Lim Soo-ho is a North Korean agent on a mission in South Korea to kidnap Professor Han I-seop, an economic professor that supports the opposition party, and bring him to Pyongyang. To do this, he poses as a graduate student in the Department of Economics from the University of Berlin that working on his thesis and seeking Professor Han's assistance. He later met Yeong-ro and her friends on a blind date organized by his South Korean 'friends'. As a North Korean spy, he is codenamed as "Taedong River 1" and [[IOweYouMyLife very devoted]] to his [[spoiler: adoptive]] father, Lim Ji-rok, the head of United Front Dept. of DPRK.
