A renegade archaeologist, droid expert, and arms dealer recruited by Darth Vader to provide him with droid soldiers. Aphra continues to serve under Vader as his personal secret agent, hunting for information on the Rebellion and Vader's rivals within the Empire. After managing to extract herself from Vader's employ, Aphra returns to her work as an archaeologist only to discover her credentials are being (rightfully) questioned.

* DisneyDeath: [[spoiler:Her final appearance in ''[[ComicBook/StarWarsDarthVader Darth Vader]]'' has Vader shoot her out an air-lock in an attempt to kill her, but luckily Aphra had prepared for such a eventuality.]]
* TheDragon: To Darth Vader. She becomes his personal agent, helping to carry out his secret agenda to secure his position in the Empire and move against the Emperor.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Finds that she cannot bring herself to allow Triple-Zero to torture her own father despite her hatred and contempt for him.
* EvilCounterpart: To Han Solo, subtly. She's modeled on [[Franchise/IndianaJones Harrison Ford's second most famous character]], she becomes one of Vader's chief companions after he hires her for a one-off job, and her dynamic with Vader--as an enthusiastic young adventurer paired with an older, quieter, stoic veteran--clearly parallels Luke's dynamic with Han.
* {{Expy}}: Looks and acts like a female version of Indiana Jones, albeit one who is pretty morally ambiguous. She also bears some resemblance to Padmé and Ahsoka Tano at times, a factor that probably is the main reason why Vader isn't playing the BadBoss card on her.
* FanGirl: Of Darth Vader, which she admits while welcoming him aboard her ship.
-->'''Aphra:''' Welcome aboard the Ark Angel, sir Darth Vader. Big fan. Huge!
* FreudianExcuse: She grew up during the Clone Wars and her father abandoned her family when she was young. Her mother moved them to a homestead to make a new start for themselves, but they were attacked by raiders. Aphra escaped, but her mother was killed, and Aphra sees her idealism as leading to it. This led her to have a MightMakesRight mentality.
* FingerlessGloves: Wears gloves that go up to the first knuckle on her fingers. They look cool and work well with her occupation, since she needs some protection for her hands and her fingers free for typing and flexibility.
* GadgeteerGenius: She specializes in recovering and upgrading abandoned war droids. Her work managed to impress Vader enough for him to seek her out and recruit her.
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: After her mother died, Imperials found her and brought her back to her home. [[PetTheDog If these Imperials really did mean it out of genuine kindness]], then their impression was enough to help convince Aphra that the Empire was a force of good.
* InformedAttribute: She calls herself an archaeologist but none of the items she procures are more than a couple decades old.
* MeaningfulName: "Doctor Aphra" sounds an awful lot like a shortened form of "Doctor Aphrodite", like the famous true crime writer "Aphrodite '''Jones'''"--hinting at Aphra's status as an {{Expy}} of Franchise/IndianaJones, who was regularly called "Doctor Jones" by his companions.
* MightMakesRight: Why she believes the atrocities the Empire commits are justified.
* MoralityPet: Through interactions with her, Anakin's old personality really shines though.
* MorallyAmbiguousDoctorate: Aphra is willing to [[ConsummateLiar lie]], steal, and kill to get artifacts to sell. At the end of her own first issue, her doctorate is suspended as it was discovered that she cheated in school. This leaves her unable to sell any archaeological artifacts she discovers.
* MotorMouth: Darth Vader pretty much tells her she is this after a couple of pages of dialog. Aphra responds she gets chatty when she gets nervous and Vader really makes her nervous.
* NightmareFetishist: Upon landing on Geonosis, Aphra observes that the planet was sterilized by the Empire, killing off most of the species. She then wonders what weapons were used and states that she would love to get her hands on it.
* NoodleIncident: She apparently knows Sana Starros and asks her for help breaking out of a Rebel prison for "old times' sake." The next issue reveals a little more about their shared past, which seems to imply they were in a relationship.
* OffWithHerHead: Assuming that Vader will kill her once she no longer has any use to him, she asks that he cut her head off from behind with no warning. While also asking that if she gets a veto to please not shoot her into space, since it scares her. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, Vader tries to use the airlock one to kill her, but she anticipated it being a possibility and makes her way out of it.]]
* ParentalAbandonment: Her father left her and her mother, and her mother would later be killed.
* PreachersKid: Her father is a preacher of some kind and determined to lead her down a more moral path.
* PerkyFemaleMinion: Her generally rather upbeat attitude and MotorMouth tendencies creates a great contrast to Vader's silently threatening presence. Especially, when she's fangirling over him in her first appearances.
* SanitySlippage: After returning to her home to set it on fire and being confronted by her father, she [[WhatTheHellHero screams at him about how he doesn't seem to be concerned about where her mother is and why she's alone]] and also mentions that while she was with Imperials, she was given therapy sessions and was told that she 'might have some issues'.
* StartOfDarkness: When her mother dies and she blows up the people that killed her, then sets her own house on fire when she confronts her father about it.
* TattooedCrook: She has got a rather cool looking tattoo on her right arm that looks like circuitry.
* UndyingLoyalty: A subversion. She certainly tries to come off as this, but it's ultimately shown that her "loyalty" is simply the understanding that Vader is an unstoppable badass with a tendency to kill people who displease him or he doesn't need. So she suggests Vader kill her for being a loose end not because she cares about his plans, but because she assumes he's going to kill her, knows she has no way of stopping him, and is trying to make it a quick death. When Vader ''does'' want her dead for being a loose end and she has a way out of it, she's quick to blackmail him to keep herself alive.
* WrenchWench: She's a droid mechanic and weapons technician. She's skilled enough in these two fields and her work so impressive that '''Darth Vader''' hired her.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: Fully expected Vader to implement this trope, and is rather shocked to find out he has no plans that way.

-->''"Hello, I'm Triple-Zero and I'm looking forward immensely to torturing you today."''

An assassin droid built to look like a protocol droid and the product of one of Tarkin's research programs. He is later salvaged by Dr. Aphra and placed in Darth Vader's service.
----
* {{Adorkable}}: Despite how much of a {{Sadist}} he is.
* AxCrazy: Ruthless and sadistic as anything. He is not even truly loyal to Aphra despite his programing forcing him to obey her and is actively looking for ways to get around it so he can murder her. When Aphra gets knocked out during ''Vader Down'', Triple-Zero pretends to think she is dead so he can ignore his programing and orders BT to open fire with everything he has on the Rebels surrounding her.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: He looks like regular old protocol droid, with a taste for [[{{Sadist}} torture]].
* BreadEggsMilkSquick: His introduction sentence pretty much amounted to "Hello, I am Triple-Zero and I specialize in protocol, etiquette and torture."
* BigGuyLittleGuy: Triple-Zero is the big guy to BT-1's little guy.
* BilingualDialogue: Much of his banter with BT-1.
* TheBrute: For Vader alongside BT-1.
* BloodLust: Is convinced that the only reason organics rule the galaxy is because they have blood, and therefore Midi-chlorians. It's left unclear whether his plan to give droids the Force by installing syringes so they can refuel on the battlefield would actually have worked because Vader refuses to let him try.
* ComedicSociopathy: His completely nonchalant attitude about torture and murder is PlayedForLaughs.
* DeadpanSnarker: Yep and Dr. Aphra lampshades it after he gives her some lip about being sent into an old Genosian droid factory.
* EvilCounterpart: To C-3P0.
* FantasticRacism: Utterly despises biological creatures and believes in the superiority of droids over organic life.
* FauxAffablyEvil: His speech pattern is similar to C-3P0 but this droid is very much ruthless and sadistic.
-->'''Triple-Zero:''' I have good news and bad news about the gentlemen. Good news: I have great confidence that I have managed to extract all relevant information from Doctor Cylo-IV. I know the location of his research base and the nature of his commission from the Emperor, etcetera, etcetera.\\
'''Darth Vader:''' Then dispose of him.\\
'''Triple-Zero:''' Ah, then I have ''doubly'' good news: he's already dead.
* GlowingMechanicalEyes: Red ones at that.
* {{Jerkass}}: A sadistic robot who loves torture and murder.
* KillerRobot: He is an assassin droid after all.
* {{Omniglot}}: He can still serve as a protocol droid if the need arises.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Triple-Zero has red lenses, as shown in his page image.
* RidiculouslyHumanRobot: In the same vein as C-3P0.
* RoboticPsychopath: Let's put it this way, he tries to kill Dr. Aphra soon after she reactivates him for no reason but force of habit.
* {{Sadist}}: See TortureTechnician below.
* SoreLoser: Has a great love of holochess, but because most of his non-essential programmed skills have been removed to make room for torture protocols, he's absolutely awful at it -- and doesn't take kindly to losing. When trying to prove he's a "good sport" to a bar patron mocking him, he offers out [[ElectricJoybuzzer a deathly electrified hand to shake]].
* ServileSnarker: His programming means he ''has to'' serve Aphra and obey her commands. It doesn't mean he has to be polite about it.
* SpeciesLoyalty: He enjoys torturing and killing organics but is horrified at the destruction of droids. He refuses to torture them himself. However, he has no problem destroying a droid after [[ExactWords turning off their pain receptors]].
* ThoseTwoBadGuys: He and BT-1.
* TortureTechnician: One of his other specialties besides assassination and protocol. And he very much enjoys this line of work.

An assassin droid built to look like a astromech droid and the product of one of Tarkin's research programs. He is later salvaged by Dr. Aphra and placed in Darth Vader's service.
----
* BigGuyLittleGuy: The little guy to Triple Zero's big guy.
* EvilCounterpart: To R2-D2. And to Chopper of ''Rebels'' fame, a similarly violent astromech with a mean streak but ''technically'' a good guy.
* KillItWithFire: BT-1 has a flame thrower and he likes using it.
* KillerRobot: He is an assassin droid after all.
* MoreDakka: Let's put it this way, he has the firepower to take out an entire Clone Wars droid battalion in a couple of seconds.
* OffModel: Despite being introduced with a specific and unique head, he is sometimes illustrated with an R5 head or a ''Legends'' continuity R6 head.
* SelfMadeOrphan: Soon after he was activated he destroyed the research station and the team of scientists and engineers that created him.
* ThoseTwoBadGuys: He and Triple-Zero.
* WalkingArmory: The amount of firepower he carries within his chassis is impressive.
