* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: You didn't actually think his real name was [[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast Deathmask]], did you?
** Ironically, either this name is his real name or not, it can count as MeaningfulName not only in a literal way, but it's also a name of a funeral tradition.

* IdenticalTwinIDTag: Not applied in original anime, but since Hades Saga, his hair is even more purplish than Kanon. Also in the manga, when he and Kanon are both blonde, he have longer and wavier hair.

* MrFanservice: The only Gold Saint that is this more than Dohko. In battles, he does the BattleStrip just to show that he is powerful as he is, not because of the Cloth. Oh, and [[BathingBeauty he also really likes to take a bath.]]. Because he's angsting hsi life problems, that's why.

Oh, and [[BathingBeauty he also really likes to take a bath.]]. Because he's angsting hsi life problems, that's why.Is so notorious on being this, to the point if there is any spin-off starring the original Gold Saints, expect his SuperpoweredEvilSide to pull a BattleStrip at least once.
** Considering that it's his SuperPoweredEvilSide that was in charge of those BattleStrip scenes, it might be FanDisservice to some. See the anime page of that trope.

* PurpleIsPowerful: Have purple hair, and is the strongest Saint to EVER serve Athena.

** NotSoStoic: Cried after passed the temple he used to guard because now his EvilTwin takes that place and finally pulled a HeelFaceTurn after almost half of their lives.

* AdaptationDistillation: Due to an erased scene of his first meeting with Ikki and other adjustments to fit this change, Shaka became a big arrogant jerk in The Sanctuary Arc. The anime scriptwriters seem to have a grudge against Shaka or something, [[spoiler: such as creating an episode where Shaka send his disciples to kill Ikki, not to mention cheating in that fight by helping his disciples when it's already a 2 against 1 fight.]] Thus this anime only event didn't help Shaka's image the slightest. This caused some fans who only watch anime wonder why Shaka seems to behave differently in Hades arc, as this arc followed Shaka's characterization from the manga closer.
