* TheUnfettered: The Sinister taint doesn't enable Sinister to control the others, much to his eventual chagrin; instead, it heightens their most negative ''and'' positive traits through Sinister's own scheming, amoral and sociopathic filter until they eventually become the worst possible version of themselves:
** Xavier retains his genuine belief in unity between mutants and humans and his belief in embracing and showing mercy to his opponents, but his manipulative and arrogant tendencies are heightened until he becomes a narcissistic monster intent on forcing everyone to mentally assimilate into his worldview.
** Emma keeps her genuine devotion to her students, but when coupled with her sadistic tendencies this is warped into a kind of [=BDSM=] MyBelovedSmother form.

She also loses her reservations about being worshipped as some kind of mutant messiah and begins to narcissistically revel in the attention. Her tactical abilities become a kind of vicious bloodlust on an omnicidal scale.
** Exodus remains as fanatically devoted to his mutant religion as ever, but becomes a lot more ruthless and even more fundamentalist. He retains his faith in Hope the messiah -- but this no longer extends to Hope the actual person...

* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: By the year 1000+, events have clearly taken their toll on Sinister; he remains as self-serving, venal and narcissistic as ever, but is clearly a lot more weary and beaten-down, is less theatrical and posturing, and is as close to being regretful and remorseful about what has happened as he is capable of getting (in that it's largely because of how it's affected him).

** When Sinister is finally [[spoiler: sentenced to The Pit after the timeline is restored]], it is noted by a couple of members of the Quiet Council that his desperate pleading and ranting seemed a lot more sincere and less theatrical than it otherwise should under the circumstances. [[spoiler: This is because the one thing he ''has'' learned from the future is that another version of himself has ''already'' achieved Dominion and they're all in terrible, terrible danger, including himself. And it's heavily implied to be Mother Righteous, who has already begun worming her way into the confidence of the Quiet Council in the current timeline...]]
