She had to stab In episode 11, Tsubaki goes inside of her evil older brother's soul and kills him, but not before the two of them are able to genuinely connect for a few brief moments. Despite everything that happened, Tsubaki makes it clear later on that she sees Masamune as the loving brother he used to death be, and ate his soul.seems to blame herself to some degree for Masamune falling victim to the Madness. It's rather unsubtly implied that Tsubaki immediately growing attached to Star after they met is at least partially because she sees in him the man Masamune used to be.

Actually the more I thought about it, Black Star and Kid don't really fit for "Tritagonist" here. Like, on one hand Soul does fit the "Deuteragonist" role here since he's the secondary protagonist behind Maka. But on the other hand, his story is also intrinsically connected to Maka's, while Star's and Kid's stories are pretty much independent. Definitely a case where I could see someone making an argument for the deuteragonist being Soul OR Star/Kid, so for now I'm just gonna leave it as-is ig.

* {{Tritagonist}}: Maka is the TheProtagonist and Soul is the {{Deuteragonist}}, but Black Star and Death the Kid share the Tritagonist role.

* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Has a particularly awesome one when he expertly tricks Blair into a trap in In the first episode episode, Soul and Maka get into a fight, prompting Soul to seemingly ditch her in favor of being Blair's weapon. Maka is understandably hurt, and yells at Soul why guys always cheat. Soul responds that he wouldn't know... because cool guys don't cheat, and then proceeds to blindside Blair when she's off-guard. For all the anime.crap that Soul and Maka give each other, they are each other's ride-or-die and would never entertain the idea of backstabbing the other.
