* * AlasPoorVillain: Despite being an amoral jerk who stole the Dragon Stone, it's hard not to feel sympathy for him when [[spoiler:he's killed off by Abbigail.]] Jalkar regretted taking the job and said it was far more trouble than it was worth because after taking the egg, he was relentlessly hunted down by Abbigail, had to fight the Voltaris after their deal fell through, and had to deal with an enderman who attacked him and Grim for the egg. [[spoiler:The job and the egg proved to be his undoing when he was killed by Abbigail because of it.]] It was initially thought that he could have had character development and do a HeelFaceTurn, yet he turned worse instead of better.

* RootingForTheEmpire:
** Jalkar has this effect on the fans. This may be due to the fact that he had an interesting dynamic with his partner Grim ( a fan favorite) and the way he fights, being very skilled and showy with his knife and having awesome fights because of his competence with it.

* UnintentionallySympathetic:
** Jalkar is made out to be a ruthless criminal with few morals (and he sort of is). However, the fact that he wasn't downright evil and just wanted money from stealing the Etherean Dragon Egg but was relentlessly pursued or threatened by others who wanted the egg (causing him to regret the job) places him in a sympathetic light.
