things they are currently doing, but as we never saw them in their SHSL Despair state before it still counts.
* AmbiguousGender: The Imposter is referred to with gender-neutral pronouns by the narration after Nanami sees through their disguise in private and after their reveal in the third trial. Them adopting a more Enoshima-like behavior pattern after this to contrast their male Togami Persona doesn't help.

* BigBad: Since somehow their strain of the Despair Disease didn't cause memory loss (just like the canon cases didn't) like all the other victims in the story did they have returned to their SHSL Despair state and seemingly have taken the reigns from Monokuma.

* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: According to [[spoiler: the Impostor]] she willingly [[spoiler: made a DealWithTheDevil with them, tossing ''all'' of her human students under the bus to ensure Nanami wouldn't be hurt by them while she had the Despair Fever (which in turn directly lead to Souda being attacked)]] and also claimed she didn't even bother to hold up her end of this "bargain". While this might not sound so ridiculus at a glance [[spoiler: as an AI made ''only'' to protect and help the humans put into her program as their "teacher" she has both no real reason to do this and shouldn't even have been capable of it in the first place]], not to mention how she'd know [[spoiler: the FF would be watching her throwing her duties away for someone who also prioritizes the safety of her friends over herself]]. While if this was all the result of [[spoiler: her catching the Despair Fever from watching over Nanami]] or not is unclear for the time being it still makes it look like she TookALevelInJerkAss.

* BadLiar: Souda proves he's just as bad at lying as he is {{Canon}}ically (not to mention [[spoiler:as bad as Saionji was in canon]]) when [[spoiler:he tries to deny having anything to do with the Shrine to Sonia-san]]. His DayInTheLimelight even shows he isn't even good at lying to ''himself'' since he clearly thought Koizumi would be more understanding of his actions because [[spoiler:Sonia killed in order to protect her from Pekoyama and Kuzuryu]]. Seeing how he is trying to deny [[spoiler:Sonia actually being the killer at all]] this contradiction is rather telling.

Very nervous individual who wants to help others any way she can. After Kuzuryu is injured before the second trial she often helps take care of him and trying to get him from making his injury worse.

* TheCaretaker: Plays this role to Kuzuryu to an extant after [[spoiler: his hands are horribly burned and he is still reeling from Pekoyama's death. He doesn't want her support so this is hard for her to do effectively though]].

* AdaptationalVillainy: While in the original game she never needed to be loyal to anyone aside from Kuzuryu here her [[spoiler: allowing Kuzuryu to play Twilight Syndrome]] is a direct betrayal of the trust Byakuya and Hinata put in her. [[spoiler: Her later trying to play the LadyMacbeth to Kuzuryu to try and convince him to graduate and having this scene be played to her intended victim Koizumi while the photographer made it clear she thought of the swordswoman as a friend only makes her seem worse.]]

* BerserkButton: Seeing anyone show respect to a murderer seems to set her off a little which comes to a head when [[spoiler: She sees Souda made a shrine to Sonia, not unlike the one she made for Koizumi in canon]] and assaults him for it. Upsetting Koizumi is a lesser one which the previous event also pressed.

* WalkingSpoiler: Like Byakuya if you haven't finished SuperDanganRonpa2 she may spoil some reveals for you.

* WhatTheHellHero: While not a "hero" she certainly didn't think she was in the wrong when [[spoiler: Koizumi]] finally gave her hell for the verbal (and sometimes physical) abuse she has done to her fellow students. Seeing how she was [[spoiler: Mocking Souda ''[[MoralEventHorizon for not being dead'']]'' after he just got physically stable ''and'' speaking ill of the actually dead Mikan]] also quite the WhatAnIdiot moment on Saionji's part.

* IdiotBall: In trial three [[spoiler: while his intentions were good trying to subdue the Impostor was his worst possible plan and [[HeroicSacrifice boy did he pay for it]].

* AdaptationalVillainy: Since his motiveless murder attempt goes awry again in a fashion that doesn't allow him to present or defend his case ([[BlueAndOrangeMorality not that he has much]]) he comes off a lot darker this time. [[spoiler: His Komaeda theaters make this odd in that while things like the Lucky Number Codes do show he is trying to warn Hinata (or the viewer) of future events he also made a point out of mocking Kazuichi as he thought the boy was dying and ''left'' instead of sticking around despite not seeming to have much else to do.]]

In place of the Monokuma theaters the games themselves contain Komaeda's spirit hosts his own spin on them while Hinata sleeps.

* NoEmpathy: Possibly even worse than her canon counterpart in this degree.

* BrattyHalfPint: She may look twelve but she is the same age as everyone else no matter how childish her antics get.

* MeaningfulRename: After losing her eye while unsuccessfully trying to drive Monokuma off, he starts mockingly calling her Monomi and it sticks.

* SparedByTheAdaption: She isn't the victim of the second case this time around.

* SupremeChef: His talent and life's work is to be this and have others enjoy his cuisine.

* DramaCongaLine: In addition to the obvious situation first he learns his crush [[spoiler: commits a murder]], then his denial long after the fact causes a rift between him and the others, then when he starts showing signs of recovery [[spoiler: he catches Despair fever and makes things ''worse'']], he is [[spoiler: nearly murdered while stuck in this state]], his friends only barely [[spoiler: manage to save his life in time for him to be present at Mikan's trial with no clue what happened while he was ill]], the person most responsible for [[spoiler: saving his life also turns out to be one of the ones to put it in danger for reasons that aren't gone into]], ''and'' now he and the others are all [[spoiler: stranded in the ocean when his injuries prevent him from even trying to swim to shore like the others can]]. In short this boy can ''not'' catch a break.

* LikeABrotherAndSister: With Akane, which she also sees as such. [[ShipperOnDeck Saionji doesn't care about that part though]].

* CluelessDudeMagnet: In addition to being hit on by Hanamura, Souda falls for her hard, and it is implied she and Gundam may have been getting close.
