* AxCrazy: He's arguably even more unhinged than Zalgo. At least Zalgo can maintain a affable nature, fake it may be. He killed Tails, Amy, and Knuckles for laughs and has tortured trillions for years. This is best shown when he [[spoiler: murders Lara's brother]] ForTheEvulz.

* Fantastic Racism: Maintains his hatred for mortals, insisting they are vermin who solely exist to be toyed with and enslaved.

* TheFriendNobodyLikes: None of his teammates are particularly fond of him, which he doesn't seem to care about.
* GalacticConqueror: He has enslaved over a hundred worlds.

* ItsAllAboutMe: So much so that when Zalgo gains the multiverse portal, he is quick to play TheDragon and throws his lot to him. However, he tells the Proxies that his loyalty isn't to Zalgo or the Pit, but to himself only and he is just bidding his time so his "master" can show weakness to turn on him.

* PowersDoTheFighting: It's almost like his fighting style. Whenever confronted with opposition, Zalgo just calmly sits or stands as he uses his wide variety of powers to effortlessly slaughter forces with ease.

* SmugSnake: Although he is undeniably one of the most powerful characters in the series, he underestimates everyone else. He constantly and publicly belittles his loyal minions while showing everyone else less respect than even that. He is so sure of his victory and minion's loyalty, and so confident in the belief that his immensely strong demonic abilities render him essentially untouchable, that he is utterly blindsided and left puzzled when his henchmen disobey him or his enemies gain the upper hand.

He raises his erstwhile son to hate himself, puts him through death courses on a daily basis, and keeps him locked away from sight to prevent being associated with him. When Zalgo kills Slenderman's mother, Slenderman realized Zalgo had to be stopped, calls him out on his abusive parenting, and embarrasses Zalgo in a fight.

* BadassInCharge: Zalgo calls the shots.

He is the spawn of eons of {{EldritchAbomination}}s but, unlike those guys that clearly treated their subjects with somewhat respect, Zalgo betrayed and deceived the entire Monster race. Besides, his conquest of the world seems to be a direct parallel to the apocalypse, and the Pit is a blatantly obvious parallel to Hell.
** Many episodes seems to emphasize this point further since there are malevolent cults both in the Dark World and Human universe that worship Zalgo and treat him as a benevolent deity.

!!Z'algatoth (AKA Zalgo)
[[quoteright:350:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zalgo_by_comickit_d8trl89.png]]

Father of Slenderman and series {{Big Bad}}. Zalgo is a malevolent and mysterious entity of chaos and evil that lives in a palace of tortured glass, served by legions of monsters forged from the tears of the undead, and each one clad in armor carved from the concentrated suffering of grieving mothers. He also is said to live within all mankind, waiting for the thin glass wall within them to crack, so that he may take over. His real name is Z'algatoth and he has a cult of followers who wish to bring about his coming.
----
* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: There is no one who truly likes Zalgo. This is more evident in "Something Zalgo This Way Comes", where it's established that the only reason his henchmen follows him is that they're either brainwashed or afraid of being tortured or killed. Shadowlurker only follows him out of fear, and X only uses Zalgo's resources as means to take over new universes. Not even ''the Rake'', a psychotic monster who mutilates children for fun, likes Zalgo. Hell, not even Earth's ''Satan'' likes Zalgo and considers him too dangerous.
* AbusiveDad: UpToEleven. When Slenderman was a child, Zalgo put him through TrainingFromHell and had him beaten within an inch of his life on a daily basis.
* AbusiveParents: It's implied his parents were neglectful of him.
* AffectionateNickname: BEN calls him "flame-head-demon-guy" and the High Priestess of Zalgo sometimes calls him "Emperor Z".
* TheAgeless: He is over a billion years old.
* TheAntichrist: Not only is he immensely powerful, but he was also born from generations of Satanic monsters who ruled over the Pit for centuries.
* AliensAreBastards: He is a demon-alien hybrid.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: Enderman spends a lot of his time constantly complaining about the fact Zalgo has a much larger army, more resources, and is more powerful than him.
* AndYourLittleDogToo: He loves threatening other's loved ones to get a rise out of others.
* ArchEnemy: To Slenderman and [[GodOfGood Aton]].
* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: He is a size-shifter, so he can turn into any size he wants.
* AxCrazy: He has gleefully destroyed millions of planets by massacring the inhabitants and enslaving the survivors, all ForTheEvulz.
* BadassBaritone
* BadassGrandpa: He's been around since B.C, and is still able to conquer and destroy entire universes.
* BadBoss: Abuses and kills his henchmen at the drop of a hat; reasons varying from "[[BlofeldPloy needing an example]], [[GoLookAtTheDistraction avoiding an awkward conversation]], and "[[ItAmusedMe because I wanted to]]".
** According to Shadow Lurker, he doesn't pay his minions or associates at all since he thinks ''allowing them to live'' is payment enough.
* BerserkButton: If his henchman fail a mission, [[ShootTheMessenger Zalgo's response is predictable.]]
* BigBad: Easily the most powerful, dangerous and {{overarching villain}} in the series.
* BreathWeapon: Zalgo can breathe some type of lava substance (possibly blood?) from his mouth: [[spoiler: He uses it to corrupt Lara in "Legends of the Multiverse"]]
* ButForMeItWasTuesday: He doesn't even remember [[spoiler: cursing Mr. Widemouth when he encounters him again.]]
* CardCarryingVillain: Zalgo takes pleasure in his villainy and calls himself names such as "The Father of All Darkness".
* ChaoticEvil
* ChildHater: Zalgo ''really'' hates children because of their purity.
* TheCorrupter: Among others, [[spoiler: he was the one who drove Jeff insane.]]
* CreateYourOwnVillain: He created several of these, both for the protagonists and himself.
** [[spoiler: ''Blast to the Past part 3'' reveals he was the one who drove Jeff insane, drowned BEN, corrupted Uncle Johnny to rape and murder Sally, and inspired Jenny to take Eyeless Jack to the Cult of Chernabog]]. So basically, Zalgo created his ''own'' nemesis'.
** He also created (or possibly summoned, it wasn't made very clear) X to expand his evil empire.
* CreepyMonotone: In episodes showing him in the past, he always talks in a quiet, creepy whisper that always carries an undertone of menace and practically drips with barely concealed hate.
* DarkerAndEdgier: Easily the darkest character in the series.
* DarkIsEvil: He has a black body.
* DealWithTheDevil: He has made deals with many of Slenderman's enemies that he will most likely not honor.
* TheDreaded: Saying his name is enough to send both Earth and Dark World beings in panic. Even Enderman, the Rake, the Stiltwalker, and the Crooked Man are afraid of him.
* DiabolicalMastermind: He claims to be a genius, but most of it comes from his uncanny ability to manipulate others to his will.
* EldritchAbomination: He is an intergalactic demon who has destroyed many planets and enslaved galaxies.
* TheEmperor: The supreme emperor of all evil.
* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: Everyone in the Pit calls him "(the) Emperor" or some other variant.
* EvilerThanThou: He has proved this many times to Enderman, Mancala, the Rake, etc.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: One of the reasons he hates Lara, aside from her being human, is because she cares about others.
* EvilCounterpart: Acts as one to Aton, full stop. Both are the series' GreaterScopeVillain and GreaterScopeParagon, respectively. Similarly, both rule over a dimension: while Aton rules over the Overworld, a substitute for Heaven, Zalgo rules over the hellish Pit, a clear surrogate to Hell. Both are fighting for a cause: Zalgo thrives on spreading despair and terror; Aton inspires hope and fights for a better world without Zalgo. Both have their fatal flaws: Aton is an ignorant {{manchild}} and Zalgo is StupidEvil, to the point that it makes him predictable and even is a weakness for him.
* EvilFeelsGood: His defining characteristic. He loves all the atrocities and depraved things that aliens and humans alike are capable of. Zalgo is willing to overlook attacks against him and his army so long as they're sufficiently "evil". When Tails Doll is betrayed and captured, Zalgo just ordered him imprisoned rather than killed, out of respect for the city destroying plot that had just been foiled.
* EvilIsBigger: Varies. Sometimes he can be several times the size of a ''planet'', other times he's at least 7 feet tall. Being a size-shifter, Zalgo can change his height to whatever he desires.
* EvilIsEasy: For Zalgo, committing atrocities is as easy as breathing, with no regard for those hurt by them. He even claims that his cruel methods make losing more bearable.
* EvilIsPetty: He's a [[TheSociopath sociopathic]] [[AxCrazy lunatic]] that desires to see the omniverse burn, but even with his grandiose ambitions that doesn't mean he won't try to get under your skin. At which point he even planned on using the prospect of rape and killing other's loved ones as a JackBauerInterrogationTechnique just because.
* EvilLaugh: A very genuine and demonic one.
* EvilPlan: To destroy all multiverses and rewrite them in his image. [[spoiler: He actually temporarily succeeds in this in "Legends of the Multiverse".]]
* EyeScream: [[spoiler: When Lara stabs him in the eye with the sword of Splendorman in "Legends of the Multiverse".]]
* FangsAreEvil: He has rows of fangs in his mouths.
* FantasticRacism: Zalgo and his forces hold nothing but absolute contempt for the mortal race. Zalgo sometimes wouldn't give them the pleasure of forcibly becoming a minion and would sentence them to slavery with very little food or water.
* FatalFlaw: His pride and arrogance. Both have proved this multiple times. Although considering Zalgo's InvincibleVillain status [[spoiler: up until "Legends of the Multiverse"]], Zalgo's arrogance wasn't necessarily without justification.
* FauxAffablyEvil: He can be fairly polite and civilized, but it's all a facade.
* FinalBoss: WordOfGod states that the FinalBattle with Zalgo will signal the series finale.
* {{Foil}}:
** Lara's complete antithesis. Lara is a middle-class teenage girl; Zalgo is a wealthy demonic alien. Lara is introspective; Zalgo is flamboyant. Lara acts on impulse; Zalgo is a chessmaster. Lara is associated with the color green and orange; Zalgo loves coating himself in black and red. Lara is secretive and humble in her heroic duties, while Zalgo brags about his achievements. Zalgo is not above victimizing his own allies to get what he wants; Lara is willing to give her own life to save and protect others.
** Also serves as one to [[GodOfGood Aton]]. Aton believes life to be beautiful, Zalgo views life as meaningless. Aton views the citizens of the universe as flawed, yet beautiful creatures, Zalgo views them as creatures who solely exist to be toyed with and slaughtered. Aton is an all-powerful GodOfGood, Zalgo is an omnipotent GodOfEvil. Aton rules over the heavenly and beautiful Overworld, Zalgo dominates over the hellish and disgusting Pit. Aton commands an army of angels, Zalgo commands an army of the tortured. Even their signature colors, [[WhiteAndGoldAreDivine white and gold]] and [[RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver red and black]] conflict each other.
* ForceChoke: When his minions report back that Mr. Widemouth had foiled their evil plot Zalgo does this to them and watches them dies in satisfaction.
* ForTheEvulz
* GalacticConquerer: He currently owns over a million universes. And by "own" we mean slaughtered their leaders and took what's theirs.
* GenocideBackfire: He brutal betrayal of the Monster race caused many to realize the true nature of him and lead many to oppose his rule.
* GigglingVillain: Boasts some pretty impressive cackles. In the "Blast to the Past" episodes, he rarely laughs, though it's clear from his voice that he is enjoying himself.
* GodOfEvil: He is an incredibly powerful demonic overlord who even Satan himself [[EvenEvilHasStandards deems too dangerous]].
* GoodColorsEvilColors: Main color is black, indicating his evil personality. Slenderman also wears black, in other words, the color of the "evil". But the truth is... compared to Zalgo, that guy's practically a hero.
** In a much straighter example, Zalgo's primary colors, red and black, is dissimilar with [[GodOfGood Aton's]] white and gold.
* GreaterScopeVillain: He is the entire cause of the story existence. Aside from being Slenderman's father, [[spoiler: he was the one who caused Jeff to go insane, aided in the drowning of BEN, cursed Eyeless Jack, created the Unwanted House Guest, and tortured Hoody to insanity. It's implied he was responsible for the plight of ''all'' the Proxies.]]
* HateSink: He's a cowardly {{Jerkass}} who, among other things, [[spoiler: turned the once-good Mr. Widemouth into a hideous beast]], horribly abused and indoctrinated Slenderman to become evil, and killed his wife for showing affection for her son. And throughout all this, he's actually convinced himself that he's done nothing truly wrong and everything that's happened to him is Slenderman's fault. Arguably his most heinous action is in the "Legends of the Multiverse" five-parter, where he [[spoiler: murders the Unwanted House Guest and his girlfriend, enslaves the entire multiverse, destroys reality itself, and taunts Lara using her deceased brother as an alternate form.]]
* HeroKiller:
** He murdered Slenderman's mother by making her die an old slave simply because she wanted to protect Slenderman from Zalgo's abuse.
** He also killed all of [[spoiler:Human!Widemouth's friends, who were all military soldiers sent to stop Zalgo from attacking their home.]]
** In "Legends of the Multiverse", [[spoiler:he sics X on the Unwanted House Guest, resulting in his brutal death. He also later successfully kills and absorbs Slenderman to achieve ultimate power (although Slenderman was later revived)]]
* HornsOfVillainy: He possesses long, detachable horns.
* InsistentTerminology: "I am '''Lord''' Zalgo, yes."
* IShallTauntYou: Zalgo tends to taunt and belittle his enemies (and allies) to make them feel insignificant.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Zalgo's only concern is that the universe and everyone in it doesn't revolve around him.
* ItsPersonal: Him murdering Slenderman's mother is what causes Slenderman to try to kill him.
* JerkWithAHeartOfJerk: The only time Zalgo comes across as being sympathetic in a superficial regard is when he rescues a young Slenderman from a group of hydras — which is subsequently undone by the fact that he views Slenderman as expendable if it means he can have a more powerful heir to the throne.
* JoinOrDie: He gives the Proxies multiple opportunities to join his army.
-->'''Zalgo''': With me, you would live like a god. Yes, you could have anything. Or not, you could choose to suffer and die.
* JustToyingWithThem: When he fought the Gods of Wind and Fire, he opened the fight by pinning them against the wall with telekinesis, which they were unable to escape until he let go of them. He didn't even ''need'' to fight them and simply could have teleported in Aton's throne room, he just wanted to.
* KarmaHoudiniWarranty: [[spoiler: e was able to stay alive for four story arcs until finally being presumably killed in "Legends of the Multiverse". He's more than likely alive but given that the Pit is destroyed, his army disbanded, and he has been reduced to a weakened form, the trope still applies.]]
* KickTheDog: He ''really'' loves doing this.
** Anytime he mistreats the Shadowlurker. The poor guy is nothing but loyal to Zalgo and still Zalgo abuses him for laughs.
** In "Remnants", [[spoiler: Zalgo attacked and decimated the land of Oliver Ubiquitous (AKA Mr. Widemouth). Even as the villain decimated all his fellow warriors and loyal subjects, the man bravely went to destroy Zalgo, ready to battle for the last time and die as a warrior. However, as punishment, Zalgo turned the man into a hideous creature and imprisoned him in the Pit, but not before forcing him to watch as he slaughtered everyone he loved and destroyed his beloved kingdom.]]
** Pulls a '''major''' dick move in "Quest". [[spoiler: It is eventually revealed Zalgo was the one who caused Jeff to go insane. If this wasn't enough, after finding out Jeff had begun to miss his old life and family, Zalgo begins taunting Jeff, stating that's Zalgo possesses the souls of Jeff's parents and his beloved brother, Liu (in the form of a blue box). Zalgo states in order to get them back along with his old life, Zalgo has Jeff complete of dangerous obstacles around the Pit in order to destroy an object known as "The Oculus". After Jeff destroys the object, he demands the souls that Zalgo promised. However, in a surprise twist, Zalgo reveals that the object he told Jeff to destroy was actually the souls of Jeff's own family and not the Oculus (which Zalgo had already destroyed decades ago). When Jeff asks Zalgo why he did this, Zalgo states he did it to teach Jeff a lesson that no matter how hard he tries, Jeff will never get his family back, nor the innocent life he used to live. Zalgo then teleports away, leaving Jeff in a state of emotional pain and anger.]]
** [[spoiler:As if killing the Unwanted House Guest wasn't bad enough, he and X also forced UHG to kill his own girlfriend, just cuz.]]
* KickThemWhileTheyAreDown: When Jeff is wounded by him in [[spoiler: "To Boldly Flee"]], Zalgo steps on Jeff's open wound simply to hear them scream.
* KillItWithFire: He loves setting his henchmen on fire when they fail him. Aside from that he makes a hobby out of literally setting worlds on fire.
* KlingonPromotion: He became ruler of the Pit by murdering his father.
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: A master of this trope.
* KnightOfCerebus: You want to know whenever an episode is about to get serious, personal, and dark? Whenever Zalgo gets involved personally.
* LackOfEmpathy: Everything around him solely exists to be toyed with and murdered, nothing more.
* LastVillainStand: [[spoiler: In "Legends of the Multiverse', upon being cornered by the Proxies in his own lair, and realizing he has a very good chance of dying, Zalgo completely unleashes his power, constantly shape-shifting, Jeff's brother Liu, a monster made of water, and every illusion he can (Slenderman himself, the Stiltwalker, the Unwanted House Guest), in a final attempt to separate and crush the Proxies. It doesn't work, but it gives him enough time — even as he is slowly falling apart and his universe unravels — to escape back to the Pit.]]
* LaughablyEvil: He mostly uses it to lure his enemies into a false sense of security.
* LaughingMad: [[spoiler: When he destroys the multiverse in "Legends of the Multiverse".]]
* LovesTheSoundOfScreaming: He absolutely treasures the sound of his victim's screams.
* MindRape: He does this to several people including Alice Liddel, Slenderman, Mr. Widemouth, Sally, Natalie Clockwork, and Eyeless Jack.
* MookMaker: A prominent ability he used to create X and half of his demonic minions.
* MoreTeethThanTheOsmondFamily: He has mouths all over his body filled with sharp rows of teeth.
* MultiversalConqueror: In "Legends of the Multiverse", he utterly dominated well over a million multiverses, gaining over ''centillion'' new henchmen.
* MurderIsTheBestSolution: The murder of thousands to ensure his goals are more easy to accomplish? '''YES!!'''
* NearVillainVictory: [[spoiler: "Legends of the Multiverse" is easily the closest Zalgo has ever come to winning; He flat-out succeeds in destroying all known multiverses, recreating them to be hellish wastelands, kidnaps and brainwashes Lara to be his next demonic henchwoman, betrays Mancala, and becomes a nigh-omnipotent force of nature. He is ultimately thwarted and utterly humiliated by the Proxies, and all universes are restored but it was still pretty impressive.]]
* NightmareFuelStationAttendant: He delivers a fair share of NightmareFuel whenever he's around.
* NonActionBigBad: Subverted. Zalgo mostly has his minions do his dirty work, but when his job as emperor gets too boring, Zalgo finds enjoyment in slaughtering others and taking planets on his own.
* ObviouslyEvil: ''JUST LOOK AT HIM!!!''
* OffingTheOffspring: He has killed at least one of his two children.
* OmnicidalManiac: See EvilPlan above.
* OneManArmy: Zalgo regularly decimates entire armies (ranging from the occasional small fleet of rebels to an entire alien task-force), and has conquered other universes, all with ease.
* OrcusOnHisThrone: He typically has X, his minions, and Shadowlurker do his dirty work for him.
* OverarchingVillain: To save your time, he is basically the entire reason the series exists.
* PetTheDog: A partial example. Even as a tyrannical monarch, Zalgo is pretty casual with those who respect him. Of course, this isn't saying much, considering he still sees you as inferior or a subordinate.
* PhysicalGod: He's an immortal, divine demon with immense magical powers, and he can only be killed by the power of other literal Gods/Demi-Gods like Thor, Odin, Hachkis, Slenderman, Mr. Widemouth, and Aton himself.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: He enjoys making racist jokes towards mortals, and takes pleasure in insulting them in the most creative way possible.
* PsychopathicManChild: Claims to be a sophisticated tyrant, but his personality is more like that of a bored rich kid who gets off on shooting civilians.
* RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver: His entire color scheme is red and black.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: He's actually very pro-active for the Lord of all evil, crushing thousands of oppositions with ease for instance.
* {{Sadist}}: He clearly enjoys his killings and ColdBloodedTorture, along with destroying planets and joking about the lives he's ruined. He is also known for being a masochist, although in non-sexual way; he's not only enjoy inflicting pains towards his victims, but also enjoys some kind of retaliation from his enemies.
* {{Satan}}: He is the Dark World's version of the Devil. He is the spawn of eons of {{EldritchAbomination}}s but, unlike those guys that clearly treated their subjects with somewhat respect, Zalgo betrayed and deceived the entire Monster race. Basically, he is the living embodiment of evil, and is so powerful and monstrous that almost everyone fears and loathes him, including other villains.
* SelfMadeOrphan: He murdered his mother and father by burning them to death in the bowels of the Pit. He also killed his sister and uncle. He also contemplated murdering his brother, Sexual Offenderman, just because.
* SignatureMove: Loves to shape-shift an awful lot.
* SlasherSmile: He does this frequently and it usually signals that something bad is about to happen.
* SmugSuper: He is one of the most powerful beings in the multiverse and enjoys showing off his power.
* TheSociopath: Zalgo only cares about expanding his empire, and making as many people as miserable as possible ForTheEvulz. While he is an alien demon, he still has traits of what a sociopath would look like in real life. He has a charming, friendly facade behind his sadism and cruelty. Furthermore, he's very manipulative and calculating, knowing enough about human emotions to manipulate them.
* SoftSpokenSadist: At least until he gets angry.
* SquishyWizard: Zalgo has no CombatTentacles, unlike his sons, relying exclusively on his magical abilities. However, this trope only applies to his lack of physical attacks; his magical projectile based attacks are nothing to sneeze at, his lightspeed reflexes makes him damn near impossible to event ag in a fight, he has good durability/defense, and his healing abilities can heal his wounded henchmen (or, of course, [[ItsAllAboutMe himself]]).
* StrawNihilist: He claims life is meaningless unless he is the ruler.
* SuperpowerLottery: Let's see..
** {{Immortality}}
** {{Shapeshifting}}
** EyeBeams
** SuperSpeed
** SuperStrength
** {{Teleportation}}
** [[MindOverMatter Telekinesis]]
** {{Healing Factor}}
** [[MesACrowd Duplication]]
** {{Necromancy}}
** {{Reality Warping}}
* SupervillainLair: He lives in his hellish throne room in the Pit.
* TakeOverTheWorld: He has already taken over hundreds of universes. [[MultiversalConqueror He is now seeking to dominate all known realities.]]
* ToCreateAPlaygroundForEvil: His main goal is to destroy reality itself and then recreate it in his image. [[spoiler: He succeeds in this in "Legends of the Multiverse", leaving a black void that he decides to fill. And when he does... well... Let's just say it isn't pretty. SugarBowl went right out the window on this one.]]
* ToThePain: Enjoys doing this to the damned souls of the Pit.
* UltimateEvil: He is the source of all evil in the Dark World.
* TheUnfettered: Nothing will stop him from achieving his goals, his men, family, and empire are all expendable.
* VillainEpisode: "Blast to the Past Part 3 and 5" and "Remnants" feature him as a main character.
* VillainRespect: He acknowledges Aton as being the only being that is almost able to match his superiority.
* WalkingWasteland: Where Zalgo goes, chaos and death follow.
* WeCanRuleTogether: He never stops to insist on having the Proxies join his side.
* HellIsThatNoise: The demonic high-pitched screaming noise that happens whenever Zalgo teleports or flies away.
* WouldHitAGirl: [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil In more than one way.]]
* WouldHurtAChild:
** For starters, he was horribly abusive to Slenderman during his youth.
** He had absolutely no problem [[spoiler: possessing an old man to drown BEN. A similar event unfolded when he corrupted Uncle Johnny to rape and murder Sally.]]
** Zalgo has destroyed and enslaved entire universes filled with sapient life. This obviously included a butt-load of children, and we even explicitly see them suffer from his tyranny.

[[folder:The Minions of Zalgo]]

!!Minions of Zalgo
----
* AndIMustScream: Some of them were once ordinary beings turned into demons by Zalgo against their will. Their mournful wails indicate that they might be aware of their current state.
* AxCrazy: They ''literally'' cannot be reasoned with.
* BlueAndOrangeMorality: Possibly. They are demons.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Some of them are this.
* TheBully: They enjoy abusing their power.
* CanonFodder: Most of them are only there to show how powerful the Proxies are.
* EliteMooks: Zalgo's Inquisitors, the Demon Cerebus, and Cthulu.
* EvilCounterpart: To the Proxies. Both serve demonic megalomaniacs, are insanely powerful, and go on demanding missions for their leaders. However, Slenderman is a (somewhat) benevolent boss who does somewhat care for the Proxies, and they ''do'' follow him out of their own will. In contrast, Zalgo's minions are either brainwashed, forced to serve him, or are genuinely sadistic monsters (although the latter is much less prominent than the two others). Zalgo is also a malevolent BadBoss who views his minions as little toys to help conquer universes and regularly murders them without a hint of guilt.
* EvilMinions
* FacelessGoons: The robed minions have their faces covered.
* FantasticRacism: The minion's distaste for non-monster/alien species is evident in their warnings about Lara, contrasting with the monstrous Proxies. They also remark on hiring the Robert and the Larry with disdain, especially when they mention "we have hired the human Robert/Larry".
* ImplacableMan: The Inquisitors are stronger and faster than the usual henchmen. They do not need to eat or sleep or stop to catch their breath. They attack their targets relentlessly, without any hesitation and without any second thoughts about their actions. There is no stopping their rushing, headlong advance. Jeff and Ms. P are hunted down relentlessly, barely able to stop running for even for a few moments before the Inquisitors catch his scent and begin the chase anew.
* TheJuggernaut: The Inquisitors can casually tank most of what others throw at them.
* KnightOfCerebus: Not only are they among the most dangerous minions the Proxies have ever faced, special attention is brought to the aftermath of the many cities and planets they massacre.
* LaughablyEvil: They dose out a dish of BlackComedy.
* MadeOfEvil: The demonic ones.
* PlayingWithFire: Being demons, they can manipulate fire and lava.
* RedEyesTakeWarning.
* {{Sadist}}: A lot of them are this.
* ShockAndAwe: Some of them use electric batons.
* SlasherSmile: Love doing this.
* {{TragicMonster}}s: {{ZigZagged}}. Some of them are just as cruel and malignant as their leaders. However, some of them used to be good or ordinary people, once upon a time. Forced into an AndIMustScream state by Zalgo, similar to Mr. Widemouth. Some of their cries sound very human, like sobbing, screaming, or whimpering. There probably isn't anything left, but it's just close enough to make you wonder.
* WouldHitAGirl: They are shown on-screen whipping female slaves.
* WouldHurtAChild: They have no problem using lethal force towards children such as BEN and Sally. They have already butchered entire cities right down to the children.
* VillainDecay: It took the Proxies everything they had to beat the Inquisitors, and it is advised to run from those you do not have to confront. From then on, they become much easier. Even before that, Mr. Widemouth took them down fairly easily, albeit quite slowly.
* ZergRush: Their main tactic for taking down their targets.

[[folder:X]]
!!X (A.K.A Sonic.EXE)
[[quoteright:350:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/i_am_god_by_dinosam_d6d77gg.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:"'''I AM GOD''']]
X (also known as Sonic.EXE) is an entity born from dark matter that has taken on Sonic the Hedgehog's form. One avid Sonic fan named Tom received a copy of a classic Sonic game in the mail from his friend Kyle about the possibly demonic CD and that it has to be destroyed. But regardless, Tom decided to try it out of curiosity. As he played, he began to see what his friend was talking about, when the game was bombarded with macabre imagery, with X killing Tails, Knuckles the Echidna, and Dr. Eggman in very horrifying ways. Tom was his next victim after playing it.
----
* AGodIAm: It's practically his catchphrase.
* AllForNothing: [[spoiler: He spent the better part of two millenniums enslaving billions on universes in order to carry out Zalgo's orders to destroy the Proxies, only for his entire army to die trying. Furthermore, Zalgo doesn't even remember his rising army. And just to give off one big karmic double deuce to this malignant nutjob, his only surviving warrior joined the Proxies, leaking all of Zalgo's greatest secrets to them.]]
* AndYourLittleDogToo: [[spoiler: He murdered Lara's brother simply to get back at the Proxies. He also went out of his way to drive Slenderman's son murderously insane in order to make him kill Slenderman]].
* AxCrazy: He's arguably even more unhinged than Zalgo. He killed Tails for laughs and has tortured trillions for years. This is best shown when he [[spoiler: murders Lara's brother]] ForTheEvulz.
* BadassBoast: "I AM A GOD, YOU TINY INSECTS!"
* BadBoss: One of the mooks says "You think the Zalgo's bad? Wait until X deals with him! X is an animal.", which carries the implication that he's even worse of a boss than even Zalgo, the latter of whom is definitely not a saint in terms of being a boss either.
** He's such a bad boss that one of his minions actually calls him a bastard directly to him after he blows up a portal preventing his goons from leaving the Dark Forest, effectively leaving them for dead.
** In "Legends of the Multiverse", unlike Zalgo's goons, who stick together even after [[spoiler: Zalgo's defeat]], or Enderman's, who continue to support their boss despite him being dealt a severe blow early on in the episode, as soon as X leaves the scene, his mooks almost immediately abandon him; choosing to join up with the other gangs rather than heal their leader. This makes sense since, at one point, a demon said most of X's thugs were loaned to him by Zalgo. Another even said, "we are professionals." X may demand a higher grade of mooks, but if X, aka their paycheck, is gone, then so are they.
* BreakTheHaughty: What he goes through whenever the Proxies defeat him.
* CardCarryingVillain: Very happy to admit he is evil.
* {{Catchphrase}}:
** "I AM GOD."
** "You weren't/aren't fast enough."
* TheCaligula: He is a cruel dictator of many universes. He destroys and manipulates galaxies to his image. He also proceeds to kill [[spoiler: Lara's brother and gang rapes Ms. P with 2 of his henchmen.]]
* TheCameo: He makes a very... [[BigLippedAlligatorMoment ''jarring'' and out-of-nowhere]] cameo in "The Door". After tripping on a rock, BEN looks to the side to see X in the bushes, bloodied up and eating a severed foot. Then X waves the foot at BEN.
* DiscOneFinalBoss: He's the first true threat the Proxies face in "Legends of the Multiverse".
* TheDragon: To Zalgo.
* EldritchAbomination
* EvilHasABadSenseOfHumor: During the scene at Nihilist House, when he began taunting BEN for crying. It's ''SOOO'' over-the-top-evil - like "I'm not just gonna murder and eat you, I'm gonna make fun of you for crying about your imminent demise" - that it sort of [[CrossesTheLineTwice crossed the line into funny]].
* EvilIsBigger: He towers over most Proxies, BEN, in particular, measuring up to his knees.
* EvilLaugh: X has a high-pitched, almost child-like cackle.
* EvilOverlord: He is the supreme ruler of a thousand universes.
* EvilSoundsDeep: He can change the pitch of his voice to that of Sonic the Hedgehog to a demonic guttural snarl.
* EyeScream: [[spoiler: Miss. P shoves the Sword of Splendorman into his eye and out his head in "Legends of the Multiverse".]]
* FishEyes: He has a noticeable wandering eye. Also, he eyes roll back when his teeth come out. Almost shark-like.
* {{Foil}}: Serves as one to Jeff. Both are the right-hand mans of their respective masters, Slenderman, and Zalgo. However, Jeff is loud, chipper and bombastic while X is more prone to excited but subdued rambling and rarely speaks above a whisper unless in combat. Jeff is a dim-witted, incompetent PluckyComicRelief, while X is a competent and [[NoSenseOfHumor humorless monster]]. Jeff would sometimes water down his cruelty with a pronounced sense of humor while X downplays that for more straightforward scares and doubles down on sheer sadism. Finally, Jeff at least has some PetTheDog moments and can be pretty fun to hang around (as long as you stay on his good side), while X doesn't even try.
* GigglingVillain
* GlasgowGrin: [[spoiler: When opening his mouth to eat Isaac, he opens his mouth so wide he tears his face apart. Strangely, despite the fact his cheek muscles are ripped apart, he can still open and close its jaws.]]
* GodOfEvil: He is considered a god within his universes.
* HateSink: The Shadowlurker may be a minion of Zalgo who has massacred innocents under his orders, but it was counterbalanced by his physical and mental abuse from both the demon and X, so yeah, Shadowlurker is too funny and tragic to be hated. X has none of Shadowlurker's charm, and is more or less an engine of pure, unadulterated malevolence, coming off as a savage, craven, cowardly, sadistic predator by comparison.
* TheHeavy: He is Zalgo's favorite and most dangerous henchman. [[spoiler: He also killed Lara's younger brother... just to get her attention.]]
* {{Jerkass}}: To just about ''everyone'', but especially Shadowlurker. X is a toxic, brutal, sniveling bully above all else.
* KickTheDog: He brags about murdering Sally and Tails, [[spoiler: rapes Ms. P mentally and physically and finally has Lara's brother murdered in a horribly brutal way. He also hysterically uses Isaac's death to mock Lara]].
* KnightOfCerebus: Aside from a gag or two, things get dead serious when he comes into play. Cemented with [[spoiler: Lara's brother's death.]]
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: In "Legends of the Multiverse", he quickly leaves the scene when [[spoiler: Miss. P impales him through the skull with the Sword of Splendorman, rendering him unable to use his powers properly.]]
* LightningBruiser: Even [[spoiler: with a magical sword lodged in his brain]], he still can move with frightening speed.
* MadeOfIron: [[spoiler:If anything, Miss. P shoving the Sword of Splendorman in his eye only made him angry.]]
* MoreTeethThanTheOsmondFamily: Whenever X is well and truly pissed off or when he's about to eat someone, he leans his head back as his gums come out of its mouth with a seemingly endless amount of pointed teeth dripping with bloody saliva.
* NeckLift: Does this to Shadowlurker in "Legends of the Multiverse" to intimidate him.
* NightmareFuelStationAttendant: His prone to [[SuddenlyScreaming scream at the of his lungs is almost spontaneous]], and every scene he's in is filled with the utmost tension. Hell, even [[Serial Killer Jeff the Killer]] is scared of him.
* NoIndoorVoice: A lot of his dialogue is screamed.
* NoodleIncident: It's implied that he and Mr. Widemouth have faced each other before, as Widemouth is surprised to see X on Zalgo's team.
* PitifulWorms: Never fails to refer to his enemies as some type of insect. Just look at his BadassBoast above.
* PostRapeTaunt: [[spoiler: After raping Miss. P, X tells Jeff that Miss. P "begged him for more". Jeff responds by yelling impotently]].
* {{Sadist}}: He genuinely loves hurting and killing others, terrifying them to the point of becoming mentally insane. When he attacks the Proxies at the Unwanted House Guest's home, he mentally tortures Jeff, Eyeless Jack, and Ms. P and when trying to prey on BEN, makes sure to draw it out as long as possible, even miming biting his fingers to savor his terror.
* ScreamingWarrior: A common move of his is to rush at his opponent, teeth barred, flailing all over the place, and screaming like a lunatic.
* SlasherSmile: His default expression.
* SmallNameBigEgo: He treats himself as one of the most powerful beings in existence... yet Aton barely remembers his name.
* TheSociopath: He's driven entirely by self-interest, shows no compassion to anyone, manipulates other characters by acting nice and likable when it's convenient, doesn't care how many innocents get hurt in her pursuit of power, and genuinely enjoys slaughtering thousands because it amuses him.
* ToServeMan: X feeds on human flesh.
* TheStarscream: X is surprisingly very open on his intentions to betray Zalgo once Zalgo kills the Proxies. Zalgo himself doesn't seem too concerned.
* TryingNotToCry: X can be heard making whimpering, maniac crying noises after [[spoiler: Ms. P stabs him in the eye with the Sword of Splendorman]].
* TheUnfettered: He will do whatever it takes to cause as much misery and death as inhumanly possible. From conquering entire universes and turning their inhabitants into killing machines, to killing [[spoiler: Lara's brother]] himself, to even attempting to kill Shadowlurker, nothing is off limits to him.
* WhiteGloves: And you do not want to see whats under them...
* WolverineClaws: He has retractable, almost lizard-like hands under his {{white gloves}}.
* WouldHitAGirl: Ms. P and Lara can attest to that.
* WouldHurtAChild: He murdered Tails [[spoiler: and Lara's young brother Isaac]]. He also shows sadistic relish at the thought of eating BEN and even mocks him for crying in the face of death.

!!The Shadowlurker
[[quoteright:330:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pg_141_by_comickit_dbhnbmy.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:"If I don't find the Proxies, Zalgo will flip out!"]]

Zalgo's [[TheMole mole]] and most proficient henchman.
----
* AffablyEvil: Well, he's certainly more pleasant than Zalgo and X.
* AintTooProudToBeg: He desperately pleads for mercy and forgiveness after failing Zalgo. It doesn't work.
* AnArmAndALeg: His actual arms were dismembered by Zalgo. His cape currently functions as his arms.
* BackFromTheDead: Somehow, he was revived during Season 3 and continues to work for Zalgo.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: He's pretty incompetent, and more than a bit goofy. That said, he has still completely slaughtered hundreds, if not thousands of warriors, and was able to hold his own against Jeff and the Unwanted House Guest for longer than most minions of Zalgo.
* ButtMonkey: Often the target for Zalgo's bursts of rage. X also frequently scares and bullies him.
* CanonForeigner
* TheCollector: He collects the souls and essence of warriors.
* DarkIsEvil: He is clad in black.
* EvenEvilHasStandards:
** He is disgusted by Zalgo and X, and only works for them out of fear.
** He also detests murdering animals.
* HyperCompetentSidekick: Though Zalgo and X are far from incompetent.
* IneffectualSympatheticVillain: Shadowlurker is a meek weasel whose ruthlessness only pales compared to his emperor. However, in action, he is a pitiful, bumbling coward that Jeff and even the highly cautious Ms. P have problems viewing as a serious threat. He's got a terrifying brain, but in terms of brawn, he's a pushover and would be quite justified in calling him spineless.
* InvisibleAnatomy: His cloak function as his hands.
* LaughablyEvil: Very incompetent and goofy.
* TheMole: He uses his shape-shifting to infiltrate Proxy Mansion and rat out secrets to Zalgo.
* NerdyInhaler: Uses one whenever he gets nervous.
* PunchClockVillain
* StarterVillain: He was the lead-up to Zalgo in earlier seasons.
* StealthHiBye: Does this to Jeff twice.
* TheStoolPigeon: It's basically his job.
* UndyingLoyalty: Unlike X, Shadowlurker would never dream of betraying Zalgo. [[spoiler: Possibly subverted in "Legends of the Multiverse".]]
