* NeverMyFault: PlayedWith. He knows he screws up alot, but he doesn't understand the full rammification of some of his screwups toward his past girlfriends and a major theme is him coming to terms with owning up to his fair share of the problems.
** Furthermore, he actually doesn't blame anyone else for what happened; his approach seems to be to kinda try and leave it in the past without confronting the issues. This means he ends up making similar mistakes, albeit in different circumstances. (That or he may blame the circumstances themselves).
** Also somewhat subverted. He apologized to Envy back in Book 3 and confessed what he did with Knives was unfair for her, so he did admit he did wrong with both of them. He apologized to Kim back in Book 5 (though the [[spoiler: memory tampering made it difficult for him to fully know what went wrong.]])

* NeverMyFault: PlayedWith.Heavily PlayedWith and Subverted in some cases.
\n As such, his mindset seems to be it's really no one's fault.
** Also somewhat subverted. However, he has also owned up to his faults. He apologized to Envy back in the end of Book 3 and confessed earlier, he admitted what he did with Knives (in terms of cheating on her) was unfair for her, so wrong. Both cases, he did admit knew he did wrong with both of them. screwed up and apologized. He apologized to Kim back also near the end in Book 5 (though the [[spoiler: memory tampering made Gideon screwing with his memories was why it difficult took so long for him to fully do it, he didn't know what went wrong.he did anything wrong, or at least he suspected something was wrong, but didn't know what.]])

* PsychopathicManchild: Downplayed. [[spoiler:While not malevolent or evil, Scott has a lot of problems in his head based on his dreams and the potential AmbiguousDisorder. When he starts breaking down, it's startling and worrying. See SanitySlippage.]]

%%* AmnesiacDissonance: [[spoiler:Whatever his current faults, Scott's at least less capable of genuine cruelty than he was before his memories were altered]].
%%** Debatable. [[spoiler: He seems to have been deliberately repressing bad memories for a while and is very reluctant to approach on a negative subject. He does seem to subconciously know he did something wrong, but seems to have no idea what to do.]]

%% * BastardBoyfriend: Heavily downplayed example. While not inherently mean, Scott is often insensitive and clueless when he is doing something wrong and prone to making ill-thought out decisions. [[spoiler:For starters, he ended up with Kim as a result of an altercation with someone who Kim was sorta-dating at the time (in Scott's defense, Kim did say Simon was kind of a dick, only mentioning Scott was probably one in an off-handed manner and later on, Kim herself admits she played a part). However, the big problem was how when he had to break things off with Kim due to moving, he told their mutual friend Lisa to tell Kim. Kim did confront him about it, though Scott did look ashamed for when she asked why he did that. In addition, there was the big thing with Knives and to a very limited extent with Envy, as he was the one who caused the fight that led to the dissolution of the relationship. Thankfully, he comes to realize it, and does his best to make amends.]]
%% -->[[spoiler:''(Ramona and Scott just after having drunk sex)'']]
%% -->[[spoiler:'''Ramona''': Did you cheat on me with Knives Chau?]]
%% -->[[spoiler:'''Scott''': What? No... ({{Beat}}) ...I cheated on Knives Chau with you.]]

%%* BitchInSheepsClothing: Another heavily downplayed example though still a very important part of his character. While Scott initially comes off as a lovable loser NiceGuy, it becomes progressively more clear as the series goes on that he's hurt people, albeit nonintentionally and he has his own faults and negatives. Part of his CharacterDevelopment is him learning from his mistakes and overcoming his downsides.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: While not as nice as he makes himself out to be, he isn't as bad as others make him out to be and is on his way to improving himself.

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: While not Downplayed. He's usually a NiceGuy, but he has some notable flaws that keep him from being completely clean cut such as nice as insensitivity and unawareness when he makes himself hurts others' feelings, but he doesn't do it out to be, he isn't as bad as others make him out to be and is on his way to improving himself.of maliciousness.

* LaserGuidedAmnesia: [[spoiler: Downplayed and self inflicted; he tends to repress the bad memories in regards to conflicts or misdeeds toward the people he cares about, especially his girlfriends. Granted, things were made worse when Gideon went and tampered with his memories ForTheEvulz, there was foreshadowing that Scott was repressing his memories, but still seem to know he messed up subconsciously. The purpose of his EpiphanyTherapy in the wilderness is to confront his mistakes.]]

Added DiffLines:

** At the very least, the legal age of consent in Ontario is 16, so it's not ''technically'' illegal, but it is very skeevy for a twenty-something to be dating a high schooler by any extent. Again, only [[OnlySaneMan Kim and Wallace]] call Scott on this, with everyone else either ignoring or not caring about the age gap.
