** [[spoiler:During the attack on the Pleiades Watchtower by all three of the Gluttony siblings, Roy winds up always confronting Reid Astrea's resurrected spirit inside the second floor test and attempting to eat his name, even in multiple scenarios that Subaru suffers through using Return By Death to try and find a solution to their problem. This is aided by the fact Reid ''lets'' Roy eat him, as his soul is too powerful for Roy to fully contain and results in [[AssimilationBackfire his flesh and blood body getting possessed and transmogrified into a copy of Reid's own]], essentially bringing the legendary swordsman BackFromTheDead and allowing him to roam the tower free of the restrictions of the second floor trial, with Reid interfering with Subaru's group in multiple loops for [[ItAmusedMe his own interests]]. This not only brings an additional danger to Subaru's group that results in them getting wiped out multiple times, it also violated one of the watchtower's five rules in the process, which triggers Shaula's command to enforce the rules, involuntarily transforming her into a rampaging giant scorpion that priorities attacks Subaru's group, depriving them of a valuable ally and forcing a ''further'' obstacle for them to overcome]].

* OhCrap: [[spoiler:When Subaru manages to destroy his Lion's heart connection to Emilia and forces him under a time limitation for keeping his authority active, which now leaves him in incredible pain to do so, he has only a few seconds to process the reality that he's vulnerable before Emilia starts subjecting him to a ''much-deserved'' NoHoldsBarredBeatdown. Regulus cravenly begs for an honourable duel with the knight who stepped forward to defend his liege's honour instead of her, figuring Subaru is an easier target to handle, and he [[HopeSpot accepts]]... only to pass the offer to the ''other'' knight present at the scene, [[WorldsStrongestMan Reinhard]]. Regulus knows he's a dead man at that point]].

* LoveFreak: Like Petelgeuse.

* {{Synchronization}}: Since she can share senses such as distress or pain, if anyone dies within the effected area she can force others within the same area to die the same way. Also if she's hurt the damage will transfer to anyone she connected with while reducing hers unless exceeds a certain threshold.
* VillainessesWantHeroes: A dark variant towards [[spoiler: Subaru. After he absorbed Petelguese's Authority and they encounter each other, she believes that he is Petelguese and attempts to claim him as hers.]] While not as terrifying, this is treated in a similar way to Satella's obsession with Subaru: It's not sexy fanservice, it's terrifying {{Squick}}, made even more upsetting by how Sirius is an adult and Subaru is a high schooler.

* DirtyCoward: The second he loses his overwhelming advantage of being able to freely use his invincibility, he is quick to beg for mercy and give up,
* DiscOneFinalBoss: [[spoiler: His defeat at approximately the end of the first-third of the story marks a major victory for the heroes, as Regulus was the undeniably strongest active Authority user they have had to deal with and his defeat marked the climax of the crucial battle for Priestella]].

* BloodyMurder: She 'tests' Subaru and Crusch by transforming parts of her body into lethal black dragon blood. She refers to it as if it were actual Dragon blood, and exposes them to it to verify how 'worthy' they are of her gift. Though Crusch is rendered bedridden, in horrific pain and gradually getting weaker from the Toxic substance, Subaru apparently adapts to it without issue, [[spoiler: save that his shredded right leg from meeting Regulus apparently regrows the damaged Flesh, now dyed jet-black and apparently slightly stronger from the transformation. Subaru later discovers that he can somehow absorb the cursed blood in Crusch through touch, though the rate of transfer is heavily unequal against the amount he takes from her, and the process is greatly painful for him]].
* TheDreaded: [[spoiler: The fact that Meili went as far as asking the very people she tried to kill to protect her shows just how terrifying "Mother" truly is. Even Elsa felt nothing but fear towards her boss.]]
* HateSink: She is worst than any member of the witch cult. She torments her victims by tranforming into pieces of flesh, five feet sized flies, and also turned her victim into a black dragon to trick Subaru and Crush into thinking he was Capella and had him murdered without remorse. The worst part about her is that she is a pure sadist who is in complete control of her actions without being a pyschopath like most of the members of the Witch Cult who are insane by either falling brainwashed or lost their sense of humanity.

* KillItWithFire: In her dragon transformation she can expel out black flames with her dragon breath which consumes anything it touches and isn't affected by water.

* YouHaveFailedMe: She's known to haver zero tolerance for failure, and she might even use her Authority to turn those that fail her into [[AndIMustScream piles of meat for the rest of eternity]]. [[spoiler: This is precisely why Meili, after both failing her mission and losing Elsa, begged the Emilia Camp to keep her as a prisoner, rather than let her return to the organization.]]

* ReligionOfEvil: {{Played with}} - their initial description and the behaviour of Petelgeuse's faction of the Cult largely play the trope straight, worshipping Satella and seeking to free her from her prison, consequences be damned. What exactly they are hoping to gain from this is unclear, but at least Petelgeuse personally seems to believe he will be "rewarded" for freeing his beloved Witch. However, as more factions of the Cult are showcased, it becomes clear that Petelgeuse's zealots are more of an exception than the rule. In general, the other Archbishops and their subordinates seem to mostly enjoy the benefits that possesing Authorities and Gospels brings them, and only carry out the orders appearing in the Gospels because they believe them to be guides towards personal success. None of the others care for Satella, some even actively despise her, and only see their membership as a convenient means to their own ends. [[spoiler: And there are hint that the Cult may not have been evil in the beginning...]]
* {{Seers}}: All of the members possess Gospels which, to some limited extent, can predict the future. The extent to which they follow their writings vary, but in any case this makes them more dangerous, as it can make them prone towards launching suicidally confident attacks or give them an edge over their unsuspecting targets, not to mention serving as the primary means of recognition, organisation and cooperation. However, Roswaal calls the Gospels "defective", [[spoiler:at least compared to his own version,]] which might mean that the Gospels do not, in fact, predict the future very accurately or not at all, but might instead be serving as something else entirely.

* LightIsNotGood: Unlike the other Archbishops who wear dark clothes, Regulus wears a white outfit that perfectly matches his white hair. He's still evil just like everyone else in the Witch Cult.

* BigBadEnsemble: Regulus, Capella, Sirius and the Gluttonies collectively fulfill the role of ArcVillain for the fifth arc. The heroes initially assumen they are dealing with a BigBadDuumvirate, but it turns out each Archbishop has their own goals and they barely tolerate each other. They have some sort of non-aggression pact to ensure nobody gets in the way of the others, but that's the extent they are willing to work with each other.

* HateSink: She is worst than any member of the witch cult. She torments her victims by tranforming into pieces of flesh, five feet sized flies & also turned her victim into a black dragon to trick Subaru & Crush into thinking he was Capella & had him murdered without remorse. The worst part about her is that she is a pure sadist who is in complete control of her actions without being a pyschopath like most of the members of the Witch Cult who are insane by either falling brainwashed or lost their sense of humanity.

* ShadowArchetype: Regulus enters the picture after Subaru gets his CharacterDevelopment in Arc 3, and does a good job showing what the boy could have become if he didn't learn his lesson. His EntitledToHaveYou attitude is Subaru's own attitude towards Emilia early in that arc taken to its logical extreme. His constant monologues about how he isn't asking for much and people should let him do what he wants resembles Subaru hating everyone who didn't agree with his plan to save Emilia and be a hero, except that while Subaru was letting his inferiority complex and anger cloud his mind, Regulus has deluded himself into honestly believing he is the only good person around and everyone else is a jerk. Their MotorMouth tendencies are directly compared by Emilia: Subaru talks a lot and can be annoying, but he still does his best to show he cares and is trying to help, while Regulus talsk non-stop because he doesn't care what anyone else has to say.

* PsychopathicManchild: Regulus has the emotional maturity of a toddler, and throws a violent temper tantrum whenever he's not given exactly what he wants or is displeased in any way, all while ranting about how horrible the offending party is. [[spoiler:It's implied that this is at least partially due to a century of complete invincibility, with nothing that stop him from taking what he wants, has completely warped his view of the world.]]

* PsychopathicManchild: Regulus has the emotional maturity of a toddler, and throws a violent temper tantrum whenever he's not given exactly what he wants or is inconvenienced in any way, all while ranting about how horrible the offending party is.

* FauxAffablyEvil: Regulus constantly claims to be a reasonable and kind person, and his demeanor is superficially polite and serene. However, soon after his introduction, it quickly becomes clear that he's a psychotic brat who utterly flips his lid the moment anyone even so much as slightly inconveniences or displeases him.

* DissonantSerenity: In his introduction, he acts very nonchalant just after he disintegrated an entire carriage and most of the people inside by simply standing on their way.

* SpannerInTheWorks: During the aftermath of the Witch Cult's attack on Pricilla, Subaru is initially relieved that nobody died or was lost from the fighting, [[spoiler: though not everybody survived entirely [[AnArmAndALeg unscathed]]]], only to panic when he's told about Roy's existence, realising that there was another person running around with the ability to Eat names and erase the victims from everybody's minds but his, meaning his allies wouldn't even know they'd lost some members. Sure enough, [[spoiler: though he's not as badly off as Rem, Julius's name was also eaten, erasing him from Anastasia's mind]].
