!!Red Squadron

A X-Wing squadron stationed at Yavin 4 during the attack on the Death Star. Only two pilots, Luke Skywalker and Wedge Antilles, survive the battle. They remain in the squadron after it is reformed under the leadership of Commander Narra, but command eventually falls to Luke by the time of the Battle of Hoth. Following the evacuation of Echo Base, Wedge takes over command of Red Squadron from Luke and leads it at the Battle of Endor.

-->''"Copy, Gold Leader. I'm already on my way out."''

A Rebel pilot from Corellia who fights in the Battles of Yavin, Hoth, and Endor, becoming one of the Rebellion's most celebrated heroes. Notably the only man to face off against both Death Stars and live to tell about it. Following the Battle of Endor, Wedge is briefly captured and tortured by the Empire before being rescued. After recovering from his injuries he founds Phantom Squadron and assists in the Liberation of Kashyyyk.
----
* AcePilot: Survives both Death Star runs while shooting down several Imperial starfighters.
* {{Badass}}: He's the only character in the saga to not only face off against both Death Stars, but live to tell about it. He is no slouch out of the cockpit either, being able to avoid detection aboard an Imperial Star Destroyer for hours while killing several Stormtroopers and other crewmembers and then surviving days of torture with enough strength left to escape and send out a message before being recaptured.
* BadassInDistress: He is captured by Imperial forces in ''[[Literature/StarWarsAftermath Aftermath]]''.
* BadassNormal: He has no connection to the Force, but is easily one of the best pilots seen in the films. He even saves Luke during the first Death Star battle, and easily navigated the maze of death that was the inside of the second Death Star. His piloting prowess has become so legendary that, in certain lexicons, the "Badass Normal" trope is named "Wedge-type Character" instead.
* BadLiar: In ''Aftermath'', Wedge states that he is one, that he is just a pilot and not somebody who can convince a Jawa to buy a bag of sand like Han Solo.
* CallSign: He has several throughout the series:
** As a Imperial cadet, he was TIE [=SS25=].
** During the Battle of Yavin, he was Red Two.
** During the Battle of Hoth, he was Rogue Three.
** During the Battle of Endor, he was Red Leader/One.
** After founding Phantom Squadron he is Phantom Leader.
* CareerEndingInjury: Nearly got one post-defection, in a mission he was encouraged to do by Fulcrum II. It ended with him crashing into the peak of a volcano and getting a leg broken in ''three'' places. NiceJobBreakingItHero for Fulcrum [[{{Pun}} indeed]].
* CasualDangerDialogue: Speaks with the most glacially calm voice of all the Rebel pilots during the Battle of Endor.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Prior to joining the Skystrike Academy, he used to work in a fuel depot and local farms. When he enrolled, a series of events that included hurting his family, friends, and a girl he loved made him sympathetic to the Rebellion, which attracted the attention of Fulcrum II, who in turn got him and a classmate help from Sabine to defect.
* DefectorFromDecadence: He used to be a pilot from the Skystrike Academy, a TIE Flight Academy, and with the help of Fulcrum II and Sabine, he and another rebel sympathizer pilot defect to Phoenix Squadron.
* ExactWords: Wedge is not only the sole person to survive both Death Stars, he's the only person to ''fight'' both Death Stars. Luke, Han, Chewie and the pilot of that one Y-Wing, the only others who could even have qualified, weren't flying because they had more important things to do (and/or haven't managed to exist in canon yet).
* TheLeader: Of Red Squadron following the Battle of Hoth, and then Phantom Squadron following the Battle of Akivia.
* LivingLegend: Even prior to the Battle of Endor, Wedge is regarded by the other Alliance pilots as this due to surviving the first Death Star.
* MauveShirt: He would be just another pilot in the crowd, except that he's the only member of Red Squadron other than Luke to survive the attack on Death Star 1, and helps the Millenium Falcon blow up the Death Star 2's reactor, making him the only person in the movies to fight both Death Stars.
* MythologyGag: Him being a DefectorFromDecadence as his backstory may be a reference to how in ''Legends'', he would infiltrate Imperial Flight Academies, gather and/or persuade cadets to rebel, then have them grab the first ship out of there once they graduate. That way, the Rebel Alliance won't have to use up resources to train new pilots. Instead, they have sympathizers get trained by the Empire.
* NiceGuy: He is a friendly guy who wholeheartedly believes in the Rebellion's ideals.
* OddFriendship: According to ''Aftermath'', Fulcrum II ended up becoming his friend, though as Wedge looks back on it a couple years after his defection from the Skystrike Academy, it seems that he never found out who Fulcrum II really was.
* OohMeAccentsSlipping: In the first movie, Lucas dubbed another actor's voice over his lines. In ''Empire'', Lawson affected an American accent before switching to his native Scottish in ''Jedi''.
* OneSteveLimit: No relation to [[Characters/StarWarsRebelAlliance Captain Raymus Antilles]].
* SuddenSequelDeathSyndrome: Early drafts for Episode VII would have had Wedge suffer from this.
* TakingTheBullet: His role in the trench run is to fly behind Luke's X-Wing and soak up the fire from the pursuing [=TIEs=] long enough for Luke to fire his torpedoes. However, when his maneuvering capabilities are reduced after taking damage, Luke orders Wedge to pull out of the trench since he can no longer protect him.
* {{Wingman}}: Acts as Luke's alongside Biggs during the run on first Death Star. He has to pull out of the trench run due to his fighter taking too much damage.

->'''Portrayed by:''' Drewe Henley
->'''Appears in:''' ''Film/ANewHope''

-->''"I'm gonna cut across the axis and try and draw their fire."''

A experienced pilot from the planet Virujansi. Dreis served as the leader of Red Squadron during the Battle of Yavin, where he was shot down by Darth Vader. He was friends with Gold Squadron pilot Davish Krail.
----
* AcePilot: Aside from Luke, he was the only pilot good enough to survive the trench run long enough to fire a proton torpedo at the Death Star's exhaust port. Unfortunately, he missed.
* CharacterDeath: After making his trench run, he is shot down by Darth Vader, and crashes into the Death Star while screaming.
* DangerDeadpan: He remains mostly calm throughout the attack on the Death Star, although he gets slightly excited when he fires his torpedoes and later goes screaming to his death.
* HopeSpot: For a moment it appears as though he may have destroyed the Death Star, but ultimately his torpedoes miss, causing the battle to continue with more Rebel casualties, including Garven.
* IWillOnlySlowYouDown: After he pulls out of the trench, Darth Vader is right behind him. Luke offers to bring his flight group to cover him, but Garven refuses their aid, pointing out his fighter was already damaged and ordered them to begin their trench run instead of trying to save him.
* IronicDeath: In the full version of the scene in the hanger, Garven says he knew Luke's father. He is later shot down by Darth Vader, the man Luke's father became.
* TheLeader: Of Red Squadron.
* NoNameGiven: He isn't named during the film, but his previously established Legends name is given in the canon reference book ''Star Wars in 100 Scenes''.

->'''Portrayed by:''' Garrick Hagon
->'''Appears in:''' ''Film/ANewHope''

-->''"It'll be like old times, Luke. They'll never stop us."''

Luke Skywalker's friend from Tatooine, who leaves to join the Rebel Alliance. He and Luke fly together against the Death Star in the Battle of Yavin, but while Luke emerges from the battle a hero, Biggs does not survive.
----
* AllThereInTheManual: Much of his history with Luke comes from {{Deleted Scene}}s from ''A New Hope'', though at least one of those scenes makes its way into the Special Edition.
%%* BadassMustache
* ChildhoodFriends: He and Luke have been friends since they were children.
* DeadlyDeferredConversation: He and Luke run into each other right before Red Squadron launches to attack the Death Star, and Biggs says "we'll hear all your stories when we get back, all right?" Biggs then dies to Vader during his, Luke's, and Wedge's trench run.
* DefectorFromDecadence: Immediately after graduating from the Imperial Academy, he jumps ship to join the Rebellion.
* ForgottenFallenFriend: Never mentioned in the films after his untimely demise in ''A New Hope''. Luke quietly mourns the death of his friend in ''Heir To The Jedi''.
* FriendlyTarget: Gets shot down by Darth Vader while acting as Luke's wingman during the Battle of Yavin.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: Has all sorts of his own adventures while Luke is stuck on boring old Tatooine, much to Luke's annoyance.
* MauveShirt: Has a developed history with the main character before he bites it.
* TakingTheBullet: His role in the trench run is to fly behind Luke's X-Wing and soak up the fire from the pursuing [=TIEs=] long enough for Luke to fire his torpedoes.
* {{Wingman}}: With Wedge for Luke during the attack on the first Death Star. He gets shot down providing shielding for Luke.

-->''"I'm right with you, Red Three."''

A pilot in Red Squadron from the ocean world of Bestine IV, Porkins was killed strafing the Death Star's turrets during the Battle of Yavin.
----
* AllThereInTheManual: His homeworld is established in the canon sourcebook ''Ultimate Star Wars''.
* CharacterDeath: He is shot down during the attack on the Death Star when his X-wing malfunctions.
* EjectEjectEject: When his X-wing begins to malfunction, Biggs tells him to eject instead of trying to regain control of it. Porkins refuses, and is subsequently shot down.
* KilledMidSentence: His X-wing is destroyed in the middle of his reassurances that he had control over it.
-->'''Porkins:''' I can hold it.\\
'''Biggs:''' Pull up!\\
'''Porkins:''' No, I'm all—Aargh!
* MeaningfulName: So the overweight guy being named Porkins is a total coincidence, right?

Hailing from Ord Mantrell, Nett served as a pilot in Red Squadron during the Battle of Yavin. He was trained by Red Leader Garven Dreis.
----
* AllThereInTheManual: He was not named or even credited in ''A New Hope'', but the reference book ''Star Wars in 100 Scenes'' established his ''Legends'' name as canon.
* RedShirt: Like most of Red Squadron. He gets shot down by TIE fighters during the trench run.
* TakingTheBullet: His role in the trench run is to fly behind Dreis' X-Wing and soak up the fire from the pursuing [=TIEs=] long enough for Dreis to fire his torpedoes.

-->''"Red Leader, this is Gold Leader. We're starting our attack run."''

A native of the planet Onderon, Vander flew as the leader of the Y-Wing Gold Squadron during the Battle of Yavin.
----
* AllThereInTheManual: His background is given in the reference book ''Ultimate Star Wars''.
* DefectorFromDecadence: He was originally a Imperial pilot, but after being ordered to bomb pro-Rebel regions of his homeworld he refused and defected.
* TheLeader: Of Gold Squadron.
* OhCrap: Has two moments of this: the first when told their target is two meters in length, and the second when Darth Vader and his wingmates arrive and shoot down Tiree. He actually begins panicking about the lack of room to maneuver and order Pops to loosen up their formation, even though Pops is attempting to cover him from Vader's attack.
* NoNameGiven: He isn't named during the film, but his previously established Legends name is given in the canon reference book ''Star Wars in 100 Scenes''.
* ThisIsGonnaSuck: He clearly realizes during the briefing to attack the Death Star that many of the pilots will not be coming back.

A human male pilot from Onderon. He flew in Gold Squadron during the Battle of Yavin.
----
* AllThereInTheManual: His first name and homeworld were first established in the reference guide ''Ultimate Star Wars''.
* RedShirt: He is one of several pilots during the attack on the Death Star whose sole role was only to die.
* TakingTheBullet: His role in the trench run is to fly behind Vander's Y-Wing and soak up the fire from the pursuing [=TIEs=] long enough for Vander to fire his torpedoes.

->'''Portrayed by:''' Graham Ashley
->'''Appears in:''' ''Film/ANewHope''

-->''"Stay on target!"''

A veteran pilot from Dantooine, Pops was a member of the Y-Wing Gold Squadron during the Battle of Yavin. He was killed during the attack on the Death Star. He was a friend of Red Leader Garven Dreis.
----
* DangerDeadpan: He remains extremely calm throughout the trench run, even when Tiree is shot down, and does his best to calm Vander down when he begins panicking. This does him no good, as Vander is shot down as well. Pops then uses his last few moments alive to provide warnings to Red Squadron about what they will be facing in the trench run.
* KilledMidSentence: Before being shot down by Vader, he gives a warning to Red Squadron about the Imperial's tactics in the trench:
-->'''Pops:''' They came...from behind--
* NervesOfSteel: Even as his wingmen are losing their nerve around him, he stays on target. Even in his dying moments, he's giving status reports and giving a warning to the supporting X-wings who now have to take up the torpedo run task.
* NoNameGiven: He isn't named during the film, but his previously established Legends name is given in the canon reference book ''Ultimate Star Wars''.
* OldSoldier: He is an older pilot, and that experience shines through with him remaining much more calm and collected than his squadron leader.
* TakingTheBullet: His role in the trench run is to fly behind Vander's X-Wing and soak up the fire from the pursuing [=TIEs=] long enough for Vander to fire his torpedoes. Unfortunately this plan does not work since Vander panics and gets out of position, allowing Vader to shoot around Krail.
* {{Wingman}}: Flew as Vander's wingman alongside Tiree. He actually survives longer than Vander because his commander started panicking and went out of position.
* YouAreInCommandNow: {{Averted}}: after Vander is shot down, Pops is referred to as Gold Leader, but he is shot down moments later.

A female human hailing from Akiva, Norra served the Rebellion as a pilot, flying a Y-Wing during the Battle of Endor. Several months later she leaves the Alliance to return to her homeworld and reunite with her son Temmin, but discovers an Imperial plot and is thrust back into the war.
----
* AcePilot: She initially flew freighters for the Alliance, but her skills as a pilot were so good that Wedge Antilles personally came to her and convinced her to fly a fighter during the Battle of Endor. She more than proved worthy of his faith, navigating the treacherous interior of the Death Star successfully.
* ActionGirl: Even outside of a cockpit, Norra is a pretty capable warrior and skilled with a blaster.
* ShellShockedVeteran: The Battle of Endor and her narrow escape from the exploding Death Star shook her up pretty badly, eventually leading her to leave the New Republic military to rejoin her son.
* ParentalAbandonment: She joined the Rebellion after her husband was arrested by Imperials, leaving her son in the care of her sister and her sister's wife. All three of them call her out on it when Norra returns to Akiva.
* TenMinuteRetirement: Leaves the New Republic so that she can reunite with her son and go somewhere to avoid the rest of the war. * ExplosiveInstrumentation: His console explodes when a power malfunction causes it to overload, which killed him instantly.
* GuyInBack: He served as Luke's gunner in their snowspeeder.
* HeroWorshipper: He was very excited to be assigned to Luke's snowspeeder, who he is a big fan of since Luke destroyed the Death Star and is training to be a Jedi.
* NewMeat: Of the "overenthusiastic but ultimately doomed new recruit" variety. Putting him alongside Luke is an effective way of showing how much Luke himself has grown in between films.

-->''"The whole point of a B-wing squadron attack is that the combined ships act as a force multiplier. If we integrate our attack vectors, we have a far better chance of finishing the mission successfully - and ''alive''. Understood?"''

The human commander of Blade Squadron. He lost his wife during the evacuation of Hoth when her transport was destroyed by the ''Devastator'', which he is eager to avenge during the Battle of Endor.
----
* AcePilot: Moonsong notes that he doesn't look much like a warrior, being overweight and redfaced, but that he makes up for it with his fast reflexes and skill in a fighter. He defeats Imperial AcePilot Commander Gradd, who is noted to be one of the best Imperial pilots in the fleet, in a one-on-one fighter duel, but his fighter is left heavily damaged afterwards.
* BloodFromTheMouth: Tastes blood in his mouth after his dogfight with Commander Gradd has left his A-wing (and him) in rough shape.
* CommandingCoolness: He is regarded as a first-rate commander by his pilots.
* CrusadingWidower: He is extremely pleased when he realizes that the ship his squadron is assigned to destroy is the ''Devastator'', the same ship responsible for destroying the transport his wife was on at the Battle of Hoth.
* DisappointedInYou: He sees a lot of potential in Moonsong, but is disappointed in her inability to follow proper squadron protocol in training exercises. That disappointment hurts her a lot more than any chewing out he or Stramm could give her.
* EmptyShell: He considers himself one after the loss of his wife at Hoth, noting he hasn't felt much of any emotion since then.
* IWillOnlySlowYouDown: After the ''Devastator'' is destroyed, he orders the remaining fighters in Blade Squadron to leave him behind and rejoin the rest of the Rebel fighters. The story ends with him still alive, but with little hope for rescue before his injuries kill him or his fighter falls apart
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Knows exactly how to handle the pilots under his command, cutting Moonsong slack about MildlyMilitary status because she is a good pilot and does not discipline her for mouthing off to Stramm after an exercise because she was correct when she told him that Fox's numbers were off for their attack run. However, he does chew her out for lack of communication with the rest of the squadron, which Moonsong acknowledges as a problem.
* SecretSecretKeeper: He knows about Stramm and Moonsong's relationship, but doesn't do anything about it despite it being against regulations.

A former Imperial officer who defected a year prior to the Battle of Endor. He is second-in-command of Blade Squadron. After the Battle of Endor, Stramm became the leader of Blade Squadron and was tasked with rebuilding it.
----
* AcePilot: During the Battle of Endor, he is the only B-wing pilot in Blade Squadron who engages the TIE interceptors in a [[OldSchoolDogfight dogfight]] and doesn't get killed. He shoots down several of the [=TIEs=], saving Moonsong and allowing them to complete their bombing run on the ''Devastator''.
* BelligerentSexualTension: With Moonsong, although they are together by the time the story starts and are simply keeping up the act in public.
* CallSign: Originally goes by Blade Two during the Battle of Endor, but becomes Blade Leader after being promoted.
* DefectorFromDecadence: He deserted from his post on Naboo and joined the Rebellion after having enough of the oppressive orders handed down by his Imperial superiors.
* FishOutOfWater: As a Imperial pilot, he was used to a more disciplined and orderly command structure. The MildlyMilitary nature of the Alliance frustrates him and results in Stramm sometimes being too hard on his pilots to compensate for this.
* KnightInSourArmor: He does not really think the Alliance has a chance to defeat the Empire, but wants to fight it anyway to strike back at the evil he had served for far too long.
* NumberTwo: He is second-in-command of Blade Squadron and takes over command after Fox's A-wing is badly damaged and they think he is dead.
* RankUp: He was promoted to commander and made the leader of Blade Squadron following the Battle of Endor.
* SecretRelationship: With Moonsong, although Fox is secretly aware of it. He ends their relationship after being promoted to squadron leader, believing that it would be too inappropriate to continue.
* UptightLovesWild: He is known for being a by-the-book officer who still abides by the discipline he got in the Imperial military, but gets into a relationship with Moonsong, who most definitely does not like playing by the rulebook.

A human ex-smuggler who operated out of Coruscant, Moonsong recently joined the Rebel Alliance. She was in a relationship with Stramm until after the Battle of Endor.
----
* AcePilot: Fox notes that she is one of the best pilots he has ever seen, and may even be nearly as skilled as Wedge Antilles. However, she has trouble working with the rest of the squadron as a team, although this issue evaporates when they go into combat at Endor.
* BelligerentSexualTension: With Stramm, although they are together by the time the story starts and are simply keeping up the act in public.
* FieryRedhead: She has short red hair, and is very passionate and outspoken.
* MildlyMilitary: Being an ex-smuggler, Moonsong is used to playing a little loose with the rules, even for a Rebel. Fox tells her that if they weren't already short on pilots, he would yank her flight permission due to her attitude in the training exercises and tendency to act on her own plans without telling the rest of the squadron what she is doing.
* NewMeat: She may be a natural pilot and have plenty of experience as a smuggler, but before the Battle of Endor she still has less than fifty hours of flight time in a B-wing. The harrowing experience of Endor rid her of this status immediately, and Moonsong was put in charge of training the new recruits.

!!Lieutenant Thane Kyrell/Corona Four

->'''Appears in:''' ''[[Literature/StarWarsLostStars Lost Stars]]''

A human male aristocrat from Jelucan, Thane was best friends with Ciena Ree and went to the Imperial Academy on Coruscant with her, graduating as a top-ranked [=TIE=] pilot. However, he deserted the Empire soon after the destruction of Alderaan and joined the Alliance several months later. However, fate continued to bring him and Ciena, still serving in the Imperial fleet, together on several occasions during the war.
----
* AbusiveParents: While his mother was only neglectful of him, Thane's father would often beat him harshly and bad enough to leave scars that were still visible in his adulthood.
* AcePilot: He is one of the most skilled pilots to ever graduate from the Imperial Academy on Coruscant. After joining the Alliance, Thane is assigned to Corona Squadron, which is one of their elite Starfighter units.
* BullyHunter: He hates bullies, mainly because his father and older brother were both bullies. In fact, he and Ciena become friends because Thane charges a bunch of kids bullying Ciena when she tries to sneak a look at Tarkin's shuttle. This mentality later contributes with his decision to join the Rebellion despite being cynical about it, as he can no longer stand simply going around the galaxy and seeing the harm Imperials are inflicting everywhere.
* TheCynic: He was never a true believer in the Empire, and simply joined up to fly their advanced ships. Even after joining up with the Rebellion, he did not initially think that whatever replaced the Empire would be good, but that it at least had to be better than the Empire. After serving with the Rebellion for awhile and coming to admire its leaders, he does eventually start to believe that the Rebellion has a good chance to establish a just government.
* DeathFakedForYou: Although Ciena told him she would report that he had deserted, she actually claimed that he had committed suicide out of grief over the destruction of the Death Star.
* FlatEarthAtheist: A [[DownplayedTrope downplayed]] example: Thane works for the Rebellion with Luke Skywalker living just down the hall but continues to believe the Force is ridiculous nonsense. Doubly so with so many people in living memory who knew the Jedi. Also, despite the staggering amount of weird coincidences that keep bringing him and Ciena together. He does admit that he almost started to believe in the Force, but decides it is either not real or has a sick sense of humor after [[spoiler:his rescue of Ciena ends up placing her in a New Republic prison facing war crimes charges]].
* FriendlyEnemy: What he and Ciena. General Rieekan and his squadron are not particularly pleased by this, although his squadmates come around when they witness Ciena save Thane's life during a scouting mission.
* HeelFaceTurn: Deserts the Empire and eventually joins the Rebellion.
* HeelRealization: The destruction of Alderaan kicks off his realization that the Empire is evil, and watching his fellow Imperials enslave the Bodachi'i drives him to finally desert form the Empire.
* KnightInSourArmor: While he does not believe the Alliance can defeat the Empire, Thane feels he must fight it after having served the Empire and seeing its evil firsthand.
* OddFriendship: With Ciena due to their different and opposed cultures. The fact that it grows into a romance that continues even after Thane joins the Rebellion only increases how odd it is.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: He comes from a wealthy aristocratic family, but initially joins the military before deserting and joining the Rebellion that is attempting to take down the system that helps his class back on Jelucan.
* StarcrossedLovers: With Ciena.
* VitriolicBestBuds: His dynamic with Yendor.

A dark-skinned human female from Iloh, Kendy was a roommate and friend of Ciena Ree and Jude at the Imperial Academy on Coruscant. After graduating, she and her unit eventually mutinied against the Empire and joined the Rebellion, where she was reunited with her friend and fellow classmate Thane.
----
* AcePilot: While never as good as Ciena or Thane, Kendy was near the top of the class at the Imperial Academy and is assigned to an elite X-Wing unit as part of the Rebellion.
* ActionGirl: In addition to being a capable pilot, Kendy is more than capable of taking care of herself in a firefight. At the academy, she had the best scores in accuracy with a blaster, and she puts those skills to good use when infiltrating the ''Inflictor''.
* DoesNotLikeShoes: Being from a tropical world with lots of beaches, she grew up going barefoot most of the time and grew to hate having to wear shoes, particularly the Imperial military boots.
* HeelFaceTurn: She and most of her unit mutiny against the Empire on Miriatin, with the survivors joining the Rebel Alliance.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: She no longer considers Ciena to be a friend after joining the Rebellion, believing that someone who continued serving the Empire as long as Ciena had would be too corrupted to still be a good person. She changes her mind after witnessing Ciena save Thane's life during the scouting mission to the Hudalla System.
* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Has dark green hair, which may be natural somehow since the strict regulations of the Empire would probably disallow its officers from styling their hair in such a manner.

This does him no good, as Vander is shot down as well. Pops then uses his last few moments alive to provide warnings to Red Squadron about what they will be facing in the trench run.

* RuggedScar: She has a small vertical scar above her right eye that goes through the outer edge of her eyebrow.
* {{Workaholic}}: She throws herself completely into her work after the Battle of Endor, volunteering for mission after mission while her father watches over her child and her husband is forced to keep radio silent while in the field, much to the concern of L'ulo.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Thane Kyrell]]
!!Lieutenant Thane Kyrell/Corona Four

->'''Appears in:''' ''[[Literature/StarWarsLostStars Lost Stars]]''

* StarcrossedLovers: With Ciena.
* VitriolicBestBuds: His dynamic with Yendor.

[[folder:Kendy Idele]]
!!Lieutenant Kendy Idele/Corona Five

->'''Appears in:''' ''[[Literature/StarWarsLostStars Lost Stars]]''

-->''"Good people can start to serve the Empire. But if they stay, they stop being good."''

Thirty years after the Battle of Endor, Nunb is among several Alliance veterans who joins the Resistance to combat the growing threat of the First Order.
----
* AcePilot: He is a skilled enough pilot to sneak a fairly large starship onto a planet's surface without being detected by an orbiting Star Destroyer. Nunb later helps Lando co-pilot the ''Falcon'' during the Battle of Endor, helping guide it through the battle and the run through the second Death Star; thirty years after that, he pilots his own ship into [[spoiler: the assault on Starkiller Base, living to tell the tale after the fact]].
* AlliterativeName: '''N'''ien '''N'''unb.
* ArmsDealer: Prior to joining the Rebellion, Nunb smuggled and sold weapons.
* {{Badass}}: He is a very skilled resistance fighter, which he more than proves in ''Twilight Company''.
* BadassGrandpa: Come Film/TheForceAwakens, Nunb has been piloting and fighting for the Rebellion and Resistance longer than some of his wingmates in Poe's squadron have been alive. [[spoiler: Driving this home, he's one of the very few pilots who actually survive the destruction of Starkiller Base.]]
* BigDamnHeroes: Saves Namir Hazram from being captured by the Empire in ''Twilight Company'' by ambushing the Stormtroopers arresting him.
* BilingualDialogue: With Lando. He is actually speaking Haya, a real African language, giving a BilingualBonus on their full conversation, which is full of RepeatingSoTheAudienceCanHear:

'''Nunb:''' ''I think they're jamming us''.\\
'''Lando:''' How could they be jamming us if they don't know... [[OhCrap if we're coming]].
* DeadpanSnarker: ''Moving Target'' has him frequently snarking about pretty much everything and everyone, much to Leia's amusement since the rest of her team can't understand him.
* JawDrop: He does this when he thinks that they are about to hit a low ceiling while flying through the Death Star. They just barely manage to tip the surface.
* OhCrap: When he and Lando realize the Death Star is fully operational.
* OldSoldier: In Film/TheForceAwakens. Thirty years after Endor, Nunb's piloting skills are as sharp as ever.
* RebelLeader: Helps command the Rebel cell on his homeworld shortly after the Battle of Hoth. Nunb even helps lead the planet in a revolt against the Empire that successfully kicks them off the planet.

* RedShirt: One of many Rebel pilots at Endor who exist only to be killed.

A Rebel pilot from Alderaan, Evaan was one of several select Alderaanian children who were mentored by Queen Breha Organa. Following the destruction of Alderaan and the Battle of Yavin, Evaan accompanied Princess Leia on a mission to find and save surviving Alderaanians who were being hunted down by the Empire.
----
* AcePilot: She proves to be a very able pilot who uses a nifty trick to get Luke and Wedge to stop pursuing her and Leia's stolen shuttle.
* BatmanGambit: She and R2-D2 pull one to get Luke and Wedge to back off on their pursuit of her and Leia's shuttle: having overheard them brainstorming an idea to slow down ships by flying slowly in front of them, Evaan rigged a spare critical hyperdrive part onto the outside of the shuttle that would come loose when she banged into one of their fighters. She would then let them listen in on her informing Leia about losing the part, and after they confirmed the part was legitimate and they stopped flying in front of her, jump to hyperspace.
* {{BFG}}: Uses a giant gatling laser when rescuing Leia from Commander Dreed, cutting down the Imperial officer with a giant bolt through his chest.

* FireForgedFriends: With Leia. At the start of their mission, Evaan did not like Leia much, but after seeing her risk her life multiple times to save their fellow Alderaanians she began to respect the Princess and became friends with her.
* PutOnABus: At the end of ''Princess Leia'', Evaan [[spoiler:leaves the Rebellion and remains with the large fleet of Alderaan refugees to serve as their elected leader]].
** TheBusCameBack: She returns to help Leia in Life Debt: Aftermath
* UndyingLoyalty: To the Alderaan royal family. This is why she pledges her personal loyalty to Leia even though she has reservations about how she does not seem to be properly mourning her parents and planet or have much respect for some of their planets traditions.
