It's her rather abrasive interactions with Shoma that nearly divides the group, though she also shows some feelings for him. In ''Project Justice'', when Momo shows up, Natsu has serious reservations about her hanging around Shoma all the time, which end up dividing the group of friends. Natsu is joined by Roberto and Nagare to find out the source of the new distrubances. She's one of the first to welcome back Shoma after he's betrayed by Momo and starts to more overtly show feelings for him.

The name Tiffany Lords seems quite similar to an infamous pornstar called Traci Lords, who also played up the bubbly blonde angle. Make of that what you will.

* PomPomGirl: As she’s the token American female of the series, she’s designed as a very sexy cheerleader, complete with spirited, cheerful personality and an acrobatic move-set. Tiffany exhibits none of the oft-encountered cheerleader cattiness.

* SheFu: Her acrobatic moveset is explained by her cheerleading skills.

* ReligiousBruiser: See Martial Pacifist above. In addition, his burning vigor attacks invoke images of crosses; in one he stretches his arms in a cross as he spins upwards and in the other he delivers an horizontal and then a vertical punch that leave a fiery cross and make the oponent briefly stand in a CrucifiedHeroShot. Plus, when knocked out, he shouts, "AMEN!"
* TokenMinority: Doubled up - he's the only black student on the token foreign team.

->A Japanese language instuctor at Justice High, Hideo is sent out along with Kyoko to recruit students for the fledgling Justice High. When he and Kyoko start questioning the means for their recruitment and bring it up with the principal Raizo, they are defeated by him and brainwashed by Hyo into unquestioning servants of Justice High. Students from Taiyo High snap him out of it, and [[IKnowYoureInThereSomewhereFight he helps snap Kyoko out of it as well (or the other way around)]]. After Hyo and Raizo are defeated, Hideo confesses his feelings for Kyoko and proposes to her, which she accepts. In ''Project Justice'' a random attack from Gedo High students concerns the pair and they join fellow teacher Hayato in looking into the cause of the new school violence. Hideo is injured during their investigation, but it does not stop Kyoko in reminding him of their wedding.

* BadassTeacher: He's a Japanese teacher who formerly of the scion of a school of karate.

* {{Expy}}: Looks like [[VideoGame/ArtOfFighting Takuma Sakazaki]] with Ryu's moveset. He also wears metal shoulder plates like those on Bison.
* HeirToTheDojo: Was this before becoming a teacher. A feud over his family's fighting style led him to be unfairly ousted from the position, which led him into teaching.

->The school nurse at Justice High, Kyoko is teamed with Hideo to recruit students to Justice High by Raizo. Like Hideo, when she questions the means by which they do their recruiting, she becomes brainwashed into another servant of the school. Like Hideo, Taiyo high students help break her out of the mind control and later, she accepts Hideo's marriage proposal. Her dealing with the students also inspires her to help change the world more, outing a corrupt former employer and becoming a teacher at Justice High teaching chemistry. In ''Project Justice'' she teams with Hideo and Hayato to investigate the new school violence, and later reminds Hideo of their wedding, as well as their duty to help rebuild Justice High.

* MagicSkirt: Somehow despite all her fighting, which includes plenty of high kicks, her skirt never manages to fly up like it does with Hinata. Justified in that it's a tight-fitting miniskirt as opposed to the flowy pleated school skirts Hinata wears.

* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Onigiri (rice balls). Eats them in his taunt and in one of his winning poses. He's apparently been given the title of "Dr. Onigiri" because of his knowledge on rice balls. He also supposedly carries chocolate on his person so he share with people.

->Following the announcement that she would appear as a playable character in ''VideoGame/StreetFighterV'' via DLC, Akira is the first ''Rival Schools'' character to officially cross over into the ''Street Fighter'' series.

* BreakoutCharacter: She's the fan favorite of the series and was able to bank a slot for the 5th season of DLC in ''Street Fighter V''. Not only that, she got over half of the votes between the 4 characters on the Street Fighter Twitter on which of the 4 revealed newcomers are they hyped about.

* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: As an rough, androgynous biker, she serves as the tomboy to Yurika's girly girl.

* ToughSpikesAndStuds: She wears a biker jacket with spiked shoulder pads and is as tough as they come in the games.

->Debuting in ''Project Justice'', Zaki is the [[{{Delinquents}} delinquent]] leaderess of the Ladies Team gang. Because of this, Akira approaches her to help find out what's with the behavior being displayed by Daigo. Zaki reveal herself to be a very "chain-whip first, ask questions later" sort of person, hating teachers and very irritable. The Ladies Team is fiercely loyal to her, as she's quick to mobilize and organize them when the Gedo High gang leads an attack on Seijyun High. In the Seijyun ending, she helps cheer up Akira in Yurika's absence and comments on the PseudoRomanticFriendship between the two.

* ChainPain: Her weapon of choice is a chain that she utilizes akin to a whip.
* ChainedByFashion: It's not just a weapon for her - Zaki wears chains on her uniform and even in her hair.

* JapaneseDelinquents: Her school uniform includes chains, a mask, and a lengthened skirt with a split seam, the kind typically worn by female deliquents and gang members.

The athletic school, where just about everybody in the school is on a sports team or is studying a field related to sports. Every character from here [[IKnowMaddenKombat knows Madden Kombat]] and will not refrain from using it. Has a university branch in Gorin University.

* CompensatingForSomething: Shoma's giant baseball bat, which is to compensate for... [[TheNapoleon his height]]. [[JustifiedTrope No, really]] - he admits in the character creation games that he hopes carrying around and using a bat of that size will force his body to compensate for its size by making him stronger and taller.

* InconsistentSpelling: His name was spelled "Syoma" in the arcade version of ''United By Fate''.

* MasochismTango: Deep down, his heart belongs to Natsu, but given his fiery personality, and the fact that she doesn;t stand for any of his shit, their interactions often quickly turn into bickering and then full-on blazing rows.

* BoyishShortHair: Wears short hair with side-tail accents. She's [[{{Tomboy}} a tomboy]] and the captain of the school's volleyball team, and so good at it that [[IKnowMaddenKombat she's based her fighting style around it.]] The members of her team all look up to her ([[HugeSchoolgirl literally!]]) like a CoolBigSis and a role model. Most of all, [[MamaBear they know she'll protect them.]]

* OneOfTheBoys: Very much so, which is the reason Shoma joked about her getting love letters from her team members. Naturally, she didn't take that one lying down.

* SchoolSportUniform: As captain of Gorin High's volleyball team, she fights in her team uniform, which consists of a [[http://www.fightersgeneration.com/characters2/natsu-b-udon.jpg jersey, knee pads, and bloomers]]. So you get to see plenty of leg and a bit of her behind during her fights. In the sequel ("Project Justice"), she switches to a regular pair of gym shorts.

He joins Shoma and Natsu in their investigation of the attacks not for any personal reason, but because he's the only one who can mediate [[SlapSlapKiss their constant arguing]]. In ''Project Justice'', he is unable to stop the group splintering and has to hang out with Natsu and Nagare for most of the story. The Gorin High ending has him humorously observe the Shoma-Natsu-Momo love triangle along with Nagare.

* IDidWhatIHadToDo: Roberto has nothing against Natsu, and only teams up with Shoma against her, in order to make her settle down. Regardless whether he and Shoma win, or not, he apologizes to her in the following cutscene and asks if she feels better now that she's blown off some steam.

* TheQuietOne[=/=]TheStoic: It's pretty rare for him to even speak, to the point that the voice over in his introduction pose is not him, but rather a female announcer introducing him as if he were competing in a swim meet.

* BitchInSheepsClothing: She's a conniving, scheming little brat who uses her appearance and an apparent attack by [[spoiler:Kurow disguised as]] Batsu to win over friends.

* CuteBruiser: She's said to be very strong for her size that her tennis racket was reinforced with large bolts to compensate for her strength when she hits tennis balls with it.

->Leader of Gedo High's gang, Daigo is fiercely determined to protect his hometown, and teaches his follows on how to do so. When the kidnapping and attacks strike local schools prior to the events of ''United By Fate'', Daigo sets out to find out who is behind it. He does find out Hyo is TheManBehindTheMan and challenges him to fight, but is defeated and becomes a brainwashed servant of Hyo. It takes the intervention of his sister Akira and two of his gang's most loyal members, Edge and Gan, to break him out of it. Disappointed by the loss, Daigo set out to train himself to avoid such a loss. During that time, he is somehow turned into a brainwashed sleeper agent of Kurow Kirishima, which segues into ''Project Justice''. Under Kurow's influence, Daigo orders Edge, Gan and the rest of Gedo's gang to attack the other schools, which concern Edge and Gan to the point where they team with Akira again to knock some sense into Daigo. Depending on the ending, either they succeed in breaking Daigo out of his brainwashing and Daigo sets off to train himself again, or [[spoiler:he dies from fighting them too many times]].

* DistressedDude: During the first game, he's captured and brainwashed by Hyo and has to be rescued by his sister and subordinates. And then it happens ''again'' in the sequel -- [[spoiler:and may end up being killed]].
