* AmazonChaser: Subverted. He targets women whom he perceives as powerful to create strong offspring and doesn't care about their consent ''or'' their age.

* BadBoss: In a world where there is a large mix of grey morality when it comes to the leaders of different nations and tribes, the Elf King is undoubtedly in the blackest area of deplorable and loathesome. He sees every citizen of his country as being nothing more than a disposable tool, even his own children. Any who don't rise to his expectations are judged as being useless.

** Also surprisingly, his libido. The guy can't see a powerful woman without attempting to rape them for a powerful child he can use as an ultimate weapon. First of all, he captures a woman from a friendly state to rape them and started a war. Secondly, because of his attempted rape on Aura, he pisses off Ainz as well who was only in his kingdom for business matters and didn't intend to attack him, which directly caused his demise. If he doesn't have this disturbing urge to rape any powerful woman he comes across, not only he would be spared from Ainz's wrath and thus his demise, but the Slane Theocracy would still be friendly towards him and his kingdom.

* HateSink: One of the very few characters who are designed to be as unlikeable as possible, especially when he's found out to be a SerialRapist who's behind the Elf Kingdom and Slane Theocracy hostilities by capturing and raping God-Kin to see if their offspring gains his power. And that's not even getting into his rape of Aura and Mare and how egregiously powerful he is for New World standards, making sure he's virtually unstoppable by anyone but Ainz and his elites. It's actually cathartic when Ainz and Zesshi gives him his well-deserved death.
* ItsAllAboutMe: He has an ego that can match that of a dragon's and is arguably the most despicably self absorbed person in the series. All he cares about is his own desires, regardless of the consequences of his actions.
** He's so self absorbed that his thought process even goes into the territory of InsaneTrollLogic, thinking that a concubine killed herself as an act of penitence after giving birth to a child who didn't meet the Elf King's standards.

* MirroringFactions: In spite of being in a years long war with his neighbor to the north, the Elf King ironically has similar views on racial supremacy, except that he believes that the elf race should dominate the continent. Justified, considering both the Elf Kingdom and the Theocracy were allied states before Decem raped a Slane Theocracy elite.

to:

* MinorInjuryOverreaction: For a given value of "minor", he gets punched by Ainz in the chest hard enough to damage him (though not enough to incapacitate him), making him ''feel pain for the first time in his life''. [[spoiler:Immediately after that, Decem quickly felt fear and took the first chance he got at fleeing.]]

* PrideBeforeAFall: He was already at war with the Slane Theocracy by the time he enters the spotlight (and because he ''raped'' one of their personnel), and he wasn't terribly bothered at the prospect of losing his country and his people. In fact, he seemed convinced that he could still win if he actually tried to, with the war only lasting as long as it did purely because the elves were on the defensive and had the home advantage. It's not until Ainz indirectly pressures the Theocracy into ending the war once and for all that things really start to go south for him: [[spoiler:the Theocracy's army is able to reach the capital city (which is sacked and captured), his concubines are slaughtered by Zesshi (who slips into the castle while Decem is distracted by Ainz), his treasury is pillaged by Nazarick and Ainz [[CurbstompBattle utterly humiliates him in a duel]] before Zesshi assassinates him while he tries to flee. * RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil: He once raped a God-kin from the Slane Theocracy in one of his many attempts to produce a powerful child. The woman in question was rescued by the Black Scripture before the child was born, and now the Elf King wants said child returned to him. The child in question is Zesshi Zetsumei, [[WorldsStrongestMan the strongest warrior]] in the Slane Theocracy. * CastFromHitPoints: Pandora's Actor observes that his remote-controlled armor loses HP each time it uses a skill or magic. Even using what is speculated to be a World Item drops its HP. It's not clear why this is, but may have something to do with it being piloted remotely in the first place.

He more recently used it to attack Shalltear Bloodfallen during her mind-controlled event, but the armor wasn't strong enough to overcome her second form SuperMode, and against Pandora's Actor masquerading as Ainz, while calling himself "Riku Aganeia". Whether or not Platinum has more of these suits, or how powerful they are compared to the dragon himself (since the known example is not stronger than a Floor Guardian), remains unknown.

He rules from the ruins of the Eight Greed Kings guild dungeon and guards their all-powerful guild weapon. He was involved in the disbandment of the Thirteen Heroes. He is aware of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. He mostly just sits from the sidelines... although he did fight the mind-controlled Shalltear and Pandora's Actor with his remote-controlled suit of armor.
* OutGambitted: His decision to use his remote-controlled armor as a drone to confront the "Sorcerer King" to certain his abilities, or defeat him while remaining at a safe distance was a good idea. But the problem is, Platinum Dragon Lord never assumed that his foe would do the same thing. Not only did Pandora's Actor hold back while assuming Ainz's form, but he's also not even capable of using 100% of his creator's power in the first place, and was not holding a World Item at the time. Pandora's Actor deduced that Platinum Dragon Lord's armor was a warrior-type that focused on magic defense. And later talks with Albedo and Shalltear have the three guesstimate that the armor is between level 80-90. Meaning, it's of no threat to a Floor Guardian, or even some of their personal bodyguards like the Evil Lords.

Whether or not Platinum has more of these suits, or how powerful they are compared to the dragon himself (since the known example is not stronger than a Floor Guardian), remains unknown.

* TacticalWithdrawal: He has done this two times, now. Both times when confronted with a Floor Guardian. The first is when PDL's armor attacked Shalltear while she was mind-controlled. Shalltear retaliated by impaling his armor, and the dragon peeled off. The second is when Albedo ripped open his World Separating Wall and almost sent the armor flying into orbit. Needless to say, he's clearly not comfortable fighting a level 100 opponent in the armor.

* AlwaysABiggerFish: These guys are all veritable threats against the Holy Kingdom or any nearby humans in general, as they are man-eating monsters who possess superior strength and the battle skills to boot. There's even a few races that are naturally proefficient in tier 4 magic, something that only a handful of humans could even think of mastering. That said, they're really only as strong as New World standards go, and not only Ainz effortlessly one-shots a bunch of their leaders all by himself, they're also easy prey for Demiurge's skillful manipulations.

* AlwaysChaoticEvil: Most of the Demi-human races that Demiurge rallied to attack the Holy Kingdom are vicious, man-eating species that are incompatible with human civilization or Nazarick's grand vision of conquering and unifying the New World, with the ones that ''are'' compatible being toyed to death or used for experiments to his own leisure with a handful of members being saved by Ainz. This is exactly why Demiurge recruited them to serve him, because he wants to exterminate all of the troublesome species through manipulation.

One of the Dragon Lords, and depending on the source, their leader and the single most powerful dragon on the New World. Platinum Dragon Lord is incredibly ancient and said to predate the arrival of the Six Gods who uplifted humanity. He is one of the few beings to know that the New World has been invaded by unimaginably powerful outsiders from another dimension known as YGGDRASIL. Starting as far back as six hundred years ago, the actions of these creatures forever changed the New World and earned Platinum's eternal hatred. He now fights a secret war to slay these "[[GenreSavvy Player Characters]]" before they can do the same to him.
----
* ArchaeologicalArmsRace: He spends resources to locate and collect weapons that originate from the YGGDRASIL MMO.
* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: Apparently he's been successfully doing this over and over again for at least 600 years.
* DwindlingParty: The deaths and self-imposed hiding of his fellow Dragon Lords in the war against YGGDRASIL has been this to him.
* EntertaininglyWrong: In volume 14, he draws wildly erroneous conclusions from his armor's battle with Ainz. Justified since Pandora's Actor as Ainz was deliberately holding back to figure out more of his opponent's true nature. "Ainz's" lack of a World Item and Albedo wielding one leads PDL to believe that ''Albedo'' is the Player and Ainz is the NPC, with Albedo merely pretending to be a subordinate while using the "Sorcerer King" as a cover. The end result is that PDL is overconfident of his chances of facing Ainz in a rematch with his true body.
* FantasticNuke: He is said to have a Wild Magic spell that can create a SphereOfDestruction. Shalltear's description of the spell's effect was like a verbal recount of footage from [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mV8K9rN9Iw Operation Teapot]].
* FlyingWeapon: His remote-controlled suit of armor utilizes a number of floating swords for attack, as seen in his battle against Shalltear.
* GodzillaThreshold: Every time he learns of a new incursion from the YGGDRASIL MMO.
* GreaterScopeVillain: He intends to become this for Ainz, as part of his never-ending fight against the YGGDRASIL players who enter the New World once every century.
* HistoryRepeats: Once every 100 years players from the YGGDRASIL MMO enter the New World. Each time he has rid them from the New World.
* HumansAreCthulhu: In the New World, the term "Player Character" is a word whispered in fear by the secret cabal lead by Platinum Dragon Lord. They aren't aware of the term's true meaning from YGGDRASIL but have associated it as a title for extra-dimensional beings whose power exceed that of the strongest gods.
* {{Hypocrite}}: He claims to be the defender of the world, but does nothing to stop atrocities that affect entire nations. PDL only bothers to interfere when a YGGDRASIL Player is involved. The Beastmen invading the Draconic Kingdom to use humans as a buffet? PDL pays no attention. The Frost Dragons enslaving the Quagoa and attempting to take over an entire mountain range? Radio static from Tsaindorcus. Regardless of his reasons, he does very little for a so-called protectorate. He also says that no one should have too much power. But that puts the Dragon Lords on top of his own list, considering that before Players came along, the dragons ruled the world with an iron fist and there was nothing resembling an even playing field. The introduction of Tier Magic from Players may have weakened the Dragon Lords, but it gave the weaker species in the world a chance to defend themselves from predators. Though to be fair, he does exhibit some self-awareness and acknowledges that his kind have done a colossal amount of damage to the New World and that he has no right to ask forgiveness.
* TheKidWithTheRemoteControl: For the fifth YGGDRASIL invasion, he utilized a suit of magic armor that could be remote-controlled to carry out his plans.
* NoSell: The [[InfinityPlusOneSword World-Class Item]] in possession of the Slain Theocracy, has no effect on Platinum. It is unknown if this is because he has his own World-Class Item (possible due to his possession of the Greed King's treasures) or he's immune to the effects of that specific World-Class Item (possible due to being a master of Wild Magic).
* OrcusOnHisThrone: He knows about Player Characters, the YGGDRASIL MMO, and opposes their intervention in the New World. He has knowledge from the era of the Six Gods.
* TakeAThirdOption: Without the full power of Wild Magic, dragons are no match for level 100 YGGDRASIL characters on the battlefield. This has forced Platinum Dragon Lord to work through subterfuge, information control, and third-party agents to defeat his sworn enemies.
* UnscrupulousHero: He will protect the world. It doesn't matter how many allies he has to manipulate or kill to do so, so long as it's done.
* WalkingSpoiler: Knowing about him reveals a dangerous foe on par with Ainz's level and knows ''exactly'' what he's up against and was successful in battling against the same type of invaders as him.
* WorldsStrongestMan: Generally considered to be the most powerful New World native. Word of God has already revealed Deep Darkness Dragon Lord would be a ''considerable'' threat to Ainz. If Platinum is truly the most powerful Dragon Lord, he would definitely be no slouch, even before including the possible arsenal he's inherited from the Greed Lords.
* ZenSurvivor: Seems to think of himself as one.

This led to Slane Theocracy breaking all friendly relations and declaring war against his Kingdom, though the Elves are kept in the dark about it.
