* GirlishPigtails: A signature of Draculaura's in G1 and G2, used to highlight her sweet and excitable personality and featured in her signature designs for each generation. G3 averts this, with Draculaura's personality changing to be less peppy and pigtails staying out of her looks.

* LongDistanceRelationship: In her diary, we see that entering the Monster Exchange program forces her to enter into one with an unnamed boyfriend... [[EpicFail that she was actually trying to break up with when she talked to him]].

The [[UsefulNotes/NativeAmericans Native Scaremerican]] daughter of a deer spirit, hailing from [[UsefulNotes/NewMexico Boo Hexico]]. She's flirtatious, and loves dancing so much that sometimes all it takes is music to get her going.

* CallToAdventure: Or to an exchange program. She gets the idea to come to Monster High from a dream, and is told to follow it by Twyla.

* DeerInTheHeadlights: A joke in her official bio is that she doesn't like bright lights being shined in her face as that makes her want to stand still and run at the same time.

* DudeMagnet: An InformedFlaw as of yet but her official bio says that she has an effect on mansters that makes them fall hoof-over-antler for her and that they, unfortunately, end up falling on their hearts most of the time.
* TheMarvelousDeer: She has deer ears, dapples, and hooves, and wears an antler headband.

* MyGreatestSecondChance: Coming to Monster High for a rematch with Ghoulia Yelps. The initial conflict has Kjersti and Ghoulia staring each other down ominously, complete with EyedScreen and a tumbleweed. They're then using their handheld consoles so frenetically they both ''explode'' and give the ghouls a major case of AshFace. They realize they're well matched, laugh it off, and are seen later as gaming pals.

* SamusIsAGirl: Her screenname is gender-neutral and she (understandably) doesn't like or use voice chat, so after months of speaking to her online Heath thought she was a manster. That's also why he didn't tell her the person who'd beaten her in a climactic game was Ghoulia-- he thought [[IWasBeatenByAGirl Kjersti would have been ashamed]].

* AnimalMotifs: Angular white bat shaped decorations adorn her clothing.

* LongDistanceRelationship: In her diary, we see that entering in the Monster Exchange program forces her to enter into one with an unnamed boyfriend... [[EpicFail that she was actually trying to break up with when she talked to him]].

* NatureHero: If you're around her and mess with the environment, you do so at your own peril. After she's selected for the exchange program, she turns against Monster High after seeing an endangered Ghost Orchid being taken there-- and decides to go only to put the plant back where it belongs. When she arrives she finds the plant in the MH greenhouse with Venus [=McFlytrap=] and prepares to forcibly retrieve it. When Venus reveals she's actually creating a new type of plant food to help the Orchid's pollination, however, Batsy has a change of heart.

* OurVampiresAreDifferent: Most likely based on the hupia, a bat-like spirit with a penchant for fruit, and partially based on the real-life white vampire bat. She'd probably be better described as a [[OurWerebeastsAreDifferent werebat]], as her traits are more batlike than vampiric, having echolocation, wings, a fruit diet, and acute hearing.
* PointyEars: Sharper than the other vampires' and hypersensitive to sound.

* FunnyForeigner: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]]. A lot of their foreigner tropes are more monster specific than analogous to anything in the real world, and they all act like everyday teenage girls. Of course, they still have their moments -- like Mari's explanation of foot-centric Maricoxi beauty standards.

* TheClan: The monsters of Loch Ness seem to have these, and she's part of one.

* FunetikAksent: Her bio, substituting "tae" for to and "nae" for not and no.
** Except that's not her accent. Those are words from Scots, a West Germanic language and a sister language of Modern English through Early Middle English.

* MythologyGag: Lorna loves to photobomb, in contrast to her clan being extremely photo-shy. She can even be seen in some the selfies in Amanita's packaging!

* StockNessMonster: Her family. Her diary heavily implies her grandma was the original one that appeared in the famous picture.

* AllTrollsAreDifferent: She and her brothers have Norwegian accents and live in this world's version of Norway, as a nod to trolls' Scandinavian origins. However, her brothers are big, muscular and have grey skin while she's small, slight and has light pink skin.

* GadgeteerGenius: She was able to decipher how to open an ancient box without damaging it at ''three''. Looking at devices, things just click in her head. She's confused that people think her skill bizarre.

* GoldMakesEverythingShiny: Her hair and skin are gold, her dress flips around to reveal a golden layer on the other side, her hat opens to reveal some coins, and her shoe heels can be removed to expose the golden-coin heels underneath.

* PimpedOutDress: The underlying layer qualifies with a GemEncrusted bodice, glitter and an elaborate golden pattern of gemstones.
* PirateBooty: Her hat, shoes, and dress all have a "hidden-treasure" theme. She even states in her bio that she likes her fashion how she likes her treasure--"shiny and jewel-y and gold, and a hint of mystery is always sea-sational!"

* ThePiratesWhoDontDoAnything: Though she's themed heavily after the traditional pirate, her bio states outright she can't stand thieves or thievery. Instead she prefers scavenger hunts, even if there's no treasure to be had--she prefers the adventure more than the treasure.

To fit the part, she's on the big-sister body, she has very furry limbs, and her feet are the biggest of any Monster High character save for Gooliope.

* ExoticEyeDesigns: Her pupil, iris, and eyelights are ''pixelated''.

Cleo's malicious older sister who rejoices in asserting her authority over her younger sister and anyone else around. Along with Ramses De Nile in ''Boo York, Boo York'', she seeks to establish a dynasty with the Ptolemys to gain fabulous wealth and power--at the cost of Cleo's happiness with Deuce.

* MeaningfulName: It's short for "Sloman Mortavich", and also refers to the way his zombie movement makes him look as if he's living in ''slow motion''.

* OlderThanTheyLook: She looks like a little kid in doll form, and a tween in ''Adventures of the Ghoul Squad''. She's actually been under the school for about half a millenium or more, and she attends the high school.

* MeaningfulName: Her first name, "Nora", is very traditionally Irish, which culturally ties Bloodgood into the Irish folkloric dullahan, a monster similarly known for being a decapitated horse-rider (though, traditionally, the dullahan is more grotesque than Irving's Horseman).

The line's most notable contribution to the brand was the development of a plastic hip joint system, which the dissasembly of these dolls necessitated. Previously, MH dolls had elastic-strung hips which were prone to weakening over time and getting caught in the dolls' clothing. After the CAM line created a successful plastic alternative, the joint was adapted for use in all legged MH dolls afterward.

* AddedAlliterativeAppeal: The emotional personas of the dolls: Shockingly Shy and Scared Silly, Spooky Sweet and Frightully Fierce, Hauntingly Happy, Eek Excited, and Shivering Sad, and lastly, Fearfully Feisty and...[[OddNameOut Fangtastic Love]].

Daughter of Circe, and a famous pop star in the monster world. When her nerves overtake her while singing live she's prone to flubbing lyrics, which throws out accidental hexes on her fans. It happened so often that she now only sings live once a year, on Halloween (and doesn't get a pet because [[NeverHeardThatOneBefore everyone would say it was an ex-fan]]). The webisode "Casta Vote" shows the venues for live performances are decided by online vote, and Monster High gets picked. She officially performs at Monster High on Halloween 2014, and the ghouls help her lose her stage fright with help from an interrupting Toralei.

* GenerationXerox: As "Casta Vote" shows, she possesses the same hair color, skin color, immense beauty and immense talent of her mother.
* HellBentForLeather: Her ensemble includes a strappy studded leather neck harness complete with shoulder cages, and purple leather high heel booties. She's no baddie, though.

* ScaryMusicianHarmlessMusic: Wears an over-the-top rock outfit and her doll's face especially lives up to her name, but her music is bright pop with some rap-like verses before the chorus.

* WickedWitch: Her mother Circe plays with this by having the traditional green skin, but otherwise, she looks like the Ancient Greek sorceress she is. Casta herself puts a pop-star twist on the idea, but still retains the classic buckles, boots, clawed fingers, pointed chin, and wart.

* CircusBrat: Raised by the circus; in her diary she also talks about the trope of TheRunaway who wants to join the circus, saying they wouldn't be so eager if they knew how much downtime and hard work goes into being part of the show.

* GoldMakesEverythingShiny: All of her jewelry and accessories are gold, and her hair matches.
* HappilyAdopted: By the ringmaster and all the circus folk. They treat her like family (and throw the occasional prank). Even though she's happy, she does still wonder about where she came from, and has cried over the note from her scientist creator.

* LeaningOnTheFourthWall: Her signature doll's box uses the packaging as a medium to communicate that she's not a novelty large-size version of a character and that she's canonically that large next to the other ghouls. Her box is minimally larger than the other Freak du Chic boxes and Gooliope is bent and crouched in an uncomfortable way to emphasize that she's too large for her packaging--her hands are even posed behind cracks in the plastic window over her hands as if pounding on it to break out!
* LeetLingo: Her laboratory designation as Experiment 816, batch 8708, with the numbers translating to letters as "BIG BLOB"!

* RaisedInALab: Averted. She's a BlobMonster who was left with a travelling circus when she was just a baby goo. She still has the glass jar she was found in and the note that came with it that identifies Gooliope as Experiment 816, Batch 8708. It also contains an explanation as to why she was made a foundling: "A cold sterile world is no place to raise a little goo. I can give her everything, except a community where the only thing about her that will ever be measured is the size of her heart. I know that you can give her the unlife I cannot."

* ScavengedPunk: This is part of her fashion sense, as her size necessitates the re-purposing of objects to create her outfits. For her first outfit, her dress is made out of tent fabric, her earrings are wagon wheels, she has epaulettes recycled from her old lab collar, and her headband is made of organ parts. The other pieces of her outfits are made to invoke this, but due to their scale, seem to be sized-down replicas of the original objects.

Daughter of the [[ClassicalMythologyMonsters Ceryneian Hind]], and ToylessToylineCharacter until her release in the We Are Monster High 5 pack.

* GranolaGirl: Being a deer will do that. As such, she's friends with fellow nature-lovers Venus and Jane.
* HornedHumanoid: She has two brown, pointed and curved horns.

* LastOfHisKind: Not literally, but she's described as "the living proof that golden hinds are not extinct".
* MeaningfulName: "Gilda" means "golden", and Goldstag is pretty self explanatory.

** Although a more appropiate name would be 'Trollsdottir' since that means 'Troll's daughter'.

A plant monster born from the seed of the Corpse Flower, an extremely rare flower which only blooms every 1300 years, Amanita is very beautiful but also very selfish. She has a history with Cleo de Nile's family and Deuce's mother Medusa. She's the signature doll corresponding to the "Bloom and Gloom" line.

* ArtisticLicenseBiology: In real life, the corpse flower is simply a horrible-smelling flower (which is referenced in the webisodes). In this universe, it's also monstrous and its offspring is a humanoid girl. However, the flower itself and Amanita match its real-life colors, and Amanita's green skin makes her the center of the flower when it opens.

* ConsistentClothingStyle: Amanita's dolls follow a Victorian-influenced delicate style with purple and green and black tones and floral themes with skeletal leaves.

* GreenThumb: In "Bad Tomb-mates" it's shown that she's able to manipulate vines. She uses this ability to escape the De Nile tomb. And leave the de Niles behind. It's also implied that she can summon or regrow the Corpse Flower when she feels like an extra-long nap.

* MeaningfulName: ''Amanita'' [[GeniusBonus is also the name for the genus of some of the most toxic mushrooms in the world]]. Well fitting her toxic personality and "creepy plant" theme[[note]]Yes, mushrooms are fungi. And yes, they have nothing to do with her outfits. But it still stands.[[/note]].

* OlderThanTheyLook: Has probably existed for millenia, but looks like a teen girl.
* OnlyFriend: To Nefera while she and Cleo and their father were trapped in the tomb, and apparently resumes her companionship once she wakes up again. Also lists her BFF as "Amanita Nightshade", so she's apparently her own only friend.
* PlantPerson: A fancier version than Venus. She's the offspring of a corpse flower, and able to control plants including her own flower whenever she feels like resting.

* ThirdPersonPerson: While she speaks in first person, Amanita writes in third person all the time in her diary and profile. It's probably because she feels the narration is more dramatic in third person, but more likely is that she loves the sound of her own name.

* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Disappears shortly after her introduction, though nobody was likely to miss her. Averted as of her second release in the Scream and Sugar line, which shows that she's decided to stick around.

* ShrinkingViolet: She's so shy that at first she doesn't even go to class, preferring to hide in the vents and observe the goings-on at school. Eventually she becomes confident enough to come out in the open and become friends with the main ghouls.
* SkeletonsInTheCoatCloset: While the colors imply that they're not real, she has a few bones and teeth in her accessories, and a belt of skulletes, as well as a skullette-topped staff. [[FreakyFashionMildMind None of this is at all indicative of her personality, though.]]
* SpeaksFluentAnimal: Her "monster power", which she uses with the pets who have sneaked into Monster High.

* WitchDoctor: While her specific monster type is unknown, this is her theme. Her outfits are influenced by African tribal fashions, and include feather, bone, and skull accessories, and neck coils on her signature doll, and there are patterns of hands clutching mysterious plants on her Ghouls' Getaway dress. Her pet is a stitched-up voodoo sloth and she has the ability to talk to animals. However, due to being raised by scientists, her personality is that of a highly analytical junior anthropologist, studying the most mystifying creatures of all--high-schoolers.

Iris is a klutzy {{cyclops}} who's kind, poetic, and passionate about astronomy. She had a crush on Manny for a while, but was turned off seeing how [[{{Pun}} bullheaded]] he usually was. After discovering his inner poet with the help of the Inner Monster app and getting to know him better, she realized his HiddenDepths and the two have been dating ever since. Her initial release was with him as a 2014 San Diego Comic Con exclusive two-pack.

* EyeMotifs: Her clothes: she loves all patterns, but has a real thing for eye designs. Exaggerated with her second doll's main outfit.

* InformedAttribute: Her "I ♡ Fashion" box says her love of space leads her to shop for clothes at the planetscarium gift shop, but none of her outfits are astronomically themed.

** OppositesAttract: She's a demure, clumsy and affectionate aesthete, while he's a loud, boisterous, excitable and athletic LovableJock.

* MultiArmedAndDangerous: Has six arms and her comic book self-insert is a villain.

* OutOfFocus: Her appearance must really spook some people, because she rarely shows up in animated materials. Appears heavily in the Ghoulfriends books, and that's... about it.

* JourneyToTheCenterOfTheMind: Assisted by one of Ghoulia's inventions, her and the ghouls take one to Hoodude's head in "Undo the Voodoo" after her initial attempt to read his mind doesn't exactly work.

* MakeMeWannaShout: Averted. She says her scream is not a weapon and that it isn't destructive.

* {{Oireland}}: {{Justified|Trope}}, considering banshees originate from Irish folklore. She doesn't like it when people try to imitate her voice and she says she dislikes certain cereal-brand jokes that people bring up around her.

* ProphetEyes: Her eyes are blank white and she has psychic powers.

* SmittenTeenageGirl: In her diary, she develops a crush on Deuce after he accidentally runs into her and, after getting his sunglasses knocked off, explains that his [[BlessedWithSuck stone gaze]] does not work on gargoyles and basilisks. She knows that [[OfficialCouple Deuce and Cleo are an item]], but this does not stop her from getting her pet, Roux, to steal Deuce's casketball in order to lure Deuce to her. Though nothing more than talking occurred between Deuce and herself, Rochelle does admit to feeling somewhat guilty afterwards. She's reunited with her actual boyfriend, Garrott Du Roque, in ''Scaris: City of Frights''.

* YellowSashOfPower: In "The Halls Have Eyes", Rochelle is appointed with the position of Safety Monitor, and grapples with its' responsibilities when she feels like she's actively being a killjoy. It turns out her proactivity and dedication promoted her to leader of the school's Safety Team... which consists of [[SurroundedByIdiots Heath, Manny]] and Slo Mo.

* GreenThumb: Has been shown to have an ability to magically grow and nurture plants on a few occassions. At other times she's seen caring for plants, Venus will be seen using ordinary gardening methods, at which she still seems to be excellent.

* AmbiguouslyBrown: At first glance she appears to be brown-skinned, until you realize she's a robot and her "skin" is actually riveted copper plates. Yet her father is implied to be Desi, so isn't a stretch to think she is too.

* NiceJobBreakingItHero: In ''Frights, Camera, Action'': leaving the book marking all the ghouls' destinations out for Lord Stoker to follow was '''not very bright'''.

* {{Steampunk}}: In both her body design and her fashion sense. Justified, seeing as she was built during the Victorian era. Accordingly, she favors Victorian or steampunk technology to modern inventions.

* MissingMom: In G3, her mother has been missing for ten years, and Clawdeen wants to find out where she went.

* ItsAllAboutMe: Nefera only ever thinks about herself and her own desires, and when things start to fall apart, she ''flips out''. This is best shown in ''Boo York, Boo York'', when her scheme to have Cleo forcibly married to Seth is foiled and the comet ceremony is stopped, and Nefera immediately starts whining about how she'll never get her own empire.
* LaserGuidedKarma: In "Monster Mashionals Part 2" Nefera uses the family idols to get her team of fearleaders to win, but this prompts the catgirls to help Cleo as they learned their lesson from last time and wanted to win fairly this time around. Ghoulia shows Scary Murphy a video of Nefera cheating, and in turn Nefera is stripped of her previous awards, causing her to give an anguish-filled, glass-shattering scream in defeat.

* MeaningfulName: Obviously a PunnyName on "nefarious", but like her younger sister it also refers to a famous female ruler of Egypt (Nefertiti).

* RoyalBrat: She's the crown princess of the De Nile dynasty, something she ''never'' lets anyone forget about. Much like with Cleo, this behavior was drilled into Nefera by her father to make her an ideal ruler, but unlike her younger sister, Nefera relishes in her lofty position and loves making other people subservient to her.

* VillainousWidowsPeak: This is her hairline on all of her dolls, and she's definitely a nasty piece of work.

Howleen is one of the many younger siblings in the wolf family and shares a room with Clawdeen. After being mentoned several times in diaries, she officially made her appearance in the second Monster High TV special ''Fright On''. She was released as a doll in a 2-pack with Clawdeen in early 2012.

* EvilMakeover: In ''13 Wishes''. Slashed and edgier clothes, heavy black eye makeup, orange eyes and a darkened color scheme to complement the [[EvilKnockoff Shadow Ghouls]].

* OddNameOut: Of the Wolf siblings seen--''Claw''d, ''Claw''dia, and ''Claw''deen. However in the books she has siblings who share her name theme; triplet brothers ''Howl''don and Howie and another brother named ''Howl''milton.

* RummageSaleReject: She describes her fashion sense as "taking lots of different styles and mashing them together to make something totally new and creepy cool". Clawdeen says it looks like she got dressed in the dark.
* SheIsAllGrownUp: Played with. Draculaura mentions her being all grown up, as she's starting Monster High. Also, as of 13 Wishes she gets a hair upgrade.

* ConsistentClothingStyle: Rochelle's outfits often capture a vintage Parisian tone and cathedral architecture, with weathered black-and-white stripe patterns and accessories and clothing that reflect old ironwork designs.

* MythologyGag: She's constantly in safety work, since gargoyles were meant to be protective symbols/beings for their respective buildings.
* NonMammalianHair: She's a creature with a body of stone but her hair is soft and fluid like a human's.
* PaletteSwap: Her Ghoul Chat and Love in Scaris dolls have the same hair and makeup colors, but the distribution is reversed.

Daughter of Literature/ThePhantomOfTheOpera. A bodacious character with a rockabilly style (think the 50s, but goth), she's a skilled musician-- shown to skillfully play piano, violin, guitar and ''banjo''. Tends to do her own thing most of the time, and won't hang with monsters unless they earn her respect.

* ConsistentClothingStyle: Operetta's fashion is pretty firmly rooted in the [=1950s=], with her prime influence being from rockabilly/greaser culture as a more modern take on a musical Phantom. Other outfits of hers move away from this edge but remain in the era, like her ''Frights, Camera, Action!'' doll having a classic Hollywood look.

* OneOfTheBoys: May be this, as she says her best friends are Deuce and Holt.

A werecat who was introduced in the first episode of Volume 2, she's 16 years old and on the first of her nine lives. Her initial story was that when she got tired of Cleo's perfectionist attitude, she and the Werecat Twins left the fearleading squad, and later after seeing how well the squad was doing with Frankie, Draculaura and Clawdeen, she tried to rejoin only to be rejected by Cleo. In the Monster Mashionals storyline, Toralei leaked the Monster High routine to their rivals Smogsnort's Vampiric Academy as revenge, but failed to make them lose. She's later re-inducted to the squad, but gets suspended for cheating on a test. Her and the ghouls butt heads once more in ''Why Do Ghouls Fall In Love'' and ''Boo York, Boo York''...but it doesn't end well either time, thanks to VillainDecay. Now Toralei's just more of an occasional nuisance than an actual threat. Her online bio describes her as the personification of the [[AlphaBitch mean girl]] with a [[GirlPosse posse]].

* AdaptationalVillainy: In G3. In G1, Toralei at least has boundaries, such as not bullying depressed people, makes alliances with the ghouls when necessary, and never discriminates against other monsters. G3 does away with these qualities, leaving her an elitist, blackmailer, human hater, and manipulator who thinks everyone should bow down to and praise. Despite seeing herself as an upstanding monster, [[{{Hypocrite}} she undermines anyone she considers lower than her]]. She is antagonistic to Draculaura, both for being more popular and a closet witch, and she doesn't have a problem with mauling Cleo, despite [[BullyingADragon Cleo being immortal and far more powerful than her]].

* DisproportionateRetribution: Toralei has a habit of taking of her revenge schemes too far.

* DreadfulMusician: Her singing voice literally stops traffic. Toralei has a mix of awareness and not-caring on the matter, since she knows to win the Fierce Rockers vote by being nice to everyone, but deliberately unplugs the rigged mic that was supposed to auto-tune her voice.

* OutOfCharacterMoment: In the time period leading up to Catty Noir's charity performance (where a lucky monster is nominated to sing alongside her), she notices that Toralei is being extra nice to everyone. She fails to realize that this is a ploy on Toralei's part to win the popular vote and get a chance to sing with Catty. Another occasion is more serious when she thanks the ghouls for not just ditching her in Scaris, while it is half-heartedly said she still seems to mean it and that the topic of being left behind makes her sad.
* PassionateSportsGirl: In "Field of Screams", the Ghoul Sports tie-in, she's shown to be an ace at every sport. She's no team player by her own admission and mocks the ghouls initially, but when an opponent tries to say she can't play [[ChallengeSeeker the claws are out]].

* RoyalBrat: In Generation 3, Toralei's mother is the current queen of were-monsters. This status goes a long way to explain her selfishness and belief that he's entitled to popularity.

The soft-voiced, but not necessarily soft-spoken daughter of [[OurGhostsAreDifferent ghosts]]. Introduced as a ruthless and tricky gossip columnist who maintained the "Ghostly Gossip"; she was shown to be misunderstood of the influence of her column, but kept it up. As of ''[[Recap/MonsterHighHaunted Haunted]]'' she fully saw the harm rumors could cause, and decided to become a trustworthy journalist. She renamed her column the "Gory Gazette" following this change.

* ArcVillainess: She's the primary antagonist of the Ghostly Gossip arc in the second season of the webisodes, causing much problems for the heroes/protagonist. However, she's more ObliviouslyEvil, as she doesn't understand the repercussions of her gossip.
* TheAtoner: Implied with the ball-and-chain motif (see Shout Out). While it isn't clear what her "crimes" may have been, Spectra says in her profile that she "find[s] that it's unhealthy to focus on what one does wrong especially when contrasted with all the good one does in the unlife."

* MaliciousSlander: Subverted, and PlayedWith. In the webisode and CG special storyline Spectra never intended for her gossip column to harm anyone; she was just fascinated by the lives of the other ghouls and wanted to share their exploits with others, but was too shy to ask them for permission...or to ask them for the whole story, leading to a lot of misunderstandings from her only getting pieces of the story and then using her imagination to fill in the rest. In the diary storylines, she's a borderline-pathological liar who ''doesn't care'' if what she writes harms others-- and gets ticked if people confront her about writing incorrect stories.

* SameCharacterButDifferent: Her doll persona/diary narrative is a stark contrast to her webisode identity - Diary Spectra is malicious, rude and a pathological liar while her webisode/TV special identity is actually as soft spoken and sweet as her profile claims.

* ShrinkingViolet: While her gossip column is famous, Spectra herself is painfully shy. This is further alluded to with her character's [[VisualPun mostly-purple color scheme]]. Following heavy CharacterDevelopment she's a lot more outspoken now.

* VocalDissonance: You'd expect her to have a snooty voice since she goes around spreading tall tales. Instead, she has a soft, whispery, childlike voice, which highly contrasts with her angular features and chained up punk style.

** In webisode "Unlife to Live", she single-handedly solves ALL the problems in the school, but nobody knows...and she just appears to be sitting around.
** And in ''[[Recap/MonsterHighBooYorkBooYork Boo York, Boo York]]'' (along with Abbey Bominable) is able to stop Astranova's ship from crashing into Boo York City, averting an EarthShatteringKaboom.

* BasementDweller: Averted on the most part (she's much more intelligent and put-together), though she flirts with the idea, due to her preference for fast food and her Scaris hoodie-dress.

* TheDragon: To Cleo. She is the mostly in the first movie and the first season of the webisodes, but with Cleo having a HeelFaceTurn, Ghoulia gradually grows into her own character.

* ExoticEyeDesigns: Her Sweet Screams doll has gummy-worm-textured irises, and her Love's Not Dead doll gives her eyes red reflections.
* FantasticRacism: In her diary, she implies that that zombies are not well liked for being hard to understand and their sluggish behavior. Ghoulia even buys a "Zombies Are Monsters Too" shirt to make a statement, [[TearJerker but can't bear to wear it openly]].
* FreakyFridayFlip: "Freaky Fridate" has this happen with Cleo when Cleo accidentally touches one of Dad's idols that Ghoulia's holding.
* FrozenFace: Though she can occasionally force a rather pained-looking [[TheUnSmile Un-Smile]], a groan, or even, in the case of the webisode "Mad Science Fair", a truly epic SlasherSmile that only manages to dodge being terrifying by happening as she ''finally'' gets back at Cleo for using her.
* GadgeteerGenius: Not only is she the smartest ghoul in the school, but she once invented a two story tall trash-to-fuel recycling machine as a Mad Science Fair project. Also note the comet-stopping.
* GamerChick: Not as pronounced as it is with Kjersti Trollson, but Ghoulia's fond of gaming and regularly gets high scores in a ''Dead Fast'' licensed game. She beats Kjersti twice: in an online MMORPG [[PlayerVersusPlayer PvP]] battle, and in the leaderboard for ''Dead Fast''. When Kjersti comes to Monster High to meet her greatest rival, they end up becoming friends over their mutual love of video games. The trait persists in G3--her signature doll is released with a handheld gaming console patterned after the Nintendo Switch.

** Mattel attempted to play Ghoulia this way during G2 due to backlash from her character's notable total absence, and made promises of her making a big return, but this return was in the form of a single SDCC collector-doll two-pack release that fell in the G1 continuity, and Ghoulia within the context of G2 was PutOnABus with no evidence she existed in its continuity.

* SmartPeopleWearGlasses: She's defined strongly by her intelligence, and wears glasses as a signature. Even her owl pet wears them in G3!

* AsLongAsItSoundsForeign: She often says words that sound Russian, but don't even exist in the language and are clearly fake.

* DefrostingIceQueen: With Marisol in Monster Picchu. Abbey urges Mari to get to the train for Monster High, but as they become increasingly derailed by their adventures, Abbey starts to have more fun, and ends up staying behind for an extra week and taking over Mari's vlog in the meantime.
* DemotedToExtra: Though she was never one of the main characters, she had comparatively larger roles in some movies (like running for school president in ''13 Wishes''), whereas in other ones she is only present in the background of certain crowd shots and doesn't even have any lines. She is absent from the Gen 2 fiction altogether.

** Her Sweet Screams doll has starburst designs in her irises.

* ProudWarriorRaceGirl: Subverted: yetis aren't really a warrior people, just really tough.

* WorthyOpponent: During the frequent sleepover game of "Gargoyles to Gargoyles" to which she is new, Abbey ignores the ghouls' suggestions to [[LetTheBullyWin let Cleo win]]. When Abbey finally wins, Cleo stands up in shock...only to reveal that she's glad she's finally found someone worth playing against, and challenges Abbey to another game.
