* RecurringElement: They serve as analogues to the dangerous, threatening powers in the plot, much like how Kyogre/Groudon/Rayquaza and Dialga/Palkia/Giratina do in their respective games. They also could be a nod to the [[VideoGame/PokemonBlack2AndWhite2 Pokéstar studios plots]] and the [[VideoGame/PokemonMysteryDungeonGatesToInfinity later]] [[VideoGame/PokemonSuperMysteryDungeon games]] of the ''VideoGame/PokemonMysteryDungeon'' sub-series which had [[EldritchAbomination eldritch enemies]] faced in battles.
* TheSpook: With Pokémon, you're given a Pokédex classification, the type(s), and a height and weight. Ultra Beasts apparently have none of these attributes, which adds to their sense of "wrongness".
* StarfishAliens: Being neither human or Pokémon, they seem to fall into this.
* YouAreNumberSix: They each have a serial number assigned to them along with a normal name with the exception of UB-01.

No one knows if it has emotions, but for some reason, it moves like a young girl. However, the truth about the creature is that it is parasitic creature. When it finds a fitting host, it injects them with neurotoxins what boosts their natural abilities to their fullest form and make them act wild in hopes that it will make them protect the Ultra Beast.
----
* DishingOutDirt: As its body is made out of glass-like substance, it is classified as part Rock-type.
