* ADayInTheLimelight: They're the starter characters in the original Balzac's Heritage mission, and are perfectly capable of clearing it themselves.

* ImmortalitySeeker: A whole organization of them, if Sunset's opening narration is to be believed.

* PokeThePoodle: After an entire season's worth of build-up they're hardly nasty at all when they show up at the end of ''Sunset''.

* YouHaveFailedMe: Twice in Mirage, both when their underlings expose their doings.

To the surprise of no one, High Priest Devious is a member of the Dracontine leadership. However, Devious isn't content with being number three in the group: his ultimate goal in Desert Kingdom is to complete and cast a rune that will turn him into a new Sdorica, fueled by the lives of the people in the capital.

The Grand Sorceress of the northern tribes.

* LockedOutOfTheLoop: As she has been holed up in the north for who knows how long, she's in the dark about a couple of things her fellow Dracontines know, such as Uzziah being the Guardsman [[spoiler:protecting Sdorica's core]].
* PragmaticVillainy: The reason she refuses to sacrifice more people for a portal-opening ritual is that the Dracontines have tried it long ago but failed, so she surmises another sacrifice will be just as futile.
* ThickerThanWater: This is how she feels about the Dracontines, even 8th: Despite 8th's constant deadly pranks on her, they are still a family to her and she will protect them above all else.

* ArchEnemy: He apparently has a nasty history with Izumi; just seeing the kitsune is his personal GodzillaThreshold.
* DarkIsNotEvil: He is wreathed in dark aura (some characters are wary of him or even accuse him of being a Dracontine), he controls the dangerous Void monsters... but he's trying to prevent the resurrection of Sdorica.

* DroppedABridgeOnHim: [[spoiler:He attempt to escape the Alliance when the void outbreak happens, but Izumi cuts him down under Juan Yun's order.]]

* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: She really loves Shirley. When Zola attempted to kill Shirley's baby, Shirley offered to trade her life for the baby's, causing Zola to relent and later hide Shirley from the Dracontines hunting her down. [[LoveMakesYouEvil Her villainy in the present day]] also stems from her rage towards the Carlos family and Rune Academy whom she blames for Shirley's death.

* BadSamaritan: Ultimately he helps Tindoiimu become the arbiter so that he can use her to break the Udumbara tree.

* AllPowerfulBystander: Aside from helping Aosta revive Morris (which becomes an important plot point by ''Mirage'''s finale) and dealing with the void and Dracontines (the only beings strong enough to stand up against him), he barely gets involved in everyone else's business.

* DarkIsNotEvil: He is wreathed in dark aura (making Charle highly suspicious of him), he controls the dangerous Void monsters... but he's trying to prevent the resurrection of Sdorica.

* AlwaysSecondBest: She's aware she's a second child thus SpareToTheThrone, and she acknowledges her sister is the stronger sibling.
* BadBoss: Even after Jihasaha tells her not to abuse her servants when he's away, she does it anyway.
* CuteAndPsycho: She knows how to play the sweet child in want of pampering... before lashing out to random servant for no reason.
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: The foolish {{womanchild}} sibling to Tindoiimu's responsible mature sibling.
* GodSaveUsFromTheQueen: She ascends to the throne after her parents' death as Tindoiimu is still a prisoner in East Alliance when that happens, and makes no effort to exercise restraint on her newfound authority.
* MoodSwinger: She alternates between crybaby and murderously violent at an alarming rate.
* PsychopathicWomanchild: She's basically a sheltered little girl thrust into a position of authority she likely doesn't expect, and becomes an abusive leader figure with no regards to even her own subjects.
* SlayingMantis: Her bonded insect is a praying mantis, and she's definitely savage.

A mysterious organization bent on resurrecting Sdorica, said to be the remnants of the people who sided with the dragon against Vendacti's freedom-bringing crusade.

* UriahGambit: He deliberately sends a few people on a suicide mission under the pretense of stopping the Beast of Judgment. Their unexpected success forces him to try and kill them himself, blowing his cover.

* AllPowerfulBystander: Aside from helping Aosta revive Morris (which becomes an important plot point by ''Mirage'''s finale) and dealing with the void and Dracontines (the only beings strong enough to stand up against him), he barely every gets involved in everyone else's business.

* TheGhost: The True Sun has only been mentioned sparsely in story and their true identity has not even been hinted at.

* RightForTheWrongReasons: He and most other chieftains are absolutely unwilling to [[spoiler:let Tindoiimu be the next arbiter]]. His own reasoning is [[spoiler:simple racism]], but turns out [[spoiler:allowing Tindoiimu to become arbiter gives her access to the Udumbara tree, which ends up causing a ''major'' disaster he doesn't see coming thanks to his own son, or rather, the Dracontine who possesses him.]]

* DeadPersonImpersonation: [[spoiler:The real Himawari, who was Miranda's friend, has already been dead for some time after Sennosuke ruined the leopard tribe. This Himawari is a human (actually, an insect tribe) who is masked as a leopard via rune magic.]]

A strange swordsman who wanders the Paradise Prairie in search of the Monster Enchantress. He often speaks of The Exalted One he once served.

* BlackAndWhiteInsanity: He has a rigid concept of good and evil, and that evil must be destroyed. However...
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: His concept of good and evil is bizarre, to say the least. During his first screen time, he initially helps Fredrica's squad to combat "evil" void monsters, but the next thing they know, he suddenly turns on them because now ''they'' are the "evil" one. He also judges anyone who dares impersonate his Exalted One for any reason evil and sets off to kill the Monster Enchantress exactly for that crime.
* MagicKnight: In addition to his swordsmanship, he has access to powerful time magic.
* MyGreatestFailure: He speaks of his failure to bring back his Exalted One, partly because of his wrong choice of the inheritor of the True Sun position.
* TimeMaster: Fredrica notices that he wields a strange rune that allows him to manipulate time. In his first stint as a HopelessBossFight, he always strikes ''before'' your character can even move, making him virtually untouchable.

And then said daughter reveals that fact in front of the masses, and, under the pressure of the chieftains, she is forced to treat her daughter as a criminal to be imprisoned and possibly executed. Later she reveals that she actually knows about her daughter's illness, which causes her to take extreme measures just for any chance to hide her daughter from public, and when that fails, decides to take a risk to sneak her daughter out of the alliance to protect her.]]

* ArchEnemy: He apparently has a nasty history with Izumi; just seeing the kitsune is his personal GodzillaThreshold.
* DarkIsNotEvil: He is wreathed in dark aura (making Charle highly suspicious of him), he controls the dangerous Void monsters... but he's trying to prevent the resurrection of Sdorica.
* EnemySummoner: He can summon and control Void monsters.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: Implied; During Tica's storyline, he hints that he knows exactly what happened centuries prior that led to the rise of marionette religion in Atlas.
* TheUnfettered: We don't know what his deal is but we know that he's completely ruthless in his methods.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Assuming he's actually trying to stop Sdorica's resurrection, he's a truly epic one.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: Despite his threats in the (original) intro battle, Angelia seems to regard him as an ally, telling him not to go through with his dangerous plans. Alas, by then, his mind is already made up and he won't be stopped.

* DarkIsEvil: Both their dark outfit and affinity to dark magic label them as the bad guys.
