Ing appears in the ''Second Original Generation'' escaping from the Gaia Sabers' headquarters on Aidoneus Island, but is caught up by Duvan Org in the Alles Geist and shot down in his escaping unit. Floating near-lifelessly in an escape pod, Ing is found by members of the "[[Characters/SuperRobotWarsReversal L&E Corporation]]" and brought aboard the ''Hagane'' for recovery. Unfortunately, Ing reawakens with no memories of who he is, but willingly accepts to help the crew and their situation during their sojourn into La Gias by using the "R-Blade Custom". After returning to the surface world and sensing his extraordinary piloting capabilities, Ing is given a custom [=EXbein=] called the "Ashe" (the [=EXbein=] having [[CanonImmigrant first appeared in]] ''The Inspectors''), after Gaia Sabers member Amara Barton destroys all of Mao Industries' Huckebeins. By the end of the game, Ing is drafted into the reformed "PTX Team", headed by [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsClassic Irmgult Kazahara]].

* CallBack: Doubles as a ''very'' subtle piece of {{Foreshadowing}} (see below) - when he joins the Steel Dragon Battle Group, he sorties in an R-Blade Custom. [[spoiler:In ''[[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsAlpha Super Robot Wars Alpha 3]]'', the R-Blade Custom is the only machine [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAlpha Cobray Gordon]] could be swapped into other than the Werkbau and Dis Astranagant]].

* {{Foreshadowing}}: Because of TheOtherDarrin, the fact Ing isn't voiced by Creator/AkiraIshida, who portrays all the Machinery Children, is a clue about who he really is. Just like Cobray, Ing's first {{Leitmotif}} is a composite remix of [[spoiler:"Gate of Magus", the {{Leitmotif}} of the Machinery Children, and "Time Diver", which belongs to Ingram]].

* MeaningfulName: His name is derived from "Inguz"; in keeping the ThemeNaming of the Machinery Children, Inguz is a Nordic rune which resembles two Xs together. [[spoiler:Makes sense when you consider his MidSeasonUpgrade is called the "EX-[=EXbein=]" ([[DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment no, really]])]].

** AceCustom: The Ashe has been modified from the [=EXbein=] significantly, though it's probably because it was put together with a bunch of spare parts, [[spoiler:after it was damaged by Amara and the Galilnagant]].
** Additionally, [[spoiler:the EX [=EXbein=]]] can potentially be a testbed for the technology that will later be incorporated into the [[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsAlpha SRX Altered Banpreios]].

* UnrealisticBlackHole: [[spoiler:As per the standard for the Huckebein, the Black Hole Buster Cannon starts with Ing trapping his target in a psychic field before blasting them with a black hole from the {{BFG}} that generates smaller black holes; [[StuffBlowingUp they all wind up exploding]]]].
* UnwittingPawn: [[spoiler:''Everything'' he does is a part of Arteil Steinbeck's plan]].

Female protagonist of ''Real Robot Regiment'', Ariel Org is "Subject Zero", the first of the ArtificialHuman-based "Idealants Project". In her game of origin, she is tasked by her dying creator Dr. Ozunu to pilot the Flickerei Geist and stop her "brother" Duvan Org, the second android created by the project, after he destroys Ozunu's lab. Ariel allies with the [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing Preventers]] to pursue Duvan, but also learns to express herself, as she believes she lacks the emotional capabilities of a human. When Ariel defeats Duvan and his transformed Alles Geist, the machines disappear in a brilliant flash of light. While everyone comments that Ariel is likely dead, she manages to escape to the Guyana Highlands and lives the rest of her remaining life in memory of her brother.

In the ''Second Original Generation'', Ariel begins as a member of the Gaia Sabers along with Duvan, but after witnessing its atrocities and questioning their methods, she flees with the Flickerei Geist with some help from Professor Eric Wong. Seeing another display of the Gaia Sabers' methods, she immediately defects to the Steel Dragon Battle Group.

Ariel pilots the Flickerei Geist, a machine made from parts of the Gespenst MK III and various other Personal Troopers. In the ''Second Original Generation'', the Flickerei is made from parts of scrapped machines, including the Rapiecage and some elements of the Alt Eisen, particularly the right arm torn off by Axel during Operation Plantagenet in ''Original Generation 2''.

** Overlaps with MeaningfulName[=/=]ThemeNaming, as the original form of their surname Org should "Ogre". By translating their complete names in Japanese, they become "Devant Ogre" (or "Zenki", as in ''front demon'') and "Arriere Ogre" (or "Gouki", as in ''rear demon''). Their mecha also reflect this: Alles is the larger of the two (representing the ''Zenki'') while Flickerei is much smaller (representing the ''Gouki''). Finally their "father" Dr. Ozunu is a reference to the [[http://eos.kokugakuin.ac.jp/modules/xwords/entry.php?entryID=425 "En-no-Ozunu" Shinto folk tale]], thus completing the circle.

* YourDaysAreNumbered: [[spoiler:Ariel's short lifespan is due to being a product of the Idealants Project. Lamia has been sent to solve this problem at the end of the ''Second Original Generation'']].

The CoolOldGuy among the originals, Daitetsu Minase was the captain of the space-exploration ship ''Hiryu'' years before the events of the first game. After a deadly encounter with the Aerogaters near Pluto, the ''Hiryu'' was forced to retreat after being overpowered. This incident hovers over Daitetsu, as he swears he won't allow such a near-death incident to happen again. By then, he's moved to a rank of commandant of a military academy, where he trains his future XO and protege Tetsuya Onodera, Lee Linjun and Lefina Einfeld. Just as he becomes captain of the newly christened ''Space-Noah'' class battleship ''Shirogane'' (with Tetsuya as his deputy), [[Characters/MasouKishin Shu Shirakawa]] damages it with the Granzon before its maiden voyage. Despite two ship disasters on his record, Daitetsu's given command of the second ''Space-Noah'' battleship ''Hagane'' during the Divine Crusaders War. Fortunately, he has more success, as the ''Hagane'' single-handedly attacks its headquarters and achieves total victory. Depending on which route you take in the game, the ''Hagane'' is either scuttled in order to infiltrate the White Star or assists the rebuilt ''Hiryu Custom'' in the assault.

* TheCaptain: All Space Noah-class battleships were under his command, even if it was for a short period.
* CaptainErsatz: The [=SRW=] equivalent of [[Anime/UchuuSenkanYamato Juzo Okita]], right down to the amphibious [[TheBattlestar Battlestar]] with a WaveMotionGun.
* CoolOldGuy: Gains a lot of admiration and respect from the younger cast members. In fact, [[spoiler:a funeral is held following the [[PlayerPunch tragic]] [[WhamEpisode scenario]]. To that end, some of the character portraits has them crying, and even Elzam arrives ''in person'' rather than in his Ratsel persona, as visiting his funeral using his disguise, in his own words, is disgracing Daitetsu's memories]].
* GoodSmokingEvilSmoking: Averted. We consistently see Daitetsu with a corn-cob pipe in his mouth, but we rarely see him lighting it or taking a puff.
* HeroicWillpower: [[spoiler: The injuries he receives at Langley are fatal, but Daitetsu holds out long enough to ensure a safe retreat for both ships before quietly succumbing.]]

* BunnyEarsLawyer: Starts out the comic relief and nearly seems useless; hell, this is even reflected in his Spirit Command list. Then, when you least expect it, Tetsuya shows just why he graduated so high in his class.
* CantHoldHisLiquor: Unlike Daitetsu, Tetsuya can't really hold his liquor well and gets drunk rather easily. It's gotten to a point where he's mocked for having such low tolerance.
* DemotedToExtra: He's back to being the XO of the Hagane to make way for newcomer Gint. The reason is that, while it was an accident, he did [[spoiler: kill Graien in the last game.]]
* DynamicEntry: What do you think the drill on the ''Kurogane'' is used for?

* RammingAlwaysWorks: Subverts it in ''Original Generation'', then plays it gloriously straight in the sequel.

Captain of the refitted ''Hiryu Custom'', Lefina gradutated at the top of her class and given command of the ship on what's labelled as a "trial basis". At 18 years-old, Lefina is shy, nervous and very unsure of her abilities. As a result, she tends to defer a lot of decisions to the more experienced leaders, like deputy captain Sean Webley (Daitetsu's former adjutant on the ''Hiryu'') and ATX Team leaders Sanger and Kyosuke. During the Divine Crusaders War, she leads the ''Hiryu Custom'' and the ATX Team against the entire United Colony Corps defensive force and slowly matures into a dependable leader. The ''Hiryu Custom'' succeeds in defeating the Corps and re-establishing Earth Federation control in space. She also participates in the L5 Campaign; however, Lefina's involvement varies slightly depending on which route the player chooses. After the war, the ''Hiryu Custom'' is assigned to the Icarus asteroid base in the asteroid belt beyond Mars.

* MeaningfulName: "Hiryu" means "soaring dragon". Not only is the meaning supposed to be a reference to it "soaring through space", but also because the battleship's bow was designed to ''look'' like a [[http://i.imgur.com/DDRLG.jpg dragon]].
* YoungAndInCharge: While not the youngest character in the cast, Lefina is the highest ranking member in the Steel Dragon Battle Group, while simultaneously the youngest of the other commanders by a substantial number of years.

Vice-Captain of the ''Hiryu Custom'', Sean is a close friend of Daitetsu and loves to spend time drinking with him. He was previously the second-in-command of the ''Hiryu'' with Daitetsu as the commanding officer, before their trip near Pluto and their first encounter with the Aerogators. One of his hobbies include openly guessing the three sizes of the female crew and pilots, even flirting with them.

* HandsomeLech: Sean may be tempered by age, but he represents what an OfficerAndAGentleman is - doesn't flirt, grope or leer on the many attractive females, though he makes it clear he appreciates their presence. Note pre-ContinuityReboot, he's responsible for forcing Latooni to permanently wear her ElegantGothicLolita outfit.

* OneLastSmoke: Variation; Sean had saved a bottle of Scotch to share with [[spoiler:Daitetsu if they succeeded with Operation Plantagenet]]. [[LibationForTheDead He tosses away the bottle into the sea as an offering to his fallen friend.]]

* CanonForeigner: Debuts in ''The Inspector''; however, she appears in the ''Second Original Generation'', rendering her a...

* KindheartedCatLover: Finds 'em adorable and has a cat-themed coffee mug. She was particularly happy to meet Masaki's familiars in 2ndOG.

An advisor for the Tesla-Leicht Institute, and the master of the ''Jigen-ryuu'' ("Jigen-style") of swordsmanship, Master Rishu Tougou is the teacher to Sanger and Bullet. A good-natured man, when it comes to matters of the sword, Rishu is strict. At his time in Tesla-Leicht, he's provided the motion data for the [[{{BFS}} Colossal Blade]] and its development.

* AscendedExtra: Was partially available for use in ''2.5: Unified Wisdom'', but is fully playable beginning with ''Original Generation Gaiden''.
* CoolOldGuy: Remember, folks - this is the man who taught Sanger to be a {{badass}}.

* MythologyGag: His ancestor was Ryuuma Tougou, the pilot of the [=RyuKoOh=] centuries back in the ''[=RyuKoOh=] Denki'' manga.

* SimpleYetAwesome: The Type-0 lacks the [[TransformingMecha Transforming]]/CombiningMecha abilities of the later Grungust models, and its built-in weapons don't consist of more than Missile Launchers, a RocketPunch and a ChestBlaster. But as Rishu himself put it:

* SoLastSeason: Averted; the Type-0 was decommissioned prior to ''Original Generation 2'', but when it makes its return, it's still one of the strongest units in ''Original Generation Gaiden'' all the way towards the ''Second Original Generation''. Justified, as the machine is upgraded with technology from its successors (namely "TGC Joints" and a plasma generator) during its absence off-screen.
* SuperPrototype: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]] and [[JustifiedTrope Justified]]. While the Type-0 is one of the strongest units in ''OG Gaiden'' and ''Second OG'', it had to undergo extensive retrofits and upgrades with current generation technology, and even then it lacks most of the capabilities of its successor units (see SimpleYetAwesome above). Most of its combat ability comes from the [[{{BFS}} Colossal Blade]] and [[{{Badass}} Rishu's skill with it]].

A former classmate of Tetsuya's, Lee functions as the semi-EvilCounterpart of Tetsuya in every way imaginable. His mannerisms in combat involve "following the book", to a point where it becomes painstakingly ridiculous. Lee also holds no care for his subordinates, seeing them mere pawns that are easily replaced. To that end, he holds a serious grudge against the participants of Operation SRW (which includes almost all the heroes; Tetsuya gets the brunt of his excuse). The reason? his wife Cynthia and his parents were killed during the Beijing attack by the Aerogators. His result: [[FreudianExcuse blame the heroes, NOT the invaders for his loss]].

Lee makes his debut in ''Original Generation 2'', where he's captain of the rebuilt ''Shirogane''. During the war with the Neo Divine Crusaders, Lee falls for a downright-obvious trap set by Shadow-Mirror forces, and the ''Shirogane'' is captured. Lee's approached by Vindel Mauser and offered a position among their ranks, which he readily accepts. As if he couldn't get any worse, Lee launches a surprise attack on the ''Hagane'' during the battle at the North American Langley Base. The combined ''Hagane'' and ''Hiryu Custom'' crews escape. When the Inspectors and Shadow-Mirror fall back to the White Star, Lee faces Tetsuya, now Deputy Captain of the ''Kurogane''. As a last-ditch effort, Lee attempts to ram the ''Kurogane'' with the ''Shirogane''...except he forgets the ''Kurogane'' mounts [[ThisIsADrill A GIANT DRILL]] [[WhatAnIdiot on its bow]]. The ''Shirogane'' is shredded to pieces.

Or so we thought: in ''Original Generations'', the story {{retcon}}s the event with the ''Shirogane'' retreating. As much as it's hard to believe that Lee can [[NoOneCouldSurviveThat survive a battleship-sized drill to the face]], he returns in the ''Second Original Generation'' working for the Gaia Sabers as captain of their flagship ''Air Christmas'', under the alias "Kali". His old persona is quickly discovered by the Steel Dragon Battle Group, however.

* {{Expy}}: Lee is practically a mirror of Tempest Hawker from the first game. Both men are associates to a party member, motivated by [[spoiler:a dead family member]] and are {{Jerkass}}es. Tempest defected to the Divine Crusaders, though Lee doesn't, despite being antagonistic and a playable character, until he joins the Shadow-Mirror.
* FaceHeelTurn: Although, in Lee's case, this may count as a subversion. While not presented as a traditional "[[{{Face}} good guy]]" at the start, by mid-game, he decides to embrace his true villainy.

* {{Hypocrite}}: Lee complains about being late to a rendevous with the ''Hagane'' because the ''Shirogane'' is damaged in one scenario. When the former does appear to offer aid, Lee criticizes Daitetsu for being careless. Somehow, his duties as a soldier apparently comes first.
* InformedAbility: There's is a reason why the fanbase called him "a graduate of the dumbass department". Granted
* {{Jerkass}} [[TheNeidermeyer Neidermeyer]]: Lee takes these tropes and cranks it UpToEleven and beyond. One has to wonder if he was solely created just so to be hated to death by players. If the answer's "yes", then Banpresto ''overdid'' it, which says a lot.
* IrrationalHatred: The crux of his character, really. Deep down, Lee's just a grief stricken man who's trying to find a way to come to terms with a very tragic loss in his life. But since he copes with his pain by being a complete and utter '''''asshole''''' to the player characters, it's kinda hard feel much pity for him. ''Especially'' since his sneak attack on the ''Hagane'' during the Langley Base assault [[spoiler: led to Captain Daitetsu's death.]]
* NoOneCouldSurviveThat: {{Retcon}}ned by ''Original Generations''; the ''Second Original Generation'' {{lampshades}} it.
* OutOfFocus: Lee gets less screentime in ''The Inspectors''; in fact, when he was supposed to do a FaceHeelTurn... he ''didn't'', as if he faded into obscurity...
* RammingAlwaysWorks: Averted; ramming doesn't work when your target has a massive drill at its bow, Mr. Linjun. And this man graduated ''summa cum laude'', by the way. [[spoiler:Unbelievably, him doing this in the ''Second Original Generation'' is what gives the heroes their victory. It helps the ''Air Christmas'' is ''designed'' [[http://youtu.be/EtttA0UgDvM?t=1m25s to ram into things]]]].

* SmugSnake: Banpresto probably want to give him a bit of a sympathy with his backstory, but he's just too much of a bastard for any of the fans to care. He still keeps the {{jerkass}}ery in the ''Second Original Generation'', to the point players find it hard to forgive him, [[spoiler:even after his last minute HeroicSacrifice and RedemptionEqualsDeath]].
* WellIntentionedExtremist: For all his faults (which is, to say, A LOT), Lee truly has a genuine concern of protecting the Earth. It's just too bad that [[HorribleJudgeOfCharacter he tends to pick the wrong factions to serve nearly all the time]] (Neo DC, Shadow-Mirror, Gaia Sabers), mainly because of his {{Pride}} and misplaced dislike towards the heroes (see FreudianExcuse). [[spoiler:He asserts in his last moments that the Steel Dragon Battle Group is the real force that could make the Earth invincible]].

The "Steel Dragon Battle Group" (''Kouryuu Sentai''; officially named in the ''Second Original Generation'') are the collective protagonists of ''Super Robot Wars Original Generation''. Although there are multiple characters from many different games appearing in this group, those listed here are the ones who debut exclusively in ''Original Generation'' continuity.

* BadassArmy: Is the "1st Independent Special Squad" of the Earth Federation Army comprised of the best squadrons of HumongousMecha on the planet

* ProperlyParanoid: In the ''Second Original Generation'', the crew of the ''Hagane'' becomes this while Ing Egret is staying with them. They had him thoroughly analyzed as to whether he was {{brainwashed}} or a spy, but nothing came of it. Justified as he was found in the middle of a wreckage in the Pacific Ocean.
* SeenItAll: Extraterrestrials, {{Alternate Universe}}s, ancient HumongousMecha, [[FaceHeelTurn double-crossings]], [[HeelFaceTurn former enemies-turned-allies]], {{Artificial Human}}s, {{Eldritch Abomination}}s, etc...The group has been through a lot, so it should come as no surprise that almost all of them show this trope from time to time, particularly members who have been around since the first game. Naturally {{Lampshaded}} by newcomers.

The [[HeterosexualLifePartners lifetime partner]] of [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAlpha Sanger Zonvolt]], Elzam von Branstein is the AloofBigBrother of [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAlpha Raidiese F. Branstein]]. He hails from the esteemed Branstein family, HappilyMarried and a SupremeChef. Elzam debuts in ''Original Generation'', but it's filled with a GoodBadBug: due to programming errors, priority for his {{Leitmotif}} was given the highest, thus it always overrides any song, even the FinalBoss. Banpresto took it as a RunningGag and incorporated this "bug" into subsequent games. Although Elzam's one of the headlining generals of the [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsClassic Divine Crusaders]], with the death of [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsClassic Bian Zoldark]], he secretly aids [[TheFederation the Earth Federation]] to fight against the invading [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAlpha Aero]][[HumanAliens gaters]]. Following the end of the L5 Campaign, he and his crew of the battleship ''Kurogane'' vanishes.

Elzam reappears in the sequel, now sporting a [[PaperThinDisguise pair of glasses, calling himself "Ratsel Feinschmecker"]] (erroneously translated by a villain as "Mysterious Gourmet"). Once again, he and the ''Kurogane'' crew operate and support the Earth Federation Army in secret. To prove that "[[MemeticMutation Real Men Ride Each Other]]", Ratsel's new MidSeasonUpgrade received when liberating the Tesla-Leicht Institute can ''[[TransformingMecha turn into a horse]]'' and have Sanger's own MidSeasonUpgrade mount it (no, '''[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGTlE8w5r_A REALLY]]''').

His debut was popular enough to warrant him a place in the ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsAlpha'' series, ''despite'' appearing first in ''Original Generation'', as his Ratsel persona (which is ''also'' the persona's debut), though he did exist in the background of ''Alpha'' and the earlier, yet obscure ''VideoGame/SuperRobotSpirits''. Still, his first on-screen appearance is in ''Original Generation'', thus he's placed in this category.

* AcePilot: A former member of the "Aggressors" (including him, Sanger, Kai Kitamura and [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsClassic Gilliam Yeager]]), a group that had the first use of a HumongousMecha in-universe. To date, Elzam is still one of the best pilots in the world.

* ArchEnemy: Archibald Grims, to Ratsel.
* ArtEvolution: Evident in the CoolShades he wears for his Ratsel persona - while they were oblong in the games, they become hexagonal in ''The Inspectors''.

* BashBrothers: It's a good idea to be part of the good guys' side just to avoid being on the opposite side to him and Sanger. You're not likely to survive that.
* BGMOverride[=/=] MusicalisInterruptus: [[Pantheon/{{Music}} His trademark]]; in fact, the ''Second Original Generation'' makes it clear you ''cannot change his default BGM to anything else''. However, the game downplays this as Ratsel is unable to override certain {{Leitmotif}}s such as "[[Characters/SuperRobotWarsDestiny Despair]]", "[[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAlpha Twin Icon]]" and "[[spoiler:Ultra One]]", as well as the orchestrated version of "Destinies" [[spoiler:and the vocal versions of "Victory", "Skill" and "Wings of the Legend"]].
** Amusingly, the first music track Ratsel was unable to override was because an enemy from the anime ''Anime/GoShogun'' was playing ''The Blue Danube'' with gigantic external speakers mounted on the ship. Think about that for a moment.
* BigDamnHeroes: His debut as Ratsel is basically doing this to the Project Terrestial Dream crew in ''Original Generation 2''; he also did this earlier in ''Alpha 2'' for whomever is the protagonist in Scenario 31.
* CanonImmigrant: From ''Original Generation'' to ''Alpha''. Interestingly, he exists (sort of) before ''Original Generation'', appearing in [[AllThereInTheManual supplemental materials]] to ''Super Hero Sakusen'' ("Super Hero Operations"). While not directly named, Raidiese recognizes the emblem on a passing-by black mecha as the Branstein family crest. The Aussenseiter ''also'' does not appear in Alpha 2 either, making it another example of transitioning from the OG games to Alpha games.
* CaptainErsatz: The ''Kurogane'' to the [[Film/{{Atragon}} Gotengo]]; naturally, the character himself was created to fill one of the obvious casting holes in the first game (see below).
* CharClone: Primarily more of the {{Trope Maker}}'s [[TheMentor mentor persona]], [[Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam Quattro Bajeena]]. He even gives a massive ShoutOut to Quattro by stating he's "Ratsel Feinschmeker: no more, no less". He also possesses similarities with [[VideoGame/DynastyWarriors Lu Bu]], with whom he shares his voice with.
** [[Creator/TetsuInada And speaking of same voice actors]], he shares his voice with another Quattro {{Expy}} [[Anime/TurnAGundam Harry Ord]]. In fact, one of Ratsel's Gespenst Kick quotes is Ord's {{Kiai}}.

* GunsAkimbo: Aussenseiter's dual "Lanze Kanone" {{BFG}}s

* HeterosexualLifePartners (bordering on HoYay): The fact he spends so much time with Sanger has caused this to be a RunningGag among fans. [[spoiler:Taken UpToEleven in the end credits of episode 15 in ''The Inspectors''. Also: '''[[LoinCloth Loin. Cloth.]]''']]
* ICallItVera: Any machine he uses are called "Trombe", ''including the [[CoolShip Kurogane]]'', which was the name of his favorite horse.

** StartingANewLife: It's actually seems like he's not trying to hide ''who'' he is, rather he's trying to project a new image for himself. As mentioned earlier, Elzam had a reputation for being aloof and hard to read, but as "Ratsel" he's much more approachable.
* RealMenWearPink, [[RealMenCook Cook World-Class Gourmet Feasts]], [[Memes/VideoGames And Ride Each Other]]
* RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver: Subverted; began as a villain, but [[NobleDemon he's squarely on original intentions of Bian's Divine Crusaders]]. Then he pulls a HeelFaceTurn and disappears soon afterwards, only to he reappear as Ratsel, gets the Aussenseiter, [[BunnyEarsLawyer but occasionally winds up playing exceptionally goofy that his brother considers it an embarrassment]].
* SupremeChef: As well as ChefOfIron. He's one of the few to be immune to the GargleBlaster made by [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAlpha Kusuha Mizuha]], going so far as to ''identify every ingredient'' in the dreaded drink.

** Banpresto seems to be getting a little tired of the glitch as well. "Free Battle Mode" in ''Original Generation Gaiden'' allows the player to force [=BGMs=] on battles, meaning the player has the power to (finally) override "Trombe".

Latooni Subota is one of the "Boosted Children" of the "The School", a Federation-funded academy that trained children to become mecha pilots. Unfortunately, as the technology was still in its infancy, many were physically and mentally conditioned to handle the stress of piloting. It was so harsh that by the time advances rendered the program obsolete, only three students survived: Latooni was ''not'' one of them. During a routine training regiment, she was lost in a crash and was deemed "killed-in-action" by The School. However, Latooni was found by two Federation fighter pilots, Giado Venerdi and Garnet Sandi, who took her to a hospital and, unable to find any identification other than the designation "Latooni 11", effectively raised her as their daughter and gave her a surname ([[TemporalThemeNaming "Subota" is Russian for "saturday", which falls between "venerdi" (friday) and "sandi" (sunday)]]). Despite being a child, she's allowed to become a fighter pilot, even placed in the same squad as Giado and Garnet. The rather shy and withdrawn girl responds only to them, but her skills as a pilot more than makes up for it.

When assigned to the ''Hagane'' battleship, Latooni meets the SRX Team, particularly Ryusei. Being around the AscendedFanboy notably opens up her personality and loosens her reservations, including a wardrobe change, courtesy of Garnet. Sporting [[Main/ElegantGothicLolita a really cute, frilly dress]], she's complemented by many of the crew, opening up CharacterDevelopment. After the [[CivilWar Divine Crusaders War]], [[Main/TheRemnant Divine Crusader Remnants]] attempt to seize the [[Main/TheKingdom Dukedom of Riskent]]. Assigned to protect the nation's headstrong ([[MySignificanceSenseIsTingling and clairvoyent]]) Princess Shine Hausen, Latooni is given bodyguard duty. Unfortunately, the princess is kidnapped by a Federation traitor, and taken to Adler Koch, a Main/MadScientist who just happens to be a former head instructor at The School. With the help of her allies, Latooni saves her new friend, and permanently rids the world of a big source of her early misery. Following the L5 Campaign, Latooni vows to find the rest of the Boosted Children.

In the sequel, Latooni is working alongside Raidiese and Kai as part of the reformed Aggressors. While testing the new Wild Falken, they are attacked by Divine Crusader Remnants and they [[GrandTheftPrototype steal the machine]]. To her horror, Latooni discovers [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAlpha Arado Balanga and Seolla Schweizer]], her former Schoolmates and close friends, are aligned with the Remnants, including their mutual CoolBigSis Ouka Nagisa. Worse, they are under the influence of Agilla Setme, another ex-School instructor [[MadScientist with a penchant]] [[MindManipulation for brainwashing]].

By ''Original Generation Gaiden'', she still continues to serve on the Aggressors, now accompanied by Arado, Seolla and ex-[[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAdvance Shadow-Mirror operative Lamia Loveless]].

During the onset of the Sealing War in the ''Second Original Generation'', Latooni finds out there are ''more'' Boosted Children survivors. However, Chienne, Chien and Chiot are not as willing to reform like Arado and Seolla and turn from their new Gaia Sabers employer. Although she pities their delusions of being the greatest there is, Latooni is forced to kill them. At the end of the game, Princess Shine offers her a small job of being an IdolSinger for ceremonial purposes in Riksent.

Latooni originally used a generic fighter jet, but is quickly switched out to a spare Gespenst aboard the ''Hagane'' as soon as it's available. In ''Original Generations'', she ends up in Ryusei's hand-me-down Wildraubtier[[note]]This is to reflect what wasn't mandated by plot in the original release of the first game, but what virtually everyone did by the endgame[[/note]]. When Riksent is attacked by the Neo Divine Crusaders in ''Original Generation 2'', Princess Shine unveils the Fairlions, a pair of ceremonial mecha she personally commissioned, giving Latooni the Fairlion-S(ilver) to use as her personal unit. By the ''Second Original Generation'', the old Wildraubtier is retooled into the new Wildraubtier "Schnabel", and she can usethe Schnabel and the Fairlion-S interchangeably. She and her machines follow these tropes:

* BeautifulAllAlong: To the point that her ''adoptive parents'' briefly have trouble recognizing her.
* BiTheWay: ''Possibly''; while she generally seems very committed to Ryusei and doesn't really have eyes for any other guys, there's a fair bit of ''suggestive'' content with Shine Hausen (see her entry). That said, the tone is very different from her flat-out, text-text affection for Ryusei and is mostly limited to subtext, thus it's hard to say definitely.
* BreakTheCutie: Until she escapes The School. And even then...

* Deuteragonist: in the second game, she or Arado can be considered this due to their story being the one of with most focus next to Kyousuke's.
* DistaffCounterpart: Loosely to [[Anime/SuperDimensionFortressMacross Maxmillian Jenius/Sterling]], in order to fill the playable roster in the first game[[note]]Both characters fly [[TransformingMecha transformable fighter planes]], wear glasses, have [[YouGottaHaveBlueHair exotica-colored hair]], very good stats and growths (particularly evasion), yet socially distant from their teammates before opening up[[/note]]. As CharacterizationMarchesOn, this trope becomes less evident.
** Though the ''Second Original Generation'' brings this back a bit, if only because the Wildrauptier Schnabel's strongest attack literally looks like it's lifted frame-for-frame from one of Maximillian's maneuvers in ''Anime/SuperDimensionFortressMacross'', straight down to flipping between fighter plane and humanoid mode to stay on her target.
** Somewhat less obvious are parallels to [[Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam Kamille Bidan]]: both characters despise conflict and desire some semblance of a life of peace, are mechanical designers in their spare time and close to women who are forced into a machine that drives them mad. The Wildraubtier itself is a [[Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam Zeta Gundam]] with the SerialNumbersFiledOff. The primary difference between them are their personalities - while Kamille is open about his distate for war, Latooni isn't quite "screaming mad" about it.

* FatalAttractor: Everyone near her always gets bad situations. [[spoiler:Her School friends die, Shine gets plugged into the GEIM System BrainwashedAndCrazy, Seolla put on lots of memory modifications and attacks Latooni and Arado, Rai goes NotSoStoic when facing Archibald and almost gets killed, Ouka pulls a HeroicSacrifice and Lamia nearly gets KilledOffForReal from the ODE System]]
* FragileSpeedster: The Fairlion is extremely fragile, as in "generic fighter jet"-fragile. However, this is offset by the machine armed with a "Missile Jammer"[[note]]Gain a 50% chance of evading missile-based attacks[[/note]], a "Beam Coat" barrier[[note]]Reduce beam-based attacks by 1200 points of damage[[/note]] and can activate "Mirror Image"[[note]]At 130 Will, the unit gains a 50% chance of evading any attack, which is calculated after it's already rolled to dodge.[[/note]]. Its "Full Upgrade Bonus" is a 20% increase to mobility, and in Latooni's hands (coupled with her having the "Genius" pilot skill), most enemies wouldn't be able to hit the machine.
* TheGlassesGottaGo: Played straight in the original game, then subverted when ''Original Generations'' {{retcon}}ned it into a move to being a {{Meganekko}}-type.
* GotMeDoingIt: Due to Ryusei's {{Otaku}}ness, putting her into other mecha will result in her CallingYourAttacks. As the plot has progressed, it's leaked into her attacks in her default mecha. She does it fairly often in the Schnabel. With a bit of HotBloodeness in the process.

* IconicSequelCharacter[=/=]SeriesMascot: She's far from the first original ever made, and originally just an "extra" character to fill in a gap left by the lack of licensed characters. Latooni's contribution to her debut game amounts to a single scene in one route the player isn't required to follow, with no unique unit or dedicated {{Leitmotif}}. Nearly a decade later, she has two {{Ace Custom}}s to her name, two {{Leitmotif}}s, one of the most famous attacks in franchise history, and arguably the poster child for the entire OriginalGeneration concept. Although not as franchise-defining as [[Characters/MasouKishin Masaki Andoh]], Ryusei, Kusuha or Sanger, she's just as instantly recognizable to [=SRW=] fans.

* TokenMiniMoe: She was 14 years-old during the first ''Original Generation'' and arguably this continuity's poster girl for this trope.

The last active alumnus of the elite Aggressors, Kai is the one who serves consistently with the Earth Federation Army, while his former teammates went about their ways and assist in another capacity. A married man with a daughter, he's commonly known as a "Demon Instructor" for his nasty, but effective methods of training. He's also good friends with [[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsMX Albero Est]]. Currently, he's training the new generation of Aggressors, starting with Latooni and Raidiese, but after ''Original Generation 2'', lets Rai go back to work with the SRX Team, while he drafts Lamia, Arado and Seolla.

** BreakoutCharacter: Although not the bigger breakout than say, Kyosuke, alongside being established as a MemeticBadass, Kai is rendered the epitome of a pilot who can make a {{mook}}-level HumongousMecha into a weapon of mass destruction.

** BadassNormal: While there are plenty of 'normal' humans in the roster, Kai stands out because he doesn't have any special luck or training or a FallingIntoTheCockpit backstory, and, more importantly, he doesn't need a SuperRobot to school your ass till Sunday, let alone a fancy one-of-a-kind SuperPrototype. Just give him a [[RedshirtArmy mass-produced]] MechaMook and some basic weapons, and he's good to go.
*** To elaborate, in ''Original Generation Gaiden'', he commandeers a mass-produced [[RealRobot Gespenst MK II]] and goes against a rampaging, AI-controlled Wendigo SuperRobot... using ''manual'' controls, without preset commands. [[http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/3370/ogchronicle1230.jpg Here's just a demonstration]] [[http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/498/1250016824414.jpg of what he can do]]. In the same game, he gets [[AceCustom his own customized version of the semi mass-produced Gespenst MK II Custom with two sets of Plasma Stakes, one for each arm]]. Most people tend to forget he's a [[IKnowKarate close-quarters combat expert]].

* CoolOldGuy: But not ''exactly'' old; he's still in his thirties. Just make sure he doesn't catch you ''saying'' he's old.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: It happens somewhat late in the first game, but Kai demolishing a number of Lions while cut off from everyone else and submerged in water (and thus lowering the performance of his Gespenst). Also a ShowDontTell moment, since it's carried out in gameplay proper.
* DrillSergeantNasty, SergeantRock: He made Masaki stand straight for an hour for misconduct. And then there's his training of Arado...
* EliteMook: This is essentially Kai's characterization, a powerful grunt with a PaletteSwap who's really, really good at kicking ass with the tools he's got, and has graduated to main character status as a result of his badassery.

* JackOfAllStats: Only in the first game. His late appearance in Ryusei's route didn't help the case.

* UnderestimatingBadassery: Donna thinks she can take Kai's students hostage, assault the military base, and have the Wendigo completely overwhelm Kai and an obsolete mecha. [[{{Understatement}} Bad idea...]]

A fighter pilot assigned to the ''Hiryu Custom'' battleship, Katina acquires Kyosuke's old Gespenst MK II (and painted it red) after he received his Alt Eisen. She has two sides to her personality: (excited) angry and REALLY angry. She tends to display an inferiority complex about her piloting skill whenever anyone else is chosen to pilot a unique mecha. Although she winds up using the [[TransformingMecha R-Gun]], she switches back to her good ol' Gespenst by ''Original Generation 2''. Unlike most characters, Katina is one of the more easily-suspicious people among the crews: if the others gladly welcome someone who pulled a HeelFaceTurn, she'll likely be the first to say "Hey, think twice! He/she was an enemy! What if...", only to be rebuked back and she usually accepts them again. She leads the "Octo Squad", originally consisting of herself and subordinate Russel, but drafts [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAlpha Tasuku Shinguji and Leona Garstein]] by ''Original Generation 2''.

While most players believe she's a completely original character for the games, Katina made her debut from an earlier [=SRW=] [[CardGames trading card game]] with different settings: she's a sniper and her default mecha's the monstrous [[http://srwog.velv.net/og_mecha/gabl.html GAB-L]], which is said to have claws filling up NightmareFuel a lot. This is understandable, seeing as [[Anime/MazingerZ Dr. Hell]] built it. As of the ''Second Original Generation'', Katina uses the [[http://www.famitsu.com/news/201105/images/00043749/GU146hyYp6778G4ajTv7s9yAcoU9z77X.jpg Gespenst MK II M Custom]]; like Kai and Russel's versions, it can change into different frames (by default, she uses the "Type-G").

* CharacterizationMarchesOn: You're likely to forget she was first designed as a sniper, or that she used to pilot something like the GAB-L. Currently, Katina's more known for her melee-based stats and crazed HotBlooded personality, who's usually stuck with common Gespenst units.

* ColdSniper: Subverted without being a FriendlySniper, either. Back in the first game, her stats favor ranged attacks, but she's crazy HotBlooded. The sequels rescinds her stats for melee.

* {{Leitmotif}}: "TA.CO.NA.GU.RI" translated in english as [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=euIdHMrNvHQ Octo H-I-T!]].
* LightningBruiser: She has one of the worst evasion stats in the game until she gets past a certain level. The trick is getting her ''to'' survive until that point. One way is to switch her into a SuperRobot, such as the Giganscudo. Since the Gigan is a monster of a tank, her low evasion stat becomes irrelevant. With the ''Second Original Generation'', her natural "Counter"[[note]]Pilot has a chance to perform a counterattack first when targeted by an enemy[[/note]] pilot skill plus a decent skill stat growth allows her to be on the front lines quite easily.

* {{Tsundere}}: Except there is [[AvertedTrope no "dere" here, folks]]!

* TheGenericGuy: Quite possibly the most "normal" person in all of ''Original Generation'', without being a FlatCharacter. Additionally, Russel is the only original character (sub-pilots excluded) who doesn't have a personal {{Leitmotif}}. Ironically, this makes him ''stand out'' to many fans.

* {{Leitmotif}}: Averted; Russel's the only playable character without a designated theme song. As such, he's instead associated with the generic battle themes "Born to Fight" and especially "Rail to the Dangerzone" as his personal theme, since he's the only unit you'll likely hear them playing for.

* OnlySaneMan: He looks like this at first, then you look at Russel's devotion to Katina and can't help but wonder just ''how'' sane he actually is.

* ShoutOut: Based on his appearance, one can argue Russel's meant to be an AffectionateParody of [[{{Mooks}} unnamed grunts]] in the HumongousMecha genre that [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TA-QJ2d3kk get one line and die horribly afterwards]], except Russel's averted death so far.

** It's surprising when you consider the usual fan reaction to relationships like this, but very few players actually ship Russel and Katina, perhaps because it's much more funny the way it is.
* WhatExactlyIsHisJob: Aside from being TheLancer to Katina full-time, he sometimes doubles as her personal assistant, sparring partner, [[http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/russel_drinkcarrier.jpg drink carrier]], {{The Smart Guy}} (with his knowledge of Stonehenge in ''Original Generation 2'' being an example), {{The Big Guy}} (visually, he at least appears the tallest out of the Octo Squad) and {{The Quiet One}}).

A staff member at Mao Industries, Radha Byraban is introduced in ''Original Generation'' via Kyosuke's route. Although she has a custom white Schutzwald, Radha mainly heads out to the battlefield when the need arises. She first appears helping Gilliam Jaeger protect a shuttle (and its cargo) from being seized by the Divine Crusaders. They succeed in keeping their enemies away, but Sanger (hiding his identity) disables the launch platform, forcing the ''Hiryu Custom'' to transport the cargo. After Mao Industries is attacked, Radha goes on the help the ''Hiryu Custom'' and its efforts to stop the United Colony Corps. It's during this time Radha introduces her personality quirk: she's a fan of yoga, albeit a ''big'' fan - so much she tries to teach it to everyone she meets. HilarityEnsues when this first happens: [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsCompact2 Excellen Browning]] and Katina loudly complain about their experiences, while Viletta is in so much pain she can't even speak. The reactions of the other pilots to Radha's offers of yoga lessons come close to rivaling the reactions to Kusuha and her [[GargleBlaster health drink]].

In ''Original Generation 2'', Radha's still working with Mao Industries. More details about her backstory are revealed: she was a test subject at the ICS (the same institute where the [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAlpha Kobayashi sisters]] were); however, Radha was let go of the tests by Cuervo Cero, a scientist she worked for and developed a friendly relationship with some time before the accident involving Mai that destroyed the ICS. When Radha meets Arado Balanga and learns Cero worked at The School, she's heartbroken he had stayed to work on the program. Radha commits herself to assisting Arado and Latooni in rescuing Seolla and Ouka from Agilla Setme's control and confront Cuervo. When she gets the chance to meet Cero during the Federation's assault on the Earth Cradle, he reveals he's always cared for the Boosted Children, but hated himself for putting them through the program. When the installation begins to collapse, Cero's injured and pinned down after an attack from [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAlpha Uruz Egret]]. Radha tries to save him, but Cero tells her to leave take care of Boosted Children in his stead.

By ''Original Generation Gaiden'', Radha retires from piloting to become a civilian contractor with the Aggressors, but will return to piloting duties if the situation warrants. Since the Schutzwald is rendered obsolete by the time of the ''Second Original Generation'', Radha currently uses a Gespenst MK II M custom with the Type-C as her default. She adheres to the following tropes:

** YouDoNOTWantToKnow: Don't bother asking Bullet, either; he was too freaked out to give details, and probably still has nightmares about it.

* MeaningfulName: Her {{Leitmotif}}, "Padma no Asana", translates to [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jHesidd2f4 "Asana of Destruction"]], ''quite'' the opposite of Radha's behavior…unless it's a joke towards her yoga poses…
* PsychicPowers: Subverted. Even though Radha was a test subject at the ICS, she never developed the same level of telekinetic abilities other Psychodrivers exhibit. However, she does have a heightened sense of awareness compared to non-psychics, but this doesn't qualify her as a Psychodriver.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS

Crown princess of the [[Main/TheKingdom Dukedom of Riskent]], a small independent state in the Mediterranean, Shine was born with [[Main/MySignificanceSenseIsTingling the ability to see the future]] and for this reason (plus her kindgom's large gold mines), Riskent's attacked by Divine Crusaders Remnants after the defeat of their leaders at Aidoneus Island. She's rescued by the SRX Team (or ATX Team, if you're playing Kyosuke's route), and brought to Izu Base in Japan, with Latooni and Raidiese serving as her bodyguards. Her safety is compromised when she gets kidnapped by a mole in Federation Command and taken to Adler Koch, who places her in a Valsion Custom equipped with the "GEIM System", brainwashing her into a soldier to help him take down Federation Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. Fortunately, she's rescued before the system can cause permanent damage to her mind.

Riskent's invaded by the Neo Divine Crusaders ''again'' in ''Original Generation 2'', and Shine barely escapes capture. This time, however, she's ready to fight back; to that extent, she personally commissioned the Fairlions with the help of the Tesla-Leicht Institute. With Latooni helming the Fairlion-S, Shine uses the Fairlion-G(old) and joins the ''Hagane'' battleship to re-take her nation. Although Riksent is safe again, Shine takes the initiative to journey with the crew to combat and defeat the Shadow-Mirror, [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsCompact2 Einst]], and [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsClassic Inspectors]], to ensure that they don't become a threat to not only Riksent, but the world.

* BodyguardCrush, HeroWorshipper: Of Raidiese; this fades beginning with ''Original Generation Gaiden'', in favor of a focus on her relationship with Latooni and interacting with other pilots.

* CombinationAttack, DancingTheme: Royal Heart Breaker
* CompositeCharacter, CaptainErsatz: Mainly a spunkier take on the various regal/high-society female characters throughout the ''Franchise/{{Gundam}}'' franchise; her experience with the Valsion Custom, however, seems to be lifted from [[Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam Four Murasame]].
** The latter bit works further, given that, while character-wise she's more of a [[Anime/SuperDimensionFortressMacross Maximillian Jenius-type]], Latooni's Wildraubtier is basically the Zeta Gundam.

* ErmineCapeEffect: Evident in ''Original Generation 2'' for the GameBoyAdvance during her SuperMovePortraitAttack; ''Original Generations'' {{Re Tool}}s this by giving her an actual pilot suit, but still customized for her.

* MistakenForBadass: Briefly by [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsCompact3 Folka Albark]]. Since he's still [[FishOutOfWater learning about Earth customs with the Shura culture in the back of his mind]], the term "princess", in Shura-speak, means Shine should be physically strong enough to ''pound him flat''. Naturally, everyone's surprised by Folka's comment.

* ShipTease: ''Original Generations'' version of the Royal Heart Breaker, though some official art with her and Latooni feels [[LesYay somewhat less ambiguous]]…
** The ''Second Original Generation'' takes the innuendo further, with a teased AlmostKiss that ends with both girls looking distinctly breathless and ''surrounded by [[FlowerMotifs roses]] and LoveBubbles''. As one commentator on Youtube put it:

** And, again, none of this is assisted by the fact that the most obvious licensed-property relationship parallel for Lat and Shine is [[Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam Kamille and Four]].
* ShoutOut: Aside from the ''Wink'' reference, there is a chance for Shine referring to the Fairlion's "Sonic Driver" as "[[Manga/GetterRobo Shine Spark]]". To further the joke, Shine paraphrases the ''actual'' Shine Spark dialogue spoken by [[Manga/GetterRobo Ryoma Nagare]].
* TookALevelInBadass: In her debut, she had no fighting experience, thus becoming a DistressedDamsel and quite possibly a DamselScrappy, depending on the viewer. Cue ''Original Generation 2'' - she gets a custom machine that takes advantage of her clairvoyance via the W-INK System and starts taking to the front lines. Part of this, though, stems from the fact the W-INK System allowing the pilot of one unit (Latooni) to remotely control the other unit.
** Though by the later parts of the story, Shine's quite capable of piloting by herself. In ''The Inspectors'', she fights against Ouka in the Rapiecage with the GEIM System activated and survives long enough to reach its operational limit. In the ''Second Original Generation'', she's thrown into La Gias without Latooni, and fights there just fine.

Unfortunately, Kouta doesn't expect Shouko to wind up becoming a victim of [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsReversal Duminuss]] and its brainwashing, wearing the "Emi Armor" and piloting the G-Thundergate, the companion craft to the Compatible Kaiser. Out for Roar's blood, it takes large amounts of IKnowYouAreInThereSomewhereFight to break control over Shouko, thereby rendering her as the {{Henshin Hero}}ine "Fighter Emi" and face Roar's nemesis Dark Brain.

Kouta winds up reappearing in continuity via the ''[[EndlessFrontier Endless Frontier EXCEED]]'' SpinOff sequel. In the drama CD that occurs prior to the game, he's transported to the Endless Frontier, with Kouta meeting [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsAdvance Axel Almer]] later, surprised at [[AmnesiacDissonance his shift in personality]] and the appearance of [[Characters/EndlessFrontier Aschen Brodel]], mistaking her as Lamia. Regardless, they manage to return to their world once the misadventure ends, but for the sake of not confusing everyone, Kouta decides to keep the majority of this detour to himself (and Axel).

* DudeMagnet: Has attracted the attention of both Folka and Michiru. There will be one ''hell of a {{Badass}} LoveTriangle'' when both people meet up.

* HiddenBuxom: That school uniform hid the fact that Shouko is actually rather buxom, as revealed in the bonus contents for ''The Moon Dwellers'' Limited Edition: [[BeachEpisode Beach Dwellers]].

After some unspecified time in ''The Great Battle'' series, Roar leaves the Battle Force universe with the Compatible Kaiser to pursue his nemesis Dark Brain. Unfortunately, the resulting dimensional jump severely damaged his machine, as well as tearing Roar's body apart. The Kaiser arrived on Earth where it was found by Kouta's grandfather Professor Kisaburo Azuma, who took the Kaiser and repaired it using the same technology behind the Dynamic General Guardian series. How Roar manifested himself inside Kouta is unknown, but when the Shura began attacking Earth, Roar allows Kouta to use his armor to transform into his previous body and acquire his powers.

A student of "[[NamcoBandai [=BanNam=]]] Academy", Michiru was loosely mentioned in the ''Endless Frontier EXCEED'' drama CD, but made his on-screen debut in the ''Second Original Generation''. When Kouta was in the Endless Frontier, Michiru went to Asakusa City to challenge Kouta, on his quest to conquer all high schools in Japan. Despite Kouta not being around, Michiru prepares to wait for him, to the extent of standing outside his home until he returns. Shouko wouldn't stand for this and allows him to stay in the Azuma residence while he waits. This was long enough that Michiru develops a huge crush on her.

* BilingualBonus: The kanji that appear [[spoiler:during the G Bankaran's "Type 8710 Dragon-Tiger Combo"]] is a very colloquial phrase that most people, even some Japanese, might not understand. When literally translated, it says "I don't need your opinion!", but culturally speaking, it's the Japanese equivalent to the phrase "Fuck the police". How fitting, considering Michiru's character.

During a test run for the Pfeil III, a modified version of the mass-produced Huckebein MK II, Yong gets pulled into La Gias via the mass summoning event and aligns with Shu and his party in order to find a way back to the surface world.

She has a slight obsession with data, which is represented by how she acquires and utilizes it constantly during combat (her debut scenario is called "Auditor Girl", referencing this).

The "Steel Dragon Battle Group" (''Kouryu Sentai''; officially named in the ''Second Original Generation'') are the collective protagonists of ''Super Robot Wars Original Generation''. Although there are multiple characters from many different games appearing in this group, those listed here are the ones who debut exclusively in ''Original Generation'' continuity.

The main chassis is what's left from the incident in the past that deemed the Flickerei [[FlawedPrototype a failed unit]].

In ''Original Generation 2'', the ''Hiryuu Custom'' is recalled back to Earth initially to investigate the disappearances of random Earth Federation Army squads in the L2 sector. After an attack on Mao Industries by a mysterious alien robot, the ship's assigned to protect the White Star from an alien attack. Lefina orders a full retreat from the White Star after the fleet stationed there is wiped out by the Inspectors. She also assists in the evacuation efforts from Mao Industries and the Tesla-Liecht Institute from the Inspectors, and eventually rejoins the ''Hagane'' in fighting them off. After these events, the ''Hiryu Custom'' is assigned to the Moon's defensive forces. By ''Original Generation Gaiden'', the ''Hiryu Custom'' is once again called back to action against the rampaging Bartolls and the Shura invasion.

* CaptainErsatz: Compare Lefina to [[Anime/MartianSuccessorNadesico Yurika Misumaru]], especially in regards to age and combat experience. What's more, both characters' battleships feature a gravity-based WaveMotionGun. The difference between them, aside from appearance, is Lefina is a bit more shy (but will pull through without being a ShrinkingViolet) than the more ditzy, outgoing Yurika.

One way is to switch her into a SuperRobot, such as the Giganscudo. Since the Gigan is a monster of a tank, her low evasion stat becomes irrelevant. With the ''Second Original Generation'', her natural "Counter"[[note]]Pilot has a chance to perform a counterattack first when targeted by an enemy[[/note]] pilot skill plus a decent skill stat growth allows her to be on the front lines quite easily.

** Somewhat less obvious are parallels to [[Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam Kamille Bidan]]: both characters despise conflict and desire some semblance of a life of peace, are mechanical designers in their spare time and close to women who are forced into a machine that drives them mad. The Wildraubtier itself is a [[MobileSuitZetaGundam Zeta Gundam]] with the SerialNumbersFiledOff. The primary difference between them are their personalities - while Kamille is open about his distate for war, Latooni isn't quite "screaming mad" about it.

* CompositeCharacter, CaptainErsatz: Mainly a spunkier take on the various regal/high-society female characters throughout the ''{{Gundam}}'' franchise; her experience with the Valsion Custom, however, seems to be lifted from [[MobileSuitZetaGundam Four Murasame]].

Female protagonist of ''Real Robot Regiment'', Ariel Org is "Subject Zero", the first of the ArtificialHuman-based "Idealants Project". In her game of origin, she is tasked by her dying creator Dr. Ozunu to pilot the Flickerei Geist and stop her "brother" Duvan Org, the second android created by the project, after he destroys Ozunu's lab. Ariel allies with the [[MobileSuitGundamWing Preventers]] to pursue Duvan, but also learns to express herself, as she believes she lacks the emotional capabilities of a human. When Ariel defeats Duvan and his transformed Alles Geist, the machines disappear in a brilliant flash of light. While everyone comments that Ariel is likely dead, she manages to escape to the Guyana Highlands and lives the rest of her remaining life in memory of her brother.

* CaptainErsatz: Adler's design of the Valsion Custom, being far larger than the typical MechaMook, and using the GEIM System as an interface that warps the pilot's mind, is an obvious stand-in for the [[MobileSuitZetaGundam Psycho Gundam]].

Antagonist of ''Real Robot Regiment'', Duvan is "Subject Double Zero" of the ArtificialHuman-based "Idealants Project" created by Dr. Ozunu. Duvan destroys Ozunu's lab and mortally wounds his creator after learning of the limited mortality given to the Idealants. To that end, he steals the Alles Geist and plans to harness the power of the [[MobileFighterGGundam Ultimate Gundam]] to break his "flaw" and intends to conquer mankind and rule them as their leader, [[{{Ubermensch}} believing it is his destiny as an idealized superior being to humans]]. Unlike his "sister" Ariel, who had experiences to expand her emotional aspects with the Preventers, Duvan never understood there are other means to live. He stubbornly continues to fight against Ariel and her allies, ultimately winding down to a final battle against her.

This is understandable, seeing as [[MazingerZ Dr. Hell]] built it. As of the ''Second Original Generation'', Katina uses the [[http://www.famitsu.com/news/201105/images/00043749/GU146hyYp6778G4ajTv7s9yAcoU9z77X.jpg Gespenst MK II M Custom]]; like Kai and Russel's versions, it can change into different frames (by default, she uses the "Type-G").

* CaptainErsatz: Undoubtedly of [[MazingerZ Boss]], but unlike him, Michiru is much more competent in his behavior and attitude. [[spoiler:In regards to the G Bankaran, like the Boss Borot, it's a resupply unit, but unlike Boss' machine, which teeters between JokeCharacter and LethalJokeCharacter in its appearances, Michiru's mecha is neither and a straight-up MightyGlacier]].

* CaptainErsatz: Compare Lefina to [[MartianSuccessorNadesico Yurika Misumaru]], especially in regards to age and combat experience. What's more, both characters' battleships feature a gravity-based WaveMotionGun. The difference between them, aside from appearance, is Lefina is a bit more shy (but will pull through without being a ShrinkingViolet) than the more ditzy, outgoing Yurika.
