This would be true only if Ada was always 100% on Leon's side. Thing is, she's not, as the end of Resident Evil 4 showed. She could've let him keep the Plagas, but instead held him at gunpoint until he was forced to surrender it to her. That's not loyalty. That's taking advantage of someone. The thing that people need to keep in mind is that Ada, despite showing genuine affection towards Leon, also sees him as a valuable pawn and keeps him alive partially because his heroic exploits also happen to put her in advantageous positions, whether it be infiltrating dangerous areas to collect virus samples or to they happen to share the same enemies (such as Carla Radames and Simon). Just because Ada is a more benevolent Femme Fatale than most examples doesn't mean she has Leon's best interests in mind. Her loyalties are ultimately towards herself and whatever organization she actually belongs to.

* UndyingLoyalty: Downplayed, but the only consistent loyalty she demonstrates is towards Leon. While she's willing to play him during missions and has absolute faith in his survival skills, she's always there to save him when things are at their worst. She'll readily kill her own allies if it means protecting him, as Krauser learned the hard way.

* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: Downplayed. Ada is drawn towards Leon's kindness and incorruptible sense of heroism, causing her to go out of her way to do right by him even if it risks jeopardizing her own mission. But in true FemmeFatale fashion, she never expresses any real desire to enter a serious or committed relationship with him, and is what makes Ada fell for him. shown to be more interested in the "thrill" of their semi-adversarial encounters as well as how to keep using him to her advantage.

** In the original 4, she forces Leon to give her the Plagas sample at gunpoint, and tells him she'll "take good care of it", and promptly flees in an awaiting chopper, but had the decency to give him the key to the jet ski she left behind for him. In the remake, she doesn't hold Leon at gunpoint and simply takes the sample while he's still winded from his fight with Saddler, tells him Luis promised to give her a plagas sample, and instead of fleeing from him in the chopper, actually offers to let him come along, but Leon refuses. She still gives him the keys to the jet ski so he can escape.

** The remakes of 2 and 4, however, opt to heavily downplay their attraction and even deconstruct it, instead putting more emphasis on the toxic nature of a FemmeFatale using seduction to get a (then) naïve person to do what she wants, regardless of any genuine affections she may or may not secretly have for him, which results in Leon growing to distrust Ada and preferring to avoid having anything more to do with her unless no other option is given.

* AdaptationalAngstDowngrade: In the original 2, she tells Leon she came to Raccoon City to look for her boyfriend John, and Annette Birkin confirms his death to her. After that, she quietly mourns by herself. In the remake of 2, this is changed to her pretending to be an FBI agent, but Leon is rightfully suspicious of her.

* AdaptationalNiceGuy: Ada herself receives this treatment in the remake of 2. Whereas she quietly ignored Leon after he took a bullet for her in the original, and only returned later to patch him up after dealing with Annette, Remake!Ada elected to bandage him up first before going after her target. An enigmatic spymaster and assassin whose true allegiances and name are still unknown to this day. What's known of Ada is she has long worked against the Umbrella Corporation's interests, often collaborating with their rivals to steal their work - regardless of the consequences for the world. Since her first appearance, she has mostly found employment through the renegade Albert Wesker. Despite discarding the identity of Ada Wong after the Raccoon City Incident, she is always referred to as such by Leon when they inevitably cross paths. Her occupation and morals are at odds with Leon, whom she grew to genuinely love despite duping him to do her bidding in Raccoon City.

In spite of her morally dubious qualities and allegiances, Ada is often considered a role model for women. Since her inception, she has steadily become arguably one of the most iconic female characters in video games for her looks, sexy personality, bravery, and strength. Her immense popularity has made her one of the most recurring supporting characters in the series, never too far behind Leon's widespread appearances.

* AdaptationalAngstUpgrade: A downplayed and justified variant in the 2019 Remake, as she is not as confident and witty as she was in the original due to her being less experienced as a spy in her younger years, while also showing more subtle signs of fear and distress when injured or in danger. Even then, she’s still much more stoic than Leon, Claire, and Sherry; Ada doesn’t externally display anywhere the amount of fear the other three show throughout the game.

Whereas she quietly ignored Leon after he took a bullet for her in the original, and only returned later to patch him up after dealing with Annette, Remake!Ada elected to bandage him up first before going after her target. While mildly annoyed, she appears to genuinely care for him this time around and also has the extra decency to leave him with her trench coat as a rudimentary blanket. Compared to her debut in the original Resident Evil 2, Ada is also notably more conflicted with using Leon to acquire the sample and even gives him several opportunities to back out.

* AndNowForSomeoneCompletelyDifferent: Much like in the original game, Ada is playable during certain sections of Resident Evil 2[='=]s Remake, which is also greatly expanded upon and emphasized distinctively with a gameplay shift focused on unorthodox puzzle solving.
* AnotherSideAnotherStory: Her side scenarios are usually extra content unlocked after completing the main game's scenario (this was formerly the case in 6, but a patch was released that allows the player to play her scenario from the get-go.)

* AloofAlly: She'll help you out if she can, but expect her to be gone the very second she's finished.
* AloofDarkHairedGirl: She's a beautiful, unapproachable Asian woman. Considering her line of work, it's unsurprising she carries herself in such a manner.
* AntiHero: She's a professional spy and has committed questionable actions, such as trying to acquire samples of the G-Virus and Las Plagas, but she constantly prioritizes Leon's well-being, and in 6, she's utterly disgusted with the actions of the BigBadDuumvirate and helps defeat them both.
* AscendedExtra: She started out as a password clue in the original game, before getting a proper introduction and characterization in the sequel.
* AwesomeButImpractical: Her default kit is this in The Mercenaries of 6 on most maps, where it is just terrible overall despite her Bowgun's great damage potential.
** Sure, aiming for headshots with the Bowgun gets you quick kills like nobody's business, and the Explosive bolts can deal with bigger enemies easily. But at the same time, the bolts themselves deal very mediocre damage outside of headshots and travel slowly along a very prominent arc, the latter easily leading to misses even at short range against stationary targets; this and its one-shot-wonder nature mean plenty of reloading during play, making dealing with mobs a big pain. Quickshots with the Bowgun have a lengthy animation, on top of pinning targets to either the floor or walls while also moving Ada away from them, causing no end of troubles when chaining combo kills. Additionally, Explosive bolts are very rare and have a long arming time.
** Her Ammo Box 50 has the biggest magazine size among [=SMGs=] and a rapid-fire rate. It also has very low accuracy, long reloads, and weak staggering power, making it woefully impractical against anything bigger than a dog or zombie outside of stunning them with quick shots. And since it's held at the hip, getting headshots is also rather irritating since aiming from a neutral position means you need to actively aim up a bit to get a headshot, while most shouldered guns are at the perfect level to get quick headshots the instant you begin aiming.

* BadassNormal: Possibly straight or subverted. In a world of bio-weapons, Ada is a normal human with exceptional skills that allow her to survive against all odds, but considering how often she is employed by people that can turn people into monsters, how often she has access to samples of the bio-weapons themselves, how much of her character is hidden in the shadows and how many characters that were supposed to die after fatal injuries end up having recovered and becoming stronger than ever because of off-screen "enhancements", some RE fans think she has indeed been enhanced with some viral strain herself.

* BeautyIsNeverTarnished: Very much averted in her Umbrella Chronicles story. Taking place very shortly after her maiming and near death at the hands of Mr. X/Birkin, Ada is shown to be covered in bloodied bandages and has a noticeable limp.

** Zigzagged in VideoGame/ResidentEvil6: she invokes it by claiming to only be helping Jake Muller and Sherry Birkin out because of "their parents' kindness to her". She subverts it in that this is a lie, as anyone familiar with previous games will know — Jake's dad Wesker employed her, but almost left her for dead in Raccoon City, and both of Sherry's parents took turns trying to kill her — and instead, she's just making an excuse for why she's helping.

* BigNo: Should her partner die in either her campaign or Mercenaries, she lets out an extremely distressed one which may seem uncharacteristic for her.

* BringMyRedJacket:
** The Leon B route of 2 ends with her being thrown around like a ragdoll and slammed into a control unit. Her injuries are so grevious she nearly ends up dead. Umbrella Chronicles shows just how extensive her injuries from 2 are. Most of her body is covered in bandages, including an eyepatch, her dress is torn in multiple places, and she has a noticeable limp the entire game.
** She wears a trench coat for the first half of 2[='s=] remake, but it doesn't take more than five minutes after she sheds it, showing her red cocktail dress, for her to end up with a piece of metal in her leg. Then she's shot. Then she falls down a BottomlessPit.

* CannotKillTheirLovedOnes: Ada is incapable of killing Leon, despite having been put in that position multiple times.
** In [=RE2=], the gun she uses to threaten him actually has no bullets in it, since she removed them beforehand.
** The 2 remake changes the situation slightly, in that now it's unknown whether or not Ada's gun is loaded. Regardless she is still unable to shoot Leon, even after he provokes her.
** At one point in 4 Leon begins choking her due to succumbing to the Plaga parasite in him. She struggles against him and only stabs him as a last resort. Even then, she stabbed him in the leg when she could've gotten him in the chest.
** Separate Ways shows that Wesker ordered her to kill Leon. Ada responded by completely ignoring those orders and going so far as to avoid Leon so Wesker couldn't force her to do it.

* ClearMyName: Averted. Despite being framed by the mastermind behind the events of Resident Evil 6, Ada doesn't set the records straight. In fact, she torches all evidence of Carla to make it stick.

* CombatStilettos: From 4 onwards. This was actually Trope in 2 wherein she wore flat shoes but played straight in the remake as her redesigned outfit has a pair of black heels. * DarkAndTroubledPast: In the manhua adaptation of [=RE2=], she grew up in a war-torn Asian country. She also was shown to have the IDidWhatIHadToDo type of mindset that she does now; when a boy had stolen a loaf of bread that she was planning to take, she took a shotgun and chased him to find that he had stolen it to care for his bedridden mother. She had briefly considered letting them live, but in the end, had chosen to kill them both and take the bread for herself. However, this adaptation is non-canon (deviating dramatically from canon to the point where it doesn't have much in common with the games, including magic, prophecies, other dimensions, and Leon's father turning out to be an Umbrella agent), and her canon backstory is still unrevealed, other than hints she was involved with a Chinese criminal syndicate.

* DeclarationOfProtection: She has more goals than just taking care of Leon, but that seems to be her most consistent motivation, and she's never really let him down.
* DefrostingIceQueen: Resident Evil 2 has Ada not caring too much for Leon's well-being and will ditch him whenever she can. Being sent to recover the G-Virus may also be a part of it. However, after Leon takes the bullet that was meant for Ada, she starts to warm up to him and she tosses down a rocket launcher while he's fighting a mutated Mr. X. The remake has her acting a lot more harsh towards Leon as she complains about saving him after she told him to get out of the city. She does eventually warm up to him and compared to the original game, she's a bit nicer overall.
* DisneyVillainDeath: Rare anti-heroic example. Due to the numerous changes made in the 2019 remake of 2, Ada met her apparent demise by falling down the central NEST elevator shaft. It didn't stick.

** Ada is a professional spy known for having worked for organizations such as the Umbrella Corporation; as such, she has no qualms about killing if she must. However, even Ada takes issue and expresses nothing but disgust over the actions of the BigBadDuumvirate in VideoGame/ResidentEvil6, going so far as putting Carla out of her misery, attempting to do the same to Simmons, and putting a final stop to Carla's experiments by torching her lab at the end of her scenario]]. * TheGreatestStoryNeverTold: Her actions during VideoGame/ResidentEvil6 are this. Of all the playable characters in this story, Ada is the one who ensures that the worst of Carla's plots never come to pass and she even quietly ensures the heroes' survival, particularly Leon's. The fact she saved the world will never be known to the public since Ada's job relies on her anonymity.

* HandicappedBadass: To an insane degree, as shown in Umbrella Chronicles. Carla Radames publicly declared herself as Ada Wong of Neo-Umbrella and has antagonized Chris Redfield, who would likely label the true Ada Wong as a terrorist to the world at large. Ada has also destroyed all evidence of Carla's existence in order to protect her own identity — evidence that could have cleared her name. Fortunately, Ada has always worked in the shadows, so public opinion matters little to her.

* ICanStillFight: In Umbrella Chronicles, her scenario is about her fighting her way out of the doomed Raccoon City, despite being covered in wounds from barely surviving her wounds in Leon's story in 2.

* NervesOfSteel: One of her most inspiring traits is her strength of will; Ada is not a woman easily shaken. It’s most noticeable in the remake of 2 when compared to Leon and Claire, even as a new spy, not once does she ever show external fear of the zombies lunging at her or Mr. X chasing her down the hallway, only exasperatedly replying how much of a persistent bastard he is. It's only ever really subverted in her ending in 6 when she emotionally breaks down while destroying Carla's laboratory.

In spite of this, she shows up a short time later to throw Leon a rocket launcher and makes her escape from Raccoon City. How she survived, in either case, remains a mystery, as suits the woman.
* UnwillingSuspension: This happens to her twice.
** In 4 when Leon finds her, she is tied up and dangling helplessly. And because her wrists are behind her back, she cannot free herself and requires Leon to shoot the rope down to save her.
** In Damnation after she was taken captive by Svetlana's guards, she is tied up by the hook with her wrists hanging above her head. Fortunately, this allows her to free herself, using a blade hidden under her shoe and cuts the rope loose.

* VillainessesWantHeroes: Ada's attitude towards heart throb Leon S. Kennedy, Ada is an amoral FemmeFataleSpy who will happily hurt, manipulate and backstab anyone including Leon himself sometimes. But WordOfGod says that Ada’s one redeeming trait and weakness is that beneath the mountain of lies and betrayals, she genuinely loves Leon and will help him out even potentially jeopardizing her own safety.

But WordOfGod says that Ada’s Ada's one redeeming trait and weakness is that that, beneath the mountain of lies and betrayals, she genuinely loves Leon and will help him out -- even potentially jeopardizing her own safety.

* WhatYouAreInTheDark: Despite working for people willing to use bioterror for profit or to take over the world and her ChronicBackstabbingDisorder, every time Ada is truly alone, she does something that makes it clear she is against bioterrorism.

* WorstAid: Leon was shot trying to defend Ada. As thanks for saving her life, Ada attempted to patch him up… by putting the bandages over his clothes. (Although the mistake is very probably on the game designers' side. Leon does get better after she does that. Also, hardware limitations at the time wouldn't have allowed for more accurate first aid.) The remake has her actually heal him correctly.
