Chicken is a character who can appeal to both beginners and veterans due to her high survivability. Whenever Chicken reaches 0 HP, she loses her head instead of dying. While headless Chicken can still run around and attack, and if she gains health from any source within three seconds she will defy death and return to life with one less max HP. Chicken's active ability creates a slow-motion field around her, allowing her to more carefully dodge enemy fire and aim at distant foes.

Fish is a versatile mutant that uses his high mobility and ammo income to outrun and outgun enemies. Fish's passive ability causes him to pick up more ammunition from ammo chests than the other mutants, and his active ability makes him roll, moving him in a set direction at a high speed. Because of his ability to dodge enemy fire or quickly hide behind cover and his significantly increased ammo income, Fish can be recommended for beginners.

Fish's Throne Butt mutation changes his roll so that it has infinite duration and is fully controllable, allowing him to speed across the stage and run circles around his enemies. Upon hitting level Ultra Fish can choose between the Ultra Mutations Confiscate, which gives ammo drops a chance to replace the mini ammo chests with large ammo chests; and Gun Warrant, which gives him infinite ammo for ten seconds after exiting a level ending portal.

Eyes is a manipulative mutant who can outsmart his enemies and see threats coming he otherwise wouldn't have. His passive allows him to see clearly in dark areas, ensuring he won't fall prey to the ambushes so common for those areas.

Eyes' Throne Butt Mutation increases the strength of his Telekinesis, to the point where bullets pretty much stop in their paths. Reaching level Ultra gives Eyes the choice between the two Ultra Mutations Projectile Style and Monster Style. Projectile Style changes Eyes' Telekinesis, making it drag any projectiles fired by Eyes to him, and letting go fires the projectiles in the direction they were traveling previously. Monster Style causes enemies to be pushed away passively, even if telekinesis is not active.

* AwesomeButImpractical: Projectile Style, big time. Its interactions with a lot of the more unusual weapons are fantastic and very fun(for example, using the Devastator turns you into a plasma snake and crossbow bolts can be used as melee weapons) but the need to micromanage your own projectiles while dealing with enemies being dragged towards you by the telekinesis can get overwhelming really quickly

* OneHitKill: The biggest upside of Projectile Style is that it allows Eyes to pull these off against the final boss, which is otherwise a long and grueling fight. Projectile Style allows Eyes to stack up tons of projectiles before the fight starts, and as soon as the boss spawns, unleash them all in a massive blast that instantly destroys [[spoiler: the throne.]] This is even easier to perform when looping, as the final corridor is filled with weapons lying around.

Melting's Throne Butt triples the size of his corpse explosions, allowing for large and often hilarious chain reactions. Upon hitting Level Ultra, Melting can choose between Brain Capacity and B(currently unnamed). B cuts Melting's health in half in exchange for three extra mutations.

Plant's Throne Butt Mutation causes its vines to instantly kill enemies standing in them if their health is lower than 40%. Reaching level Ultra allows Plant to choose between Trapper and Killer. Saplings home into other enemies and explode, damaging enemies and destroying projectiles in the process.

Y.V's Throne Butt upgrades his Pop Pop into Brrrrap, which fires ''four times'' at once at the cost of triple the regular reload time. Level Ultra gives Y.V the choice between Ima Gun God and Back 2 Bizniz. Ima Gun God gives Y.V an additional 40% attack speed increase, putting him at a total of 60% additional attack speed. Back 2 Bizniz takes Y.V back to his crib, where he'll find his pal Yung Cuz. And guns. Lots of guns.

Steroids' Throne Butt Mutation give him a chance to gain ammo for one of his weapons while firing the other, with a significantly greater chance to gain ammo while firing both. reaching level Ultra allows Steroids the choice between Ambidextrous and Get Loaded. Ambidextrous causes all weapon chests to increase two copies of the same weapon, and large weapons chests to contain four weapons instead of three. Get Loaded causes all ammo chests to contain five mini-ammo chests, each one giving ammo for one of five weapon types.

* DualWielding: Steroids' active lets him use both of his weapons at the same time, allowing for creative combinations. Throne Butt simply lets him consume less ammo and have automatic fire for ''all'' of his weapons.

Robot is a character for the player looking for a careful, survivable approach to the game. Robot's active ability is unique in that it does grant it any advantages in combat, quite the opposite in fact, as it's active allows it to eat its currently held weapon, gaining health or ammunition in the process. In addition to being able to recycle leftover weapons, Robot passively finds more powerful weapons earlier than other characters can.

Robot's active ability is unique in that it does grant it any advantages in combat, quite the opposite in fact, as it's its active allows it to eat its currently held weapon, gaining health or ammunition in the process. In addition to being able to recycle leftover weapons, Robot passively finds more powerful weapons earlier than other characters can.can.

Robot's Throne Butt Mutation doubles the effect of eating weapons. Reaching Level Ultra allows it to choose between Refined Taste and Regurgitate. Refined Taste increases the drop rate of powerful weapons by removing all of the early-game weapons. Regurgitate gives Robot a 1/3 chance to regain any weapon it eats, and leaving a level will instantly eat all weapons left one the stage.

* ExtremeOmnivore: Robot can eat his own weapons for extra ammo and health. Throne Butt doubles this effect.

* RandomlyGeneratedLoot: Robot's passive lets him find ''better'' weapons than other mutants in the same area.

to:

* RandomlyGeneratedLoot: Robot's passive lets him find ''better'' weapons than other mutants in the same area. Every area has a loot table associated with it, causing more weapons to spawn as players go further into the game. Robot's passive ability causes it to use the loot table of the ''next'' area, which means that it has more chances to get a rare weapon. Refined Taste plays with this trope even more by completely removing any weapon that would drop on stages prior to 3_1, meaning that weapons that will be worthless by the end-game such as Screwdrivers, Sluggers and Pop Guns will never be dropped.

Chicken's Throne Butt Mutation makes her move at regular speed with her slow-motion active, allowing her to run around enemies at the speed of sound. Reaching level Ultra allows Chicken to choose between Harder to Kill and Concentration. Harder to Kill doubles the time Chicken can spend headless, while Concentration increases the size of her slow-motion field to the point where it encompasses the entire screen.

* BulletTime: Chicken's active is literally this, allowing proper reflections of projectiles from enemies. Her Throne Butt allows her to attack normally under it.

Rebel's Throne Butt Mutation increases the firing rate of her allies, almost doubling it. Reaching level Ultra allows her to pick between Personal Guard and B(currently unnamed). Personal Guard increases the health of her allies and causes two allies to spawn upon exiting a level ending portal. B causes her to spawn an ally automatically whenever she takes damage.

* TheBeastmaster: She can summon friendly characters with her active ability. The first ally costs only one health, but as long as she has at least one ally still alive, subsequent ones will cost two health.

Horror's Throne Butt speeds up the time it takes for Horror's Radiation Beam to charge and heals Horror when the beam is used for long periods of time. Reaching level Ultra allows Horror to choose between Stalker, Anomaly and Total Recall. Stalker causes enemies that drop rads to explode into radiation, shooting projectiles in all directions that act like it was fired by Horror's radiation beam, with more projectiles the more radiation the enemy dropped. Anomaly causes the level ending portal to open when the total health of all enemies left is 140 or lower, as opposed to when all enemies are dead. Total Recall removes all of Horror's Mutations but lets its pick any Mutations it wants.

Rogue's Throne Butt Mutation increases the damage dealt by the Portal Strike, and reaching level Ultra allows Rogue to choose between Resourceful and Super Blast Armor. Resourceful gives Rogue a chance to find Portal Strike ammo from regular enemies. Super Blast Armor powers up her Blast Armor, causing it to create four explosions instead of one.

The boss of the Drylands, Big Bandit is the leader of the bandits and doesn't take too kindly to strangers mowing down his men. He comes equipped with a big machine gun and a bad disposition.

He spawns on 1_3 when the player kills 10% of the enemies present on the map, or on any stage of the Drylands if the player opens all of the chests without killing an enemy. When looping, spawning Big Bandit causes an additional Big Bandit to spawn for every time the game has been looped.
-----
* BandageMummy: Like the rest of the bandits.
* BullFightBoss: A risky but effective way to kill him with a melee weapon. He will attempt to charge into the player if they're close to him, and being hit by his charge is almost guaranteed to instantly kill the player. At the same time, hitting him with a melee weapon during the charge causes him to take damage ''very'' rapidly due to the way the hit detection works, to the point where a single swing of the shovel or sledgehammer can kill him outright.
* KingMook: He is the leader of bandits and fights in a somewhat similar fashion to his men.
* LargeAndInCharge: Twice the size of a regular bandit, and their undisputed leader.
* ThereWasADoor: He will charge through any wall between you and him should you run out of his line of sight. Even if the wall is a single block and he could just as easily walk around it.
* WarmUpBoss: As the first boss in the game, he has far less tricks up his sleeve than the later ones. You're still best off not underestimating him, though.
*WolfPackBoss: Becomes one upon looping, as it causes multiple Big Bandits to spawn.

The boss of the Scrapyard, the humongous, lumbering Big Dog spends of his time sleeping and doesn't like intruders disturbing his slumber. He fights with a large amount of bullets and homing rockets.

Big Dog is found sleeping on 3_3, and wakes up if dealt enough damage to or if the player gets too close. On loops, the rockets fired by Big Dog will fire bullets as well.
-----
* EverythingIsBetterWithSpinning: He spins to fire bullets.
* {{Hellhound}}: Not a very usual-looking one, but the inspiration from the Cerberus is totally there.

The boss of the Frozen City, Lil' Hunter is a former member of the I.D.P.D who has been driven to insanity by the harsh conditions of the wastelands. Armed with a gun and a jetpack, he stalks the Frozen City in search of worthy opponents.

Lil' Hunter is found on 5_3, and unlike the other bosses is not spawned by the player. Instead he appears after a certain amount of time has passed, swooping down on the player like a hawk. Looping decreases the amount of time it takes for him spawn.
-----
* GetBackHereBoss: He uses his jetpack a LOT, flying off into the air to reposition himself should you leave his line of sight. He also dodges like crazy, making him hard to hit.
* GlassCannon: He moves fast and can deal a lot of damage, but goes down quickly.

* TakingYouWithMe: Defeating him causes his jetpack to malfunction, causing him to go rocketing into a random direction before exploding. This can kill you and he'll certainly try to make that happen.
* TragicVillain: He has the saddest backstory in the game, according to WordOfGod.

The boss of the Palace, and the final boss of the game, they sit on the titular nuclear throne, waiting patiently for those that would challenge their authority. [[spoiler: Or so you would think. The final boss is actually the throne itself.]]

They are found on 7_3, where they sit at the end of the long corridor leading to the nuclear throne. Upon loops they gain significantly more health.
-----
* AdvancingWallOfDoom: They will move forward as the fight drags on, eventually reaching the back of the room. Touching them is an instant kill, meaning that reaching the wall is a death sentence unless you have an explosive weapon or the Hammerhead mutation.
* WalkingSpoiler: [[spoiler: The true identity of the final boss is the throne itself, as opposed to the person sitting on it.]]

I removed Ambiguously Brown from Rogue\'s entry as I felt she did not fit the description of the trope. While she lacks distinct ethical features it\'s not like the artstyle would allow them in the first place. Brown skin does not equal ambiguous

Once just an ordinary flower, Plant greatly enjoys being alive, as well as stopping others from being alive. Plant passively moves faster than everyone else, and using his active shoots a seed that sprouts into thorns that snare any enemies hit, as well as moving the camera to follow the seed as it travels. The combination of Plant's snare, movement speed and the ability to move the camera make it a sniper character that's good at dodging projectiles, is able to outrun enemies or block itself from them.

Crystal is unique in the sense that she is the most survivability-focused mutant in the game. Being the only character with 10 HP, Crystal already has a defensive advantage. Additionally, Crystal can safely avoid most projectiles through the use of her active Crystal Shield. Her ease of use and extra health makes Crystal a great starting character, and also one of the most effective in later stages of the game for people who are looking to play it safe.

Eyes is a manipulative mutant who can outsmart his enemies and see threats coming he otherwise wouldn't have. His active allows him to lure enemies into hazards or towards himself, pull in pickups and weapons and steer projectiles away from himself. His passive allows him to see clearly in dark areas, ensuring he won't fall prey to the ambushes so common for those areas.

Melting is a high risk/high reward character. Gaining the right combination of mutations can make him really deadly. Melting passively gains more radiation from killing enemies but starts off with 2 HP, meaning he dies to pretty much everything. To compensate for his weakness Melting has the ability to blow up enemy corpses, dealing damage to all enemies nearby and destroying projectiles, giving him means to clear areas of the map without putting himself at risk.

Yung Venuz is a mutant that focuses on offense over all else. Not only does he passively fire weapons faster than other mutants, he also gets more out of them, as his active allows him to fire two times simultaneously, doubling his damage output at the cost of twice as much ammunition and reload time.

Unlike the rest of the cast, Y.V has money to burn, so he starts out with a golden revolver instead of a regular revolver. It not only looks fancier but actually has a slightly higher rate of fire.

All the muscle Steroids has is not for show, as his increased strength allows him to dual wield, making both his weapons available at all times on top of having fully automatic fire on all of his weapons.

Chicken starts out with a sword instead of a revolver. Chicken loves her sword.

Horror's active allows it to use the radiation it has gained from killing enemies to fire a powerful beam attack, destroying projectiles and dealing high damage to enemies hit at the cost of permanently losing any radiation that don't hit enemies.

A character designed for the experienced player, Rogue starts the game being chased by the Inter Dimensional Police Department, causing powerful enemies to spawn in on the map at random, coming in more and more powerful waves the longer the game goes on. Thankfully for Rogue, she can turn the heat on the IDPD in the form of the Portal Strike, which allows Rogue to target an area of the screen which will within seconds become bombarded with a line of powerful explosives. In addition Rogue's blast armour creates a small explosion around her when she takes damage, meaning melee enemies will be in for quite a surprise when they come at her.

Unlike the rest of the cast Rogue starts out with a unique Rogue Rifle, which fires in two-shot bursts with a high fire rate .
