* NeverMyFault: He blames the kids for compromising his escape and beats Orga to a pulp despite making a false promise to help them with Gjallarhorn when it attacks when he (Haeda) and the rest of the first corps tried to leave the third division to die. This serves to make him more despicable that by the time he (Haeda) gets shot dead, Orga and his surviving comrades had enough of this crap.

* DropTheHammer: His Gundam has a huge, rocket-boosted hammer as its weapon.

* MechanicalAbomination: It and other Mobile Armors caused the Calamity War which wiped out at a quarter of humanity, the resulting BanOnAI meaning 300 years later the idea of an autonomous weapon is is a alien concept to many. They also posses inhumane designs, advanced and LostTechnology, and capabilities that leave even the [[ConditionedToAcceptHorror hardened soldiers of Tekkadan]] horrified. Such is their power that all the factions together are barley able to slow it and it's stated and shown as humanly impossible to directly fight, only though the inhuman abilities granted by the Alaya-Vijnana can they be beaten [[BrokeYour Arm PunchingOutCthulhu at heavy price for the user]].

* MechanicalAbomination: [=McGillis=] warns Tekkadan that this thing and others like it were responsible for the Calamity War 300 years earlier which wiped out at least a quarter of humanity. The mobile armor that was found on Mars was deactivated, but Iok unwittingly turns it on when he approaches the site too closely with his mobile suit, and his suit's Ahab reactor ends up turning Hashmal back on.

* ShelteredAristocrat: While this was enforced by her rich parents who tried to raise her in a bubble isolated from the injustice experienced by the lower classes, Kudelia herself has long tried to defy her sheltered upbringing. From a young age, she cared about the poor and oppressed, constantly asking Fumitan to help her find out more about how they lived. At the same time, learning second hand about the cruelty of the social order can't prepare her for how shocking it is in person to visit the slums of Mars, or learn how the [[ChildSoldier Child Soldiers]] of CGS undergo horrific surgery to implant the Alaya-Vijnana system in their bodies. Her CharacterDevelopment has her go from well-meaning but sheltered in the beginning, to more experienced and determined by the end of Season 1.

** [[spoiler:[=McGillis=] who was having second thoughts and suspecting that Rustal was onto him is convinced to go through with his rebellion anyway because Mikazuki's battle convinces him he can win with the power of the Gundam's. This leads to all of them attempting the rebellion and failing which leads to Mikazuki, Orga, [=McGillis=] and many other prominant main characters dying in the end.]]

* WaveMotionGun: It fires a massive particle beam from its front, capable of destroying small landscapes. Amusingly, despite looking incredibly flashy, [[WeaksauceWeakness it's virtually useless against anything with Nano-Laminate Armor.]] Less amusingly, it can wipe out a civilian settlement in a single shot.

** By the end of the series, [[spoiler: she's basically the head of the Martian Union and has solidified the abolition of the Human Debris culture.]]

* AssholeVictim: [[spoiler: It’s hard to feel sorry for him after he gets killed by Ride considering everything he’s done.]]

* PointlessDoomsdayDevice: It's not given any explanation who or why anyone would make self-sustaining, autonomous machines that try to kill as many people as possible without in-build way to stop.

* WhateverHappenedToTheMouse: [[spoiler: Almira is noticeably absent from the epilogue. This is made all the stranger by her husband's death, and Gaelio's survival.]]

* WouldHurtAChild: He's involved in the deaths of the Tekkedan children some way or another.

* {{Expy}}: Of [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing Relena Darlian]], being a politically-active young noblewoman and a LoveInterest for the male lead.

* CompositeCharacter: Of [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 Shirin Bahktiar and Anew Returner]]. Like the former, she serves as Kudelia's advisor and confidant, the same way Shirin is to Marina Ismail. Like the latter, both of them are prominent to one of the heroes (Anew to Lyle and Fumitan to Kudelia), [[spoiler: unaware that they are TheMole, but they grew to legitimately care for them and their comrades.]]

* PointlessDoomsdayDevice: We're given no clue who made it or the other Mobile Armors, nor why there were designed to wipe out humanity.
