This can be evidenced by in-game lines - he sounds his most joyful in the heat of the fight.

Updated Hoxton, Copy-Pasted some general Dallas Info from Payday2-Characterpage

Added DiffLines:

* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Played straight with Wolf and Chains, subverted with Dallas and Hoxton. Their real names (or [[IHaveManyNames Civilian Aliases]]) are ''Nathan Steele'' and [[spoiler: ''Jim Hoxworth'']], respectively.

Added DiffLines:

* DiabolicalMastermind: The second game even depicts him as the canonical "Mastermind", and most of his dialogue during heists indicates he's the most senior of the gang (for example, Bain tells the crew to shoot up the Murky Water Gold Convoy "on (Dallas') mark" in the Slaughterhouse job). Dallas' history also reveals that he had set two gangs against each other in order to profit from it and then went into hiding once the gangs found out they were tricked.
** Dallas is also seen playing the FBI for fools in the web series; at the end of the bank heist, he has Hoxton punch him in the face so that he can pose as a victim in the robbery for the police. When Dallas is interviewed by an FBI agent on what Crime.net is, Dallas pretends that he has never heard of it.

Added DiffLines:

* ProperlyParanoid: In The Dentist trailer, Dallas can be seen looking a bit nervous due to a security camera being in the waiting room and sitting next to a cop. Subverted that the cop and the camera are the least of his worries when the dentist working on Dallas' teeth reveals that he knows who he is and [[AnOfferYouCantRefuse gives him some jobs to do for him]]. Dallas tries to get up from his chair once his identity has been discovered, only for the dentist and his nurse to restrain him.

Added DiffLines:

** [[spoiler: LeftForDead: According to the ''Dentist''-Trailer, he got caught inbetween the games because the rest of the crew had to leave him behind.]]

Added DiffLines:

* SentryGun: An alternative instead of ammo, medibags or tripmines.

Removed sequel examples, moved them to their own subpage at PAYDAY 2..

* SmokingIsCool: All of them have a smoking animation when left idle.
* VillainProtagonist: All of the main characters are ruthless thieves who have no problem with robbing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of money and goods from stores, killing cops, breaking into the local FBI office, working with some pretty nasty fellow criminals and even shooting innocent civilians, though at least that last one gets them a penalty.

!!Dallas (The Mastermind)

Dallas is a man who used to have strong ties with the mob, but was forcing to go into hiding when he caused them a little too much trouble. Now he serves as the leader of his own crew.

* CombatMedic: His main gameplay role in the second game along with being the mastermind. His class equipment is the medical bag and he can obtain several skills that involve using them more effectively along with special recovery abilities in general.

!!Hoxton (The Ghost)

Hoxton has always had trouble holding down a job and eventually just became a criminal rather than do honest work. He has made many enemies during his career but that doesn't seemed to have slowed him down much.

Some time after the first game but before the second, Hoxton was caught and sentenced to prison time. He has been replaced by Dallas' younger brother,

New Hoxton (PAYDAY 2):
* BewareTheQuietOnes: New Hoxton is a little more on the quiet and even-tempered side, most of the time.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Is brothers with Dallas, and the two occasionally get into brotherly ribbing during the Web Series.
* LudicrousPrecision: Can apparently mark a three minute span of time ''to the second'' without needing a stopwatch.
* OnlySaneMan: Aside from being notably less excitable than the other crew members, Hoxton has some of the most normal responses to guards' pagers...
** DeadpanSnarker: ...the ones that ''aren't'', however, are dry enough to use as sandpaper.
* ProperlyParanoid: Hoxton shows shades of this in the web series where he grows extremely concerned that the cops will track the crew to their safe house and find incriminating evidence, such as the dead bodies. Chains brushes it off and tells Hoxton to relax.
* TheTeetotaler: Only drinks root beer after and between jobs in order to keep himself sharp for the next heist.

Wolf used to be a law abiding businessman until the economy tanked his business and reduced his source of income to just one client that had cold feet and eventually refused to pay, which caused Wolf's business to shut down and his family going homeless. Wolf eventually snapped from the events and he now takes on multiple personas of criminals from famous films. Wolf's role as the technician of the group is to help keep things running smoothly and make the current job as easy to complete as possible.

!!Chains (The Enforcer)

Chains is a military veteran who believes that he is invincible. Chains always got into trouble when growing up and bounced between foster homes frequently until he found his place in the military. Given his skills and role as the powerhouse of the crew his ego is pretty justified. Even when not doing heists he likes to challenge himself and risk his life, confident in his abilities to stay alive.

The original Chains retired (or was imprisoned) after the events of the first game, and has been replaced.

* TheBrute: Subverted in Payday 1, where he's the [[TheMedic Support]] class. Played straight and then some with Payday 2, as the Enforcer [[ImplacableMan soaks up damage like a literal bullet sponge]], [[CharlesAtlasSuperpower can easily carry bags that would leave the rest of the crew struggling]], and has a propensity for "loud" weapons, like [[ShotgunsAreJustBetter shotguns]] and [[ChainsawGood the OVE-9000 saw]].

** AdaptationalVillainy: The Web Series paints him in a darker light, giving him a colder personality more befitting of a traditional EvilGenius, and having him be perfectly cool with hiring PsychosForHire to kill off people threatening to expose Crime Net.

* ArmsDealer: In both the Gage Weapons Packs
* AscendedExtra: First appearing as a minor character, the "Gage Weapon Packs" line of DLCs show that he is most likely the one giving the crew all their weapons - or if not all of them, than at least some new toys like [[KnifeNut combat knives]], [[MoreDakka heavy machine guns]], [[StuffBlowingUp and grenades]].

!!Vladimir "Vlad" Kozak ''aka'' The Ukrainian

Recently returned from a long stay in prison, Vlad seeks to reclaim many of his old holdings - and wants revenge on the man who framed him. Vlad also runs a bakery in town, which serves as a front to his more illegal means of business.

Vlad's heists are all single-day duration and often focus on violent or noisy solutions, though they also offer some opportunities for stealth and subterfuge.

* AxCrazy: Compared to Hector and The Elephant, Vlad is definitely the most ruthless job-giver the crew has in Payday 2. While Hector gives some low-blows to the Mendozza Cartel, it's semi-justified by his own cartel being locked in a drug war with them - Vlad's actions are all personal feuds, and he outright enjoys it when the crew "gets messy" during those jobs.
* BadBoss: Insists one of his girls 'take care' of a 'special client' despite having promised her she wouldn't have to do that sort of thing.
* CruelMercy: Why does he ask the crew to steal the bride's tiara instead of just ordering her gunned down? He thinks that leaving his hated enemy a nagging wife is a far worse punishment than leaving him a dead wife.
* EvilIsPetty: All of his missions are motivated by him feeling personally wronged by somebody else, and unlike Hector's feud with the Mendozzas, it's not like Vlad's victims have a large criminal organization backing them up.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: His primary motivation. First by raiding the 'Tasteful Club' to steal a rival's money, and second by stealing the tiara the rival's wife-to-be will be wearing for their upcoming marriage.
* VodkaDrunkenski: Vlad doesn't ''seem'' to drink much (or at least seems reasonably sober during most briefings; debriefs are another question entirely), though Bain does mention he'd probably pour the gang a shot of vodka sometimes.
** One of the first things he does upon meeting the crew in the web series is offer them some vodka.

!!Hector Morales

An up and coming South American cartel leader, looking to deal with his rival cartel so he can secure distribution of cocaine and methamphetamine. He does not care how they are dealt with, and it does not have to be in a socially acceptable fashion. He just wants them out of the picture. What makes him truly dangerous is that he has no previous record of crime.

Hector's heists focus mostly on action and stealing highly valuable items like money, drugs, and weapons, but there are some opportunities for stealth.

* BadassInCharge: The web series shows us that Hector is pretty mean in a fist fight, as well as being a dangerously pragmatic leader.
** Even ''Bain'' is afraid of Hector in game, because he knows that Hector has strong connections and would track the crew down if they ever betrayed him.
* BerserkButton: ''Do not'' mess with his girls. A bunch of sleazebags found this out the hard way during the Web Series.
* CombatPragmatist: ''Firestarter'' sees you stealing weapons from the Mendozas to ensure they are no match for his cartel - then burning their money, so they cannot even afford to pay their soldiers or their families down south. He doesn't stop there, as ''Rats'' sees you intercepting the remaining Mendoza leaders before they can escape the country.
* TheDon: Of his cartel, apparently.
* GrievousBottleyHarm: Knocks a guy out cold this way after beating up his friends in the web series.

!!Councilman John Henry Simmons, ''aka'' The Elephant

A Republican councilman, ''The Elephant'' aspires to be a senator - and uses Crime.net as a means to that end. He is not above paying to have his rivals discredited or 'problems' taken out of the picture in a more permanent fashion. His heists strongly encourage stealth and caution, and are highly rewarding.

* CorruptPolitician: Oh SO much. ''Framing Frames'' has you posing as a hired crew to the Elephant's Democratic rival to steal paintings and exchanging them for cash, and then your crew breaks into the Democrat's penthouse to steal his illegal cache of gold while planting cocaine to frame him (and should stealth fails, Bain decides to dig into the Democrat's files and upload the guy's shady deals to the media). ''Big Oil'' has you finding the location of a prototype fusion engine, which has the potential to be a renewable source of energy and it would kill off the use of oil and all of its conglomerates. The Elephant wants you to steal the engine so that all the big oil companies can stay in business and eventually be the one to profit from the engine when it becomes profitable to do so.
** The Elephant is also seen shaking hands with mayoral candidate Bob [=McKendrick=], implying that he may have connections with other politicians with the same corrupt goals as him. ''Election Day'' proves this further when The Elephant hires the crew to hack some voting ballot machines so that [=McKendrick=] gets elected instead of his opponent.
* TheChessmaster: He always has a long game at play, and Bain outright cautions the gang to watch their backs on his missions, in case he decides [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness they've outlived their usefulness]].
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: He seems to be fairly respected in the public eye with no one knowing about his secret connections to the criminal underworld.

You can't exactly buy fully-automatic, high-capacity weapons from just any gun store or gunsmith, and you don't find them lying around on the street. Gage is a bitter and crippled war veteran who provides some of the tools and weapons the gang needs to get the job done, using his contacts and connections within the military. He also occasionally takes 'care' of problems for Bain, using his injury to make victims underestimate him.

!!Vladimir "Vlad" Kozak ''aka'' The Ukrainian

Recently returned from a long stay in prison, Vlad seeks to reclaim many of his old holdings - and wants revenge on the man who framed him.

Vlad's heists are all single-day duration and often focus on violent or noisy solutions, though they also offer some opportunities for stealth and subterfuge.

* BadBoss: Insists one of his girls 'take care' of a 'special client' despite having promised her she wouldn't have to do that sort of thing.
* {{Revenge}}: His primary motivation. First by raiding the 'Tasteful Club' to steal the man's money, and second by stealing the tiara the man's wife-to-be will be wearing for their upcoming marriage.
* VodkaDrunkenski: Vlad doesn't ''seem'' to drink much (or at least seems reasonably sober during most briefings; debriefs are another question entirely), though Bain does mention he'd probably pour the gang a shot of vodka sometimes.

Hector's heists focus mostly on action, with some opportunities for stealth.

* BadassInCharge: The web series shows us that Hector is pretty mean in a fist fight, as well as being a dangerously pragmatic leader.
''Do not'' mess with his girls.
