!Woodland Residents
[[folder:Koroks]]
A race of small adorable PlantPeople who live in their namesake forest, acting as guardians of the Master Sword in a sense.
----
* TheAgeless: If the fact that they seem to know who Link is on sight, like Hestu, they seem to be long-lived. The fact that Hestu still seems to act a bit like a child indicates that they don't change in that time either.
* BewareTheCuteOnes: They may be adorable, but once emboldened, they're willing to fight, even if they aren't very effective.
* TheFairFolk: They really don't qualify because they're active heroic characters, but given where they live, they can come across this way, especially since they live in an EldritchLocation forest.
* HeroWorshipper: They all cheer Link on as he draws his Master Sword and reclaims it. They even swarm him like little children would a parent. Hestu has to actually shoo them away. They all have their own little nicknames for him, and some ask if he remembers them.
* HiddenBadass: They may be adorable and little, but make no mistake, they are willing to fight. [[spoiler: The Yiga learn this the hard way when the little ones start dropping heavy rocks on them from above.]]
* LongLived: They don't seem to age at all even.
* MythicalMotifs: Nymphs, specifically Dryads, in many ways, aside from gender.
** The general [[OurNymphsAreDifferent Nymph]] association comes from the fact that they're not exclusive to trees and live pretty much anywhere in the natural world from the hottest regions of Death Mountain to the coldest regions in Hebra.
** They specifically adhere to Dryads because the ones living in Korok Forest are PlantPeople who live to protect it from any external threats, like the Yiga and Ganon.
* NatureSpirit: They're the most heavily associated with the natural world.
* NotQuiteFlight: Only Hestu can fly. The others need to use propeller leaves to do the same.
* PlantPeople: They use leaves as propellers, and some of them even wear leaves as masks.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: They're little, they're cute, and they have a childlike worship for Link, cheering him on as if they were watching a performance.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: Not many people think highly of the Koroks. [[spoiler: The Yiga specifically, as they didn't think the Koroks would put up much of a fight and only sent a few Yiga Footsoldiers after them.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Great Deku Tree]]
The guardian of the Lost Woods and the Koroks. He also guards the Master Sword.
----
* GeniusLoci: The Koroks are shown living within and around them. Hestu unfortunately is too big to fit inside the Great Deku Tree.
* PhysicalGod: He's essentially the god of the forest, and the Koroks value him as one.
* ShipperOnDeck: When Zelda wanted him to hold onto a message for her, he reminds her that it would probably be better if she told him herself.
* WiseTree: The Great Deku Tree was entrusted to watch over the Master Sword by Zelda. He gives Link some advice, and fills him in on some details of events that happened in the past.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Hestu]]
An enormous Korok musician who can channel various powers through his maracas whenever he plays them.
----
* AdaptationalBadass: Thanks to a change in his powers, he's much more active in a fight, and gets a chance to do so.
* AdaptationalSuperpowerChange: He only has the power of inventory expansion in the original game, and a limited moveset in the prequel game. In ''Fanfic/BreathOfTheWild'', he's shown using several different kinds of mystical music bubbles with different effects on the environment.
* AscendedExtra: In ''Videogame/TheLegendOfZeldaBreathOfTheWild'' and ''Videogame/HyruleWarriorsAgeOfCalamity'', he's a minor character who has only tangential plot significance. In ''Fanfic/TheTriforceTrilogy'', his role is ascended, with him being the one who gives Link the locations where the various pictures on the Sheikah Slate were taken. [[spoiler: He also is an active participant in the war against the Yiga Clan during their massive invasion across the land.]]
* ColorCodedWizardry: The effects of Hestu's powers change depending on the color of the bubbles.
** Pure Red = miscellaneous mundane uses.
** Light Red = raw magical power and direct force.
** Purple = levitation and telekinesis.
** Yellow = electricity.
** Blue = snow and icy magic.
** Orange = fire.
** White = defensive and map marking.
* CompositeCharacter: Sheikah artist Pikango who helps Link finds the various locations on the Sheikah Slate is AdaptedOut. Hestu adopts this aspect of Pikango's role, helping Link find the various locations across Hyrule.
* FightingClown: He uses his powers to help entertain children, but he uses these same bubbles in combat, and ''it works''.
* GentleGiant: He's enormous, and a naturally timid cutie like the rest of the Koroks.
* LargeHam: Much of his dialogue is in all caps and he's incredibly energetic and bubbly.
* MagicMusic: His magic has different effects depending on what he's doing at the moment.
* MusicalAssassin: He uses the magic of his maracas to channel magic of different effects.
* PersonalityPowers: He's a very cute and bubbly individual, and his powers involve the creation of mystical bubbles.
* VerbalTic: "Skalaka!"
[[/folder]]

!Zoras
[[folder:General]]
A race of long-lived aquatic humanoids who live among the rivers and near the ocean.
----
* BarbieDollAnatomy: They wear no clothes, but Link make no observation of any genitals.
* BladeOnAStick: They specialize in spears, fitting with their aquatic nature as polearms are the most hydrodynamic weapons, as well as [[ProngsOfPoseidon tridents being associated with the god of the seas, Poseidon]].
* CantArgueWithElves: Elderly Zora are not very fond of Hylians, especially Link, because they fault him for the loss of Mipha. The younger ones avert this, as he was friends with many of them from when they were young children.
* {{Commune}}: They don't seem to have individual homes, instead living communally among each other, even royalty.
* FantasticRaceWeaponAffinity: They favor spears and elegant tridents. They also have a natural aversion to electric weapons because as an aquatic race, they're especially weak to the element.
* FishPeople: The Zora are shaped similarly to humans, but they're evolved for an aquatic life.
* InterspeciesRomance: As [[spoiler: Lochlia]] proves, romances can occur between Hylians and Zora. 100 years ago, it was very much frowned upon and [[spoiler: Mipha was rightfully afraid of backlash against Link just for being her lover and the father of her child.]]
* IrrationalHatred: One of the Zora openly admits that their animosity towards Link is incredibly unfounded. Kapson specifically admits that he knows that Mipha wasn't ''forced'' to be Champion, but it was easier to accept the idea that she was forced than to accept that they would have lost her either way.
* LongLived: They live for a long time, much like many sharks and whales can live for long periods, seemingly in excess of 200 years, if not more. They're one of the only races that personally remember Link. The young adults are fond of him, having seen him as a child, and the elders resent him, displacing their blame on him for their loss of Mipha.
* MythicalMotifs: Mermaids. They're fish-like humanoids with a penchant for spears and equally compatible in water as in on land. Unusually for this, their whole bodies are fish-like and they have legs instead of just having a fish tail with human upper bodies.
* NationalWeapon: Spears, implied to be the Silverscale Spears, are their default weapons. Royalty wield more ornate weapons, like Princess Mipha, the greatest warrior of all, wielding the Lightscale Trident. [[spoiler: Her daughter Lochlia modeled herself after her mother, creating a similarly designed Lightscale Spear]], Sidon uses Ceremonial Tridents that look identical to the Lightscale Trident, and King Dorephan uses an enormous Zora Battleaxe.
* NonMammalMammaries: Lochlia is the only Zora noted to have breasts, because [[spoiler: she's a Hylian-Zora hybrid.]]
* NoodlePeople: They're very slender and tall with very short legs. The royal family averts this, as Lochlia [[spoiler: has a Hylian's proportions as a hybrid herself]], Sidon is far taller, and King Dorephan who's genuinely enormous in all manners of the word.
* ProportionalAging: It's not a solid proportional rate, but Lochlia confirms that Zoras take many decades to reach full maturity. She says that she was still the equivalent to a teenager at age 90.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: Most of them are over 100 years old, especially the young adults who look the equivalent of Hylians in their twenties.
* SilverHasMysticPowers: They use weapons of silver and crystal.
* SuperSwimmingSkills: Natch, as they're fish people. They can create and enchant armor to do the same for non-Zora people.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:King Dorephan]]
King of the Zora, father of Mipha and Sidon, [[spoiler: grandfather to Lochlia, and great-grandfather to Mipha, Link, Leilani, and Solarri]].
----
* AnimalMotifs: Unlike the other Zora, he's described as being whale-like in appearance, mostly owing to his enormous size. His blue color is retained from the game, giving him more of a whale shark motif.
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: He's got a scar on his head, meaning he's seen some action. [[spoiler: He shows it off when he uses his massive Zora Battleaxe to shred Yiga opponents, and then caps it off by creating a mystical tsunami to wash away the survivors.]]
* EveryScarHasAStory: Link notes a scar on his head, but he never actually asks anyone about it.
* {{Foil}}: To King Rhoam: They both are raising their children without a wife, and their daughters were destined for roles in the fight against Ganon, and [[spoiler: said daughters had a romantic relationship with Link.]] But Rhoam was a FantasyForbiddingFather whose relationship with his daughter became estranged and consequently, she became abrasive to Link for a time. King Dorephan was a much kinder father whose children grew to be unflinchingly kind.
* TheGoodKing: He's very caring about his people, and in turn, they love him very much. He also is worried for more than just his own people, knowing that if the giant dam breaks, the floodwaters would devastate anything downstream. [[spoiler: He also had no issue with his daughter being in love with and having a daughter of her own with Link.]]
* HopeSpot: Upon seeing Link alive and well and ''still the same age'' 100 years after supposedly dying, and hearing that Princess Zelda was still alive in Hyrule Castle, he became hopeful that Mipha may still be alive inside Ruta. [[spoiler: It agonizes Link to tell crush this hope by telling him that she didn't make it, so much so that Link can't bring himself to [[NeverSayDie actually say outright that she's dead]], instead saying he met her spirit.]]
* LargeAndInCharge: Among a tribe of Zora that are all larger than Link, he notes that King Dorephan is ''massive''. [[spoiler: The Yiga are completely helpless against him when he attacks, to the point where they're completely ineffective against him.]]
* LikeASonToMe: As Link is [[spoiler: the father of his grandchild]], King Dorephan sees Link as family. He's noticeably crushed when Link admits that he's lost his memories of him and his family.
* MusicalThemeNaming: Along with the rest of his family, bearing names derived from solfège notes. In his case, it's the first two. '''Do'''-'''re'''-phan.
* NiceGuy: He's a joyful and friendly guy. It's pretty clear that both Mipha and Sidon especially took after him.
* OutlivingOnesOffspring: He outlived Mipha when she was killed by Waterblight Ganon. [[spoiler: But this time, Mipha left behind a granddaughter in whom the king could see her, who in turn gave him some great-grandchildren to remember her by.]]
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: [[spoiler: He fights alongside his people during the war against the Yiga, and is among them in the final battle against Calamity Ganon, fighting the horde of monsters emerging as Ganon's power rises.]]
* StoutStrength: His body is mostly torso, but that massive torso is nothing but muscle. [[spoiler: He can wield an axe as tall as a building to attack the invading Yiga Clan.]]
* TopHeavyGuy: Enough that his walk is described as a waddle.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Muzu]]
An elderly Zora who serves as the royal family's advisor.
----
* AnimalMotifs: He's explicitly stated to be like a manta ray.
* DisappointedInYou: Sidon and Dorephan aren't happy with his resistance to accepting Link's assistance.
* FantasticRacism: He's the most openly racist against Hylians, and especially Link. He was already discriminatory against Hylians before the Calamity, and blamed Link afterwards for Mipha's death. [[spoiler: He was mortified when he learned that Lochlia had Hylian ancestry, but claims to have never held it against her, but is still surprised when he learns that Mipha had hoped to marry Link one day.]]
* HumblePie: [[spoiler: He eases up on Link after he frees Ruta, and [[JerkassRealization admits that he was wrong for being so racist, and asks Link and Lochlia for forgiveness]].]]
* LampshadeHanging: He outright is aghast at the convenient timing with which Link remembers Mipha and Lochlia.
* TheMentor: He was Mipha's mentor, and he deeply cared for her.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: He's the only one described as being like a manta ray, versus the others that are shark-like.
* RacistGrandma: A Grandpa version, as he's an elderly Zora who despises Hylians, and especially Link. This is common among elderly Zora, but Muzu is the most openly rude to Link. [[spoiler: His greater anger is understandable because he didn't just live alongside Mipha, he was her mentor, and it hit him very deeply when she died.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Bazz]]
The husband to Princess Lochlia, and the father of her children, who was close friends with Link when he was a child. He mentored Bazz in the ways of sword fighting. He works as a Zora soldier in adulthood.
----
* BattleCouple: He's a Zora soldier who's married to Lochlia, the Zora Princess who takes after [[spoiler: her mother in combat proficiency]].
* ChildhoodFriends: With Link. He's surprised to see Link 100 years later not only alive but the same age as he was 100 years earlier.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: Possibly. He was a child at the same time Princess Lochlia was. They grew up together, so it's very possible that they've known each other since that time.
* GoodParents: There's no indication that he's anything but a genuinely good parent to his four children.
* HeroWorshipper: He's nothing but fond of Link and worships the memory of him.
* IfYouEverDoAnythingToHurtHer: [[spoiler: Link]] gives him this threat, and it makes Bazz nervous. He promises that he will take care of Lochlia.
* TheLeader: He's the captain of the guard, and his subordinates listen to him without question.
* MirrorCharacter: His life ended up mirroring his mentor, Link's. [[spoiler: Both are high-ranking knights who fall in love with the princess of their kingdoms.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Royal Great-Grandchildren]]
Princess Lochlia's four children with Bazz, Mipha, Link, Leilani, Solarri.
----
* AlwaysIdenticalTwins: Averted. They're both sets of twins, but they're not identical, as they're all different colors.
* CheerfulChild: They're bundles of joy, and they're not even questioning it when they learn that Link is their father.
* ColorCodedForYourConvenience: Young Mipha is light blue, young Link is deep blue, Leilani is pink, and Solarri is purple.
* DeadGuyJunior: Mipha is named after her late maternal grandmother. Link is not this trope, because Lochlia knew that her father was still alive.
* SuperpowerfulGenetics: Leilani and Mipha inherited Mipha's Grace.
* TakeUpMySword: They physically offer an object to someone else in honor of another character.
** They offer the Lightscale Trident to Link at the behest of King Dorephan.
** They each bring all of the Champions' gear to the New Champions [[spoiler: to use against the Yiga Clan]] at the behest of Link himself.
[[/folder]]

!Gerudo
[[folder:General]]
A race of enormous muscular humans that are entirely women. They make their home in their namesake desert.
----
* AmazonBrigade: [[spoiler: They show off how much of an effective unit of combat they are when they band together against the Yiga Clan's assault on their hometown. They escape with no deaths on their side.]]
* AmazonianBeauty: Young adult Gerudo are very tall and regarded as incredibly beautiful women. As they age, they lose their hourglass figure until they become rather ectomorphic in body shape. They take advantage of this and travel the world in the hopes of finding a husband.
* BareYourMidriff: Their default outfit is them wearing an outfit that shows off their incredibly muscular and defined abs. In fact, the entire point may be to do this, because they wear this when traveling, presumably in the hopes of finding a husband.
* BedlahBabe: The outfits they wear match this to a t.
* BlingOfWar: They have a fondness for jewelry, and it tends to be part of their armor and weaponry.
* CodeOfHonor: A few Gerudo discover Link's gender, but they don't reveal it out of respect for him. Muava doesn't because he listens to her story when she tends to be ignored. [[spoiler: This is no longer the case when Riju decrees that he's allowed in the village undisguised.]]
* {{Conlang}}: They mostly speak English but they sprinkle in a few of their own language's words into their speech. They're the only race with their own unique language.
* ContraltoOfDanger: Whenever a Gerudo's voice is described, it will always be deep, booming, and commanding.
* DarkSkinnedRedhead: Most of the Gerudo are described this way, being as dark as people from Africa and having hair as red as rubies. But there are some who are much lighter skinned like Captain Teake, and others have more pink hair than red.
* FantasticRaceWeaponAffinity: Swords and shields. Specifically, ornate scimitars and gem-encrusted shields. Some of them use large claymores like Buliara, and others use spears.
* GoldMakesEverythingShiny: Their weapons are described as being quite shiny, and some of their names match accordingly.
* HartmanHips: As early as their teens, their hips are already twice the circumference of their shoulders, making them incredibly curvaceous. Link typically notes it whenever he sees a Gerudo.
* HorseOfADifferentColor: They move across the sand with the help of sand seals, pinniped-like creatures that swim across the sand while pulling their {{shield surf}}ing masters behind them.
* LadyLand: It's not out of disgust for men, but Gerudo Town only consists of women, and men have to dress in disguise to gain entry into the town. Many Gerudo have loving husbands, and they dearly love their families in kind. [[spoiler:Riju lessens this when she allows Champion Link to enter their town, as well as Gerudo and their husbands.]] Gorons are allowed in, to Link's confusion, although it's implied that if they didn't allow Gorons in, they'd never be able to trade with the as-of-yet all-male Gorons. Given that so many women and girls have no experience with men, hardly any of them see past his disguise.
* LegendFadesToMyth: Modern Gerudo are aware of Calamity Ganon's past as Ganondorf, but they believe that it was just a form it adopted, not that Ganondorf was an authentic living being. [[spoiler: They learn the truth that he was a victim of Demise's curse as well, and Riju seems poised to help him reintegrate into their society.]]
* MagicalAccessory: Rhondson is the only one shown doing it, but they can use jewelry to empower their clothes with protective properties against heat.
* MythicalMotifs: The Amazons. These are a race of highly muscular warrior women who don't allow men into their home, and whose leader has power to control lightning.
* NationalWeapon: The scimitar and shield. While some use claymores and spears, most soldiers use the scimitar and shield combination. Even Urbosa used this combo with her Scimitar of the Seven and the Daybreaker.
* OneGenderRace: They are all exclusively made up of women. They only reproduce by going out and traveling to find husbands, all of whom currently seen consist of Hylian men. Riju reveals that Ganondorf was the last male born to them. [[spoiler:With Zelda freeing Ganondorf from the curse, and the reveal to everyone that he was a victim just like they were, it seems that there will now be a single male Gerudo in existence once more.]]
* OpenSecret: If Rhondson is any hint, it's known that men sneak into town by disguising themselves as women.
* PointyEars: The narration never reveals if they do or don't have these like their do in the game.
* PoirotSpeak: They mostly speak proper English, but they often use their own language for greetings, and often say "voe" and "vai" in place of "man/men" and "woman/women".
* ProudMerchantRaceGuy: Their town is a major center of commerce, as they often trade in jewelry and other desert-originating products to the rest of Hyrule.
* SecretKeeper: A few of the residents see through Link's disguise, but they don't ever rat him out. [[spoiler: They eventually don't need to, because Riju decides that Link shall be permitted into town.]]
* ShesGotLegs: To go with their StatuesqueStunner build, they have long, toned legs, emphasized by their HartmanHips.
* StatuesqueStunner: They're all incredibly tall, and they're renowned for their AmazonianBeauty.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Buliara]]
Riju's personal bodyguard, and she's very protective of her charge.
----
* ActionGirl: She's a Gerudo who serves as Riju's personal bodyguard. [[spoiler:She's incredibly effective in a fight, as the Yiga and eventually Hollow Urbosa learn the hard way.]]
* AscendedExtra: She gets more to do later in ''Fanfic/BreathOfTheWild'', where she [[spoiler:participates in the war against the Yiga, and even gets a chance to wield Urbosa's Scimitar of the Seven in combat.]]
* BodyguardingABadass: Riju is an AdaptationalBadass who is willing to get into a fight, but Buliara will stop at nothing to keep her safe.
* CoolBigSis: She's way younger than Link in all aspects, but she's literally bigger than he is, and adopts this role to him by telling him that [[spoiler: he did the right thing by slaying the Yiga Clan]].
* DefrostingIceQueen: She's cold and distant and untrusting of Link at first, but she quickly warms to Link enough to give him a [[spoiler: talk about his massacre of the Yiga Clan, where she reassures him that he did the right thing, and tells him that Hyrule is safer for it.]]
* FrontlineGeneral: [[spoiler: She fights alongside her soldiers against the Yiga Clan, and alongside Riju.]]
* HiddenDepths: She's a hardcore warrior who's extremely blunt and dismissive of strangers, and is implied to have experienced a lot of violence...but she apparently also has enough of a heart and mind and knowledge to be an effective therapist, as she helps Link through a traumatic moment seamlessly.
* NotSoStoic: [[spoiler:She's shown happy and enthusiastic when her people are celebrating their victory over Calamity Ganon.]]
* RedOniBlueOni: She's the red, very blunt with Link and usually uncompromising, with Riju playing the reasonable and clam blue.
* SeenItAll: The narration mentions that Buliara, as a Gerudo soldier, has seen some stuff, but learning that [[spoiler:a pregnant Sheikah woman was brutally slain by the Yiga]] rattles her, as well as the guards that happen to hear it.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Captain Teake]]
Buliara's subordinate, and the captain of the Gerudo soldiers.
----
* ActionGirl: Just like the rest of the Gerudo.
* BerserkButton: She unintentionally presses Link's when speaking of the Gerudo, and notices his reaction.
* BitCharacter: She doesn't have much of a role or plot relevance.
* FrontlineGeneral: [[spoiler: She fights alongside her soldiers in the war against the Yiga.]]
* NotSoStoic: Along with Buliara, [[spoiler: she's shown for once being happy after their victory over Calamity Ganon.]]
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: She has none of it when Link enters the barracks, at least until he reveals that Buliara sent him, at which point she unequivocally believes him and helps him out.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Barta]]
A Gerudo soldier who gets herself into trouble, first seen imprisoned in the Yiga Clan hideout.
----
* ActionGirl: She's a Gerudo. She fights alongside Link to combat the Yiga Clan inside the hideout.
* IOweYouMyLife: One of the reasons she sticks by to help Link in Yiga Clan Hideout.
* LeeroyJenkins: She barged into the Yiga hideout without any backup and nearly got killed because of it.
* NoOneGetsLeftBehind: She refuses to leave Link when he gets trapped behind a metal wall. She only does so when Link insists, and she goes to get him help.
* NotQuiteDead: She's almost dead by the time Link finds her. He saves her with Mipha's Grace, much to her surprise.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Muava]]
An elderly Gerudo woman who takes care of the Goddess Statue that's found on a lonely corner of Gerudo Town.
----
* TheAloner: She's never seen with any other Gerudo, but she doesn't seem to mind so much.
* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: She says that other Gerudo avoid her, which is why she stays near the Goddess Statue, because they're both neglected.
* BackForTheFinale: [[spoiler: She comes back in the final chapter, having chosen to take Purah's de-aging rune, and gives thanks to the Goddesses for having been granted a second chance in life, and not only to chase her dreams again, but live life completely, not just contently.]]
* IWasQuiteALooker: She nearly name drops this. She, like most Gerudo, was an AmazonianBeauty in her youth, enough that men always looked at her when she walked in. [[spoiler: She gets to show it when she takes Purah's de-aging rune, and it once more a beautiful muscular young woman.]]
* LoveAtFirstSight: She chastises her younger self for having a "fairytale notion" for love, believing that she'd find love at some special place. She didn't know that it really existed. [[spoiler: She learns otherwise from Link, and also learns of Purah's life-extension rune work. She ultimately chooses to take back a second chance for her life.]]
* SecretKeeper: She easily sees through Link's disguise, much to his horror. However, she chooses not to tell him, and just requests that he stay and talk with her for a bit.
[[/folder]]

!Rito
[[folder:General]]
A tribe of avian humanoids that live in the windy Tabantha region around a spire-like mountain.
----
* AnimalEyes: If Revali's eyes are any indication, they're eyes have vertical pupils like that of a cat.
* BirdPeople: Various members are given direct birdlike comparisons, and all of them are feathered with beaks and talons.
* EntertaininglyWrong: At first, members of this race believe that Link's a descendant of the Hylian Champion from 100 years before, not knowing that he's actually the very same person and presume the Sheikah Slate is a family heirloom. It's not until they notice the Master Sword and Link reveals that [[spoiler: he knows of Revali's sister]] that they realize otherwise.
* FantasticRaceWeaponAffinity: Choose any random combatant among the Rito, it's very likely that they'll use bows. They do have spears and blades, but they don't typically use them as much as their archery equipment.
* FeatherFingers: The Rito's fingers are feathered, as are the rest of their bodies.
* InformedFlaw: Averted. While in the game, their night vision being poor means nothing, here, it means that Link and Teba will have greater struggle against Medoh since approaching it during the day is too risk, leaving Link to be the one to shoot at Medoh while Teba acts as a distraction.
* MundaneUtility: They use their own feathers to craft cold-resistant clothing for non-Rito, specifically Hylians. And as their feathers keep them safe from the cold, they're very good at their job.
* MythicalMotifs: The Ornithese Areioi, the Birds of Ares, masterful archers who guarded the Amazons' sacred temple built to Ares on an island in the Black Sea. The Rito are the best archers in the land who live on an island in Lake Totori, and have a sacred Sheikah Shrine within their village.
* NationalWeapon: Bows, as they're very fitting for aerial combat. The Swallow Bow is their standard bow. The Falcon Bow from the game is never mentioned or seen, but the Great Eagle Bow is regarded as the greatest of them all.
* NotQuiteFlight: They have a hard time with flying. They can flap their wings to gain some height, but it's more difficult with their size compared to other birds. They mostly glide and stay level, and only ascend with natural updrafts. This is why Revali's Gale was such an amazing accomplishment, as it allowed them genuine flight.
* SecretKeeper: Apparently. In the present day, the fact that Revali had a sister and said sister is the ancestor to Teba is something that's kept from outsiders. It's never explained why this is the case, beyond Saki saying "complicated reasons".
* StayInTheKitchen: Unlike the Zora, which makes it clear that women and men fight on the front lines together, there's explicit mentioning of the Rito warriors being male. [[spoiler: Saki is the sole female Rito fighter in their ranks.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Saki]]
Teba's caring wife who helps Link find him.
----
* ActionMom: She's a mother to a young son, Tulin, and she's the sole ActionGirl among the Rito warriors.
* AdaptationalBadass: She's only a HiddenBadass in the original game, where she's largely inactive and instead relegates helping her husband to other people, with hints that she is a skilled archer who just doesn't fight because of her culture. However, this version of her [[spoiler: joins in the war against the Yiga alongside her husband and the male Rito.]]
* {{Housewife}}: She defaults to taking care of Tulin while Teba is out to fight Medoh. [[ActionMom But she's no pushover...not by a long shot.]]
* NonMammalianHair: Link notes that she has actual hair. It makes him wonder for a moment if she's got some Hylian ancestry within her, but he doesn't ask her.
* PinkMeansFeminine: Downplayed. She's a very feminine woman who's very caring and motherly...but she's also very much an ActionMom.
* RedOniBlueOni: She's the sweet-hearted and kind blue to her husband's blunt and dismissive red.
* RoseHairedSweetie: She's described as purple-pink, and her human hair is the same color. She's quite a sweet and gentle person compared to her much more blunt husband and equally blunt-but-sweet son.
* ViolentlyProtectiveWife: [[spoiler: She has none of it when the Yiga are attacking and once more, Teba is sent out to fight. She joins in on the fight with him.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Tulin]]
Teba and Taki's son.
----
* DemotedToExtra: He never actually speaks in this fic, compared to how Link can speak with him directly.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: He's described as being equally grey as his father, and both are in turn similarly colored to their ancestor Sakki.
* TheOneGuy: He's the only male Rito child named in the fic.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Harth]]
One of the warriors among the Rito. He's close friends with Teba. He and Teba, and what are implied to be a larger group of Rito, attacked Medoh, resulting in the deaths of many Rito, and Harth's injury.
----
* AdaptationalBadass: He's a Rito warrior in canon, but he's never seen fighting. This time, he joins Teba on the frontlines of the [[spoiler: Yiga War]] and makes it clear why he's a warrior.
* {{Foil}}: To Teba. Teba is dismissive and cold towards Link when they first meet, Harth is much warmer towards him. Harth also wants to save his best friend's life over guarding the village from the greater threat of Medoh, while Teba is willing to put his life on the line to help the greater good of his people.
* HairContrastDuo: Teba has grey feathers leaning towards white, while Harth is outright a black bird.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Kass]]
A wandering Rito who sings along with his family.
----
* AscendedExtra: He makes sporadic appearances throughout the story, but his role ascends during the arc that adapts "The Champions' Ballad". In fact, it's there where his backstory is more fleshed out.
* GentleGiant: He's described as being larger than the already tall Link, but he's a very sweet man.
* HappilyMarried: To Amali, with whom he has five daughters, and whom he cares about deeply.
* TheHeart: He's a very empathetic person and is shown giving comfort talks to Link and Kaneli at various points.
* INeverToldYouMyName: He addresses Link by name even though Link never actually said his name to Kass. Link notices and keeps a closer eye on him. [[spoiler: Kass himself admits this mistake and said that he quietly hoped that Link wouldn't have picked up on it.]]
* RelatedInTheAdaptation: Implied. One of his daughters calls Kaneli her grandfather. This is never expanded upon, and thus it's left unknown if that's just how children address their elder, or if Kass or Amali are a child of Kaneli.
* RhymesOnADime: All of his singing is this. He doesn't talk like this, though.
* SecretSecretKeeper: [[spoiler: Kass accidentally reveals that he knows who Links is, but he doesn't outright tell him this until much later on.]]
* SharedFamilyQuirks: He, his wife, and his daughters are all very talented musicians and singers.
* TheOneGuy: To his family of seven. His wife is obviously female, and his children are all girls. He's the sole male in his family.
* WholesomeCrossdresser: He implies that in order to enter Gerudo Town, he had to dress as a woman. He only says, like in canon, he "had to leave his comfort zone".
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Kaneli]]
The elder of the Rito Tribe, who mistakes Link for his own descendant, and sends him to aid in calming Medoh.
----
* AdiposeRex: He is a very large guy and very rotund. He's friendly, but it stands out from the otherwise generally slender Rito.
* AnimalMotifs: He looks like an owl.
* BeardOfBarbarism: Link notices that he has a very thick beard befitting his apparent age.
* EntertaininglyWrong: He knows of the Champions and the Sheikah Slate, but he doesn't seem to know about the Shrine of Resurrection, and doesn't know that Link was actually put in that chamber to be brought back to life. Because of this, he thinks Link descends from the Hylian Champion who inherited the Sheikah Slate, but seeing the Master Sword and hearing Link talk of Revali's sister makes him realize otherwise.
* {{Foil}}: To Impa. They're both wise old leaders of their people who assist Link in his quest and were fighters in their youth. But Impa knew who Link was, while Kaneli initially mistook him for his own descendant.
* MythologyGag: His catchphrase in the game was "hoo hoo hoo!", befitting his owl-like appearance. This version of him only says it once.
* TheOwlKnowingOne: He looks like an owl, and from all intents and purposes is quite a reasonable leader of his people, and Kola implies that he tells the children stories like a grandfather would.
* RetiredBadass: He used to be a fighter in his youth, and he also apparently believed at one point that all Rito should mandatorily be warriors for a part of their life. [[spoiler: He regrets that he isn't able to help his warriors fight the Yiga Clan personally, and feels that not mandating combat training left his people unprepared for a fight of this scale.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Takki]]
Revali's older sister.
----
* DeadpanSnarker: When Link talks about combat as an art form in a very literary sense, she dryly remarks that Link should write books and poetry for a living. Link [[SarcasmMode sarcastically]] agrees with her.
* InformedAttribute: Revali claims that his sister is stubborn, but we don't see her being anything beyond a DeadpanSnarker in the one scene she has.
* InTheBlood: According to Revali, stubbornness is a trait that Takki had, and her descendant Teba is equally stubborn.
* NoHeroToHisValet: From what little is seen of her, she doesn't seem anywhere near as impressed as all other Rito with her brother, regarding him with the same kind of annoyance any older sister would their showoff of a baby brother.
* OneShotCharacter: In ''Fanfic/BreathOfTheWild'', she only appears briefly in Chapter 27 during Link's flashback featuring Revali.
* OriginalCharacter: Revali is never demonstrated as having ''any'' close family in neither ''Videogame/TheLegendOfZeldaBreathOfTheWild'' nor ''Videogame/HyruleWarriorsAgeOfCalamity''.
* RedOniBlueOni: She's the friendly and amiable Blue to her brother Revali's abrasive and blusterous red.
* SiblingYinYang: She's friendly, amiable, and very light in color. Revali is abrasive, boastful, and very dark in color. That being said, Revali also has light spots on his body, hinting at some of his sister's kinder nature in him.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: She's described as being the same color as Teba, her descendant.
[[/folder]]

!Gorons
[[folder:General]]
A race of enormous rock-like beings who live in the active volcano of Death Mountain in Eldin.
----
* AlliterativeName: The Gorons' main weapons are Cobble Crushers, Stone Smashers, and the Boulder Breaker.
* BeTheBall: They curl themselves into a ball to roll around.
* EatDirtCheap: It's implied that they eat rocks, if Daruk's dialogue is anything to go by, just like in canon.
* FantasticRaceWeaponAffinity: Enormous weapons that can break and crush rock with ease. They're said to be greatswords, but they're more like giant hammers.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: None of the Gorons ever make any mention of any possible approaching Calamity, and they're more concerned about Rudania's rampage being bad for business than anything else. Subverted, because [[spoiler: they're included in the Yiga Clan war, and they become active participants against the dark forces in the final battle.]]
* MythicalMotifs: Golems. They're beings almost made entirely of rock, and while they're not idiots, they're at first the most oblivious to Calamity Ganon's threat.
* NationalWeapon: They use giant hammer-like weapons that are ostensibly called greatswords. They're the default weapon of Gorons, though some of the do use giant pickaxes instead. Most of them use Stone Smashers and Cobble Crushers, or in Daruk's case, the Boulder Breaker.
* OneGenderRace: There's not a single female Goron seen or mentioned, and unlike the Gerudo mentioning Ganondorf, there's no indication if there's ever been a female Goron.
* PowerfulPick: Some Gorons use their giant pickaxes to fight with instead of more traditional Goron weaponry.
* {{Prospector}}: These guys specialize in mining gemstones and selling them to the other races, a very valuable practice.
* SiliconBasedLife: They look to be literally made of rock.
* StoutStrength: They tend to be very large with small legs and apparently swollen. But much of that size is musculature, and they're the physically strongest race in Hyrule.
* SuperStrength: They're naturally stronger than any other race in Hyrule.
* SuperToughness: Being made of rocks, they can take ''way'' more punishment than poor Hylians can.
* VolcanoLair: Death Mountain is an active volcano with lava flowing around it. They're evolved to have immunity the burning heat, so this is no issue for them.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Bludo]]
The boss of Goron City, managing leadership necessities while protecting the city from dangerous external threats. He's regarded as the toughest and strongest Goron in the story, though his back pains make his job difficult.
----
* AdaptationalBadass: Despite supposedly driving off Rudania with Yunobo's help, he's not showing do is in the game. He doesn't do it in this version either, but he does get into fights in this story, especially [[spoiler: with the Yiga Clan trying to lay siege to his hometown.]]
* BenevolentBoss: He's a bit sour, but he values his Gorons, and they all value his leadership.
* CrackOhMyBack: He's so old that he suffers regular backpains, and it's to the point where can't always do what he wants or needs even with painkillers.
* EyepatchOfPower: Link takes not that he wears an eyepatch.
* RetiredBadass: He seems ancient compared to other characters, but he goes on the front lines to combat Rudania. [[spoiler: He leads them for real against the Yiga Clan's invasion.]]
* WorfHadTheFlu: His back problems prevent him from helping against Rudania after Link arrives, which he lampshades. [[spoiler:He's much more effective in the Yiga War when the clan attempts to kill him, Yunobo, and wipe out his town.]]
