* DisneyDeath: At the end of the Debut, Shirley's body disintegrates in front of Rum. For a while, she's believed to have died due to lack of contact with her human. Fortunately, it turns out Shirley just returned to being a Morph and stayed with Rum the whole time.

* FunSize: After turning back into a Morph, Shirley is so small that Rum can carry her on her hand.

* MorphicResonance: Her original Morph form retains the cowlick she had when she was Shirley. In the anime, this was changed to wearing her purple finger ribbon on her head, which is later included in the manga as well.

This resulted in her codependency on him and feeling of being a failure as a Star Bearer she can't put others first like Christopher did, making her self-loathing even worse.

* LovingAShadow: Barbara puts Christopher on a pedestal and is kept in the dark about the secrets that he and Maryrose hid from her. Because of this, she isn't aware that Christopher really was very insecure and dependent on Anthony who was the real responsible for Christopher's success as a Star Bearer. This gets worse after [[spoiler:Kate uses her soot to disguise Anthony as Christopher to convince a desperate Barbara that her beloved idol is still alive, meaning Barbara is clinging on to a dead person now portrayed by someone else.]]
