* EliteFour: They are (or were) four elite officers within the Donquixote Family, having with Doflamingo the longest and are also his strongest subordinates. They and Doflamingo formed their pirate crew.
* EvilMentor: Doflamingo was already a bad seed, then he met a young Diamante, Trebol, Pica and Vergo, who saw his use of Conqueror's Haki and they became his lifelong enablers, prostrating themselves before the young Doflamingo and raising him to be the future Pirate King. They also gave Doflamingo his Devil Fruit and the gun [[spoiler:that he killed his father with]], indulging his sociopathic tendency and literally putting him on a pedestal to lord over others. This trope is especially true for Trebol, who was the previous boss of the quartet, and he's the one who enforced Doflamingo's bad upbringing the most.

During their last call, Doflamingo says that he and Vergo have known each other the longest, and one of the flashback starts with Vergo introducing the gang's boss (Trebol) to Doflamingo. In said introduction, Vergo was already calling him Doffy, which implies that he and Doflamingo had been already friends before the latter awakened his Conquerer's Haki. Doflamingo refers to Vergo as his "partner", and he's shown to feel sad about his friend's death.

She and her little sister Sugar joined the Donquixote Family after Law and Corazon left the crew. While working as an maid-in-undercover for the Riku family, she helps Doflamingo overthrow King Riku and establish the new kingship of Dressrosa. Years later, she is assigned to work as Caesar's assistant at Punk Hazard in order to oversee him. When Trafalgar Law, the new Warlord of the Sea, arrives at Punk Hazard, Law is allowed to stay there, on the ground that he gives his heart to Caesar while Monet gives hers to Law, so that each side has each other in check.

During the Punk Hazard arc, Monet fights the Straw Hat Pirates and G-5 Marines in order to protect Caesar and keep the SAD production going, but she's eventually defeated by Zoro and Tashigi. Doflamingo then orders her to blow Punk Hazard up even at the cost of her life, which she obliges. However, her heart, which has been switched with Smoker's heart by Law, ends up stabbed by Caesar by mistake, killing her before she could press the self-destruct button.
