* BadassNormal: Having ice powers would normally disqualify him from the "normal" classification, but he's a different type. Of all the Shiseiten and even a better part of the cast as a whole, Akira stands out in this respect in that he is the only character (aside from Yuya) who does not have samurai blood. This becomes a major hurdle he has to overcome, because in the context of the story, it means his ability to grow and improve is severely limited compared to the rest of the cast.
