The zero-pointer robot in Testing Facility B is modeled after [[spoiler:Starro the Conqueror, the most evil of all evil aliens that Earth knows]] and the proctors of the entrance exam grumble and mutter about themselves when [[spoiler:Izuku's alien status]] is brought up. Nedzu and All Might seem to be the only ones who don't display this in any shape or form, but they don't chastise their co-workers for this either.

* CelebrityIsOverrated: He actively shuns the media as it gets in the way of his work. Without his goggles, Aizawa is virtually unrecognizable to even super hardcore fans like Izuku.

* PaperThinDisguise: He's so obscure that Izuku doesn't recognize him until he gets his class schedule. It's justified by his tendency to operate at night and his distaste for mass media.

* SituationalSword: Aizawa's Quirk, while extremely useful, only works on other Quirks, making it completely useless against Metahumans or magicians. It also doesn't work on mutant-type Quirk users because their Quirk Factors are always active. He's frustrated to add another thing to his list of things he can't use his Quirk on when it fails to work on Izuku.

* [[HeroesRUs Heroes "R" Us]]: He has his own radio show that Izuku listens to every week for inspiration.

* ManipulativeBastard: A benevolent one. He placed All Might in charge of Mirio's homeroom explicitly to introduce the two of them to get All Might to make a decision about One For All. He also pushes Tamaki into the role of a mentor for Izuku in hopes that the two of them will bond and work out each other's issues.

* PuttingThePalInPrincipal: He's fair, reasonable and free from discrimination. [[spoiler:He also has no problems with approving Izuku's application to U.A. after seeing the kind of person he is at the entrance exam.]]

* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: He's kind, free from discrimination against aliens, and happy to heap praise on those who live up to their heroic ideals. [[spoiler:Even his knowledge of Izuku's heritage doesn't dissuade him from approving his application to U.A. or congratulating him on being the top incoming freshman.]]

* EarlyBirdCameo: She makes her first appearance in the story as one of the teachers proctoring the U.A. Entrance Exam and comments on Izuku's ChronicHeroSyndrome.

* {{Irony}}: Izuku mentions that Vlad King worked with Oracle to take down Count Dracula, who drinks blood.

* RequiredSecondaryPowers: Izuku says it only makes sense for him to be the science teacher as a Pro Hero whose Quirk lets him manipulate blood.

* MysteriousPast: Her backstory is so vague and ill-defined that even Izuku doesn't recognize her and wonders if she was a criminal. Aizawa is legally bound not to reveal anything beyond the fact that she's from America and a licensed Hero. It works to her advantage at USJ, as the Villains have no information on her either and underestimate her.

A devoted janitor at U.A. Izuku runs into her after running off to take a breather when Nedzu called him on stage to make a speech.

* TheCameo: She's only around briefly in Chapter 9 to give Izuku someone to talk to before his friends catch up to him.

* TooMuchInformation: She runs off to clean some (literally) explosive diarrhea on the third floor of the school, which Izuku wishes he didn't hear.

* MeanBoss: He chews out Aoi for having a ten-second conversation with Izuku and refuses to let her have a five minute break after she spent 30 minutes cleaning up explosive diarrhea. He doesn't even give her the time of day when she helps stop a rampaging robot in the cafeteria.

* CompositeCharacter: Of different versions of herself. Her physical appearance is based on how she's been depicted ever since the ComicBook/New52, primarily ''Film/SuicideSquad''. However, she wields a sword other than the Soultaker Sword, which was something that was part of her character before ComicBook/{{Flashpoint}}. Her awkward personality is written akin to the protagonist of ''Manga/KomiCantCommunicate'', as admitted by the author.
* CoolMask: The top of her face is covered by a white Noh mask, referencing her most recent appearances in the comics and in ''Film/SuicideSquad''.
