Her research is catered toward the evolution of the Black Blood to help her develop ways to manipulate Madness itself, with the Black Clown and the Portable Purple Clown being by-products. Kishins are the only entities capable of manipulating Madness and creating one takes too much time and effort, so sets her sights on Kishin Asura. With the Black Blood, she wants [[FusionDance to fuse and resonate]] with the Kishin via Madness. Why? As she says: “Those who control Madness control the world.”

* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: Almost everyone who has ever met and spoken to this woman cannot stand her. The [[OriginalCharacter Original Characters]] quickly learn she has no redeeming qualities, the canon characters desperately want to kick her ass and end her for all eternity, and Medua’s own sister exhibits nothing but pure contempt towards her.

* Didn’tSeeThatComing: Kim lasts much longer than Medusa anticipated and even injures her in the process. [[spoiler: Crona bringing her to justice is also another fatal miscalculation on her part.]]

* KarmicDeath: Karma certainly enjoyed getting back at Medusa when it was time for judgment. [[spoiler: For starters, her killer is not Maka, but rather ''Crona''. As a bonus, before she gets hacked up, Crona temporarily slips into the AxCrazy persona he/she had when they still worked together. Not only that, the reason everyone gets their powers and stuff back is because Medusa tried to backstab Shaula, turning her malice full circle. Lastly, her gambit on Cobra Island was to kill everyone once they were weakened. By the time she fights Crona, Medusa has lost one eye, received severed burns, and is not exactly at full strength.]]

* MeaninglessVillainVictory: [[spoiler: Thanks to Tadpole Jackson, she successfully disposes of the crystal ball Tsuji and Caius were tasked to retrieve to give the heroes a fighting chance. In addition, Kim is on the verge of collapse and defeat herself as Free occupies a tiring Kid. For all intents and purposes, she’s won…. then Shaula’s own gambit activates, breaking the curse within the crystal ball despite it being lost. It goes downhill from there for Medusa.]]

Tsugumi Harudori, Meme Tatane, and Anya Hepburn are a trio of 14-year-old girls. The latter two are Meister candidates for Tsugumi the Demon Halberd. Eventually, three develop a fighting style that revolves around the two Meisters wielding one Weapon so that they couldn’t be broken up. Tsugumi is an average girl form Japan, Meme is a space case with a tendency to forget even the most memorable of details, and Anya is high-class and somewhat snobby lady.

Noel Isaac Ricardsen is the currently employed as the DWMA's head disciplinarian as well as the homeroom teacher for the Correctional Class. He has an older brother named Edward. Three years prior, in Chicago, he stopped and offered aid to Marcellus and Nayumi and began training his children after the four decided to partner up and join the Academy

Rewind 23 years earlier, in ''Soul Eater Zeta,'' Noel is infamously regarded as “The Bloody Shield”; a disturbed 19-year-old who mercilessly beat up people who activated an emotional and/or mental trigger in him.

* MalfunctionMalady / UnSorcerer: Like Marcellus, Noel’s got Pheryoxoma according to his character profile. It prevents Demon Weapons from undergoing PartialTransformation. This disease is especially potent in Noel’s case considering, unlike Marcellus, he has no partner and this therefore decreases his potential as a fighter (he would’ve been able to be autonomous like Justin). Then again, [[FridgeBrilliance that might’ve been the author’s intention.]]

He gets injured a lot because he has to tank certain attacks because his options are so limited. Heck, the reason he got so strong is because Noel got into many fights and was exposed to an array of different fighters.
* WeaksauceWeakness: Apparently soul wavelength attacks, such as Soul Force, disrupt his Enchanted Eye and Demonic Wavelength.

!!Kathi Rumeri
A middle-aged woman (37, to be exact) who acts as another librarian to the Academy’s Library. She also runs the Book Club and coaches Tennis. She is retired from active duty in the DWMA but became a Three-Star Meister during her tenure. According to herself, she has gone through many twists and turns during her service time. Despite her mannerisms and temperament, Kathi is probably one of the wisest individuals in the setting, not unlike Noel.

* {{Adorkable}}: The slightest of provocation tends to invoke a rather interesting or humorous reaction out of her.
* AlmightyJanitor: She’s a very capable fighter on her own, but she is retired from active duty, instead working as one of the school’s librarians. While some faculty and students like Maka are aware that she’s a Three-Star Meister, most probably aren’t.
* BadassBookworm: What did you expect? She’s a librarian and the Book Club head. It’s made clear that if Kathi wasn’t told to hold back, or if she just didn’t stop when Donum Dei was activated, she could have beaten Maka and Caius at the same time. ''She didn’t use a Demon Weapon,'' by the way.
* BigWhat: She does this two times in the same scene. The first was when Noel said he needed her for the field exam. The second was when he said she’ll need her again when he teaches the Correctional Class Joint Resonance. She was shushed by all library-goers both times.
* ChristmasCake: Her students call her “Ms. Rumeri” which means she’s either unmarried or divorced. With no signs of a child at age 37, it appears she’s this.
* ExcuseMeWhileIMultitask: She gives Maka and Caius a meaningful lecture and asks heavy questions while casually dodging and blocking their attacks.
* HairDecoration: A blue, Lord Death-style hairclip. According to her, ItWasAGift from Lord Death when she announced her retirement two years ago. Probably as thanks for her service.
* HeroicSelfDeprecation: She laments her inability to do anything despite being a RetiredBadass. She tends to downplay her power and status despite being deceptively capable. She chooses not to do much else after Maka and Caius begin Donum Dei, believing her moment has expired and that she’s done what she needed to.
* HopelessWithTech: Type 2. She’s less tech-savvy than [[{{Samurai}} Mifune]], who in this fanfic is also a Type 2 example.
* {{Meganekko}}: Fits her job as a librarian.
* PrimAndProperBun: Helps with the librarian image.
* RetiredBadass: Kathi has been in retirement for two years. However, she’s a Three-Star Meister and showed she earned that accolade in the field exam.

* SilkHidingSteel: The silk? Kathi is quite nice and friendly. The steel? You did read RetiredBadass, right?
* StealthMentor: Kathi kicks Maka’s and Caius’s asses with no effort even when they thought she was just an unassuming, retired librarian. During it, she gives advice and asks questions based on her own personal experiences to get them thinking and ready for the future. All that said, she isn’t antagonistic and wasn’t presented as such, just an obstacle for the field exam.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: Maka and Caius ''definitely'' didn’t think Kathi could take them both on.

The 41-year-old homeroom teacher of the Half Moon Class and godfather of Meredith and Luther. He apparently bears a grudge toward Professor Stein and Class Crescent Moon for presently unknown reasons.

The main antagonist of ''Soul Eater: Troubled Souls'', and the Witch who was behind the Vladingham Family Massacre. She desires to create a new world. She is behind the creation of the Anria and the experimental monster, ''00000Ω''. Hailing from the Lucrenian Clan, she does everything from the comfort of Subterrene, an underwater base that is located directly beneath Bermuda.

A special class made entirely for the rule-breakers within the Academy, hoping to teach them some discipline before reinstituting them back into the normal class settings. Something called “disciplinary hours” seem to be part of the system. There are at least 50 students in this class.

* HollywoodGenetics: They’re triplets, but they have different hair and eye colors. The eye color part no longer applies when Chapter 23 reveals that they wear color contacts and all of them have red eyes.

* ChristmasCake: Her students call her “Ms. Rumeri” which means she’s either unmarried or divorced. With no signs of a child at age 37, it appears she’s this.

* TheQuietOne: Generally, she won’t talk unless you talk to her first.

Class Crescent Moon is a classroom located in the DWMA and one of the four homerooms for designated EAT Class students. It is the classroom that the main characters of the series, including Maka and her friends, attend to and thus is the one with the most exposure. The instructor of this homeroom is Professor Franken Stein.

Then, there’s the fact that Caius provides the lemons to Claudia upon her demand. Caius even lampshades on their Ireland mission how much he feels like a servant.

Caius Vladingham is a member of the Vladingham Family, birthed into the family by Amagai Vladingham and Rukia Forsythia. He is the youngest of four, consisting of himself, Chloe, Remus, and Phyllis Vladingham. A boy who lived a completely normal life, his life turned upside down when, two years prior to the beginning of ''Soul Eater: Troubled Souls,'' a witch named Cancer Lucrenian killed off the entire family in an event to be called ‘The Vladingham Family Massacre.’ Miraculously, he survived, was treated, and taken into the care of the Academy. After meeting and befriending a young girl named Claudia Moncharmin, he seeks revenge in order to make Cancer pay for her crimes.

Making his first appearance in the story in the prologue, Caius is a 16-year-old Lance Meister and one of the many students in the Academy. He enrolled at the DWMA as a Half Moon Class student for two years until he transferred to Class Crescent Moon five weeks prior to the story’s beginning.

* AcademicAthlete: A basketball player, and a bookish student.
* {{Adorkable}}: He shows confidence and great competency in battle, but he has moments in a conversation or during the daily life where he shows shades of this.
* AltumVidetur: His techniques are translated into Latin. Even the two Joint Resonances he has with Maka are in Latin.

* CharacterDevelopment: The earliest example. Caius starts off a standoffish and rather antisocial loner who prefers to keep things to himself. A series of events, and Maka and Soul, forced him to come clean about why he’s that way. Afterwards, Caius starts to become a more open person, revealing stuff about himself little by little. Some of his quirks and interests have come to light as a result.
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: Capable of impaling and knocking around monsters and Kishin Eggs larger than him. Bifurcation and dismemberment aren’t any more difficult for him either.

Marcellus became increasingly disillusioned, culminating in intense dislike for the underground world. Unfortunately, he become too aware of his surroundings and was too afraid to actually do anything about his situation. However, at age 15, he meets a young girl named Nayumi and finally escapes Chicago, ultimately allowing them to meet the Ricardsens

In the Introduction Arc, Marcellus debuts as a 17-year-old Demon Bow who acts as Tsuji's partner.

* AcademicAthlete: One of the few things Marcellus loves doing is playing basketball. Combine that with his intelligence, and you got this.
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: Able to make accurate deductions by just taking a step back and watching carefully. His role as a Demon Weapon helps this role immensely.

However, this led to Nayumi almost breaking, becoming increasingly nihilistic due to their lack of care for her. One day, when she was 12, the [[spoiler: Canadian police stopped and arrested her parents near the border,]] but she managed to escape on a boat and get into America. She met Marcellus in Chicago and ultimately convinced him to leave after a heartfelt conversation.

Their efforts eventually paid off, resulting them in meeting the Ricardsens. She winds up becoming Rowena’s partner for the DWMA. In the Introduction Arc, now leagues more cheerful and happier than in ''Saeculum'', Nayumi debuts as a 14-year-old Demon Sledgehammer.

A middle-aged woman (37, to be exact) who acts as another librarian to the Academy’s Library. She also runs the Book Club and coaches Tennis. She is retired from active duty in the DWMA but became a Three-Star Meister during her tenure. According to herself, she has gone through many twists and turns during her service time. Despite her mannerisms and temperament, Kathi is probably one of the wisest individuals in the setting, not unlike Noel.

* BigWhat: She does this two times in the same scene. The first was when Noel said he needed her for the field exam. The second was when he said she’ll need her again when he teaches the Correctional Class Joint Resonance. She was shushed by all library-goers both times.
* ChristmasCake: Her students call her “Ms. Rumeri” which means she’s either unmarried or divorced. With no signs of a child at age 37, it appears she’s this.

Those 21 years of preparation are showing, and the first death hasn’t even happened yet!
** There’s also another but subtle example. Cancer attacks during the Gathering Day. Let that sink in… Don’t get it? Every Vladingham has gathered on this one day that they consider their personal holiday. She knew they would all be at the village, and that it’s the perfect stage to get them all in one fell swoop. We can reasonably assume Cancer found this out sometime during preparations, but she nonetheless has them trapped like rats, and they don’t even know it.

A system of the Academy that takes in students incapable of fighting Monsters and Evil Humans and trains them, either to ensure they aren’t a danger to the outside world or for them to become good enough to be promoted to the EAT curriculum. Ninety percent of the students in the DWMA make up and follow the NOT curriculum. In ''Soul Eater: Troubled Souls'', all NOT students are Zero-Stars to differentiate them from the EAT students and their ranking system. They are usually defined as freshmen, sophomores, juniors, or seniors.

The main antagonist of ''Soul Eater: Troubled Souls'', and the Witch who was behind the Vladingham Family Massacre. She desires to create a new world. She is behind the creation of the Anria and the experimental monster, ''00000Ω''. She does everything from the comfort of Subterrene, an underwater base that is located directly beneath Bermuda.

* LackOfEmpathy: In ''Soul Eater: Troubled Souls'', Cancer expresses not a lot of emotion as she carries out her business, which includes issuing threats (that ''aren’t'' idle, fyi) and making heinous orders. In ''Saeculum'', Cancer shows mild excitement (she even '''smiles''') at the prospect of slaughtering Vladinghams in the beginning phases of the massacre.

* YoungerThanTheyLook: If Soul’s JawDrop is any indication, Kathi doesn’t look 37-years-old.

A middle-aged woman who acts as another librarian to the Academy’s Library. She also runs the Book Club and coaches Tennis. She is retired from active duty in the DWMA but became a Three-Star Meister during her tenure.

* TheChessmaster: Only the first part of the massacre has been publicized, but there’s already enough information to brand her as this. To wit, she has Henderson and the Darkling (whatever those are) in a position to cut off help from the DWMA Rozniak base, she has several currently unknown creatures in hiding for a later ambush, she knows the entire geography of Rozniak, is aware of common skillsets of Vladinghams, ''and'' enlisted the help of [[spoiler: ''Project Omega's Primordial Form'']]. Those 21 years of preparation is showing, and the first death hasn’t even happened yet!
** There’s also another but subtle example. Cancer attacks during the Gathering Day. Let that sink in… Don’t get it? Every Vladingham has gathered on this one day that they consider their personal holiday. She knew they would all be at the village, and that it’s the perfect stage to get them all in one fell swoop. We can reasonably assume Cancer found this out sometime during preparations, but she nonetheless has them trapped like rats, and they don’t even know it.
